Awesome experience today. It started a bit rough but I got through it. Got to browse the Halloween items. They've got so much yard stuff. Check out the pictures. I took a bunch. Buttttt my main reasons for coming in today was to purchase a battery replacement for my Ryobi weed wacker, purchase and outdoor shed and check out the small lawn mowers. I was banking on the customer service to get these big items to my truck. Upon entry there's a tata standing at the inner part of the entrance door with a big bottle of hand sanitizer, offering to spray everyone's hands when they enter. I asked where the outdoor shed were located and he said in front of the garden area. I didn't recall seeing it there. I eventually went and looked and it wasn't there another employee gave me the same directions. I found the sheds already assembled in the parking lot for you to look at. You take a photo or write down the sku # then take it inside. They'll check if it's in stock, ring you up then call someone to grab it. We had a hard time getting ahold of the garden Dept. Nobody was answering the phone. The self checkout cashier and myself went over and found someone. They asked me to get the table top loader. I grabbed one from outside and they went about getting my items and eventually we made it to the exit. It took a little time and patience but I am so happy with being able to get help and get exactly what I came for. They called the loaders. I pulled my truck up front and they loaded it for me after asking me how I wanted them to place the items. I was a happy camper and left with a smile on my face. I went around 10:30 am on a Saturday. USED item for FULL PRICE!! Needed a reel mower since the flat parts of our lawn are small. The Scotts 16 in reel mower seemed like a decent buy for the price and based on some online reviews. In my opinion it is. Unfortunately the specific Scotts mower I purchased turned out to be USED! There was dirt in the treads of the large wheels, scratches on the rollers for the back, handle pads were bent and there were washers missing. It seemed like everything was there for it to be operable, plus the one I bought was the last one, even though the app said there were 5 left. I have bought countless items from Lowe's, home appliances, power tools, tool sheds, plants, shelving, even artificial Christmas trees and decorations, not once was I let down. Recently my parents asked for a new washer so I went down to The Home Depot after checking out another store. It was getting to about closing time and they were still busy in the appliance section which is a good sign. After looking through their inventory, I flagged down one of their appliance specialists to help answer some questions. His name was Danluo and was quite helpful in explaining the promotions going on at the time and giving us the measurements of the washer. Since they were closing, I decided to weigh the options and measure first before making any purchase. I went home and ran the numbers of the washer I was planning to purchase. Both stores had the exact model so it came down to the final purchase price. Ultimately, The Home Depot was a few dollars cheaper so I decided to purchase it from them. Yes, I know...it's only a few dollars but hey, a dollar saved is a dollar earned! The next morning, I had just enough time between meetings to run down and purchase the washer. Danluo wasn't working but Masa assisted me with the purchase. He was extremely helpful and friendly which is the reason why I'm updating my review to give them 5 stars! Masa spent time to go over and explain everything in detail which gave me great confidence that I made the right choice in purchasing here. He went above and beyond right before checkout by asking his supervisor for additional discount! Hamid was the supervisor on duty that approved an additional 10% off! So on top of the promotional 10% off, I received another 10% off the item! Then when I thought it couldn't get any better, I got the hoses for the washer at about 35% off from retail price! Total savings was about $200 from the other store and I love this Masa guy now. Will definitely go back to him at The Home Depot for all my future appliance purchases! read more

All we needed was a new washer & dryer to be installed into our apartment.. the 2 men who were on duty to do the job were helpful but then turned out to be BULLSHIT. We only got one of their names & its Tui, which is the main guy we talked to. They claimed to not be able to finish the installation because of the way the dryer duct was & the outlet needed to be reviewed for safety reasons, understandable but instead of taking back the appliance, THEY LEFT IT IN THE MIDDLE OF OUR HALLWAY. Claimed they'd come back but ended up LEAVING THE JOB LOL. Next day, we finally get ahold of whoever the manager is around 2pm to which he was no help at all.. While trying to explain our situation, his response was "sorry i can't help, i'm already finished for the day" ???? I'll admit I'm not your handyman and not good at fixing things at home. I tend to have people come to my place and do it for me. I don't believe in trying to do something that I have either no clue or think I understand what to do. It's easier and less stressful so I end up hiring someone... With that in mind, one would think I don't have a need to come here but have realized the prices here are awfully good. May it be home cleaning items, flowers, plants or even a garden hose - - Home Depot pretty much has what you're looking for!!! I've realized Home Depot puts customer service at a high-level. As you enter the store, you will see many people in orange aprons walking around. They usually greet you with a friendly smile and ask you if everything is okay. They are very friendly and therefore, easy to approach if you cannot find what you're looking for. I also like the self check-out lines here. It is very convenient and user friendly. Sure saves some time over the old-fashioned stand in line until it's your turn. Through a colleague at work, I was advised to come here to buy appliances as the prices as well as the maintenance contracts are very economical. I was just about to buy a new refrigerator at Sears (earlier this year) but browsed through the sales ad for Home Depot. The prices here are very competitive and what shocked me was how much cheaper the maintenance contracts are at Home Depot. Eventually I did not buy a new refrigerator but I'll be sure to put Home Depot high on my list. Parking is ample here and great to shop in the evenings where it's quiet and empty. read more

