Date night dinner- we loved it all. Food: we started with these amazing mini corn cobs that are seasonal/special and they were soooo good. My husband got the beet salad with steak and I got the normal salad with steak. Both were wonderful but my husband said the Beet Salad was one of the best salads he has ever had. Two different types of beets, mixed with arugula, creamy goat cheese and mid rate steak was the perfect combo for him. Service: our waitress was so good. She made great recommendations, checked on us often, told us about all the specials and was very delightful. Parking: plenty in cumming city center The place is newer and also has a rooftop bar but it was raining so we didn't get to see that but we've hear that is amazing as well. I went with a friend for lunch. The service was pretty good. The absolute highlight was the brussels sprouts. Four stars for sure. They were amazing. The other food was okay. I was going to take my son for dinner one night and just took a look at the menu online and they weren't on there. I called to ask about it and the woman that answered said her manager told her they were no longer in the menu. I have to say that I chose somewhere else to go. I just didn't feel like it would be the same experience without that dish. I hope they change their mind in the future. read more

We stopped by The Homestead and had a quick bite downstairs in The Well (bar area) on July 4th. The service was outstanding and our food was excellent. The owner, Matt, was very friendly and welcoming too. We're looking forward to checking out The Homestead restaurant (upstairs) and also plan to return for live music at The Well and concerts at the amphitheater (just outside the restaurant). read more

Not really sure how to rate this place. We liked it. Food was good. Atmosphere was cool - huge patio and we love a good patio. Service was meh. For a $200 bill we would have thought the server would have been more attentive. Drinks went empty. Husband had a steak but had to ask for a steak knife after spending approximately 10 minutes trying to cut it with the standard table knife. Overall. Will we back? I don't know. There are so many other nice restaurants that just have better service. read more

Service was good. The food was ok. I had the shrimp and grits. I was excited to try it because it was nothing like the traditional or typical shrimp and grits. It wasn't bad but not something I would try again. The jam took the dish to a place I don't need to go, but I respect the risk. For the 2nd year we have enjoyed having Homestead to cater our company Christmas party. We reserved the venue PopIn which is across the street from Homestead. The food was amazing. Everyone raved about the prime rib carving station. It was cooked to perfection. The chef did a wonderful job. The staff was very accommodating and pleasant to work with. We went for Brunch for my Father-In-Laws birthday this past Sunday. Our server was so sweet & pleasant. I wish I remembered her name. I ordered the scrambled egg, biscuit, & fresh fruit & it was really good. My husband had the biscuit & gravy & said they were average. He also had wings & those were good. One of my sons and my father-in-law had the pancakes and they said they were great! My mother-in-law and other son had the French toast and they said it's the best French toast they've ever had. It was on sourdough bread and had cream in the middle. The only negative was that my mother-in-law's meal came out 20 minutes after ours. The waitress apologized profusely, and the kitchen gave her 2 more pieces of French toast. One of the Staff called in sick. We sat upstairs & the ambiance was great! read more

I would like to start this off by saying I almost never leave reviews for places, no matter how bad the service. However this place really ground my gears. It started off with me showing up with a date, no reservations. So I completely expected a wait time which is no problem. The hostess had told us it would be about a 30 minute wait. I thought awesome, we can go grab a drink while we wait for the text to let us know our table is ready. However after about an hour went by with no text we decided to go back to the restaurant and see what going on. I wasn't annoyed or frustrated by any means at this point. I asked the hostess how much longer she thinks we'd be waiting. She then points to a table and says "as soon as this table leaves we will seat you there". Okay no problem, I said thank you with a smile and continued to wait. I see the people at the table leave after about 10-15 minutes. They then proceeded to clean the table(s) for the next 10-15 minutes after. The part that really got to me was when they sat 3 other parties down at said tables. At that point I was completely fed up with how my experience was. Almost 2 hours of waiting and then not getting sat at a promised table. read more

