Worst in town. 1st time last time. Order 2 meat brisket and ribs. Wife ordered brisket. We had baked beans mac & cheese , and mashed potatoes. Brisket was chewy and seemed old. Everything seems to be warmed in a microwave. Ribs were the greasiest I've ever had. There were so many bones (not rib bones) it barely resembled ribs. The baked beans seemed like they were from a can from the grocery store. Mashed potatoes didn't taste real. Similar to a grocery store deli. Mac and cheese looked very old. My husband loves Hog Wild. Me, not so much. The portions are more than generous, and the meat is good. The sides are what keeps me not wanting to come back. The Mac and Cheese reminds me of KFC, clumpy and a weird taste. The fries do not look like they have been seasoned at all. Last visit I ordered a baked potato loaded. It was loaded with sour cream, but hardly any butter or cheese. The potato was still hard on the inside, and not fluffy at all. I do like the style of the restaurant. It's very convenient for eating a quick meal, and they have a ton of seating. Hog Wild is good, but not spectacular. I will not be back on a regular basis. read more

If, you want dry meat and bad customer service then this place would be great. I'm from Kansas City a place known for great BBQ and this is not it. The meat tasted like cardboard and when I complain I was told I must not know what good BBQ taste like. They seemed to be hit and miss based on reviews but I think consistently they are avg at best. read more

If six stars were possible then I would have given that. We had pulled chicken meat on all our combos. The chicken was moist and tender and finger lickin good. Both hot and mild sauces are good. Excellent value and quality. You can get two single meat entres for around $15. The staff is extremely helpful and attentive to your needs. if it your first time they take the time to explain. The menu choices are straight forward and easy. Great all around experience. Bbq does not get any better. I am comparing it equally to the local bbq places in Memphis where I have eaten before. Had the two meat combo with brisket and hot links sides of beans and mac&cheese and the Texas toast. Wife had pulled pork sandwich and beans. I also added two rib bones. All meats were smoked perfectly and moist and the beans had a nice spice to them. Texas toast was great. Sweet tea was perfect, not overly sweet. Only reason for the 4 instead of 5 was the side portion on the beans was very small to me. Food was better than Flakey Dave's and Parkers. Wife is not a big fan of BBQ but she likes pulled pork and she said it was good. I got spoiled on BBQ at The Shed in Mississippi so I'm always in search of good BBQ in Omaha. I've been to Hog Wild on numerous occasions since they've opened and haven't been disappointed. At the time of this review I had the 2 meat dinner w brisket, hot links, slaw, and mashed potatos. Fantastic! Favorite sandwich is the SmokeStack and the Open Face Sandwich is a close 2nd. Service has always been extremely pleasant. I have had to wait a little bit but nothing drastic and the food/service by far makes up for any kind of wait. Has been my regular Saturday lunch stop and will continue. read more

I lived in Austin, TX for 5 years and love me my bbq. Since this is close to my neighborhood, thought I'd give it a go. No way in heck will I ever return to this location. Before I continue, my friends have said the Saddle Creek location is much better so I may give it a 2d try. Since this was my 1st time, I ordered a 3-meat combo. Ordered the ribs, brisket & ham plus potato salad & cole slaw. Since my other friends ordered mashed potatoes & gravy, the kid behind the counter also placed that on my order. Since I didn't catch it, I just accepted it. 1-the meat was lukewarm and, as others have mentioned, quite dry. Needed a lot of sauce (I used the mild - very mild, a little sweet) to chew & swallow the brisket. And it is shredded. Who shreds brisket? The ham was fatty and the ribs - meh. There was meat on the ribs but they were tough. 2 - the slaw was generic, store-bought; the gravy was hot but the potatoes tasted like a mix of real and flakes. 3 - the sweet tea! Ye gods that was NOT sweet tea and it tasted like it had gone bad. Worst tea ever! 4 - did try also the apple cobbler - very generic, very bland. 5 - we arrived close to opening and there was dried sauce and meat on one side of a booth - guess they don't care about cleaning. 6 - if you are disabled (as I am) you will have to leave your chair or walker outside the very small stall. If I want a "chain" bbq - I'll go to Dave's. At least their food has always been hot and their brisket properly served sliced! read more