Shout out to Louis or Luis who helped me today at the key section 1/12/21 7:35PM. I really appreciate you coming swiftly after being called, being super personable and efficient. Took less than 5 minutes to make 4 keys. Back story: I was standing there idk.. 10-15 minutes AFTER the first worker finished someone else's key. He asked if I needed to make a key and then quickly ran off when I said "yes please"....... I saw him come back into the aisle and pretend to look for something but then left again while I was STILL standing there. Older Asian gentleman with glasses I believe. I still can't believe it. I waited because I thought maybe he went to the restroom but when he came back up the aisle "looking" for something and then left again I was over it. How does a person rate a hardware store? Does it have tools? yes...tons. Does it have the right tools? usually (and more importantly they can and will order just about anything you need/want.) Good custormer service? most of the time, we have not had a problem with friendly service and willingness, but the last time, the young guy with the fauxhawk definitely didn't seem to enjoy his job. but he was one person. Are the hours good? yup Home Depot gets an above average mark for its selection, customer service, and for the cute little kid workshops. Not sure if their understaffed because every person I see usually has three people waiting to be helped and the store looks pretty empty. They have a pretty large gardening department. I'm a condo owner not a house owner so what I need as per do it yourself home improvement stuff is limited. I would say most of the time its cosmetic interior stuff I get. First of all, HUGE KUDOS to Bronson, Mike and Cameron for helping us with our many questions we had on the Vinyl Horizontal Blinds and for pleasantly and expertly cutting them to the length we needed; to Ryan, Ken K. and Sean for their help for all our bathroom faucet fixture selections, to sliding door locks and door lock questions and supplies; to Sohoray for her expertise with her knowledge in paints, she made it easier for us to decide and choose the right color, even gave us suggestions on how different brushes can do different things and lastly to Marlene Mahealani for her endless help with our selection of bathroom mirrors, bathroom medicine cabinets and our biggest ticket item, the water heater! When you order custom $15000 Appliances on April 27th, and are advised May 15th delieivery thats awesome. And if on May 11 you get san email advising to get ready for the appliance delivery its exciting! Then another email on May 13 that appliances re back ordered and new date in June 15, its a bummer, considering you "got ready" and donated all your old appliances, its a real bummer. Then When June 13 rolls around and you get ANOTHER email saying July 15th you know its not good. Their customer service has gone down the hill. Needed to make copies and rekey a key, had an associate call for the key person (after she radio in, threw her walkie radio into the cart) Proceeded to wait over 10 min then finally we went and found an employee to help but he turns around and said the main key guy went on break and that he couldn't help us. Is this some kind of joke? Apparently there's three key employees but only one of them could actually help us with rekeying. Not to mention that we had overheard the employees tell each other that we were irritated and in they words "having a bad day." First off, not one single employee on the floor came up to us to ask us if we needed assistance. I have to rave about Luciano who is an associate at the Alakawa Home Depot. I have been renovating my home for the past couple of months, and notice that mostly all of the Home Depot workers ignores the customers. They seem to think that if they don't make eye contact with the customers, then the customers don't see them. I'm so serious about that! Until tonight, when I see Luciano who is confined to a wheel chair. His customer service is impeccable I swear!! He is so respectful and went out of his way to chase me down to assist me. His customer service is natural, as he is such a respectable and professional man! You can try and teach this, but if it ain't in you already , most people can't learn respect and being kind! Purchased a chain saw and a shop vacuum from them online. Both items showed multiple units in the store. After purchasing them online they told me hours later that the items were not in stock and a refund has been issued. No problem except it takes 3-5 business days for the refund to post. I now have over $300 tied up for items I never received. It sis poor business practice to charge a customer for something you DON'T have. I wouldn't recommend placing an order with them online. There inventory system is poorly maintained and highly inaccurate. I'll be taking my business to Lowe's who has much better customer service and better online inventory tracking. read more

Appliance department very very poor service. Tried to buy a coin washer and 2 guys said ok but 1 guy overrided them and kept making excuses as to why I shouldn't get one. Is he a salesman ? No. Was he helpful? No. He asked, is it indoor or out? I said why? He then gave excuses as to why it was bad, both indoors and outdoors!! Then he said , if you try to change the coin amount, it'll break the mechanism. It was set at $1 . All the other machines I looked at was set at $1.50. Was this a 10 yr old machine? I leave the hardware store to the hubby, my favorite section in the store is the gardening area. I love that they have a special section for native plants and trees to encourage residents to restore indigenous flora in their yards. We've purchased everything from sod to tropicals to herbs, and everything has been good quality and flourished in my yard. From my limited observations, pricing is higher for specialty plants than what you would find at a nursery, but the quality has always been good. I've recently began an herb garden, and Home Depot has supplied it with basil and different kinds of mint, including strawberry and chocolate mint. I like to visit regularly in order to see the new inventory, and recently was surprised to see some gorgeous lipstick palms for sale. Pricey, but I hadn't seen them for sale before and they were large specimens and in great condition. read more

This review is for the tool rental area. Was ignored by the 2 employees working behind the desk. When others walked up to the area, they were quickly greeted and helped immediately. Finally had to speak up and kind of be a jerk about the fact that we had been waiting there WELL BEFORE the other 2 folks arrived. Then of course, got the attitude from the employees for speaking up. Guess we didn't look "local" enough for them to give us the time of day. Time is money - hubby is a contractor and they wasted a lot of his time because they refused to wait on us. We ordered custom blinds in August. Multiple delays and absolutely no communication about the delays. We had to call. We even went into the store to check after waiting three months and no word and they weren't even able to provide us with an update and didn't even seem to care. They finally came to install them yesterday and surprise surprise they didn't fit. Not just a little off they were ridiculously off. Called to talk to the store manager who has dodged all our calls since we started calling about the colossal shit show. Never shopping there again. What I like about this store is they have pretty much everything you need. The workers are helpful as in showing you where it is or even taking you there. Honolulu Home Depot sold me a defected propane gas tank! The valve of the propane gas tank was broken and fly out to the sky when we try to turn it on, good think we didn't start the fire yet; otherwise, could cost explode.
