Yummy cantonese diner food with a modern interior space! They have lots of options on the menu and a lot of the food we tried was pretty good. I like the sweet and sour pork ribs and the pork chop dish! They were very helpful with our large party and provided quick service to our group

I've been Hong Kong Cafe a few times and I've never been disappointed. The service is always great and the food is always delicious. Ambience wise, this place isn't much, but I don't care about ambience when the food is this good.

Nostalgic Hong Kong-style cha chaan teng vibes in SoCal!!! Located in the City of Walnut, the moment I stepped in, as a Hongkonger, I just couldn't resist snapping some good shots haha I was feeling under the weather that day, so I was really happy to have some comforting food. Our all-time favorite: the baked pork chop spaghetti -- such a big portion and perfect for the whole family to enjoy! Their lunch special is only $14 -- we had the minced pork rice with milk tea. There's also a huge variety of drinks. My kid got her Milo, and I tried the new goji and red date tea -- so soothing and healing. A sick day made better with comfort food. IG: socalhkfoodies

The orange ice tea is bombbb. The chicken steak was cooked perfect, so crispy on the outside and chicken wasn't dry on the inside. The hotpot had lots of veggies which my wife liked.

Great value and great food in this Hong Kong style cafe. We went around 10am Sunday and it was not busy, and it was not busy throughout. As usual for these types of places, you need to flag down a server to fulfill requests, but these and the food are served very quickly. There's breakfast/lunch specials where drink is included or discounted, and there is food on the main menu that is pricier but larger portions and more lunch/dinner regular items. We got the chicken steak with mushroom sauce, beef chow fun, and chicken steak with pineapple bun. The latter 2 came with drinks at a discount - $1.95 surcharge for either hot or cold drink so we got 1 hot and 1 cold milk tea. The biggest value factor is that drinks are unlimited refills upon request. Chicken steak is pretty solid, though a bit more fat than I would have liked. Mushroom sauce is decent. The beef chow fun is large portions with generous amounts of beef. The noodles are cooked to a nice al dente texture. Chicken steak with pineapple bun is huge. It's good but something I don't plan to other again due to redundancy of the dishes we got. All the food is well priced in comparison to neighboring HK cafes, so this edges higher in the ranking of these places in SoCal.

Wanted to stay local for dinner while visiting home and Hong Kong Cafe did not disappoint!! I haven't been here since the old ownership, and this was soo much better. The restaurant is clean, decor is nice, and service was fast and friendly. Nice portion sizes on all the food as well, and drinks were tasty too. I had the Grilled Chicken Steak with Black Pepper Sauce, which was one of the best I've had. The skin was crispy, while the chicken was still juicy. The sizzling steak was also really tender! We all split a Spam & Egg Sandwich in a Bolo Bun too, and it was a super fun twist on a traditional breakfast pairing. Highly highly recommend to check out-- one of the best restaurants in Walnut!

The food came fast and was nice and flavorful ordered the hot & spicy beef tripe & tendon rice lunch platter. Food was cooked just right and the right amount of spice. Service was fast and the servers are very helpful. Great place the ambiance was peaceful not hectic at all plays soft music inside. Over all will be coming back here.

Took my Mom on a little dinner date and I actually saw this posting on IG, but for the Monterey Park location. My mom didn't want to eat a lot so she ordered the chicken wings appetizer serving. She wanteda side of rice, soi decided to order a rice dish so I can give her some of my rice. I preferred the beef tongue rice combo. Service was great and food came fast. The ambience was very much like HK. My wife being from HK, I took a "just like home" picture. Reminded me more of an intimate Alice's kitchen.

Chicken steak with mushroom sauce and spaghetti

I really wanted to like this place and I had high hopes, but I was left feeling dissatisfied. The food is mediocre. We ordered a baked bolognaise, chicken steak with spaghetti and mushroom sauce, and pork chop/chicken steak with spaghetti and mushroom sauce. Also ordered a to go order of seafood noodles and fish clay pot on the side. The flavor of the bolognaise is bland and the noodles were overcooked. The chicken steak had a lot of fat. I wish it came with more veggies. The service was not very good. Food took forever to come out. They messed up our orders and we had to wait an additional 30 minutes for the take out after we had finished eating. They said the chefs had gotten confused. Overall, it did not meet my expectations. But I will try the other locations one day.

Hong Kong cafe is an authentic restaurant located in a large plaza in Walnut. The cafe has both indoor and outdoor seating. The decor is nice and the restaurant has cozy vibes. The staff were welcoming and friendly. They had very delicious dishes to choose from. I was debating which dish I will order. Then I ordered many dishes to try. We had -Seafood chow Mein 5/5 It was delicious, filled with different types of seafood and vegetables. -Baked chicken with pasta 5/5 The dish was enormous. It was very savory and filled with generous amount of chicken pieces. -Pork simaui 5/5 Was fresh, rich, savory, had juicy and yummy fillings. -Pork Dumpling XLB 4/5 It was juicy and tasty. -Congee with chicken 5/5 Very comfort and soothing food, aromatic too, and filled with generous amount of chicken pieces. The service was fast. The server checked on us frequently. The quantity was enormous and great quality of food with unbeatable prices. We had such a pleasant time at Hong Kong cafe. I will be back for sure.

Love this place! The food was great, and the service was awesome. We ordered the noodles, waffles, and hot pot, and everything was delicious. The place is also very kid-friendly. I would definitely love to come back again!

