This place was interesting. The inside was gorgeous! The staff wasn't too inviting and the experience felt awkward. We were contemplating what to eat, and just were being stared at by like 5 different workers. It felt rushed and awkward to just say the least. The ahi bowl we ended up getting was literally rice and cabbage, the taste was very plain, the ingredients didn't blend and it was honestly disgusting. The AHI though, in itself, tasted great. Which is why the 2 stars was given, otherwise everything else was awkward and the taste was bad. read more

Absolutely LOVE their bowls. It's a good amount of food and you leave feeling healthy and full. I wish they would open a location closer to the east side or south austin. I'll be heading here for lunch on the days I'm in the office up north. read more

I've been going to Honest Mary's since they opened. I love it there. But I went last night 2/9/18 and was very disappointed in the service. It seemed like the young kids that were working there were annoyed that they had to wait on my friend and I. They were out right rude. It wasn't late. It was between 6 and 7. The one boy made a face to the girl working when I said I wanted my dressing on the side. Also, did the same to my friend when she had a request. It seemed like the first two girls putting the bowl together were not getting along either. They were very stingy with the sprouts also. I had to ask for more explaining I'd pay extra. Just a weird vibe all around. I hope the management makes sure to keep it professional. I really love this place that's why I thought you should know. read more

I was a bit sceptical after my first experience (SUPER salty cilantro lime rice) but man! I love this place now! It's always busy, even at 3pm, but I've never had to wait long to order, or trouble finding seating, although I imagine Saturdays or other peak times might get a bit crowded. My favorite thing here: the forbidden rice. I've had it at other places, but never really got the appeal until I tried it here. I don't know what they cook it in, but I'm guessing some sort of broth given the amount of flavor, and the texture is perfectly sticky and soft, but never mushy. I could almost eat a bowl of that alone, but add some beets, roasted carrots, sliced apples, goat cheese and either the avocado or acv dressing, and it's glorious. Honest Mary's makes healthy food I'd willingly and happily eat any day. (I'd love to see more branches pop up in the near future!) read more

This is the first time I have eaten a vegan/vegetarian option in Austin and felt like it was a good meal that filled me up and tasted good while being healthy. I think I would go there more and more if it was a little bit less expensive. I loved the Sedona lime bowl. Simple and delicious. I will probably visit this place once in a while! read more

I get sick every time I eat here.. something about how they are cooking or preparing the veggies I'm guessing? What's worse is I thought maybe it was a me problem but recently my bf and his team ate here and they all got sick too. I'd avoid this place read more

La comida es muy rica el servicio es muy bueno y el ambiente es 100% familiar lo recomiendo ampliamente

Built my own bowl with chicken, spinach, cauliflower, avo, a couple of other veggies, and the lemon garlic sauce. The bowl was good overall (I picked the ingredients). The cauliflower could have been roasted a little bit more. All the portions were small except for the avocado. I left hungry and won't be coming back for seconds. I don't feel I received a fair value for what I paid for. Other $11+ salads I've purchased from non-strip mall restaurants were easily 2-3 times the size of this salad with full chicken breasts. I found it strange they only provide plastic forks and no recycling in a "full organic and wholesome" shop. /shrug read more

Had lunch here recently and enjoyed it. The aloha bowl was quite good, especially with some added protein and vegetables. The service is quick and friendly, as the payment counter is cashless. The restaurant has amble parking, some outside seating and plenty of space inside. However, as an Austin native I have two expectation of almost every restaurant I go into: Ice tea with bottomless refills and at least one hot sauce choice. The tea selection here is excellent, but they do not have any hot sauce. When I asked about it, I was sold for $1.08, some poor substitute that was said to have sriracha in it - the one drawback from my lunch. read more

Very good food. Amazing flavors and taste. Portions more in line with a real meal size versus the American size that we are used to. Agua Fresca was so good I would go back just for that. I checked out the nutrition information after We left there from curiosity and was shocked to see that the curated Bowl I selected was over 1140 cal for a small bowl. I will definitely go back but I will be reading the nutrition sheet before I go in read more