Pros: Their sandwiches are amazing. If you want a change of pace and price compared to other places to eat. Prices usually range for $6 to $10. Cons: Portions are, "smeh" levels for the price and quality. Beef brisket was rather dry, they could have added more BBQ sauce on top. --- Conclusion: I would definitely come back for the their sandwiches, not so much their brisket, but the sandwiches, yum! Tender, juicy and full of flavor. We had been invited to the pre-opening party and the place was rock'in! The sides we had were beans (a little sweet for my taste but with a dash of their hot sauce they were great), potato salad (very creamy with lots of flavor), and he had potatoes & gravy (very good) I had the slaw (best I've had).The staff was exceptionally attentive even though they were swamped. Came here last night for a quick dinner. Ordered the Carolina pulled pork and 2 meat dinner (brisket and hot links) with beans and Mac n cheese. Overall not impressed. Couldn't taste any smoke flavor in the meat. The links were good but that may just be the sausage they used. The brisket was more like pulled beef. Why not sliced so we can see the smoke ring? The pulled pork sandwich was okay but again no smoke flavor. If you like good bbq and appreciate good smoked meat then don't bother. There is no awards being won here. Service was good. read more

Very disappointed. I went through the drive through last week, ordered the burnt ends dinner. They were NOT made with brisket, just some chunks of a beef roast. Today I tried it again to give a second chance, ordered the 2 meat meal with pulled pork and brisket so that I would be sure to get brisket... not sure this was actually brisket either... just some shredded beef. Nice clean place decked out in BBQ. Ordered 3 meat combo for lunch...ribs, brisket and pulled pork with beans and Mac/cheese as sides. Ribs were the superstar. Very tender and fall off the bone. They come sauced so be ready for that, but the flavor was balanced. Brisket and pulled pork were moist and very good. Beans good but would be better if they put some meat in them. Mac/cheese was very creamy and good. Very busy lunch crowd which is a good sign. Drive through available. Overall good visit and lunch. Not five stars but a solid four. Stopped by for the first time yesterday 6/20/16. I ordered a 3 meat combo, Ribs, Brisket, and Sausage. Beans, Cole Slaw, Sausage and Garlic bread were very good. Brisket was very dry and tasteless, Ribs had a burn't bark on them that was uneatable and under the bark fat was under cooked making them very very greasy. (Too much fire on high heat). Not much smoke flavor, rub used, if any, was burnt into the tasteless bark. The wife had a pulled Chicken sandwich that she liked (she is all about bland). Would I go there again? Very good for what it is: fast food bbq. Sort of felt like the fazolis of bbq. Slow for a drive thru, fast for dine in. Had the loaded potato with pulled pork. The portion size was good for the money, the pork was tender. Sauce however was totally lack luster. Only two choices, mild and hot...and hot was barely tangy. I'm pretty surprised by some of the negative reviews... growing up in Kansas City, I have yet to try BBQ that beats Joe's KC BBQ (formerly Oklahoma Joe's). However, I was very impressed by Hog Wild and really liked my brisket sandwich. The meat was moist and flavorful and the sauce was great. They put sauce on it, so for those who think it should come plain, just ask for it that way. Fries were nothing special but still good. I would love to see them make their own ranch and onion rings. The remodeling they did is awesome - well decorated and friendly atmosphere. read more

Food was garbage! Brisket was so dry and over done that they served it chopped up with bbq sauce already in it. Pulled pork was also dry. Pork shoulder is the easies thing to smoke if you mess up pulled pork you can't be counted on for much. Ribs didn't even taste smoked they tasted charred grilled. The meat didn't pull off the bone. Everything tasted microwaved. Mac n cheese and baked beans tasted like cake from a box could get from the grocery store. It's sad because places like this are why people try bbq for first time and decided they really don't like bbq food. Also, poor management, there was an employee being chewed out for having their phone out in front of us using fowl colorful language. That is something that should be done in an office and not in a place customers can see or in front of other employees. Will never come back again! Compared to really bbq joints Famous Dave's is mediocre at best yet it still somehow twice as good as this place. Now me know why it was so empty. Lesson learned. read more
