I'm a local Realtor, and though I haven't needed Cleveland's services at my own home, I've had the pleasure (yes, pleasure) of referring him to all my clients over the years. It's been a pleasure because the process to hire HTPC is so easy online, which is my preferred way to schedule appointments. I've been able to put in inspection requests online and after hours from my computer or phone with no problem. My inspection requests are always followed with a confirmation from the office manager. If my requested time is not available, I always receive a phone call with other options. All the techs are very professional in their attire, their communication, and in the way, that they treat my clients homes with the utmost respect. There have been times where I or my clients have needed clarification on items that showed up on inspection reports, or general information on different pests, and Cleveland and his crew have been available to talk us through it. As a first-time home buyer, the myriad details that need to be taken care of can be a bit overwhelming, so anything that makes the process easier is appreciated. Working with Holiday Termite & Pest Control was an example of this. I called on a Monday night after 6 pm and was able to schedule an appointment for Wednesday morning. The woman I spoke with was helpful and knowledgeable about the requirement of a termite inspection in home buying, providing information I wasn't aware of. She was also patient with somewhat spotty cell reception. The inspector was timely, friendly and professional. He did a thorough inspection, answering my questions along the way. He found one area he felt was questionable and consulted with his supervisor, emailing photos. He arranged to have his supervisor come out about an hour later to take an in-person look. This made me feel better and I was relieved to learn the area was not in fact an issue. Holiday thoroughly answered all my questions, referenced professional associations and a university in their network, assured me we did not have a problem and did not try to sell me unnecessary services. They also provided the electronic report in record time and gave us some advice on sealing the area where the HVAC enters the house to prevent mice from getting in. Hopefully we never have an insect/pest-related issue, but if we do, you can bet I'll call Holiday. I'll certainly recommend them to friends in need of pest treatment or inspection. read more

Preventive Termidor HE liquid termiticide treatment to our colonial three-story house: Researching (and choosing among) the various ways to professionally treat a home for termites is frustrating and time-consuming for a lay person like me. After hours and hours of research, and talking with several companies, I concluded that the so-called "bait" system of prevention was not to my liking. It then became an even bigger chore to find a trustworthy and reliable company to do a Termidor HE liquid treatment around the foundation of our three story colonial home. [The drilling part of the application process is nowhere near as invasive as I had thought; the value of the preventive treatment far exceeds the slight amount of drilling of patio slabs, concrete steps, etc. And they fill those holes with a liquid concrete or asphalt filler that fills the small holes as good as new.] I met with several companies, and researched many more. One company told us we had a small termite presence in front of our house; my neighbor had actual termite damage inside his house. We knew we needed to do a preventive treatment. Cost was not an issue, since termite damage can be a huge uninsured loss, and I do not want to be "penny wise, pound foolish." There is a high level of just plain TRUST that has to go into selecting a termite company. Locally owned and operated Holiday Termite & Pest Control was the only company with whom I felt totally comfortable, so we arranged a Termidor HE treatment. Company owner Mr. Dixon was prompt, professional, and thorough when we met with him. He satisfactorily answered all questions. His technicians who did the treatment were equally professional, prompt, and (I think) thorough. The very complimentary reviews of Holiday Termite online and on Angie's List are deserved. So far as I know, we got the best possible preventive treatment for termites from Holiday. Although we are only now a week since the treatment, we have nothing but the highest regard for Holiday Termite, Mr. Dixon, and the technicians who did the treatment around our 190 linear foot foundation. All holes made in mortar, concrete, and asphalt were filled in to our satisfaction, and the drilling (in four separate places around the house) were only minimally invasive. No one but us will even notice where they drilled and where they then plugged the drill holes. It's important to me to have a small, reliable, local company do work such as this. Holiday Termite is small enough to really care whether or not we are happy. They've been around for more than 20 years, and I suspect their longevity has something to do with the fact that others have been pleased with their work. And, although it was not a factor in our decision to choose Holiday, I can also say that their price was the lowest we found. Fast service, ended up paying $420 for traps around the house but turns out it was my paranoia more than mice in the house

