This was our 3rd time trying HG, and about time a review was necessary. Still trying to understand HG's cuisine style. It seems to be Asian-influenced, but at the same time, the flavors are not well done, at all. I don't like Chinese take out, but at least their sauces make a bit more sense. The pictures are all extremely misleading. I've yet to have a HG meal where all the vegetables in the dish weren't soggy and overcooked. Tonight in particular, we ordered a rice and rice noodle stirfry online for pickup. When we got home, we realized the rice portion was only about 2/3 of the noodles portion. Why would that be? If you order rice as your carb, you get much less? We chose the spicy garlic sauce to try. The sauce was extremely thick and not tasty. In fact, the sauce was more spicy and sweet to be exact. Tasted like watered down korean gochujang. This was inconsistent, the last couple orders we had, the soy based sauce we chose was at a decent level. Lastly, my husband's dish seemed like the store forgot the garnish. We then discovered the garnishes were all buried at the very bottom of the bowl, again we ask why? I placed an order via the HGMG App. Needless to say it was ready well over 30 minutes after the listed time on the app. It seemed as if they were seriously struggling all night. Several people had placed orders and were just standing around confused and frustrated it was taking so long for the food to be ready. The one employee literally had one speed while preparing the food. It just way too long, and add in a little worry when one patron brought his salad back displaying a hair had made it in... not cool! I enjoy the concept of being able to create your own healthy-ish stir fry. I ordered on door dash and my orders were all wrong. First time I ordered they forgot half my toppings that I paid extra for and it was essentially egg and bean sprouts. It was the end of my break so ordering again wasn't an option. My coworkers raved about this place to give it another try so I tried again. Today's order left out the meat, jalapeños, sauce, fork, and my extra toppings. Just checked this out- fast casual isn't usually my thing but this was pretty good. I had a zucchini stir-fry with tofu and the sweet soy sauce with some veggies. It was satisfying. My husband had an egg noodle stir-fry with chicken, vegetables and the spicy garlic sauce, he too was pleased with his meal and full. My only issue is adding up calories for what I had via the website nutritional calculator, zucchini Noodles (5), tofu (60), broccoli (5), bell peppers (5), mushrooms (5), sweet soy sauce (50) and picked cucumbers (10) that should be a lovely 140 calorie meal but the menu board said the lowest calorie option was over 200. That makes me wonder what I'm missing and which has accurate nutritional info. Would love to hear back for potential future visits. read more

I was accused of stealing! I ordered online and decided to order more food when I came in to pick up my order. While I was waiting I was drinking my juice that I ordered online. Thirteen minutes later an employee approaches me and asked if I paid for that juice. I said, "Yes". The employee did not believe me and continued to ask multiple times if I purchased the juice while raising her voice. I repeatedly said yes. Eventually the employee gave up and went back to discuss with coworkers behind the cash wrap/kitchen. Finally realizing that I ordered my juice online the employee came back to apologize. Not a very great apology just repeating sorry. I ordered the sesame garlic stir fry as is. They ran out of scallions and didn't offer a substitute. I got accused of stealing a juice which they keep in a fridge behind the cash wrap. Food was decent but customer service was one of the worst I've ever experienced due to that interaction. I had very high expectations for this restaurant as it was recommended to me by some friends. The concept is good. You order your stir fry or salad on a monitor, pay, and get your food. However, this place is a disaster. I ordered beef stir fry, paid, but was then told they were out of beef. I also ordered bread, but was then told they were out of bread. They couldn't figure out how to refund me for the price difference between the beef and chicken and the lack of bread. The soda machine was broken and tasted like the soda somehow mixed together. You can order it on kiosik and later your name will be called out once the food is ready. Food came out pretty quickly. Flavors were good. I ordered red curry which came with noodles. Really surprised to see the reviews so low for honeygrow. Been twice now for a post-gym session lunch and I haven't had any problems and have really enjoyed the food (have eaten there both times). My biggest complaint is that our food took a while to come out yesterday - we probably waited a solid 15-20 minutes after we ordered (not a problem on our first visit). But both times the food has tasted fresh, has been piping hot, and very filling. And depending on what you get, prices are in line with other "fast casual" places in the area. Both times, I've built your own stir-fry - coconut curry sauce, chicken, pineapple, whole wheat noodles, various other fixings depending on my mood and my calorie budget. Both times I've had a steaming hot bowl, prepared well, that has been filling enough to keep me full for hours. The concept of honey grow is fantastic but I've only tried the leesburg location. With that said, my take out order comes out different every time I order it. I think I've gotten the arugula walnut salad 10 times and each time it has an ingredient that has been swapped out for something else or missing something. Either the Parmesan chips are gone, or instead of arugula they put spring mix instead. For today's edition (in my picture) the walnuts are swapped for peanuts and I was charged for the Parmesan chips WHICH is actually included in the salad... I had been watching the building that this restaurant is in for some time and decided to see what was there. Honeygrow's model is similar to some other relatively new restaurants. Customers order at a kiosk. They offer a set of predetermined dishes or allow customers to design their own dish. You get to choose a base (e.g., noodles), a protein, toppings, and sauces. The first few time I had the Red Coconut Curry stir fry. I choose it because it was spicy. I liked it and had it the first few times but lately I have customized it by changing up some of the toppings. Part of ordering includes providing a phone number so you can be texted when the order is ready. They have an app that is useful for ordering ahead. They have a steady stream of take out customers. Service was good. Someone is around the kiosks to help people who are not familiar with their offerings and the ordering system. I've been back a few times and will continue to do so. read more

I love the transparency of seeing the employees cook the food in front of us through the glass, but the food preparation and cooking noise was obnoxiously loud. Somehow after waiting for 45 min, they still managed to miss one of my order because it was given to someone else. Manager/employees were unapologetic - maybe because this isn't the first unhappy customer they've got in their day. Food Quality: one of my order had sauce on the side, yet that order got EXTRA sauce, in which the employee proceeds to drain inside the trash can with me standing watch. I've been to Honeygrow a few times now. It's pretty good but a little higher than average for lunch. At least for me, it's a bit higher than normal since they charge $2 to add an egg to your stir-fry. But the food is tasty and they have some unique options that you can't find at other places. The ordering system is pretty nice with everything handled by computerized screens. They are pretty quick about getting you your food which is impressive since everything is made to order. One thing that I would appreciate is if they would allow you to be more specific about your toppings. It's very easy to add extra stuff but not very easy to add less. For example, being able to order less rice instead of the full portion, or less of a particular topping. I've ordered the same exact combo of ingredients every time I have been to the restaurant and the dish I get has been wildly different. The first time was the best, the sauces were nicely reduced into the meat and vegetables and I could taste the different seasoning/sauce options that I chose. The other times, the food was still good but it had a ton of extra liquid and different levels of sauce/flavorings. I think they need to standardize that process a bit. All in all, this is a nice lunch option that's a nice space, clean, and has friendly staff. read more

This is a great new addition to the area. The atmosphere and food was positive and full of energy. We went on opening day and received a free dessert from the honey bar, which I probably wouldn't have gotten since I tend to not order sweets (even the healthy ones). The treat was fresh and delicious so I will be inclined to order one again. Had I of never gotten a free one, I would have probably never ordered one. I ordered a 'make your own' stir fry which was really good. The ingredients were fresh and of a good ratio. My only complaint was that there was a little too much sauce for my taste and the food is layered in the to go container, which makes it difficult to get rice (bottom layer) included in your bite of food to start but nothing a plate couldn't solve. However, if you don't have one handy then you'll be digging. My friend liked the food as well but thought her dish could of had a little more sauce -depends on the person.