We are on the roof again... as always excellent service, fabulous dinner looking at the sunset. My boyfriend had the blackened chicken sandwich with fries! Real peeled potatoes. Their food is not good and it's very expensive. The service is decent, we liked our server the second time. The ambiance is what you come here for! Make sure you come when the roof top is open & don't come hungry, come here for drinks and a good vibe :) we enjoyed live music similar to Chris Stapleton and had a great time last time, but stopped to get food on the way home, as the food is just not good. We went here for Fathers day brunch. I understand being a holiday and we had a group of 7 that things get difficult but I'm pretty easy going. We made a reservation for 4 originally and they were gracious enough to up it to 7 when we had more people coming. We were seated promptly. I liked the ambiance. High ceilings with a barn feel. We got sat in a corner behind a wall which was actually nice as we felt a little secluded from everyone else. It was a little loud however. Wait staff came over. She was nice enough but no personality. Not a smile. I get her job can be tough and busy. But when you work for tips at least pretend you want to be there. She asked what we wanted to drink. One person said water and she said she'd bring out waters and then left. Ignoring that, being the morning, many people need their coffee. After 10 minutes we got waters than had to order the coffee. That was another 10 minutes. She gave us plenty of time to look over the menu. It is a nice variety for brunch and lunch. After about 15 minutes she took our order. Then the wait began. And waited. And waited. We didn't see her at all. No refills on drinks. A few people wanted to grab someone to find out what was going on. At had been 45 minutes since we ordered. Finally we got refills. More time goes by. I notice she walked by and looked at our table and noticed we had no food. I could see a disappointing look come over her face. A couple minutes someone came over, I'm assuming a manager, to let us know our ticket was next. We finally got our food an hour after ordering. Everything came out correctly. On to the food..... I got the Fox in the Henhouse. 2 eggs that were overcooked. Biscuit was fluffy but small. Taste was ok. Ham steak was ok. The hero of my meal was the gouda jalapeno grits. I loved them. The fruit. Was it just us? I know some people put salt on watermelon. But there was a heaping of salt on everyone's fruit which was grapes and melon. You could see it at the bottom of the bowl. The salt was so unnecessary and ruined the fruit. I had a bite of someones pancake and it was good. I've had better and worse. The sweet cream pancakes were huge. Piled high. Nobody complained or said anything else about the food so I guess that's a good sign. A little pricey but I knew that going in. And isn't everything pricey these days? Overall 3 out of 5 stars. If not for the wait for the food and inattentiveness of waitress I would've bumped it up a star. I almost always recommend for everyone to not just go by my words and try everywhere yourself. I would do the same with Homestead. But with the glut of breakfast places in Alpharetta and Cumming I would not come back for breakfast. I might, however, come back for lunch to try the Georgia BBQ Chicken Egg Rolls which sound amazing. read more

However we mentioned to the hostess that it was our anniversary when we made the reservation and she put a bunch of notes in our reservation but not one person mentioned it during our entire meal. For our appetizers, we had the Main Street Sliders and the Butternut Squash soup- both had unique flavor profiles & were so delicious. I chose the Apple & Goat Salad with grilled chicken as my main course, while my husband chose the Shrimp-n-Grits. My salad was loaded with apple bites, goat cheese, fresh greens, and a huge chicken breast! Our server was Abigail and she was very attentive to our needs. We even got to meet the manager, Zack. I ordered the shrimp po boy with a Caesar salad . The shrimp was undercooked . A few bugs flew out of my salad . So so disappointing because I was so looking forward to my lunch . The service was so slow and the waitress did not even react when i pointed out the bugs that were on the table . Had my birthday dinner here. Our first visit and it will NOT be our last. 6 folks and we had both steak options and Salmon and Cesar salad with Salmon. We are a critical bunch fo sho and everyone totally enjoyed their meal. Our server was energetic and friendly. She had the "Operations Manager" (who knew that job even existed) came out to wish me a Happy Birthday. Nice touch. Had the chocolate flaun dessert (compliments of the house) and it was delicious. Went for brunch today. Very slow and sullen service. The hostess who seated us was unkind and had a cranky attitude for no reason. The food took forever for our party of three. The waitress said it was "busier than they expected". The French toast was terrible, so avoid that, but the other food was pretty good. We'll put them in the penalty box for a few months and try again later when they have matured a bit with their staff. read more

