    Bun Bo Hue (The Original)

Best is always subjective, but I can tell you that this place makes a very solid Bun Bo Hue. The broth is very tasty, the noodles are cooked just right, and a sliced beef was not too tough. The side of vegetables that came with it which were pre-cooked enhance the overall dish.. I did not get the blood cake, everything else was really good. Service was excellent. The staff was very attentive. I will be back to try other dishes.

Got the "large" Bun Bo Hue. Didn't feel like there was much difference from the regular bowl besides the amount of broth. Not sure if it was because we were near the door or a combination of that and the bowls were metal but our food got cold really fast as opposed to the usual ceramic or plastic bowls. Flavor for me was 3.8/5. It was hard to spice it up even with their chili oil - which didn't have much kick. Maybe expectations are different in this economy in Little Saigon area but felt like we really didn't get any banana flower shavings like most places for BBH. The Cafe Sua Da tasted like it was just hazelnut creamer and no condensed milk was used. Would return for, but probably just get a regular sized bowl since there wasn't much difference. Hard to find BBH in Little Saigon since Cong Ly closed down. RIP.

This is a large Original Hue bowl. How much meat would a small be?

I regret going there. I should have gone to Quan Vy Đã. Their veggies are fresh and have more variety. Not only that, but look at this to go original Hue size large. It was $15.95 plus tax and you get only one meatball and pork blood. How much meat would you get if you ordered a small then? Half of that size and maybe 3 slices of beef? This is the worst I have seen based on portion. Maybe if you eat there then you get more, but this is ridiculous. I would not go there again. I should have known based on the reviews.

Bun Bo Hue: 9/10 Service: 7/10 I really like the bun bo hue here. I believe the portions are good and you get to help your self to your own sauces to adjust to your liking more. They also let you substitute out different toppings (I don't like the bones so I OPT for tendon or pork blood) I usually really like the service but today was different. Regardless, I'd still come back for the BBH.

Best BBH restaurant in my opinion. Easy parking + okay service + simple interior + no frills. I got the Nam ($15) and boyfriend got the Hue ($15). We both enjoyed our dishes.

Hello everyone! Just wanted to share that I came back to this spot to try a new dish from Vua Bún Bò called bún bò khô. I heard it was really good, so of course I had to try it -- even though, to me, bún bò is usually meant to be soupy, not dry! I ordered it for delivery and mixed everything together once it arrived. The first bite was just okay, but as I kept eating, the second and third bites really grew on me. That's when I started to truly appreciate the quality and flavor of this dish. The real secret is the sauce they provided!! Soooo good!!

Bun Bo Hue (The Original) soup is in top right. Additional veggie toppings not shown

4.5 stars, rounded to 5. I would definitely order again or go in person. Reminds me of a home cooked meal. Prices are inflated due to ordering takeout, and this is easily enough for 3-4 portions, even without the soup bone. Ordered: 1× Bun Bo Hue (The Original) $17.50 The soup is pretty mild compared to what it can be. Portion was pretty decent, with lots of veggies to put inside. There were onions and herbs, also a bag of shredded cabbage, banana blossom and more. They could have probably included more cured meats, but I was satisfied with the amount given overall. Edit: if you add the veggies shown in my pic into the soup, the flavors balance perfectly and is no longer too mild! 1× Banh Mi Bo Kho $17.50 - Vietnamese take on beef roast. 1× Extra Bread/ Banh Mi $3.00 What a treat! I really enjoyed how fatty and rich this was. Perfect on a cold day. The balance of tomato and warming spices was excellent. The beef and tendons lean a bit fattier than what I would prefer, but overall really nice to order. The flavor is so nice, especially on the second day. The extra bread is nice too, to make this 2 meals instead of one. 1× Bowl Xi Quach$10.00 - extra bone This beef bone was huge, most likely a soup bone from the pho. I ordered it mainly out of curiosity (what do you mean I can order an extra bone?) and was not let down. I used scissors to cut off some tendons to add to my soup, and plan to use the rest as the start to some incredible bone broth. There is also a little bit of marrow inside too. Service / Ambiance: Ordered via DoorDash delivery, so I did not have any experience with the team or restaurant. The food was also pretty lukewarm due to delivery, but I do not blame this restaurant having to make it through 3 stops! This meal reheats incredibly, so no harm on my part.

Solid bun bo hue ! The broth was light yet flavorful. Included all the fixings. Meats were okay to me, some on the blander side. Did wish it was more spicy, i added their chili oil but it didn't do too much. Overall an enjoyable bowl of BBH!

Disgusting hair still on the pork hock.

Not good... my friend ordered me bun Bo hue via Uber Eats and my usual bun Bo hue places are not listed on Ubereats so he decided on this place. It was my first time trying and last. The broth was not good, meat was limited, there was still fur on the pork hock(gross). If they can't even clean the food properly idk what else is not clean. I thought California is suppose to have amazing Vietnamese food? I've been disappointed majority of the time.

    Jamie P.