We've used Holiday for preventative pest control and the occasional infiltration of sugar ants for several years, and they've always done a terrific job. But this year, one of our pets brought a ton of *ticks* into our house. Cleveland and his team went above and beyond to help us out - they scheduled us for service the very next day. Holiday made sure that the ticks were properly identified and removed, then treated our house to make sure they wouldn't return. Such a relief to have this issue taken care of so quickly. We called Holiday Termite when we had a mice problem. It was easy to schedule with them, especially with Saturday appointments. Raymond came to our house, listened, and clearly explained how they'll take care of the issue. Not only he's super professional, he's very pleasant and funny (my kids follow him around when he comes). After the initial consultation, we signed an yearly contract They come every two months to spray around the house and check for any mice activity. I found Holiday on yelp and decided to try them out after finding termites swarming in my laundry room. The experience was top notch from scheduling to the service call. I called and was promptly scheduled for an appointment the next day. Leonard was knowledgable, patient with questions/concerns, safe (had is Covid 19 gear on when entering the home), and NOT a pushy, salesperson. He called before arriving, did an inspection, thoroughly explained what was happening, and offered a solution. We agreed to a termite treatment and it was done the following day. Christian completed the termite treatment and was also great! Leonard even came back to answer any questions and make sure everything was going as planned. I also pay attention to the little things...Think big corporate style niceties (neat uniforms and trucks) with small company style customer focus AND THEY DRIVE SAFELY in the neighborhood. We were also looking to get a prevention service so that we did not have to worry moving forward. We worked with Leonard Scott, and we are very happy we did. He was professional, patient, and very knowledgeable. He put together a treatment plan for the ants, and he helped us identify a prevention plan moving forward. He followed up with us a week after the ant treatment plan to make sure everything was working as intended (it was). I called Holiday Pest Service because I was afraid that there was a dead mouse behind my refrigerator. I called first thing in the morning on a Thursday, and the President of the company came out that very same morning (they were very sympathetic to my distress). Both guys were very clean cut and professional (I was impressed). They assessed my situation in great detail....more detail that I thought was possible when planning a pest control strategy. They laid traps, patched a crack in my HVAC where they thought the mouse entered, and gave me some landscaping tips to discourage mice from thinking my backyard was their restaurant. As it turns out, there wasn't a mouse behind the fridge; it was dead in the walls, but the reps from Holiday told me how I could avoid ever having a problem again! It was by far the best experience that I have had with a pest control service or a contractor of any service that I have had in my home. The only reason that I did not give 5 stars is because I haven't had the one-week follow up appointment yet, but I am sure that they will meet all of my expectations (if the first meeting was an accurate indication). I am seriously considering keeping them on-call when I rent our my place. I recommend Holiday without reservation; you won't be disappointed. Recently listed a home, got a contract almost right away, and contract stipulated that Buyer was to pay for the Wood Destroying Insect Report. When Buyer's termite inspector looked at the house, he said he found evidence of past termites, and wanted to treat the home. The Seller and I were both skeptical. I called Cleveland for help, and he came next day to check out the property. He could not corroborate the other report, so my conclusion was that we were being "held up" by the other company. Unfortunately, we still had to do the treatment, but because of Cleveland's input, and actual mediation with the other company, we got a reduction on the price. read more

Best pest control company EVER!! We had a massive infestation of ants; not only did they come out within a day but they spent two hours tracking and eradicating them. They tracked the ants to a tree on the back of my half acre backyard and treated the origination point as well as the path they took. They found ants under moulding and baseboards we had no idea contained ants. And, all of the ants were gone the next day!! ALL of them! They came back a week later just to check to make sure there were no more ants. We have not seen one ant in a week after seeing hundreds (I was ready to move). The gentlemen were professional, kind, and thorough. I've had a Terminix contract for years and they can't hold a candle to Holiday. I cannot recommend Holiday highly enough. About a year ago we bought a house that had a pretty bad mice problem in the attic and other areas, due to the previous owner's neglect. We weren't moving in for a couple months, and wanted to get this under control before then, so we called Holiday. They have been absolutely terrific. It's like night and day -- we've had no signs of any mice in the house since moving in, other than evidence they've been eating bait from the stations Holiday put in, and even that activity has essentially stopped for a good while now. We feel (knock on wood!) that Holiday has the situation well under control, which is remarkable considering our lot backs up to a heavily wooded area. We signed up for their bimonthly service, and feel it's been well worth the modest cost, given our proximity to the woods and the challenge this poses for controlling pests in our house. Holiday's technicians and office staff are always polite and they do a great job of scheduling their visits to fit your schedule. Keep up the great work! read more