I was really excited to try this place, due to the amount of gluten free items. It smelled amazing when you walked in, but I guess I came after a lunch rush and it didn't feel clean inside. I walked up to the area where you order, which is similar to like a chipotle. A lot of the options were empty, but luckily they were able to refill them. I had steak with the Black rice, veggies, and green creamy sauce (big mistake, it had avocado which is an intolerance for me.) I luckily gave the green sauce to my husband. It was delicious, traveled well too. My only complaints are the portions for what you paid weren't a lot, and I felt rushed. I told them it was my first time and no one was in line behind me but the experience was too fast paced (hence me forgetting to ask what was in a sauce due to feeling like I needed to go faster.) I'll be back for sure though. read more

My new favorite place! I am typically a health conscious eater and often times follow a certain way of eating (keto, paleo, whole30) and this can meet those needs. It isn't cheap, at around $11 a bowl. But now-a-days, Chickfila is like $8 for a meal. And this is SO much better for you. The 4 stars is for the line. It is LONG at lunch. Like really long. They really need to have someone moving along the line punching in the orders. Because waiting for guest to go through and order (like Chipotle) is simply too time consuming.) My tip: I order online and it's usually about 30 minutes out for pick up time. Walk in, grab my food and sit there. Totally skips the line. Enjoy! read more

Great place. Healthy, tasty food. The prices are a tiny bit on the high side but the food fills you up and it tastes great!

Love to choose my own ingredients - their roast chicken is really good, quinoa and black beans... avocado and heritage carrots ... only BIG DISAPPOINTMENT is they stopped ever serving roast cauliflower which was so delicious!!! read more

Great lunch place. Good and healthy food. Plenty of choices for toppings. Really enjoyed the food!

Upscale assembly line restaurant. You build your own bowl full of quality ingredients! Everything seemed perfectly cooked and it all had good seasonings and sauces. Vegetarian and meat protein options as well! Signature bowls were well balanced with a variety of toppings! read more

Tha' Best! I have come here many times with various folks and we all rave about it! Clean, friendly, and the Aloha Poke is some of the best in this region. It is so flavorful and filling. Though you're full, you don't feel heavy or stuffed. The kombucha is great, teas are nice, and wine is crisp and doesn't have a bad aftertaste like most quick restaurants. I will come here again and again and always bring new guests!! read more

I just learned about this place. What took me so long. I love the fresh approach to bowls with great options. If you love fresh veg then this is a great place to go. The black rice is yummy. The veggies are awesome. They will let you try anything if you aren't sure about adding to your bowl. Just ask. Hmmm maybe I need to go back today. read more

Found this place by accident, yet what a surprise! Love it so much, from local farm to your bowl. They take the fast food idea like Chipotle but with all the healthy ingredients. Doesn't matter are you in Paleo, gluten free or Keto, you will have a nice bowl for your meal. Love it so much, come back next day. I tried other choices, they are so good, nothing can disappoint you. read more

Healthy food for sure lol very tasty with the flavorings but I do wish you could put unlimited dressings on top of your bowl. I got the chicken and I had some pieces with hard bone like things inside so I took off a star. But people were friendly and the cucumber honey drink was good and refreshing. Very cute inside read more

Great, healthy & delicious! Love their bowls. Their portions look small but they are just enough to get full. Love that they let you customize them. Customer service is great too! read more

I'm so glad I lived nearby when Honest Mary's opened because it was an absolute treasure. The food is so delicious and well prepared. The suggested bowls look fantastic but I always built my own. The staff were helpful with their recommendations but honestly any combination would be good. There's ample seating, it's clean and well-kept, and the design is modern and simplistic while still being comfortable. I love the idea behind this business and the follow-through - simple, healthy, delicious food. read more

First timer! It lives up the hype -- a dependable spot to get healthy farm to table bowls. They have some great flavors (chipotle, peanut sauce, and an avocado-based cashew lime one). The food is simple so expect the sauces to be what make them pop. I had expected the tofu, brussels and cabbage to have more flavor but that's what the sauce is for. I'd definitely go back! read more

My husband and I have been trying to eat healthier and it's been challenging to find places that can help us accomplish this. We found this place on yelp and were hopeful that we would find a meal that was both delicious and nutritious. For a strip mall restaurant, the restaurant's decor has a fresh, farm house modern feel to it. This place has quite a bit of seating and is conducive to both large and small groups. Ordering is simple and easy where you can choose to order one of their suggested bowls or make your own bowl. I ordered the Sedona Lime bowl and my husband made his own. Both were quite tasty and all the ingredients were cooked well, we'll definitely be back. Tips: the Sedona Lime bowl is good, you can substitute ingredients, credit card only, it's a bit in the pricey side, their fountain drinks are delicious! read more

