So many yummy things to buy! Apparently, they were bought out by ABC Stores but they still have plenty of fun and delightful souvenirs, plus the fresh foods area/deli in the back can't be beat. On one of my last days, I finally tried a Hawaiian-style mixed plate: kalua pork, fried rice, and mac salad. OMG. So good, even though the mac salad is a little excessively creamy and I felt my MSG/sodium levels shoot through the roof. They also make a delicious saimin noodle bowl for breakfast, and we shared the furikake crusted ahi sandwich with pesto for lunch one day and it was amazing. Stop by for a Spam musubi for breakfast, and run down to the beach. For last minute souvenirs and gifts, they are great. I have a special love for the Mauna Loa Hershey's Kisses that you can only buy in Hawaii- yum. Anyway, if you need a perk on your flight back to the manland, you can pick up a few local island alcohols (Ocean vodka, etc.) in tiny bottles and carry them with you. During our last visit, Grey Goose minis were also on sale, so don't get ripped off by the airlines and supply your own fun. I bought a few but ended up keeping them as souvenirs. You can also get any t-shirts, tank tops, body products, etc., you need here before you leave if you need gifts for people. All in all, this is an awesome every day lunch stop and a fantastic last minute souvenir/gift spot! read more

One of the better places we found in Hawaii for good food that is very reasonably priced. The burger was excellent with a nice pineapple slice, bacon, and a side of fruit for around 8 bucks. Quite large too. They also have plate lunches with a few entrees that change every day for around the same price. There's a nice a-la-carte section where you can get salads, sandwiches, etc that all looked great. Make sure you check that your order is complete because they seem to be shorthanded sometimes. And when you're ordering, don't add all the extras the cashier asks you about because they all cost extra even though they don't mention how much. All small gripes though. I would definitely go back here for breakfast, lunch, or dinner if I'm ever back in area. read more

They are very friendly here. It's more than your typical souvenir shop (which they have a ton of stuff for) but they also have hot breakfast, lunch, and dinner. The breakfast burrito was awesome and fresh. Their macaroons were also pretty good although I'd stick with the cookies and cream. I never thought of eating here until my friend told me to meet up with him there. I thought this place was just a store where you could buy t-shirts and other touristy things. I was wrong, they have a kitchen in the back along with a full espresso bar. I ordered the Honolau burger with a side of fruit. The burger was surprisingly good and I'm glad I got the fruit. My friends got the their meals with a side of fries and the fries looked kinda old / over cooked. But.. since this review is about my experience, I'll still giving it 4 stars. Prices are very reasonable and there is a wide selection of food. You should be able to find something even for the pickiest of eaters. The store also has a good selection of drinks (milk / juices / beer / liquor...) Everything you'd need you can probably find in the store. The prices are going to be a little higher then going to Safeway. You pay for convenience of not having to drive into the next town. The staff was super friendly. You can also eat your grub on the patio. You get some spectacular views of the golf course. read more

Such a great little general store tucked away in Kapalua, right by the Ritz Carlton Resort. When we first checked into the hotel, the friendly staff told us about this store. They said that locals go there for cheap lunches, and tourists go there for souvenirs and snacks for the beach. We decided to give it a try since a friend also recommended it to us. We stopped by for lunch and was surprised by the variety of food they offered. We were expecting cold sandwiches and salads, but they had this whole kitchen area in the back where you can order hot meals, anything from ramen noodles to loco moco rice plates. I wasn't feeling a hot lunch so I got the ham and cheese croissant sandwich and a spam musubi, while my hubby got the hobo lunch of pork and cabbage over rice. The spam musubi was delicious. I mean, spam by itself is great, but when you combine it with rice and teriyaki sauce all bundled up with seaweed, you got yourself a winner. This is not like the spam musubi at L&L BBQ, this is legit. I had to stop myself from getting another one. (I did take one to-go on our last day to eat on the plane ride home.) The ham and cheese croissant sandwich was fine - a typical cold sandwich, nothing to really complain about. My hubby's pork and cabbage over rice, though, was the best thing ever (according to him). We were in Maui for 7 days and this was the only meal he truly remembered and talked about even after the trip. He said the pork was tender and had an Asian flavor to it (I'm thinking a mixture of soy sauce, ginger, and 5-spice powder). The cabbage and rice soaked up all the tasty sauce from the braised pork. And the portion was just enough to satisfy without being overwhelming. The store also sold a variety of snacks, drinks and souvenirs. I was able to get my maui onion chips here so I was happy eating them by the pool. The souvenirs were kinda pricey but it was expected, given it was on Maui and right by a resort. But, the price of the food was surprisingly reasonable, especially compared to the prices in Lahaina or Wailea. I guess this is why the locals come here. I'd stay in Kapalua again next time just so that I have easy access to this little general store. It would be my first stop before checking in, so I could pick up my spam musubi! read more

