Home Eat inside Great mall in Milpitas is a solid chinese eatery for a day today bite for a quick lunch. Their packaging is consistent but the food is not. I love the hot and sour soup from here. The soy sauce noodles are basic but not doughy which I like and lot better than Chinese fast food. The crispy chicken was all dough and hardly any chicken. The taste was good but there was no protein in the dish. My go to is their noodles in combination with chicken as a protein. Last time they were generous to send some seasame balls ina. Small box. That was thoughtful! My lunch today was Broccoli chicken with soy sauce noodles. Too much Brocolli and giant pieces too. Good amount of chicken as well. The noodles are always less in quanity. A special drink was included in the lunch special and it was nice and sweet. It was passion fruit juice. I was not allowed to make changes to my drink on the third party platform though. I will continue to order their hot and sour soup!

Great food! I came with my mom here for dinner. We have the Menu 1 plate combo that comes with 2 entrees and a side. I got broccoli, orange chicken, and egg plant tofu. My mom got half noodle, half broccoli, shrimp with walnut, and green beans dish. We finished everything. I also got a lemon drink which was refreshing. All in all, I have been to all the locations of Home Eat in the Bay Area. This location is inside Great Mall food court. Plenty of seats at the food court. Service is fine. Ambience is fine.

60 Explosive Chili Pepper Chicken. Too spicy, not edible

I visited and enjoyed Home Eat branches in Cupertino and Sunnyvale, I was excited to see their counter at the Milpitas Great Mall food court. Who knows, this was my worst experience. I had Chili Fried Chicken, which was overly spicy with absolutely no other flavor, give up after one bite. Shrimp Pork Wontons were also bad with very thick, doughy skins and a tasteless filling. Their monthly promo drinks item were either too sweet, or too watery, it was pre-mixed and no way to adjust sugar or ice level. Won't be back.

They offer delivery at several locations and are available on DoorDash!

Our friend said this is her family's favorite place to order for parties, I didn't know what everyone would like, so I said, surprise us! She ordered the Salted Egg Yolk Fried Chicken Wings, Combination Chow Mein, Special Pork Bone and Tianjin Eggplant for us to share family-style. All of their dishes are made fresh to order and I could taste the love they put into them! 5/5 stars! Thank you to our friend Daisy T for getting DoorDash from their Milpitas location and welcoming us into your home! They have several locations that I would love to check out, especially the inside! SYOY! :-)

Amazing food and service. Fast and convenient, definitely check them out. Authentic Chinese food.

Great value for the cold dish options - 2 items for $7.99. Big portion, fresh and authentic

Service was self serve, order from the device and you will be called upon when your order is ready. They also have a point and grab menu which is faster if youre in a rush. It is located at the food court of Greatmall so expect any food court atmosphere, depending on the season, it can get pretty crowded. Food is good, they have the point and choose ala Panda Express, but they also offer a cold, section and food that they make when you order it. I'm glad they have a place like this in the food court!

I've had mixed experiences. I've had good experiences when I've ordered food already cooked. I've had not so good experiences ordering food cooked to order. I've had good experiences ordering their combination plates. I've had not so good experiences with their noodle soups.

The shrimp is great , good quality, nice service, with good price, I would recommend this to my friends and will come again in the future

I was surprised/happy to see home eat at the great mall. They have a pretty formidable presence in the Bay Area with several restaurants already. They are in the food court section in the great mall and occupy the space of almost 2-3 regular sized stalls. They offer cold and hot dishes, the hot dishes are similar to Panda Express style. On top of that they also have their regular menu offerings including all the specials they offer on a weekly/monthly basis at their other restaurants. I got the special for the week- salt and pepper fried fish. It was an instant gratification for some cravings after my long walk through the mall. It was delish but undeniably greasy. I ended up with a tummy ache after I devoured 5 of the fish pieces. Anyway, fish itself was soft and well cooked, outside was crispy. No weird fishy smell and the fish was tossed in some aromatics.

