Authentic North-East Chinese bbq. With the growth of Chinese skewer places that have opened up since Homey Skewer did, I am surprised that they aren't seeing the same customer attraction. I've looked over some of the one and two star reviews. Here are some updates and considerations: Credit cards? Yes, they do accept credit. Slow/rude service? I joke with my friends that if a Chinese place has more than 3.5 stars on yelp, it is not likely going to be authentic. A lot of this comes down to expectations held by many people (and their yelp reviews) regarding customer service. They aren't being rude. Regarding slow service. This is a small place with few staff. Be patient. They are trying to do it right, not fast. Drink some beer, snack on cold dishes that require little prep and chat with your friends while waiting for skewers. Food: For some people, this kind of food, isn't going to be their thing. For some this is an exciting and new experience. For others, this is a reminder of home, a taste and smell that brings back memories of a familiar place, so far away. We stopped here looking for wonton soup on a Monday night. It wasn't crowded at all; the inside has about 5-10 tables (can be broken up or made larger). We were greeted right away and sat down. Ordered via QR code and on our phone. I liked how the menu had a picture for every item. My date had a beer and fried rice. I had the wonton soup; it was so tasty and I could tell both the soup and fried rice were made really fresh. I think our server was the owner - really nice man and great service/attention. Good portions for the price especially in this area. We will be back!!

Outdoor seating only. The order came out in 15 minutes. We ordered the Kim chi fried rice. It's good but nothing that amazes you. If you're in the area and want skewers and rice, this is the place to go. But I wouldn't go out of my way to come here. The portions are a decent size and the staff's are very stern. Parking is no issue as you have the entire plaza. Be careful not to park too close to the location itself as there are outdoor dining and the tent made the parking lots smaller than usual so every car is pushed about 1 feet into their perspective lanes.

This place is a hidden gem! Went here on a Monday night and it was totally dead ordered a bunch of skewers and some buns. Ordered on an I pad and sat down they brought me water. The vibe is super Bay Area chill decor. Food was delicious meat, perfectly cooked. Sweet spicy and complex spices. It was a little expensive but pretty standard for skewers. It was nice not to have to wait in line or wait super long for my food to arrive. Definitely will be back.

Ordered the Enoki Mushroom Skewers, Thai Chicken Skewers, Lamb Intestine Skewers, Beef intestine skewers, and Corn skewer. The corn was the only item we would have again. It was my first time trying Lamb intestine and Beef Intestine and i thought it tasted odd. My friend who has had it before said that the meat tasted "old", and was covered up by the variety of spices/ sodium. The lamb intestine specifically tasted like what you would imagine the scent of walking into the fish section of an asian grocery store. Overall it was okay, but i wouldn't have it again. The service was nice though and the place was empty when we came around 10pm. Our server sat us down quickly and pointed us to the QR code to order our skewers. I thought it was a nice feature that the store had a heated tray for the skewers to remain warm throughout the time we were there.

Im a huge fan of skewers and I have been to other places around here but have never tried this place yet. It looked promising on Yelp so I decided to give it a try and I'm so glad I did! I came on Friday at 6pm and we were the first people there for dinner. They have a barcode that you can scan so you can order on your phone and your meal comes out. We ordered beef, lamb, sausage, green beans, fish balls, steamed buns, corn, fish tofu, and fried chicken cutlets. Everything was delicious!! Their seasoning is super flavorful and also spicy. If you can't handle spice then I probably wouldnt suggest because it can get pretty spicy as you eat. Luckily I'm a huge fan of spice so I loved it. I really liked the steamed buns and the meats the most. They placed our skewers on a heated plate so they all stayed warm. They also had a container to keep the skewer sticks in when we were done. This is a small hole in the wall kind of place. It wasn't crowded when we went and they only have a few tables. I really recommend coming here. The staff were super nice and helpful and the food was amazing.

I'm only giving this place a one star because their fried rice wasn't too bad but everything else was terrible. They need to do a better job at customer service. You might as well shut down your business if you don't care for your customers. We were the only people in the restaurant and there were 3-4 workers (2 servers and 2 cooks). We orders two dishes and it took almost 30 minutes to get out food. The worst part was seeing the chef cook food for the two servers and watching them eat in front of us and until they were done eating was when they finally decided to get our food -____- I've never experienced anything like this. The inside of their restaurant is so tacky too. They had stains everywhere and had boxes all over the place one box even said "toilet paper." The cold noodle dish was disgusting DO NOT order this, better yet, just save your money and time and go someplace else.

The food here is really good! I love how flavorful the seasoning is for the skewers, and the wide variety that they offer. My personal favorites were the chicken gizzard, pork liver, lamb, and a choy. The server was kind and overall we had a pleasant experience dining here!

Went here for late night food after drinking and it was so amazing i went back for dinner last Saturday!! I went around 15 mins after they opened and had to wait about 45 minutes but it was still worth the wait!!! We ordered so many things i cannot lost them here haha but a few of my favorites are bacon wrapped enoki, chives, eggplant, achoy, chicken heart, and fried chicken skin. Their tofu skin cold dish is also super tasty!! I would be kinda scared to go without my Chinese friends since everything is written in chinese by the way...