Great Hong Kong cafe in Walnut. They have multiple locations but this one is my favorite one. They have popcorn chicken here and sizzling steak plate. Popcorn chicken has good seasoning and crispy. The sizzling steak is a piece of fried steak and goes perfect with the black pepper sauce. Grilled onions underneath adding aromatics. The salted fish with chicken fried rice was also tasty from the salted fish. They add good amount of salted fish and rice fried well. Mixes even better with the chili oil they have! Quick service and still enjoy the HK decorations.

It feels like they have more than enough seats & tables inside. Food prices are still reasonably affordable and foods are still delicious/authentic in taste. There used to be more employees inside, but today, we didn't see staffing at front counter. Ordered at self service kiosk. I had the all day daily breakfast quick fix: two eggs, hash brown, and toasted garlic baguettes. Simple breakfast much under $10. If I add a meat/sausage/SPAM/etc., I would pay a few bucks more. Everything tasted exactly as expected. Older Uncle cooking inside was busy and multiple tasking as usual with online app takeout orders. The beef macaroni soup was also exactly as described and comes with a beverage of choice (iced honey lemon beverage for us). Huge food portions. Good flavors. No complaints. Very satisfied. Maybe we are more simple to please with general Hong Kong street comfort foods. Overall, I do hope they can stay open and not shutdown like other locations during high inflation times. It's been comfortable dining inside each time. Uncles inside are hardworking folks. There were much lesser cars in the parking lot too. Different vibes compared to the first visit. Still yummy here.

We picked hot milk tea and a hot lemonade. We got the Pork & Preserved Egg Congee with Stir-Fried Udon. The congee was quite watery this time, though they were generous with the preserved egg, which tasted great. The udon was pretty typical, but the BBQ pork slices were on the drier side. Next time, I am definitely sticking to my favorite, the Home Style Stir-Fried Silver Pin Noodles, since it is way better. We both liked the Satay Beef Instant Noodle. While it does not totally compare to what you get in Hong Kong, it is actually a really decent version compared to most HK-style cafes around here. We also got the Pineapple Bun with Butter, but the bun was dry and they barely put any butter inside. Before heading out, we ordered two of the Grilled Chicken Steak with Fried Egg & Fried Potato combos to-go ($13.95 each, which includes a butter roll and a drink). The chicken steak was nice and tender. The fried potatoes were soft and mushy rather than crispy, but to be fair, I did not eat them until I got back home. Overall, it is a convenient breakfast spot with good portions, just a bit inconsistent depending on what you order.

It took about ten minutes for us to get a booth table, but we were waiting inside. The staff member called numbers firstly in Cantonese then in English. After we sat down, the waiting line persisted past 1 pm. Similarly, the bustling loudness continued on during the course of our meal. Food arrived quickly, however. The price point for the delicious food is competitive. We got French-style filet mignon ($18.99), braised tofu in brown sauce ($14.99), chicken chow mein ($14.99), and a steamed rice noodle roll with barbecue pork ($5.99). A pot of rice was included in our meal. The steamed rice noodle roll with barbecue pork was a nice appetizer that arrived first. I enjoyed how the French-style filet mignon was garnished with Thai basil, black pepper, and ginger. The meat was flavorful and tender. The braised tofu in brown sauce was consistently hot on the inside. The delicious brown sauce soaked throughout the vegetables. The chicken chow mein didn't have a lot of sauce, but it was still delicious with a lot of meat included. Overall, it would be nice to visit again outside of a peak time because the food prices are competitive. The menu is expansive, and the breakfast selections look interesting. The atmosphere during the Sunday lunch peak time was consistently bustling. I think the restaurant started to play Chinese music loudly at random points so that people could finish dining more quickly.

Absolutely TERRIBLE experience. Do not waste your time or money here…read more The moment we walked into Fu's Restaurant, it felt like stepping into a sauna. It was 79 degrees inside, muggy, humid, and completely uncomfortable. We almost turned around and left immediately. The place was practically empty, which honestly should have been our first red flag. We decided to give them a chance anyway. Big mistake. My colleague and I were offered water or hot tea. We both ordered hot tea. The menu clearly says in English that hot tea is $2.99. Nowhere does it clearly explain in English that you will be charged differently depending on how many people drink it. When the bill came, we were charged $5 each. Apparently, there is some clarification written in Chinese, but how are customers who do not read Chinese supposed to know that? That is completely misleading. The tea portions were not larger, not special, nothing different. Just basic tea. The pricing felt deceptive. We also ordered popcorn chicken and chili wonton soup. Both came out in tiny portions that looked like appetizers, yet the menu does not clearly label them as such. For what we received, paying over $30 total felt ridiculous. The food itself was mediocre at best. Nothing memorable and definitely not worth the price. Because of the uncomfortable temperature, confusing pricing, small portions, and average food, we chose not to leave a tip. As we were walking out, the waiter chased us outside and pressured us about the zero tip. That is completely inappropriate. Tipping is not mandatory. It is earned. Confronting customers outside over a tip is unprofessional and embarrassing. Between the heat, the questionable menu pricing, the small portions, and being confronted outside, this was one of the worst dining experiences I have had in a long time. We will never be back. There are plenty of better places within the same plaza than to dine here. I don't expect this place to last long anyway.

The price point felt very fair, especially with the dumplings coming in at $14.85. I also really appreciated the balanced portion control; it felt like just the right amount of food without being overwhelming. We were only ones in the restaurant near end of business on a Sunday night. Service speed was expected as cook to order. Definitely a good spot if you're looking for a simple and reasonable meal in Walnut or near Mt. San Antonio College. FYI photos are of the wall art, food was devoured.

Portion wise, we only ordered three dishes and still had plenty of leftovers to take home. Good service, and typical Chinese restaurant ambiance. Definitely will come back to check out their other lunch specials and as well as their lobster dishes. Considering how many Chinese eateries in the area, it's worth checking it out.
