    Our Handsome boy Beau. 2010-2023

Dr. Heller was kind & compassionate with our handsome boy, Beau. Dr. Heller was able to be there within hours (he was in green valley & offered to drive up that night to OV) and assess Beau's condition & confirmed he was having severe neurological issues due likely to lesions. Prior to calling him, I spent 8 hrs at the ER Vet. For several days his condition did not improve. Having a house call by Dr. Heller was a blessing for our family. Beau was able to be in a calm & stable location and we were able to get him evaluated without causing further stress or anxiety for Beau. I've had to let go of many animals over my lifetime, and this by far was the kindest and most dignified way to do it. It's already a stressful and painful experience, yet Dr. Heller was exceedingly kind & thoughtful throughout the process. Beau's ashes were mailed back to us in a week. I highly recommend Homeward Bound Services!!!! Thank you Dr. Heller for helping our sweet Beau pass peacefully. I did call another service (Peaceful Pet), the woman who answered was clearly in her car driving and distracted when talking to me. Even after telling her Beau was having seizures, she couldn't make it to my side of town for 2 MORE DAYS! If I did go with them, I'd had to go pick up my own ashes and it was more expensive than with Dr. Heller. She was not the person for us.

My Diogie dog. Go run, boy.

Dr. Heller is simply one of the most genuinely authentic people I've ever had the pleasure to meet. I've used his vet services for my great Dane who has Wobblers Syndrome a few times now. Yesterday he came out to show my 12-year-old terrier mix, Diogie, compassion by releasing him from the pain of oral melanoma. My nickname for Diogie was 'The Angriest Dog in Tucson' because he was a grumpy gus. He was terrified of veterinarian offices. I didnt want the last emotion that my little dog to be one of terror. Dr. Heller brought treats and I fed him roast beef until the sedative could take effect and we could humanely release him. Homeward Bound. What a perfect name for what this amazing vet does.

I recently had to face the inevitable decision that a lot of us dog lovers do and had to and put my grey on " the other side of the rainbow". I can't tell you how compassionate the whole staff was and Dr. Boyer especially was amazing. She understood my emotional pain and really helped me through the process. Especially after he passed by donating a tree in my greyhound 's name. What vet does that? You can feel very secure putting your best buddy in their care.

My dog was on the incorrect usage until I verified with another vet the CORRECT dosage. This vet fired me and my 3 dogs in the middle of treating them for major medical disorders. I believe she did this because she was not experienced enough to treat them properly. I found error after error. She's an unethical practitioner. She is high strung and very insulting. She takes 100% of your money (she's one of the most expensive vets in Tucson) but offers only 50% or less care. And she does NOT care for her patients nor their families. She refuses to answer questions like dietary needs or tests and procedures that need to be done. She misdiagnosed and mistreated all 3 of my dogs. I would not use Kayla Boyer she is terrible and has really gone downhill over the years. She's nasty and refuses to answer important questions because she lacks capability and knowledge. I have found so much better since she let us go. It was a door that was much needed to open for the betterment of our healthcare for our animals. Blood riddens speedway vet hospital.

A different veterinary Dr. Recently, my senior dog had a bit of a health emergency. The young vet was brazenly arrogant, and my entire body felt anxious when dealing with her. She made a threat to report me and have him taken from me if I did not vaccinate him, prior to first checking to make sure he was ok. It was maddening. His immune system was already taxed and he's been rapidly going down hill since. She actually refused to give me any vaccine information and I believe in my soul she actually misled me to the type of vaccine he received. He nearly died a few days later. He was not a candidate. He needed care and attention, and instead was received coldly and cruelly. It was an absolutely disconnected and strange experience. It left my friend and I horrified. This place is a money hustle and their new young vet lacked kindness and empathy. It was a dark experience. We have since found a lovely vet to assist with his recovery, who is cordial and kind... and most of all puts us all at ease. Encanto, you may want to make sure your Vets actually like animals or can at least pretend to care about each animal without bias or judgement: I'd give this place a 0 for medical care, however, the front desk staff has always been kind and accommodating. Suggestion: perhaps don't make threats to a loving pet owner with a senior dog they love with their whole soul, in a crisis. Just start there. Integrity, transparency and decency go a long way in life and business.
