My my my, what can I say, sushi anyone?! This place is wonderfully hidden with many gems on their menu. The staff upon entering are super nice, the environment is so chill and a vibe. Not your typical quiet sushi spot, it's more "modern". All the items I got were great, the fried tempura roll was so filling, the jalapeño poppers, the chicken fried rice and the soup/salad were also good! For myself to eat with all I got as only $32! Crazy. That honestly could've fed two people easily!

Hooked on Sushi is a great sushi spot in SW Fort Worth. The service is fast and friendly. The restaurant is small, but it's a sushi bar, so that's top be expected. One thing I really love is that tough can get brown rice in your sushi. Overall, excellent and we will be back!

out of 5: Hooked on Sushi is my personal lunch escape--quiet, consistent, and always welcoming. The staff is great, and I love that they bring out a pitcher of ice-cold water right away. Seating is usually wide open, though I do wish they'd remove the old pillows on the left wall--they look a bit unsanitary (I sat there once, never again... table is where you'll find me). Food and service? Top notch. I've never been disappointed! Fave roll alert: the Lemon Roll--add fresh jalapeño (instead of cucumber), you'll thank me later. The protein roll is great too-- loaded with all the goods and wrapped in soy paper-- super filling. I've even mixed the two when over excited ... don't judge. Highly recommend for a chill solo lunch or low-key sushi fix.

I was immediately sat and given plenty of time to think about what I wanted to order. My server was very polite and thanked me every single time he spoke to me. The music was great and the interior was also nice and chill. I ordered the calamari tempura, ninja roll, Hawaiian roll, and the salmon roll. My meal altogether was less than $50 which is great considering the portion sizes (big).

Always the best ever. Service is on top of it. Sometimes I'll get someone quiet but that's ok too. I thought I had reviewed this place before because I added menu photos and even asked for a name of my favorite guy there. We've only gotten one roll we didn't like and it was just a sauce I think. Fresh and the best in the area. Yes I'll be getting some today after not eating for 2 days I'm starving.

Food- Decent. Not the best rolls of my life, but came in with a friend who lives near by and would definitely meet her there again if she chose! Service- Attentive Ambiance- Nice, open floor plan, different seating options. Perfect for groups or solo dining.

One of the best lunches I have had in a really long time. The restaurant itself is trendy and opened space. Nice decor. Service was wonderful and welcoming. Their lunch specials are priced well and very tasty! The bulgogi bento box was flavorful. Miso soup and salad were delicious. The sashimi combo was also very tasty and the presentation was beautiful!!! I order a salmon skin roll on the side and loved it. Will definitely be coming back!

    "Chicken Karage"

Have been here several times before but I could clearly tell that there's new owners. Chicken karage was left overs of fry. The rolls was 90% fake crab. Will unfortunately not come back.

If you've been wanting to try this place, I'd definitely recommend arriving early. Parking was probably the most challenging part of the visit. There was a rummage sale happening nearby, so the area was busier than usual. They do have a designated parking lot, but it's very small and fills up quickly. Most people will likely need to rely on street parking, which took a little patience that day. The restaurant itself is tiny, but that's part of the charm. There's a bar area that seats around 10 to 12 people and only a handful of tables. We were a party of three and were seated right away, but I could see larger groups having a harder time finding space together. The tables are also on the smaller side, so once the food starts arriving things can get a little crowded. That said, the food completely lived up to the hype. Everything we ordered was delicious. The chicken karaage was crispy and flavorful, the marinated ribeye was tender and packed with flavor, and my favorite dish of the night was easily the beef yakisoba. We each ordered a starter, three skewers, and a side that our server recommended, and every plate disappeared quickly. The atmosphere felt lively and busy, with Japanese figurines and decorations displayed throughout the restaurant. I overheard another guest mention that it reminded them of places they had visited in Japan, which made me appreciate the attention to detail even more. One thing to note - we were told they don't split bills, which wasn't a problem for our group, but it's something to know ahead of time if you're dining with friends.

It's those little personal touches that make this place so special. I grabbed a solo seat at the sushi counter since the restaurant was pretty packed. The atmosphere was great, everyone was enjoying dinner while watching the World Cup, making for a fun, lively evening. The food was every bit as good as I remembered, and the service remains outstanding. It's easy to see why this place stays busy. A few helpful notes: There's plenty of parking. They close after lunch and reopen for dinner, so check their hours before heading over. To-go orders are also available. I'll definitely be back and this time, it won't be nearly as long between visits. Highly recommend!

Pros: Peter, the owner and chef, greeted our table and told us his sushi specials, which are flown in special from Tokyo every Friday so they change weekly. They have a lot of sushi combos and platters to service a variety of sizes of parties. We had the sushi combo which was plenty of fish, especially with the cut sizes. Wait staff was very attentive and helpful with the menu. Cons: the entrance is a little off putting but you shouldn't let that deter you. the french menu was lacking in my opinion. There is only one page of options, and we ended up not ordering anything french since the japanese was so appealing. I would've liked to see some seafood or more small plates. Hatsuyuki Handroll Bar is a Japanese hand roll restaurant that focuses on fresh seafood,…read moremade-to-order sushi, and a more interactive dining experience. We walked into a space centered around sitting at the bar and watching the chefs prepare each hand roll in front of us, which gave the meal a more personal feel compared to a traditional sushi restaurant. The setup is smaller and more intimate, making the experience feel closer to a sushi bar rather than a casual meal spot. The biggest highlight is the quality of the fish and the hand rolls themselves. The seafood tastes fresh, clean, and carefully prepared, with options like salmon belly, otoro, kanpachi, and crab hand rolls standing out. We ordered a few different rolls and found each one well executed, with the fish having a clean, bright flavor that did not rely on heavy sauces or toppings. Each roll is made individually, so the nori stays crisp and the textures come through better than pre-made sushi. The menu has a good balance of classic choices and more creative combinations, making it easy to try different flavors throughout the meal. The chef interaction adds another layer to the visit. Since everything is prepared right in front of you, we could see the attention put into each piece, from assembling the ingredients to serving it at the right moment. The chefs were precise in their movements and took the time to explain the different fish and flavor profiles, which made the meal feel more like an experience rather than just ordering sushi off a menu. One thing to plan for is the wait. Hatsuyuki does not take reservations, and the popularity means there can be a significant line during busy hours. We arrived earlier and found it helped us avoid a longer wait. Seating is limited, but that also helps maintain the quality and atmosphere of the restaurant. The intimate size of the bar means the service stays focused and the pacing remains personal, even when the restaurant is full. Hatsuyuki Handroll Bar is one of the stronger sushi experiences in the area for anyone who enjoys fresh seafood and a more curated dining style. The wait can be a downside, but the quality of the fish, chef preparation, and overall atmosphere make it worth visiting, especially if you are looking for something beyond standard sushi rolls. The focus on craftsmanship and the personal interaction with the chefs elevate the meal into something more memorable than a typical sushi stop.

We ended up waiting about an hour and a half, even though we noticed other people arriving after us and getting seated right away while we were still waiting. That being said, the sushi was delicious, and the service was very attentive and friendly. I just wish the seating process had been handled better.
