Excellent dinner! We ate here on a weeknight and it was our first time. We were seated by the bar which was cozy and quiet. The service was great and the food was even better. We shared the Bourbon Barrel Mussels and they were excellent. We each ordered something different so we could have several "samples" off the menu. I ordered the Shrimp Po Boy (fried option) and it was amazing. Shrimp cooked perfectly, very light breading and the smoked tomatoes put this over the top for me. My husband ordered the Pitchfork hamburger and it was huge! Cooked exactly to the temperature that he ordered it. Very juicy and delicious. My daughter ordered the Ranchero salad and she said her steak was cooked perfectly to her order and the salad was very fresh. We also had a cocktail, wine, and beer which were all great. All the staff we encountered were very pleasant and attentive. We will definitely be coming back to try some of the other offerings from their menu very soon. read more

The food was typical bar food. Not horrible but not great. It was the service that was pitiful. When you go to an app bar, if it's packed you expect a little slower service. But on Saturday night when the place is empty you would expect better service, not the case here. There is way too much wrong to list. I don't understand how this place got 4 stars. Mother's Day was a disaster in this place today. We had reservations at 12:30 but didn't get seated until about 1:00 PM. Server took a long time, and she's was the rudest, non apologetic customer service person ever. We never got utensils, nor the food. Spoke to Manager, nothing happened. We finally left at 2:00 PM without eating as we were told we were "9th on the board"?!! Totally unacceptable. 1 star because I could not give none. read more

Arrived when they opened. Service VERY slow, only one waitress for the entire restaurant for the first half of an hour. Waited 30 minutes to order food. Coffee Luke-warm, orange juice also warm. We had the two starters Chase suggested - Sliders and the Yellow Fin Tuna!!! Excellent start!! Then we had the shrimp and grits!! Huge flavor profile and delightfully unexpected combinations not often found in a shrimp and grits entree! A must try! 2nd visit and im still disappointed. The food is great! The Sawnee mtn sliders are FANTASTIC! The French dip and the Desperado are both delicious! What is lacking- first impression. The hostess are not welcoming or warm and that is your first chance to wow the customer. You pretty much have to force them to talk to you. The worst part- the bar. Drinks are awful. How do you mess up a Cosmopolitan?? It came out bright red and super sweet. Both visits! And how can you say that you can't make a Bees knees? It's gin honey and lemon. I would highly recommend hiring some well trained and knowledgeable bartenders because a good cocktail menu goes a long ways, especially with the amazing food you have! read more

This is disappointing to write. My husband I took our friend out to eat a few weeks ago hoping to have nice dinner and time to catch up. The food was very good - creative and flavorful. The service was good and our waitress was accommodating even though it was busy. The downside (and it was huge!) was the NOISE! It was totally obnoxious and impossible to carry on any type of conversation. (A party of 4 young men were seated behind us loudly discussing sports.) My friend was sitting directly across from me and we were shouting at each other in order to be heard. My husband actually got up and left the restaurant twice because he could not stand sitting there any longer. He did not even finish his meal. Perhaps there are too many tables placed too close together or a lack of soundproofing in the dining room. Either way we will not be back unless we can be sure we can sit in a quieter spot. It's expensive enough to eat out - no one wants to pay for hearing loss. read more

I hit a grand slam by taking my wife out on date night to Homestead restaurant in Cumming, Georgia this weekend. We started off with the Lobster Main Street sliders that set a very high bar for the entree. I chose the Shrimp and Grits and my wife chose the Apple and Goat Cheese salad with Grilled Chicken for our entrees. For dessert we chose the Cream Brûlée. Every bite was a delicious and amazing. Zack, the manager treated us like royalty and helped us choose a meal that was perfect for us. We are looking forward to returning to Homestead to enjoy another five-star dining experience. read more

Oh boy another place in the city center that is just not great. I don't understand how it's such a great location and the only good place is the brewery. Service: mediocre at best Starter: we just ordered the bread i guess they have a rotating "spread" ours was a mixture of cream cheese, ricotta, and corn. The flavor wasn't bad but the pairing was awful, just not something you would want to eat with rolls. It had the consistency of mash potatoes. Meal: i had "the desperado" which was just a fried chicken sandwhich. First off i can't stand when a sandwhich comes on a roll that is not toasted, total faux pas. The breading of the chicken was half gone, one side looked fried the other grilled, and on top two wonderful slices of unmelted cheese. Just poor commitment there. My wife had the trout which sounded very good. Coming from the food industry i would never serve a fish skin side up, yet that's what they did. It was probably to hide the fact that it was severely overcooked. The overcooked trout was served over a bed of undercooked risotto. The dry fish and crunchy risotto were a great waste of $38. Will not be going back just like many others in the city center. read more

