4.5 -- Massive portions, great price, and super friendly and fast! They don't seem to speak English, but the online menu is in English for any non-Chinese speakers. Also super easy to just walk in and grab a table inside or outside. My friend and I got the Popcorn Chicken with a side of Mince Meat Noodle Soup, Braised Pig Trotters Plate, and Garlic Lettuce and Gai Lan. With all of this, we had enough for 2 meals worth of leftovers! Everything was delicious, the pig trotters melted off the bone. I will definitely become a regular here. -0.5 just because the popcorn chicken is really sweet, which isn't my preference

I loved Miss Mike's and I understand that ownership changes, but I still love Lee's kitchen. I think they have the best rice rolls in all of Seattle, and while portion sizes may have decreased a littttlllleeee bit, it's still very reasonable. It tastes extremely home-cooked and this place is my go-to for takeout. I also like their noodle soups, congee, and fried / popcorn chicken and fried pork. I also really want to try the port trotters but haven't had the opportunity to yet. There is an easy to use self order kiosk and it is all self serve and self seating. You grab your own utensils and takeout boxes. They also deliver via the apps for your convenience. Since it is near UW, it is street parking only, but it's not impossible to find. It is a very casual establishment that is great for students.

This building is nostalgic and special to me because it's always been home to comfort Taiwanese food. Henry's Taiwan, Miss Mike's, and now Lee's Kitchen. They've always served the classic Taiwanese fried chicken bento and are consistently solid. While the food is phenomenal, the drinks are unfortunately a poor representation. Boba spilled on the way home which sucks, but because it was lackluster, I didn't mind. Easy to make the same drink at home with grocery store ingredients. Fried Chicken Cutlet Bento - always a must get. High value, tasty, and nostalgic. Big portions at the price, tons of chicken, rice with minced meat and veggies, plus an egg roll. Chicken is juicy, tender, and Taiwanese preparation for frying chicken tends to be lighter while more flavorful. Just missing a tea egg and the pickled vegetables on the side. Shrimp Rice Roll - classic cheung fun, tailored to the college audience because there's a lot of rice roll to be filling on a budget. Not too much shrimp relative to the rice roll. Original Iced Milk Tea w/ Boba - as noted above, the boba here is mid. I've made the same boba at home, just cooking grocery store boba and no marination. It's an okay chew with absolutely no flavor. Milk tea tasted like the classic powder drinks and pretty sweet. I tried to ask for less sugar but that wasn't available.

Popcorn chicken and beef brisket rice plate combo. Great chicken. Tough brisket. :(

Just to be clear, I'm glad this place exists. I don't live near the U. District, but I visit the campus every now and again. I had the combination rice roll (cheung fun) with shrimp, pork and beef. And I also had the popcorn chicken and brisket combo rice plate. It's hard to find a place around here that does such thin rice rolls. That part was a treat. The filling could be better seasoned, however. It did come out later than my other food, due to it's complexity. But the portion size was enough for at least two people. The popcorn chicken in my combo plate was hot and crispy. More like slices of chicken than what I would associate with the "popcorn" description. But it was good. I can't say very good things about the brisket. My first bite was very hard to chew. Almost rubbery. I didn't eat any more of the beef and actually took it home with the rest of the rice so I could put the brisket back on the stove and braise for another hour, maybe two? It was that tough. Disappointing. If it's not fork tender, I don't think you should serve it. But like I said, I'm glad they are there. The restaurant business is difficult. And if you've ever lived in an area with nothing but Panda Express, this is heaven sent. Take advantage of the free parking on Sundays, at the Central Plaza Garage on campus. It's only a block or so away.

Good food at a reasonable price. There is a monitor that you order from, so you can "see" what you are ordering, in case you have questions about 'what is what' on the menu. Casual atmosphere with plenty of tables to sit.

