Went to this place last night, reached around 10 PM, ordered Veg. Zafrani and Malai Kofta, it was served with non cooked gravy with non cooked vegetable pieces, where the water could be seen clearly. It literally had no taste....felt like they just put some masalas in watery boiled vegetables and served.. not at all worth paying $11 or so bucks for each of this non taste items. I did tell this to the worker there and both items were taken away from us saying they will cook the same for you again, which took forever and brought back to us with less then half of the quantity stating that kitchen is being closed..seriously ?? My sister had a sudden craving for Indian food and we went to Usha Foods. This is the only Indian food place we knew of in Queens, but today my mom said we should try dosas at a different place. While looking nearby, we smelled food from Honest from across the street that ended us reaching there. We ordered 3 vada pavs, a Pondicherry masala dosa, and Schezwan noodles. The food was absolutely amazing. The Podicerry Masala dosa and Scezwan noodles were delicious. I thought the vada pav was a little dry and needed a sauce but other than it was still good. This is our new favorite place for Indian food. Also, the owner told us that we should go try the icecreams next door. They have such great selections of desi flavor icecreams and they were so nice. I wasn't planning on buying icecream and just wanted to see the flavors. They still let me try the flavors. The mango and Falooda flavor was so good. Had one of the worst experiences few weeks back went there to eat with my family server did not even come to me. Instead she went to help somebody else who came after that's fine then when they finally took our order my sons dishes came still waiting for ord went and complained still didn't get anything they said they will bring it to us I said what's the point now my sons have already finish their meal we came here to eat as a family. Finally I said just charge me for my sons meal instead they overcharged and to accommodate for the discrepancy they took two dollars out of the tip jar to give to us bad business. My family and I decided to go to Honest for dinner on a Sunday evening. We got there pretty early so we were able to get seats, however if we had arrived a little later we would have been waiting a lot longer. The place is small for the amount of people wanting to dine here and they definitely need more seating. Shortly after two people from our table were asked to move to the other end of the table because another large party was coming in and they needed an extra table which we didn't mind too much. The service needs a lot of improvement. We ordered our appetizers first and main dinner after however they brought all the food together. We told the manager/owner and he told us that we should order appetizers first and then specify we want the main course after, but isn't that a given when dining out? Towards the end of the meal a strand of hair was found in one of the dishes and when the manager/ owner was notified he responded very rudely instead of a simple apology. We weren't offered to replace the dish nor were we compensated on the bill. I can safely say we won't be returning any time soon. read more

My husband and I have tried their samosas as well as Samosa Chaat several times and we love it! They definitely have their own flair compared to the competitors. For instance the samosa chaat has a little pomegranate and beets thinly sliced thrown on top. The samosas are very flavorful with cheese and other spices. I would actually tone down on the extras bc it's too intense in flavor sometimes. But overall very clean and good food, highly recommend. read more

I had dinner here with my family a few nights ago and we all enjoyed the food very much. We tried everything from the Indo-Chinese to the dosa. The restaurant was kind enough to make modifications according to our dietary needs. The Paneer 65 appetizer was especially delicious. We had to order a second one because the kids in our group ate it all! We had a very friendly and helpful waitress and the wait time for our food was not at all long. I've read reviews where people complained that Honest serves meals in "disposable dishes". These people are clearly ignorant and don't realize that fast food restaurants tend to use paper goods not fine china! Go to any Indian fast food restaurant in Hicksville or Edison, everyone of them use paper plates and bowls. At least Honest does not use styrofoam (which is bad for the environment) like other places do! All in all a very good pure vegetarian restaurant and we will come again. read more

This restaurant needs a huge management makeover. The staff does not have a sense of urgency for their customers and can barely speak the language which is very essential when you are ordering FOOD. I am sure all customers would like to get their dish right the "first time". This is not how we run a restaurant. They need to re-learn their managerial skills or get someone who knows before they open a place where they have to cater to more than 60 people a day.
