    Goma Miso Toroniku Ramen

Honestly, first time I came here I was disappointed relative to expectations. Everyone hyped it up and I was thought it was just alright, maybe even basic. On a second visit, I appreciated the broth and thought Hokkaido Ramen Santouka was actually really good. I'll chalk it up to a bad day on my first visit. There seems to always be a wait and I can finally say I understand why. Not my top ramen spot, but it's growing on me and climbing the ranks. Goma Miso Toroniku Ramen - as a protein enjoyer, I highly recommend the toroniku add on of 6-7 extra slices of pork cheek for $5 more. Fatty and tender. The large upgrade for $2 adds more noodles and broth which are delicious in their own right. Noodles were firm, yet bouncy, maintaining their texture perfectly. Al dente in pasta terms. A savory miso alongside notes of roasted sesame led to a rich, fatty, and umami broth.

[[HIGHLIGHT]]Great location and food overall, more options compared to the Bellevue location and lots of parking available.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Highly recommend the Negi Namban ramen

We went for dinner on a weeknight. It was full but a table opened up pretty quickly. We ordered three different Ramen: I had the Kimchi and the two people with me had Shio and Shoyu -- they arranged from $15-$18 and change. The food came out incredibly fast. It was so impressive. And everything was steaming hot and the flavor was well balanced, especially with the kimchi ramen. Loved it. The hot sake was on special 8 ounces for seven dollars. So we ordered two. It was deliciously hot. We also ordered Ikuta two servings each serving comes with three pieces. And the edamame. For dessert we had the fish shaped red bean dessert that was actually deep-fried instead of waffle so there was an extra tastiness about them in some ways. One order had two pieces for under $9. And we tried the green tea ice cream: there was also mango and vanilla. Each scoop was $2. Service was attentive and excellent. [[HIGHLIGHT]]And the restaurant felt clean and comfortable.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

First time here at this spot but the food is not new to me. This one is located in University Village (outside shopping mall). [[HIGHLIGHT]]As soon as you open the door you can smell the food it smells really good.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I ordered a small classic ramen which I think was a perfect size and saba nigiri (my favorite). I love how the portion is huge slices. Other items ordered were Karaage Curry Chiken and Tan-Tan-Men. The food came quickly and it was standard nothing really exciting. [[HIGHLIGHT]]It's not a huge restaurant but it's also not a hole in the wall.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] There is a wait. So as soon as you walk in you can sign up for the waiting list. So we got in list and accidentally put four instead of three people. So we got a text our table was ready. This really annoyed me. They said since we had three people and not four that we had to wait because there were two parties with three people ahead of us. Like what? What does it matter? You're found to seat three people in a table that fits four. Anyways, I just didn't think the logic made sense.

Good and okay at the same time. Had dinner on a weeknight with my bf and I appreciate how the staff really works well together b/c one seated us, they were on it about taking our order and then the food was coming in pretty fast. It's definitely a fast food service so sometimes I questioned how fast it really was because as soon as we got the appetizers, they came. Ramen was fast too. I really loved the oolong tea which came in a tea kettle. The mackerel boxed sushi was...different. Like it was okay and the mackerel was really fresh, but not sure if I love fresh fresh raw fish because it was a thick piece of mackerel on top of each one. They have a good variety of sushi and ramen dishes. I gave it a good rating but my bf sai it was just okay. So I'd give it 3.5 stars in reality.

A decent spot tucked into UVillage. A bit on the saltier side and the menu has a lot.. going on. [[HIGHLIGHT]]We were pleased with the service and the interior had plenty of seating.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] They also have yelp waitlist available which is great for larger parties. The food quality was decent but don't think I'll go back for the Tsukemen or ramen, just not a big fan of the flavors here and the noodle types. The pricing seemed inflated too comparatively to other ramen spots. A decent spot but just nothing wildly amazing.

This was my first time at Hokkaido Ramen in UVil. Upon entry, you add your name to a waitlist. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Tables are pretty clean.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]The music is apt for the setting[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Most of their ramen is pork based. I got the special Shouyu ramen (black garlic) medium size. Service was quick. Since I like some heat, I added the Togarashi spice which was still mild and then added some chili oil which made a world of difference. The broth was dense and the pork was tender. The 7 min egg on the top was perfectly runny. The noodles were tender. I also tried some Shio Ramen but found it a bit too salty. Highly recommend Hokkaido for an afternoon or evening of comfort food. Only con was the portion size seems to have shrunk a bit per my friend's experience and also gone up in price (up $4 in the last year!).

I've never had a bad meal here. The service tonight was on point as well. I ordered takoyaki to share with my group and it was delicious. My bowl of steaming hot Miso Ramen was comforting, not too salty, and very flavorful. The pork was cooked to perfection, as well as, the egg. I love adding corn to my ramen. I left there with a full and happy belly!

