The place is spacious with several tables and on a Saturday evening there were plenty of tables and no wait. We were seated immediately. Scan the QR code for the menu. We got the Japanese tofu sizzling plate, chongqing style spicy noodles, and achoy sautéed in garlic. The Japanese tofu was definitely our favorite of our meal. It came out sizzling on a plate and each piece of tofu was silky soft inside with a savory and umami sauce on the outside. Perfectly balanced and seasoned. The chongqiing noodles were okay - tasted fine but didn't blow us away. I thought it would be spicier and more numbing but it wasn't too spicy. The noodle texture was normal and the flavor felt like it could use something more. The achoy with garlic was good although I personally felt it could use a little more garlic. The staff do walk around and so you can flag someone down if you need someone. They won't bother you much during your meal. No American Express accepted here, only visa and Mastercard. This is just a review on their food as my company did a catering lunch with them. The menu included bean paste beef which is spicy beef slices with soft tofu, braised chicken which is chopped chicken with bones braised in a brown sauce with potato, salt and pepper tofu, shredded potato with spicy sauce, and garlicky choy sum. We were told that the spiciness was toned down from their regular menu and I was able to handle the spicy beef with tofu although I'm really not good at eating spicy food. Still it's spicy, but the ingredients are generous, especially the beef. I don't like the braised chicken just because the chicken pieces have bones. The salt and pepper tofu is the worst because there's not so much salt and pepper flavor but mainly dried tofu. The garlic choy sum is tasty, the veggie are cooked softly and juicy yet not overly oily. Given that it's a spicy cuisine, I'll probably not visit the restaurant myself. read more

Solid 4.5/5! We had friends visiting from out of town who were really craving Ma Po tofu, and we're glad we chose this place. Of course we ordered the Ma Po tofu, which was served sizzling on a hot stone plate. It was nicely numbing rather than overly spicy, though I personally wished it was a bit more savory. We also ordered the stir-fried beef with vegetables and asked for it to be non-spicy, our 3.5-year-old loved it and even ate the celery, which is pretty rare! Other dishes we tried included stir-fried pork with peppers, stir-fried bean sprouts with egg and glass noodles, and stinky tofu. The stinky tofu was my favorite, took me straight back to China with the first bite. We were a little surprised that rice was charged separately, but it tasted good. Succulent chunks of tender pork belly, quail eggs, and tofu puffs in a delicious fragrant sauce; not spicy but tasty nonetheless. Everything else was also good but I will say that I've had better versions of these dishes at other restaurants. Still, not bad at all. I actually found that everything tasted even better as leftovers. My only suggestion is for them to add more numbing spice to their dishes to replicate that signature Sichuanese flare. The crispy fried nuggets of lamb were served with a spicy pepper toss. It's not heavily sauced and it's not sweet. It's just peppery good. The service was gracious and the food arrived promptly. I must say that the portions are extremely generous. These two dishes plus rice could've probably served three people. You'd probably need to ask for an extra bowl of rice. Yum, I love spicy food. I was excited to come here when I saw that they're tagged as being a szechuan place. I love the addicting numb spice that comes with szechuan food. We really enjoyed the mapo tofu. It came out boiling hot and stayed hot the entire meal. When they brought out the noodle soup bowl, I was intoxicated by the fragrant smell of sesame oil. While this beef noodle soup is not the spicy kind, we asked for chili oil and it was delicious. The texture of the noodles were perfectly bouncy and fresh. The meat was pretty tender, but some of the more cartilagey pieces could have used more cooking time. There is definitely something comforting about the soup despite it not being the spicy beef noodle soup we were craving. All in all, a solid place to grab a bite. I'll definitely be back for their mapo tofu. If you're only going to get one dish, I highly recommend the mapo tofu.