Very good but they need to work on their consistency. I've eaten at Honest Mary's about 6 times. Every time it seems as if the Aloha Poke bowl gets made with different amounts of rice and ingredients - all depending on the whims of the person behind the counter. The poor customer behind me (first time visitor) got totally jipped as the container of tuna poke was almost empty - she received a few measly pieces of tuna from the now empty container. Lunch time gets crazy busy now that this place has rightfully caught on. Tips for the business: - Double the amount of rice in a serving - the bowls always feel a little skimpy (especially for the price). - Your online orders seem to be very popular but they slow down your walk in customers - annoying too - make these online orders in a second (back of the store?) food prep area? - Fix the terrible lighting of your menu wall- re-aim the fixtures so it's not as shadowy. Change the bulbs to wide floods rather than spots...you have too many bright hot spots of light on the menu board along with dark shadow spots. read more

Honest Mary's - Delicious Aloha Poke Bowl. I wish they would double the portion of rice. - New American Near Me - Austin, Texas

I came here for a birthday party, and I was honestly a little skeptical. None of the signature bowls looked perfect... sorry i'm picky. Also, after reading a few of the other reviews by some of my friends, building my own seemed like a bad idea. Well I I've never been afraid of a bad idea so yes I decided to build my own. Full disclosure I did mix a few from some of the reviews I read. I did the steak, basmati rice, cauliflower, Brussels, jalapeno, avocado, Texas goat, and cashew lime sauce. I have to say I was pleasantly surprised! All four of us were really happy with our bowls. I mean everything tasted fresh and was full of flavor. The quality of food Vs price will definitely keep me coming back. read more

Too much filler. I feel like I'm eating cardboard. Plus they want a tip before they even start.

On Burnet road, portion size depends on which kid makes you bowl that will determine if you can see the bottom of your bowl when the bowl is "full" or not. So you may be full or still hungry. read more

Honest Mary's has GREAT food. Very healthy ingredients and menu choice are well thought out. Every dish I have tried has been delicious. I would not, however; EVEN attempt to order online again. After spending time to make choices for my entire office and to type in CC information I was led to believe that my order had been placed -YES,I was given a "ready for pick up time and went to pick up in store- come to find out,my order was not received. I returned to my office only to find my desktop screen saying "sending". No food for me-no money for them. Lose / lose situation for both of us. Too bad-like I said, the food is great! read more

So this is the new trend happening in the food industry now days. Fresh, clean ingredients and build it the way you want. Even though it's a simple concept, almost you can make it at home but who has the time to do so. It's ironic now days we pay so much to eat simple foods. For $12 I can have this clean food or I can go to some Chinese or any other buffet joint for that price.. never the less good satisfying food in a clean open environment. Almost seemed like I walked into a apple store, it so white.. I will be coming back for more read more

I wanted to try this place awhile ago but forgot about it until my friend brought it up again. It is so good! I love the whole build your own bowl type of places. It's such a great idea and so good and (usually) so healthy. I got the Sedona Lime which had rice, spinach, black beans, sweet potatoes, pumpkin seeds, and a cashew lime creme sauce and added tofu in it. It was amazing! I feel full but not overly stuffed. Everything is locally sourced and organic. I really don't think it's that pricey, either. The bowl was $8 and an extra few dollars added for the tofu. I could definitely be a regular here! read more

While staying in Austin, I had had my fill of delicious BBQ and Tex-Mex. I needed to eat something I could feel good about. That search led me to Honest Mary's. My Smoky Poblano bowl was fresh and comforting. Filled with basmati rice, arugula, corn, perfectly pickled onions (my fav), goat cheese, pumpkin seeds and a delightfully spice cream poblano sauce. My friend had the Golden Grain bowl and enjoyed it very much. As I travel to Austin frequently, Honest Mary's is definitely going to part of my dining rotation. I even selected a new regular hotel so that I can walk there. Now that's something to feel good about! read more

A little pricey due to the organic/'high quality ingredients' markup, but the food is extremely tasty and enjoyable. I like building my own bowl with the: --poke (great but I haven't had enough poke to compare) --quinoa --multi-colored carrots --kale (wish it was baby kale, sometimes a little tough) --apple slices --micro greens --apple cider vinaigrette The steak had too much char taste for me. Wish they cooked it medium rare. read more