We stopped by just to try something new and i gotta say the food and the service was outstanding and i really enjoyed the order on your phone feature! I will definitely be coming back!

The skewers are not authentic, and very small portion. Maybe you can bbq better than their skewers. It doesn't have the restaurant standard taste. The service is very limited and disorganized. They only have one server serving all the tables. He even told us to give him a few mins, so he could smoke before getting us a check. He was smoking in front of the restaurant. The service is definitely very authentic Chinese customer service. Anyway, he is friendly and runs around, so don't get upset if he forgets about you. Cash only. They don't take credit card and they don't tell you cash only, no sign either. They will show you a board with their PayPal, Venmo, and zelle info. It's kind of funny. Ill not recommend. We've noticed the Korean tofu house next door is very popular, the traffic kept coming for dine in and Togo. We will come back to give a try on the tofu house.

This restaurant is open!!! 4/8/2021 My family and I are soooo happy! Travelled 1 1/2 hours to eat here! Felt really safe and staff are wearing masks !! Try it!!

There were not many people in the restaurant when we got there, so the food came really fast. However, all the different skewers, either the meat or the veggies, had the exact same salty and spicy taste. There might be better Chinese BBQ options in the area, however, if you hate to wait in the line or in a rush, you can give it a try here.

This is not a skewer place anymore. Came and see the restaurant empty. It's now a bento spot.

I am basing my review off take out since I don't usually eat there* It's nestled in the plaza off Aborn Rd and White so parking shouldn't be an issue. The inside isn't extremely huge, but there are tables - though there are times when the tables are put out. But if you go up Aborn a bit, there's Evergreen Square where you can sit and enjoy the sun! Definitely call ahead of time if you are doing platters, but they also offer 2-3 item combo plates! Every time I have visited, the staff is pretty kind and get your order out to you as soon as possible. OKAY THE FOOD: * Chow Mein: delicious. you CANNOT go wrong with this item, it's perfectly made and gives the authentic "take out chow mein" taste * Salt and Pepper Pork/ Wings/ Calamari/ Shrimp/ etc.: Literally anything that's salt and pepper, I LOVE. My family and I usually get the salt & pepper pork or wings, depending on what we're feeling. 20/10 would recommend. * Honey Walnut Shrimp/ Chicken: Another all time favorite dish here - they somehow get the shrimp/ chicken crispy despite it being in the sauce. LOVE. * Chicken Green Beans: A classic, but also SO DANG GOOD. Please note that if you are getting an entree, expect your plate to be STUFFED. happy eating! x

The Chinese take out restaurant is located in a plaza in San Jose off White Road and Aborn Road. Parking is accessible in the large parking lot out front. The restaurant is clean and the modern decor is simple. There are a few tables inside for dine in but it appears this is mainly a take out restaurant. I ordered a salt and pepper wings and walnut shrimp. Both dishes were tasty. The salt and pepper wings were crispy and moist in the inside. The wings were flavorful and scrumptious with every bite. The walnut shrimp were crispy and sweet. Unfortunately the cream sauce was underwhelming. Overall we enjoyed our experience at Evergreen Panda. The staff were friendly and helpful. The atmosphere was welcoming and family friendly. The restaurant reminded me of a local neighborhood favorite. Price point was fair especially for the portion sizes. I will be back to order other popular items from the menu.

We walked in right at opening to a completely empty dining room. Instead of leaving, we browsed the menu and ordered XLB, pot stickers, jelly fish, and pea sprouts (my personal fav) so glad we didn't leave! The XLB are a nice size, with each precious dumpling cradled in its own foil wrapper for maximum soup retention. The potstickers were full of flavor, packed with protein, delicately wrapped, and had the crispiest, golden bottoms! Jelly fish was fresh and the pea sprouts were a hit! The poor owner answering the phones made sure (in all languages) to inform folks calling in that there were a different May Flower than the other place-felt terrible for her but also understood the importance of differentiating right up front. I can only imagine the number of misorders they have probably dealt with. By the time we were done, the dining room was filled with a mix of what seemed like regulars, locals, large groups of families, small groups of friends... this feels like we stumbled upon a tiny hole in the wall restaurant where everyone who has been before just knows the quality and taste they are going to be getting! Highly recommend you check this place out for a dine in or take out order!

This is one of the handful of American Chinese restaurants that stood the test of time. As is typical of these places, there was an old lady manning the counter and also acting as the server. And as is typical of these places, there was table at the end where they were prepping the fruits and veggies. It's truly remarkable how they are all similar in these ways! We got a couple of dishes and they came out at lightning speed. * Chowmein-3/5- delicious with lots of umami flavor but shockingly greasy. I mean I am used to oily noodles but this one exceeded some limits. *crispy salt and pepper eggplant-3/5- I had a stellar version of this dish at another restaurant in Sunnyvale and was stoked when I saw this on the menu here. Unfortunately it was a poor representation of the dish I loved there. The batter was too much and the dish felt heavy. The hot oil or sauce they had felt old and extremely vinegary as well, I would recommend avoiding it.