Ordered through DoorDash and it was a good thing I paid extra for the meat bc the toppings portion was a bit underwhelming, however, the broth made up for it! It was flavorful and the veggies were plentiful without being too oily. Would definitely come back to try it in person or order again.

They have three different style Bun bo hue from the different regions of Vietnamese which I have never seen that in any Vietnamese restaurant. I went with the Bun Bo Hue and the beef bone. Unfortunately I was disappointed when it arrived. The broth was not spicy and it lacked a lot of ingredients that goes into the soup. The beef bone was full of fat and was not cooked long enough. It was hard to chew. The "large" bowl was not large. As much as I wanted to give this place two thumbs up, I was not thoroughly impress . Friendly service. Difficult parking because it in a busy plaza!

Had the bun bo hue (nam). It was good. There was no wait on a Sunday evening and plenty of parking.

Their bun Bo hue is deliciously good. Very consistent every time I go. Their service is fast and friendly. I only wish they provide more vegetables but it is nice that their vegetables are already cleaned and prepared to be eaten. The atmosphere is small and feels crowded like their Bolsa location in California. They don't offer the short ribs like their Southern California location. This place is my back up place to go for bun bo hue.

One thing that really stood out, though, was the condiment station. The chili oil, fresh chilies, and sauces looked dirty, and after tables were cleaned, the serving spoons and sauce dishes weren't replaced. I actually had to grab them from another table myself. These days you can't really get a good bowl of noodle soup for under $18-$20. Here you can get a solid bowl for just $8 during happy hour! Whaaat?! Crazy! That is such a great price that I almost feel like I'm robbing them. LOL. During this recent visit, I wasn't too hungry so I just got a small bowl of wonton soup for just $7. I think I had wished for some sauce to go with the noodles (but I understand its mostly with the soup on the side), good tightness of the meatballs :D... They have the classic condiments on the side, the pickled garlic isn't very crunchy and kind of on the sweet side, the pickled chili does have that slight acidic kick that works well. I modified my noodle to egg for a dollar. The soup was good, on the more umami soy/beef side than clear. The wontons were abundant too, instead of a chili oil the sauce is more like a tangy sweet chili vinegrette thing. My accompaniment got a garlic noodle soup (fried garlic oil) that was rich and also in a huge bowl. For the price and portion its a hidden gem for someone who needs to feed a family. Overall a decent place with many options for Vietnamese food, both big meal dishes and fun street food. Here what we tried: Ngheu Hap Thai (Thai Style Clams) - the clams were big and the broth is very flavorful! My mom really enjoyed it! Mi Vit Tiem (Duck Noodle Soup) - absolutely love the broth! So clean and herbal like! The noodle texture is interesting, as it is not your usual egg noodles. Not sure if I like it over the traditional egg noodles. Still a good dish! Banh Canh Tom Cua (Vietnamese Crab & Shrimp Udon) - there were so much crabs and shrimps in the bowl. The broth is good, just a little bland and needed to add some fish sauce. Mi Sui Cao (Wonton Dried Noodles) - love the wonton and the fried shrimp crunchy thing. The seasoning is really, but I don't think I like the noodles they used. Sup Cua (Vietnamese Crab Soup) - so much toppings in the soup! Love the century's egg!

I ordered Togo mi hoành thánh $11 was nothing special but honestly the portions were huge. Nice atmosphere and the place is clean Very friendly, attentive staff. Plenty of parking

But first, the bun cha Ha Noi , which came…read morewith a mound of springy vermicelli, a very generous serving of lettuce wraps and different fresh herbs, and a bowl of pork patties, delicious pork slices, and pickled daikon and carrots in fun star shapes in a sweet and slightly tangy sauce. The pork patties were my favorite, and although there were plenty of the grilled pork, many of them were pieces with a lot of fat. That was my only gripe about it. Now about the hu tieu, which came with all the delicious bbq pork, shrimp, shredded chicken, fried garlic and onions, lightly dressed in an oh so delicious sauce. For me, the sauce was actually the star. Mix everything together and get yourself one delicious bite, filled with so much flavor. The accompanying broth on the side was great as well, with hints of dried shrimp reminiscent of a really good HK wonton noodle soup broth. Highly recommend this place!!

It's pretty much a hole in the wall type of place with some large TV's on the walls if you wanted to watch sporting events like the World Cup. We got banh mi pate que which comes with 2 piece that are breadstick sized filled with pate and pork floss. A great appetizer for sharing or having some coffee with. It comes served piping HOT so be careful! We also had the bun cha ha noi which is a very traditional Northern Vietnamese Nanoi dish. It has grilled pork patties and pork belly in a sweet savory fish sauce served with fresh herbs and cold rice vermicelli. You pretty much eat it by wrapping it with the lettuce or dip your noodles into the sauce. Very authentic and delicious without being overly heavy. There isn't much service here since they seem to be super short staffed but they do have delicious authentic Northern Vietnamese food so we absolutely will be back again!
