It is one of the best slices you can get in Austin. But the bar isn't super high for pizza in this city IMO. :/

We have been to Home Slice several times since moving to the Austin area last year. I concur with the majority of Yelpers... the place is fantastic! We usually stick with the pepperoni pizza and occasionally add the garlic knots... both have been consistently delicious. Also, we have never encountered an unfriendly staff member at this place. All employees go the extra mile to ensure a pleasant dining experience. The only downside is the long wait you are bound to encounter if you attempt to dine here at peak hours, but that is to be expected at any trendy restaurant in a city the size of Austin. We tried to go on a Saturday night a few weeks ago, the wait for a party of 3 was 1 hour and 50 minutes. We ended up heading to the Home Slice To Go shop next to the main building and ordered our food there. We ate it while sitting at the chairs outside of the building, which of course was not ideal, but we still had a great time and enjoyed the food. On the flip side, my daughter and I ate there today (Friday at about 11:30 AM) and we were seated immediately. If you have a chance to eat here, you definitely should take advantage of it. You will not regret it. This is, hands down, the best pizza in Austin (and maybe anywhere). read more

Decent pizza...individual slices aren't so great, so I recommend getting an entire pizza. Plan cheese does the trick each & every time. Meatball & tomato slices aren't so great. I'd try the arugula & Spanish or pepperoni. read more

We have always been to the "more" home slice Pizza which is right next to the Home Slice Pizza. It is a great option if you just want to grab a quick bite without having to dine-in. They usually have pepperoni, cheese and margherita slices and then their specials. I really like the margherita slice that they offer. The pizza is really fresh and have never been disappointed the number of times I have been there. read more

Wife and I walked in on a Friday afternoon at 4:30 and surprisingly got seated right away. We split a medium #6 sausage, peppers, and ricotta. The crust was thin, chrispy and chewy, and awesome. The toppings were very good except the ricotta was a little bland and the proportion was a little too much ricotta. Can't compare to Pizza Regina in Boston (best pizza ever), but overall a solid option. Would be nice if they had prosciutto or Canadian bacon as topping options. read more

Pizza was delicious as always. If we could've tipped the guy who brought us our pizza or the hostess who seated us, we would've. Katherine E. On the other hand didn't get tipped. My son and his fiancée both have worked in the service industry, so I'm always an excellent tipper. Unfortunately, Katherine E. never once asked how our food was, thanked us for our patronage and when my son asked for a drink refill, she stopped and swept the floor before she got his drink. Yes, Sunday afternoons are busy, but the complete lack of interest in how our visit was going, lead us to acknowledge that lack of service without leaving a gratuity, something we never do. I wanted a serve by the slice place and they were just around the corner. The pizza was good and made fresh. Big, thin slices, sat at the bar and they have beer on tap. The only complaint I have is, when ordering by the slice, you can only choose from what they have and no add-ons. But other than that it was good. read more

I've been to the Home Slice location in Central Austin and I love the atmosphere and the pizza. I was a pizza-holic at Home Slice.

I've eaten there since day one and it's ridiculously good. The staff is excellent, the place itself reminds me of Old School pizza places like the ones I grew up going to in New Haven. And without question the absolute best chicken parm sandwich I've ever had. Don't let anyone lie to you and tell you there is a better place for pizza and grinders in Austin because there is not.
