I have been here several times and it's definitely a place I will go back to fill my belly. My favorite dinner dishes are the Shrimp and Grits and the Little Korea Romesco. If I'm there for lunch, my favorite go-to is the Shrimp Po Boy. I never turn down a family outing here. And when I have friends looking for a place to go out and eat, I'm, of course, suggesting we go to Homestead. Oh, and don't forget to order the brussel sprouts. Based on the menu prices we assumed this would be a nicer restaurant and we were excited to go here on date night and spend our hard earned money. Walked into a loud, crowded, very casual place. Which is fine, restaurants can't control patron noise level and dress of course...but does not match the prices. Ordered a glass each of the Bonanza cab ($10-12 for a glass can't remember exactly, but the bottle on a shelf at the store is $10) and the server came back a few minutes later to tell us they were out. You don't have the cheapest cab in stock? We decided to leave as nothing on the menu looked tasty on the yelp photos and we just had a feeling this would end up being a terrible experience if we stayed. We came on a Friday night for our anniversary. Kyle was our server and was very friendly and attentive to us. The food was great and came out quick. We ordered the Brussels sprouts for an appetizer, which was really good with the pickled melon. I had the shrimp and grits and my husband the salmon. Both were dishes were delicious. Good location. Food ok. Service terrible. We did repeatedly for our server, menus, our meal to be brought to the table. Thought there would be a decent brunch menu. It's basically a lunch menu. The prices are a little high for the amount of food that you get. This place has potential but I think we'll try someplace else next time. read more

The food is decent but the service is pretty bad. My friend called to make a reservation for a Friday night at 7pm and they told her they had availability. We got there an hour early and went to the bar first for some drinks. The bar service was very slow and we had to ask several times for our drinks. At 7pm, my friend who made the reservation went to the hostess to check in. They had no record of her reservation. Luckily she had an email confirmation, which she showed them. They said they would get our table ready "right away," but that turned out to be 45 minutes later. Not a good first impression. read more

Last week I booked a table for my husband's birthday for Friday the 6th. I noted in the reservation that it was his birthday. We'd eaten here a few months back for brunch, and the food was so good we decided to try dinner. When we arrived the waitstaff was outside which felt.....odd. The hostess seemed a bit lost, and was wearing a dirty sweatshirt. She eventually showed us to a table in the bar under a broken light, and freezing because it was in front of the door. In addition it was so close to the other table we had to sit next to each other. The people at the neighboring table explained that they'd been seated there and asked to move. There were numerous empty tables, so we returned to the stand and asked to be moved. A different teenage girl insisted they were "fully booked" after hearing the explanation. At that point we decided to leave. It was too late to find a reservation elsewhere so we went home. A week later and I'm still extremely upset that my husband's birthday was ruined. I certainly wouldn't risk a special occasion on this place. read more

We had a wonderful dinner here. Our server Jonathan was a delight: attentive, offered excellent recommendations, and very friendly. We got the brussel sprouts and deviled eggs as apps. Both were delicious. My husband had the trout, my daughter and I got the shrimp and grits, and my son got a burger. Everything was amazing. The shrimp and grits was SO GOOD. This was my first visit to Homestead. I will go back because our server, Alicia was amazing. She gets 5 stars! We had a reservation, but there was a lot of confusion at the hostess station, and little communication with us. It seemed longer but we were seated within 5 - 7 minutes. We ordered drinks and an appetizer (bread bake which was excellent), and the drinks were ok. When we ordered our entrees, the person I was with asked to substitute a side. The manager refused to swap it out with no real explanation given, so she changed her order to the Romesco pasta with a piece of chicken added. The Romesco was very good. I ordered trout with risotto. The risotto was undercooked, and the trout was overcooked. Disappointing for a $34 entre. Since this was a birthday celebration, we ordered peach cobbler with ice cream. That was very good. Overall, it was ok. I will give it another try and will choose a different entre. read more

They need improvement of their service. Our waiter Nathan never came to refill our waters and we had to ask managers to assist. The food was very tasty and came out quickly though. Nice atmosphere. We went to Homestead today for brunch for the first time & it was so good! We had our kids & didn't ask for a kids menu, but since brunch is new there, they just came up with one on the fly without us even asking. My husband had the chicken & johnnycakes & the chicken was, hands down, the best either of us had ever had. I had the PBLT & it was good though I think I would've just enjoyed a BLT even more. The had the jalapeño Gouda grits with that & they were amazing! The service was all very friendly & food was quicker than I would have expected. We'll definitely be back! read more

Dark, lonely atmosphere. Food was underwhelming, service was slow. Would not recommend unless you want frozen food on a plate.

The food was decent, had two chicken sandwich items, one fried and the other grilled. Also had one cocktail and a beer and top. Total bill was 50 bucks plus tip. Service was good. IMO the entrees were price more like fine dining establishments but fine dining doesn't use metal plates. I have NEVER been to a more mismanaged restaurant in my life! We went there for the Mother's Day "brunch". It was a complete disaster and put a major damper on my special day. We specifically choose this restaurant because of the special brunch menu. When we got there our server informed us that they we completely sold out of EVERYTHING on the brunch menu. Seriously?!? You advertise a special brunch menu, yet have NOTHING that you advertised. They were even out of half the dessert options. Absolutely RIDICULOUS!! The only options we had were their regular menu with appetizers, salads or sandwiches. Not exactly what I had been highly anticipating. Then to add insult to injury, we sat there for 2 hours waiting for our food, which never arrived. When we asked our server how much longer it would be she said she didn't know but probably another 45 minutes. Seriously?!? We had finally had enough and left. We ended up going to a pizza place down the street. Definitely NOT my idea of a Mother's Day meal. The customer service was also appalling. The attitude was like "oops our bad" without any real concern for our dining experience. Had we known this restaurant was this poorly prepared for Mother's Day, we never would've gone there. It's especially disconcerting because they knew it was going to be an extremely busy day. I heard the hostess tell someone that they were completely booked and had been the entire day.