After reading reviews here and other sites, I called HTPC to ask for a termite inspection for our Sterling home. I called late in the afternoon and was given a 9-11AM time slot the next morning. Cleveland showed up and knocked quietly (I have a few signs up about not waking my sleeping children). He then did an inspection, and I followed him around while he explained everything he was doing and what he was looking for. In the end, it turns out the signs I learned about CA termites, are totally different than VA termites, and we didn't have any problems at all. There was no charge for my inspection, since I didn't need paper work for a real estate transaction. I was very happy with his honesty and helpfulness. If I need anything again, I will definitely give them a call. read more

About a month ago I started to see ants in my master bathroom. I called a few pest places in the area and got free estimates. I was impressed with the knowledge that Cleveland from Holiday Termite & Pest Control had regarding ant problems in the area and how to treat them. Most places just wanted to spray and/ or put down bait but Cleveland wanted to get to the source by putting tinny holes in my walls and spraying in the holes. Cleveland or his associate came back twice to check on the ant situation and there was no extra charge for that. I would definitely recommend this company. Also I found out that Cleveland is on the board of the American Pest Control Society and travels around giving talks. This tells me that he knows his stuff. read more

Requested a free estimate today in the morning for later today, they sent me an email and called me within an hour saying that everything was ready to go. Anthony came over around 1:30-2:00 and inspected my apartment (live in a basement apartment) and told me what to do before we spend money on a full extermination. My apartment is full of house centipedes, and anyone who has seen them, know they are nasty looking and very creepy. My landlord and I are going to do what Anthony suggested and if we still need back up extermination, then I know where to go and who to call! Anthony was super awesome, professional and really funny too. I don't usually feel comfortable letting strangers into my house, but I felt comfortable immediately with him. I have never left a review on yelp but felt inclined to do so because of the exceptional service I received today. So, they are called fungus gnats, and they were ALL OVER my home! The past 2-3 days I noticed a tremendous amount of gnats (didn't know what exactly they were) and my husband, mother and I couldnt figure out where they were coming from. We're not talking about 20 or even 50. We're talking about HUNDREDS of them accumulating around my windows and flying around our home. I was at my wits end swatting them, squishing them, and doing everything I could to kill as many as possible. They seemed to come back even stronger. The last straw was when I saw one on my sleeping newborn. I quickly looked online, found Holiday Termite & Pest Control on Yelp and called them because they had great reviews and serviced my area (Centreville, VA). I spoke with Cleveland and explained the issue as well as my concern about spraying harmful chemicals because we have a dog, a newborn, and a toddler who is always on the floor and puts things in her mouth. He asked me a few questions and instantly identified 1) what they were 2) where they were coming from 3) how to treat them, and 4) how to avoid the issue from reoccuring. I was very impressed with his knowledge and professionalism. Very happy with Holiday Termite & Pest Control. We had a mice problem and had been using Orkin, and they could not get rid of the problem. They did not seem concerned with stopping the problem, but came in more as mice catchers. I wanted them gone, out of my house so we canceled and had Holiday Termite & Pest Control. Holiday came out and I was impressed right away as they had a plan to get rid of the mice all together. They placed bait boxes outside my house to determine where the mice were coming in at. Once they determined that they explained that the bait box will prevent mice within a 50 yard radius, thus no more mice in my house! The service man was helpful and knowledgable. They also look for trends in the neighborhood so they can take a proactive approach. read more

I'm actually not a customer BUT: I called to inquire about roach control and it turns out the company does not service condos. I was disappointed and wrote a Yelp review about that. Not 10 minutes later I got a call from Cleveland who very kindly took the time to explain why they don't provide pest control to condos. He gave me advice on how to proceed with my condo association and current pest control company and really went above and beyond to make sure I was given as much helpful information as possible. So again, though I will not be a customer of Holiday Termite & Pest Control, I am very touched with how Cleveland cared enough to educate me on the ins and outs of pest control problems. Next the technician who answered was both knowledgeable and helpful. He asked a few questions to ensure he understood the problem and immediately schedule me for a service the next day. He also asked when I was available and explained when they would arrive. And they actually arrived at the time the told me and called prior to confirm. This pest company has the BEST customer service I have had the pleasure of dealing with in a long time. I started using Holiday Pest when we moved to the area last year, for our rental. They were recommended among the military spouse community, and they offered a military discount (thank you!!). Every little bit helps, and we are grateful for the consideration. Since the beginning, the company has sent employees out anytime we needed them in between service, which hasn't happened but once. They are incredibly knowledgeable about the insects, and the products. I love that the first priority is to treat the exterior, not interior. Every employee we have encountered has been pleasant, professional, courteous, I could go on. We purchased a home, and will now continue to use their stellar services.