I planned a birthday party with eleven guest. We were all very excited to try this new restaurant. The waiter was fantastic. The service exceeded my expectations. Three of my guest ordered food with caviar. One of the guest, left most of his food, while the other two had the pasta and caviar. Both of which were violently sick most of the night. I use the word "violently" because they were sick with horrible stomach pain, diarrhea and vomiting. I reached out to the restaurant and let them know that two of my guest had gotten sick. Not an apology, not a peep. Shame on them. Don't order the caviar. As a side note, the food needed more flavor. My three cents. Sorry not sorry. The thought was there but the execution has more work to do. The place is decorated nicely. There is a great view but I was not happy with my experience. the food was mid. I ordered three things that they didn't have in stock. Fine it happens but they never tried to compensate with anything to make up for my experience being diminished. When I finally did get food it was just ok. I don't recommend based on my experience but maybe it was just a bad day. read more

the host was so rude. we called after trying to place an online order which would not go through. from the start the lady who answered seemed to be frustrated or having a bad day. we placed a order of wings and 2 sandwiches. went to pick up the order and she accused my husband of already coming in to pick up the food, then pointed her finger at me and said I told you 50 minutes not 15. I'm baffled by some of the bad reviews on here. We tried Homestead for the first time today and I can finally say, there is hope for the City Center thanks to this place! The food was excellent. Service was very fast and personable. Kyle, our server, knew a lot about the menu and was prompt and friendly. The restaurant itself was also very nice. Impressed by the choices on the menu. You can tell each dish was carefully crafted with intention behind every ingredient. Excellent job! This place will be a staple for us going forward. Definitely give it a try. read more

The good: the salads were fresh and the dressing seemed homemade and good. Generally the food tasted good when we could eat it (see below). It is in a really cool area and has nice ambiance. The fries were good. The bad: the service was very slow. Our server was jogging through the restaurant and we weren't sure if it was a terrible layout, the server herself or how many tables she had, but everything was slow. 10 minutes to get greeted, probably 40 for food. They also left the sauce off my chicken sandwich. The ugly: they seemed to be out of a lot - their chicken appetizer and bacon. Who runs out of bacon? Some of the main dishes have bacon listed as an ingredient. Lastly, my wife's burger was pretty raw. They never asked a temp and on the menu it said the burger would be cooked through. It was not. She couldn't eat it. I like mine cooked medium and I don't think I could eat hers. read more

First impression. The hostess left us standing for over 5 minutes along with various other parties while she took a to go order on the phone. When we were sat, we never received water with our alcoholic beverages, even though we asked, and I think we saw our server twice throughout our experience. I nursed my one glass of wine for over an hour. Also, the table we sat at was right up on the tables in front and back of us, they are cramming too many tables in there, trying to accommodate guests that their staff can't handle. Take a couple of tables out, make it easier for your servers to attend their tables and give the customer some breathing room (literally a couple of tables removed would do the trick). For the food, the charcuterie board was ok, the Korean Romesco I got was rather tasty, but the Shrimp and Grits my husband got were inedible (he chewed on one shrimp for long enough that I almost peed myself laughing because of the expression on his face). He was going to power through it, but I feel very strongly that a kitchen can't fix a problem if they are unaware of what it is. The manager was courteous to my husband and took care of everything he could as far as his dish was concerned. Overall, I'm just left with an overall "meh" feeling about dining here. On the bright side, they have a lower level bar overlooking the park that we chilled at afterwards, and I wish that we had found it first. The service down there was outstanding and everyone was ordering burgers that looked and smelled amazing. Maybe we'll grab a bite to eat down there the next time we're in the area! read more