I went on a cold and rainy day, so it was the perfect thing to eat it instantly warmed and cheered me up. Being a vegetarian I find it hard to find good Ramen. That's just as flavorful when it's vegetarian, but this really hit the spot although they don't have many options for vegetarians the one Vege Ramen they had was quite tasty, I added an egg to it and asked for it to be cooked extra spicy but they gave me a spicy chili oil on the side (costed extra so be aware if you ask for the same thing!).

Note that there is a wait here although it does go fast. Broth and ramen noodle textures were very good and flavorful although the ingredients seemed to be a little more on the plain and sparse side. Portion sizes seemed to be more Asian style but other aspects seemed less authentic. There is an add on for the soy sauce egg for $2 which is unusual as well as a $6 add on for a small pot of hot tea which was grainy towards the bottom :( still worth a visit and a good comfort on a cloudy gloomy day

With tip, $31. Medium ramen, rice/pork and an egg.

I've been going here for years. Their ramen is pretty good and they offer a lot of options. I usually get the Kara miso ramen and the char siu rice bowl. I'm a creature of habit, food wise, and when I find something I like I usually get the same thing every time. The menu here has changed over the last few years. I don't think they've taken anything off the menu but they've expanded their selection of rolls and other sushi offerings. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The biggest change to the menu is that it's just gotten harder to figure out. They've added all these graphics and 'deals' that they emphasize with bold colors and table cards. Drink specials, etc[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]. I suppose their demographic defines this change...proximity to UW so they're appealing to youth with splashier stuff maybe? I don't know. [[HIGHLIGHT]]But for me, this change (although purely environmental) makes a solid little ramen shop feel a little more like a sports bar.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I realize I'm being picky but.... When you pay over $30 for a bowl of ramen, some rice and an egg, I think you are paying for an experience that transcends sports bar. ‍ I like the food, and will go back but their prices are killing me and the card payment that defaults to an 18% tip makes me feel like I'm being coerced.

This was a good stop! I've walked by this numerous times but never tried before today. The pork bun was a little dry but flavorful. I really quite enjoyed the Tsukmen ramen -- flavorful and not shy on the options. Good came out exceptionally quick and we didn't have a wait for a Thursday lunch.

This place was super cute, tucked inside University Village next to the happy lemon. They had a promotion thing so we got free chicken karaage which was really tender and juicy. The ramen was kind of on the pricey side but if you have a uw ID, they let you upgrade for free (shoutout to the waiter for mentioning it). The ramen broth was really flavorful and the noodle was cooked perfectly. The only sad part was the egg is an add on The experience was still positive though!

Are there vegan options? Are the noodles made with egg?

Their Vegetarian Ramen might be your best bet -- from their menu: "Soy based vegan broth with menma kikurage mushrooms, soy sause marinated fu (wheat gluten) and umeboshi." According to an employee though the noodles contain egg.

The kids got to pick out a Pokémon card at the bar (huge win), and our waitress went above and beyond--she was so warm and attentive. She even brought the kids Pocky for dessert, which was such a sweet touch. We also ordered the fried chicken--$8 for a huge portion, which is an amazing deal. The dipping sauce was delicious. Upon entering the restaurant, all the tables were occupied, and we were told to wait a few minutes before being seated. We only ended up waiting about 5 minutes. The menu was very informative and provided a definition of what aburasoba is. There were also directions at the bottom of the menu explaining how to eat your ramen. Since it was our first time here, we started off with a peach lemonade soda. My boyfriend chose the No. 1, Homura, and I chose the No. 2, Pot Roast. We both ordered a raw egg on top and a side of chashu pork. We wanted to order the onigiri, but unfortunately, they were all out. After about 5 minutes, our food arrived! The presentation was lovely. We took our chopsticks and mixed everything together, just as instructed, then took our first bites, and our minds were blown. The texture was creamy, and the flavors were packed with richness. The portions were perfect, especially for the price. I absolutely loved the experience here and would totally come back to try their other aburasobas. It was so good that I wouldn't even mind sitting through traffic during a World Cup game just to get it again. Until next time!

They looked directly at us through the window multiple times and acted like we weren't even there. What disappointed me the most wasn't that they may have stopped accepting customers it was the complete lack of basic courtesy. It would have taken just a few seconds to open the door and say, "Sorry, we're no longer taking orders," or at least ask what we needed. Instead, they chose to ignore us entirely. There were still four tables of customers dining inside, so we were hoping it might be possible to place a to-go order. We were only trying to buy food for our 2-year-old son. Because of how we were treated, I won't be coming back. The waitress and the male staff member were incredibly rude, dismissive, and unprofessional. Customer service like this is unacceptable. Even if the food maybe okay, the way customers are treated matters just as much.
