Not really sure what you are getting for the price but it's not quality food that's for sure. Tried their chicken salad wrap with white chicken chill soup, And their surf and turf (the pulled pork instead of the burger. I asked them to put my coleslaw on the side which they for got. The chicken salad tasted mostly of mayo. Not really much to judge from that. The white chicken chili was mediocre. Honestly Lee's chicken has better white chili. The pulled pork sandwich was okay. Mostly bun and saucy meat. And the pieces of perch that came with it were laughable. Very tiny and quite soft. Had to throw them in the oven to crisp them back up. Not impressed. On top of everything the prices of the menu from Yelp are incorrect. $3-4 dollars more then expected. Not including tax. I would save your money and only go there for your free birthday meal. Wouldn't go again. Not worth almost $30 dollars. read more

We stopped in after our trip to Michigan Adventure, and we were very glad we did! I got the Michigan Cherry Salad and it was amazing, so many toppings on it. Then we split the Chicago style pizza between 3 of us and still had left overs. You could tell everything on it was fresh and it was amazing! The atmosphere is great and the staff was friendly. Hobo's Tavern is the perfect "nice date night", Rehearsal Dinner, Birthday Dinner bar, but it's location for me and it's high prices make it out of the question 99% of the time for me. They have a great food menu and a decent drink selection, especially when it comes to higher end liquor. I'll sum it up like this: Because I'm no Rockefeller, and due to the fact that it's 20 minutes away from me, I'm not a huge fan. Good place. My wife and her sister had the Asian Salad, while my brother in law had the salad and white bean chili combo. I had the Hobo special, which was a 1/2 lb hamburger patty with cheese, mashed potatoes, corn, and gravy. All 4 items were cooked just right. The only negative expressed was that the Asian Salad needed a bit more chicken. The wait staff was good and brought more water and/or iced tea without being asked. A nice lunch time experience for about $11 each plus tip. We also looked at the dinner menu (about $20 per item, including some interesting combos) and they all sounded good. read more

Delicious food, good prices and great service...you'll love it! Hobo's has defiantly won the "Where do you want to go for dinner?" battle numerous times! They have TVs showing the latest sports games and news. They also have a pool table and shuffle board in the back. They have patio seating in the spring, early fall, and summer. Jessica is a snobby waitress. I went there earlier tonight at 5:15 p.m. and was seated at the center table when you walk straight ahead there through the doors. I thought she did a terrible job checking up on me and never asked if I wanted a refill of water and also didn't take my plate of food away after I was finished. Hardly acted in a professional demeanor and wasn't the most friendly towards me. Overall not very accommodating. I did not feel welcomed. I was the guy wearing a beige jacket and ordered the boneless chicken wings. Most likely will not return if that's how the employees treat their customers. read more

Typical sports bar-type bar/restaurant with TVs blaring, all on different sporting events and a pool table in the corner. Food was decent. They offer all the usuals: burgers, wraps, salads (boring choices there) but a few interesting entrees as well. I had the roast pork cooked with Grand Marnier and another liqueur, cooked with mushrooms and onions -- it was very tasty and there was plenty of it. It was served with a mixed vegetable combo with cheese and marinara sauce on top (not quite sure how that fit with the pork) and mashed potatoes. Visited the Hobo while spending the weekend in nearby Montague. This place was a welcome alternative to the pizza/burgers/deep-fried diner food found north of Muskegon! We both had sirloin/perch combo plate. Steaks were both done to our liking and tender. Fun atmosphere and good service. Would not hesitate to make a return visit! read more

We decided on a late dinner on a Saturday night. We were seated quickly in the dining area. The restaurant was pretty noisy with carryover from the bar area. I asked for a Smithwicks which was listed on the draft beer menu and was told that was the only one they didn't have. I then changed to a glass of Malbec. The pour was fairly generous. I had the Philadelphia Steak sandwich and my husband a burger. Both were ok but nothing special. The Philly Steak was listed on the menu as rib eye steak thinly sliced, but was really dry and tough even with the addition of au jus. Overall a decent place to eat, but nothing special. read more

My steak was $23 and was a case of you get what you pay for. It was mediocre, but not as good as what you'd cook in your own backyard. The pasta my fiancé had was a much better meal. They had some top shelf Scotch, but I didn't appreciate the deceptive bait and switch they pulled on me. I asked the waitress how much it was for a serving of Macallan 18 year Scotch and she said $18. I ordered it and loved it, but when I saw my bill, it said it was $24. I asked the waitress why there was a 33% increase from what she quoted me. She told me they have an up charge to sell it "neat." I wasn't in the mood to ask for the manager to complain, but I am very experienced in purchasing top drawer hard liquor from numerous establishments, such as Stella's Lounge in Grand Rapids and I've never had this happen before. It's not about the cost, it's about the bait and switch and not telling me about a six dollar up charge just because I don't have ice with my Scotch. I will probably come back because they have excellent Scotch, but I will be ready to debate the manager next time to quiz them on their sleazy and disingenuous practice. read more

I absolutely 100% say this was the best Veggie Burger I have ever had and my husband had the Perch Reuben that was melt in your mouth goodness. A welcome sight at an otherwise non-descript intersection, the exterior sets a high expectation for a quality experience. I can gladly report that the place delivers. High level of professional service, and an interesting array of American and Irish pub fare that was satisfying to the palates of everyone of 12 in our party. And at reasonable prices too! I love hobos. Never disappointed. I ate here Monday . They were extremely busy and we got a table in 20 minutes. I got the special which was an 8oz steak with 2 pieces of perch, and a side. I got the loaded baked potato. My steak was cooked perfect(Med-Rare). I also tasted the ribs and chicken wings which were also great. They have my favorite zesty sauce for onion rings, better than anywhere else. Our server was very attentive. We were a table of 3 adults and 2 children. On vacation from St. Louis and one of the locals here suggested I stop in. Came in after the Sunday church rush and this was definitely not a mistake. The place was still 1/3-1/2 full. Very clean and modern yet rustic atmosphere. I was seated and waited on right away. The menu is perfect size without too many choices but a wide variety of items. I ordered the lake perch w/ coleslaw and redskins. Food was in front of me within 10 mins and it was excellent. Great sized portions and my bill with drink and tax was still under $20.