Horrible experience. Went there b/c a friend raved about the Saimin. We get there at 8am on a Saturday and ordered the Saimin and they say they've run out! That was a bummer but we moved on and ordered some other breakfast dishes. We waited 20 min and they got our order wrong. We also noticed that they got the orders wrong for multiple people ahead of us. Very disappointing! Whatever cost savings was ruined by the bad service. Food was mediocre to bad. Saltiest ham ever. Loved this location for years and was happy at first to see the new deli and layout. Took the family for breakfast. We weren't alone in pure frustration over the wait time after ordering and poorly cooked food (even the simple stuff - over-easy eggs were soupy and not even the whites were fully cooked, gross). Even the coffee was disappointing after they raved about it being the best on the island - far from it. Hopefully it was just a fluke. The one perk was that the prices were really good. We stopped in for lunch around 1pm looking for some good burgers. At the counter we ordered the Honolua Burger and the Teryaki Burger. The guy taking our order didn't speak very good English and I saw a few others ahead of us got the wrong order so I wasn't feeling great about our chances. We didn't get a receipt or anything to check our order, they just gave us a buzzer and we walked around the store and got our drinks. Buzzer went off - went up and he tried to give us someone else's food. We waited probably another 5-10 minutes for another lady to ask what we ordered then hand us two boxes. We quickly peeked in both, looked fine and we checked out ($25 for 2 burgers, 2 fries and 2 drinks). After we sat down I opened my husbands box back up and realized it a Teryaki beef sandwich - not the burger he had ordered. It was my fault - I should have checked closer - but we were starving at this point so I gave him my burger and I ate the sandwich. Luckily both meals were really really good. If the beef hadn't been so delicious and plentiful they would have gotten 2 or 3 stars. I'd say to go here for lunch if you're up north, just make sure to carefully and slowly place your order, double check what they put in the computer and then check your box before you go to check out. read more

I ordered a mahi mahi wrap at their deli and am extremely disappointed in how much money I had to pay for this garbage. I asked them to substitute the onions for tomato, which didn't happen... the fish tasted freezer burned with an extremely "fishy" flavor (which fresh fish is never supposed to have). The tortilla was hard as a rock (and I'm starting to question if it was supposed to be green). Do yourself a favor and stay away. read more

Food is OK and the old store was way better that how it is run now. The management has no clue as to get people checked through so they can get out the door. Customer satisfaction would increase a ton if they would just pay attention to "sense of urgency"! I want to knock myself in the head every time I go in their knowing it's not easy to get out. Oh and this thing about hanging on to my receipt for a prize is a crock of you know what... Walk through the store to the lunch counter in the back. They have 5 or so different entrees everyday, served with rice and potato salad or mac salad. I could not believe how inexpensive the lunch was. Huge portions and only $6.50. Two lunches worth. They were also very gracious and let me sample before I decided on lunch. Good food and picnic tables on the porch of the store....obviously you can take your food to go as well. I would highly recommend the Honolua store if you are in Kapalua or snorkeling in Honolua Bay....or if you are trying to make your food budget stretch..great value. read more
