Since we last used Mark, his base price has gone up a bit to $59 but it's money well spent. He's professional and easy on the nerves. He's extremely dependable. What other places call an 'estimate' means they estimate what you are willing to pay for a repair vs buying a new machine. I thought our washer was toast. I thought I'd destroyed it. Mark found the problem instantly, fixed it and told me to avoid the problem in the future. He's a local guy and runs a business based on treating the customer well for a fair price. My dryer stopped drying so I called Home Appliance Service yesterday late morning based on good Yelp reviews. The guy on the phone was very friendly and said he could come the next day. He explained there would be a $49 charge to evaluate the problem but if we decided to have him do repairs that would be put towards the repair. Seemed fair to me... and cheaper than Sears which charges $149. Mark called this morning to make sure I'd be home. He showed up and was very professional, friendly and helpful. He found the problem right away - showed me the broken part and explained how it broke. He told me the cost of the repair and it seemed very reasonable. He had the part fixed within 10 minutes and even gave me some tips - he said my dryer hose was crunched up b/c the dryer was too close to the wall so if we pull it away a bit it will dry faster. If I could give no stars, then I would. First of all, I had a microwave that needed repair. I called this guy Mark to come fix it. He wanted $400 for the repair, then he called me and told me that the unit needed to be replaced completely because the part was no longer available. I called a different repair place, and the guy, named Marc by coincidence, was able to fix it. He said it only needed a couple of parts that he was able to get within a couple days. He fixed it for $250 less than the other guy and I didn't have to buy a new microwave wall oven unit. Call American Appliance Services. I will from now on. read more

The dryer stopped drying, so we called Home Appliance Service because their sticker was on the back of it. They came out a few hours later, fixed the dryer immediately, and while I have no point of reference for how much such a thing should cost, it didn't seem to be unreasonable. As promised, I'm updating the former review. Mark did return the third time, promptly, when he said he would. Initially, some of the issues seemed to be there after his third departure, but they then settled down and at this point we are content. My husband changed a vent at Mark's suggestion. I had stopped payment on the initial check until we were satisfied that his repairs resolved the problems called on initially and the subsequent ones that appeared after his initial visit. Before leaving on two weeks of vacation, we sent him a check assuming that all would be well when we returned home. At this point, we have paid Mark, have spoken to him, and the issues seem to have resolved themselves with some time, perhaps settling in. We would say that in the future, do call Mark...he is good for his word...arrives when he says he will and does good followup. We will not hesitate to call him given where we are at the moment. read more

My dryer decided to stop drying one day. I put off fixing it for a week or so...I guess I was hoping it would fix itself. By the time I decided enough was enough, I realized my schedule was packed for the next week. The only available time I had was in a few hours. So I called around 3p.m. for a 4:30 p.m. appointment and they were nice enough to squeeze me in that late in the day. The guy who came out was very nice and must have fixed my dryer in under 20 minutes. The price was very reasonable and worth every penny of it. You should shut down your service center if it will continue to operate this poorly. 2 ,issued time windows on different days, with phone calls after the windo telling me they might be there in 1.5 hours. Home Appliance Service (Mark) is the best. As a property manager I've had occasion to use a multitude of appliance repair services, and Home Appliance is the first one I call. He's been able to save several appliances by getting replacement parts when others were telling us they needed to be replaced. He's fast, he's reasonable, and he does what he says he's going to. I called Home Appliance Service for my dryer repair. Mark came out and I let him know the dryer was only 3 years old and it was making loud noises when it was turned on. He said it was the bearings and he needed to order new bearings for it and it would take a week. I asked how much was this going to cost. He said it would be $230 for the service call and part and I could pay him when he comes back. A week turned into 2 weeks with no communication along the way. He finally calls arranges to come back with the part. He took the dryer all apart and in the process of repairing the dryer, he broke the blower wheel and said he would now need to order that part and it would take a week for that. He leaves my dryer torn apart and says I will be back in a week. Finally, he comes back and I notice the "new part" appeared to be an old or used "yellow" part, like it had been sitting on shelf in the sun for a few years. He proceeded to fix the dryer and then said " I forgot what I told you the cost was going to be". I said I wrote it down to be $230 like you told me on the first visit. He said "No you didn't add on the blow wheel that I had to replace", I said "I didn't break the blow wheel, YOU did and I should NOT be charged for a part that YOU broke". He said, "No, you still have to pay for anything I need to repair in your dryer because I came to fix your dryer in your house and it happen during the repair". He then handed me a receipt which was not itemized for the service call nor any of the charges for the parts. It was just a total. He told me the extra blow wheel would be $40, and then charged me $50 for it when he wrote up the total receipt.... a total of $280. Talk about BAD customer service all the way around. No communication, 3 weeks to fix, didn't take responsibility for the part HE broke in the process, overcharged me even based on the numbers HE SAID! I wrote the check to get him out of my house and will never use him again and would never recommend him to anyone. read more

I called yesterday, New Year's Day, for a broken refrigerator. Mark answered and after listening to the problem, said he would be out the next day between 9 and 11 am and would call first. Mark called about 30 minutes prior and arrived on time and my refrigerator was fixed within the hour--he had the correct part in his truck.