Chicken cutlet bento after I had eaten half the chicken already and the broccoli

Walked in and ordered on a giant tablet for food to go. It was fast and easy once the employee showed me how to switch the language to English. Pretty cool. It's a small place inside but with some nice seating outside as well. The chicken cutlet bento box was roughly $21 plus tax and came with a lot of chicken and rice and honestly only ate half because it was a lot! If they offered a half order I would have got that. But, that's a positive! So much food for the price, nice to see. The crunch of the breading on the cutlets was very well done! I asked for spicy and I guess being a San Diego boy, it wasn't spicy at all but it was very well flavored and I would go back for sure.

My favorite place on the Ave! Always such good quality, portions, and service. I also love the music in the restaurant!

No real service with self seating with QR codes on tables for ordering, self serve sides (peanuts, fried crispies, soup, and pickled veggies), and self serve utensils/cups - if you care about sanitation a lot, it may not be for you (they do keep it clean though!) the food took a while to come out (~20 min) but was super delicious! as another location for their original Bellevue location, it's slightly smaller but the food is the same (just with chicken wings to appeal to a college demographic?) highly recommend their clay pot rice, rice noodles with meat, and congee!

    Lees House Braised Pork Belly

Food was expensive. Food was cold. And the rice was old and mushy. The rice tasted like it had gone bad. I literally spat the food out and left right after. 40 dollars for two plates of food. But the place was pretty packed so maybe I just had a bad experience?

food is good! we like the food The stone-ground rice noodle rolls are delicious. The beef brisket is tasty.

The food was fresh, flavorful, and clearly made with care. Service was friendly without being overbearing, and the atmosphere was comfortable and welcoming. Portions were generous, prices felt fair, and I genuinely enjoyed the overall dining experience. Would happily come back again.

Service is quick and straightforward. We ordered the pineapple bun with butter, mixed steak plate with black pepper sauce, and spare rib and chinese sausage clay pot. The pineapple bun was large, hot, and crispy with the sugary crust, although I wish the slab of butter was a bit bigger because it gets a little dry after you run out of butter. My boyfriend really enjoyed his mixed steak plate - it came with a pork steak and beef steak, steamed rice, and steamed veggies. The meat was fine but the real winner was the savory sauce! The clay pots take 20-30 minutes to cook which they tell you ahead of time, so be aware my boyfriend was about done with his food when the clay pot came out. This was a delicious classic dish reminiscent of the clay pots back in Hong Kong! I poured in a ton of sauce and it really gets absorbed into the hot rice and meat. They have some nice lunch combos, but sucks that they don't provide soup for takeout. Could substitute with a rice or something! Honey Walnuts Prawns - honey walnut shrimp is such a classic, easily one of my favorites from childhood and still near the top of my list. I don't know if it's the takeout container, but the quantity with respect the box was disappointing. Minced Pork with Green Bean - now this was a hefty box, lots of green beans tossed with the classic XO sauce and a solid amount of pork. This place is a true gem, serving satisfying, delicious food in a relaxed atmosphere at an affordable price. The restaurant looks small from the front, but space is used efficiently and they manage to fit quite a bit of seating into not that large of a dining room. Tables are mostly four tops, quite spacious at that, and surrounded by sturdy wooden chairs. I came for dinner on a Friday evening and there were a few other tables at any given time. Service was quick and our water never ran empty. We had the wontons in hot oil, topped with peanuts, I had the beef chow fun, and my dinner buddy had the pork with hot sauce noodles. The wontons are very very good, stuffed with flavorful pork and swimming in a sauce that sits in that perfect spot at the intersection of hot and sour. The peanuts and scallions add a delightful crunch. Their beef chow fun satisfies every bit of childhood nostalgia I have for this dish, with lots of wok hei, bouncy noodles, and the most tender of beef. I think my favorite beef chow fun in the city still lives at A+ Hong Kong Kitchen, but this is a close second. The portion here is also huge. I am a human vacuum and I actually brought leftovers home, which is rare for me. The pork with hot sauce noodles is seemingly a fusion of zha jiang mian and dan dan noodles. My friend really enjoyed it and actually finished the whole thing, which is saying something given that she doesn't usually eat that much.