    Fried rice + 2 entrees

Home Eat is located at the food court in Great Mall and offers both fast food takeout and more restaurant like to go options. For their entree boxes, think of Panda Express but higher quality. You can order a base of fried rice or chow mein and then add entrees. They don't skimp on the portions here and pile it on really high. The entree box was just standard to us. The fried rice was on the blander side but I didn't have high expectations given its fast food style. The broccoli beef had more broccoli than beef so I was missing some of that protein but tasted pretty standard. The mapo tofu on the other hand was pretty good; it carried a spicy sichuan flavor profile that I wasn't expecting so it had a good kick. The portion for the price is a steal though and you can also add a soft drink to it. What I really liked was ordering from their kiosk where things are made to order. If you have time to wait the food comes out fresh. We ordered some salt and pepper wings and they did not disappoint. They were piping hot, crispy, juicy and tender, and had great flavor. Portion size was large, too. Would definitely come back for the wings and to try more things from their menu. Overall, lots of options to choose from whether you're in a hurry or can wait!

Full scale restaurant in the mall. Pleasantly surprised that they have so much to offer. Ended up getting beef chow fun, hot and spicy noodles soup, the shredded potato salad and the beef and tripe. I really liked the food but my spice tolerance level is not there. Everything was too spicy for my tolerance level. I loved loved the shredded potato salad but could only have so much. The hot and spicy noodles were filling but had to split it over a couple of meals as it was too spicy. Also tried their beef wrapped rolls. It was nice but I would prefer to have a bit more hoisin sauce in there. Overall, will need to come back and try different things on their menu and love their concept of having a full scale restaurant in the mall and don't' have to worry about the tipping policy.

    Combo plate, $11.99 6-piece chicken wings, $7.99

IMHO We had 90 minutes to kill before our "Wicked: For Good" movie time, so we headed to the Great Mall Food Court. My daughter found Home Eat, and after being offered a sample of their orange chicken, (yummy!), we decided to share a combo plate of fried rice, orange chicken, and green beans w/chicken, $11.99. We added a 6-piece side of chicken wings, $7.99, and one bottled water, $1.99, for a total of $24.02. The food was hot and delicious. We even had leftovers! Yeah, if I'm ever back in the Great Mall Food Court again, I'd hit up Home Eat again.

It is next to the Hui Lau Shan, which is great when we want dessert after This restaurant is very unique, as most of the dishes main component is mushrooms, which provide a different umami taste than regular dishes. We have tried the crispy silkworms, tom yum fried chicken, beef noodle soup, mushroom hot pot, chicken liver pate and yao tiao, laksa fried rice, stir fry cheung fun, wild mushroom conserva. Out of everything, I definitely recommend the tom yum fried chicken, mushroom hot pot and the laksa fried rice! Although the fried chicken doesn't have tom yum flavor, they fry the chicken very well, and the tom yum dipping sauce is on pointtt. The mushroom hot pot is definitely a favorite of mine. They give a lot of food -- it is warm, comforting. The broth also has a lot of flavor as well. The fried rice is definitely a top fave. They do a wonderful job incorporating the wok hei, which not a lot of restaurants can do. It is very present throughout the rice, and elevates the rice past the laksa flavor. The pineapple was a great touch and give it a hint of sweetness. I would pass on the wild mushroom conservative. It feels like they just stirfry it in butter, and that was it. I like the silkworm, but I know it's not for everyone. It is crunchy and it tastes kind of like peanut butter LOL. it is a great appetizer. I'm glad this place offers it. I think I've gotten a couple drinks -- alcoholic, and non-alcoholic. Also one of their ice creams. They didn't really leave a standout impression on me but still good to try!

It's a good thing we did because the restaurant filled up completely 5 minutes after ordering. The inside of the restaurant is clean and modern, they have some art up on the wall that was cool to look at. The food was definitely the star though. We tried the BBQ pork and shrimp noodle rolls. Both were really good but my favorite was still the shrimp. I loved the veggies in the roll too. They can be a bit hard to pick up and eat because they're massive and cut into thirds. Other than that, the rice noodles are thin and silky and hold the sauce nicely. The sauce is also delicious. We also ordered the fish congee which was simple but comforting. It comes out PIPING hot so don't burn your tongue. Fish was tender and flavorful. Overall no complaints and the service was quick. Highly recommend!