Depends what yo is eat. Have good reports on the blue cheese burger. I got the shrimp po boy it was awful. Shrimp were decent bread was all wrong dense and uneatable. They put these smoked tomatoes on it They were awful. The only reason was the illusion of being a fancy restaurant which they are not. He somewhere else. read more

** Looks like someone else had the same horrible experience we did on the same night with the same girl** Went here two weeks ago and the food was great! Asked if they did online "to go" and my server let me know they did. Tonight @ 6:50pm I tried to go online to make an order and the website wasn't displaying the dinner menu. Called the restaurant and they didn't answer - no problem probably busy. Called again and got the rudest girl - my wife who just wanted the fried chicken was shocked by how rude the girl was being. My wife asked if she could just order on the phone since the website wasn't working and the girl sighed loudly and said "have you even tried the website?" At that point I took the phone and let the girl know we had already tried that and sorry to frustrate her but the website wasn't working. She proceeded to be rude and say "okay well it's gonna be like 15-20 minutes or actually it will be 10." - I'm thinking she means for the food to be ready but what she actually meant was this - "so I can call you guys back or I guess if you want to wait on hold." This was I guess her saying she could call us back in 15 minutes to take our order? She had NO intention of helping us with the order. The whole interaction was just horrible - we were ready to drop $100+ on the food but come on, we aren't going to BEG to give a restaurant money if they are going to be so dang rude. Just say we don't do take out - that would have been OKAY! Truly. But to say you do and then your staff is so rude to customers is honestly crazy. I let her know that we were actually good and then just took my wife to another restaurant. She would never leave a review but other people to need to know what to expect when you call this place read more

The food was good. Price was as expected for the farm to table type of restaurant. The decor was really interesting and they spared no expense in that area. Wine pour was decent. Ambience was a downer. We were seated at a table to the right of the entrance on a Sat night. The tables are so close you can barely get in to sit down. Then the ceiling is so high in that area it is extremely loud. There is nothing to capture the noise of a barn like atmosphere. Not pleasant if you are on a date or with another couple because of the noise from surrounding tables. The other side of the restaurant seems like it would be more pleasant and the outside balcony would be the way to go since it overlooks the area below including the amphitheatre. If I go back, I'll request a different seating area. The staff were very pleasant and attentive. read more

Went with a friend for brunch and the ambiance is always great- friendly staff, parking was good, and restaurant was clean. My friend enjoyed her traditional fare of scrambled eggs, bacon and home fries. We both loved the scrambled eggs- very fluffy and cheesy was melty good. No special drinks for us. I had the burrito bowl and server noted that I only wanted the ham as opposed to 3 meats. When the runner brought it out there was no meat (so scrambled eggs only). I asked the server if I could get the meat (any of them that were part of the bowl) in a small bowl and I would add in. (Of note-no one came out prior to my food to tell me it's all meat or none). Server brought out 3 sausage patties- and a $5 charge on the bill. When asked about it she said her manager advised that she ring it in that way. She did go back and talk to the manager who agreed to take this charge off. The food was great as was service and atmosphere- but this lack of communication that they wanted to charge to me was off putting. Over all the value is there for brunch - just watch for extra charges. (My friend was shocked with a $2 for cheese in her eggs-this is in the menu as an up charge) read more

I have been here several times and it's definitely a place I will go back to fill my belly. My favorite dinner dishes are the Shrimp and Grits and the Little Korea Romesco. If I'm there for lunch, my favorite go-to is the Shrimp Po Boy. I never turn down a family outing here. And when I have friends looking for a place to go out and eat, I'm, of course, suggesting we go to Homestead. Oh, and don't forget to order the brussel sprouts. Based on the menu prices we assumed this would be a nicer restaurant and we were excited to go here on date night and spend our hard earned money. Walked into a loud, crowded, very casual place. Which is fine, restaurants can't control patron noise level and dress of course...but does not match the prices. Ordered a glass each of the Bonanza cab ($10-12 for a glass can't remember exactly, but the bottle on a shelf at the store is $10) and the server came back a few minutes later to tell us they were out. You don't have the cheapest cab in stock? We decided to leave as nothing on the menu looked tasty on the yelp photos and we just had a feeling this would end up being a terrible experience if we stayed.
