I have a love/hate relationship with Hooters. The food is always the same, there are never variations for what you order. The smoked jerk wings is usually my to go order for this restaurant (if you haven't tried it you must get it!). I guess I never noticed before but they serve you the food as it's ready. The last time I was here since my smoked wings takes longer to cook, I was the last one to be served. So by the time my wings came over I was already stuffed with fries and picking at my tables meals. Don't mind waiting for my food, but it feels awkward when everyone is trying to be polite and wait for you to get your meal. The service is a hit or miss, sometimes you get a good server, if the place is packed good luck in flagging down a waiter. I STILL love the food at Hooters! Per ushe, I ordered the Bronzed Fish Sandwich but a started with their Fried Pickle appetizer. As always, the fish was perfectly cooked, perfectly seasoned, moist & flaky. Unfortunately, the chef working that day seemed to not be aware if the essential "bronzed" sauce (what could very well just be buffalo sauce. who knows?) but pairs perfectly with the fresh tomato & creamy coleslaw topping. The sandwich was still delicious so I ate most of it while our waitress went to ask. She came back with a container of what I believe to be blackening spice but I had given up by that point & devoured the rest of my sandwich. Note to Self: make sure everyone involved actually knows to add the sauce while ordering. In any case, this sandwich's combination of spice & temperature is SO amazing, I could eat this everyday. I went today, I really like the specials. They have a two five dollar drinks. I believe capitan morgan and something else. The food is ok, fries portion could be bigger, the staff is really friendly which is a plus. It's clean and comfortable. Overall would recommend! The wings of course, but I came here right after work because the week before I went to the Hooters on Commercial Blvd. I had the smoked wings (jerk style) and man was it good over there. So Since this Hooters was on my way I wanted them wings again. I think since it was on like a random Tuesday it wasn't busy or anything like that so we were able to be seated right away but it took our server a long time to come to us. I DO NOT like leaving bad reviews and rarely do. I would much rather walk away and just never return, but so much went wrong during this visit that I just couldn't let things slide. First, I went to the bathroom where one of the employees was cussing to someone on the phone about the f*#!ing music and how all they play was "that Country shi*". Second, it took over 10 minutes for someone to come out to the bar and take our order (it was early and the place was empty). My husband ordered and asked the server if the 20 wings came with 10 drumsticks and 10 flappers, to which she said "yes". When we received our order, there were 17 drumsticks and only 3 flappers! My husband called over the server that brought us our food and explained the situation. She rolled her eyes like our daughters used to do when they were 13! Most of those servers looked like they'd rather be anywhere but there. One of our daughters was a server for many years while going to college and we are EXTREMELY understanding of how hard that job can be, but rolling your eyes out of annoyance should never be tolerated. Surprisingly this has become my go to location for crab legs and buffalo shrimp. I started getting buffalo wings, breaded, with hot sauce and it was all up hill from there. I queried what the delicious hot sauce would taste like on breaded shrimp since I already loved breaded shrimp that much. After ordering buffalo shrimp so many times and it consecutively was amazing. Yes, Hooters' wings are a strange yellow-orange color, and yes, there is usually an 1/8" thick pool of grease left on the tray once you've consumed the wings, but every so often I get a craving for their wings, their curly fries and let's face it, Hooters is one of those restaurants that's just fun to visit every once in a while! This particular Hooters near Coral Gables is a bit unique in that it's not terribly large, the covered patio section sits right on the sidewalk just a few feet from busy Coral Way, and it seems to have an overabundance of large, flat screen TVs compared to most Hooters restaurants (I counted upwards of 30 screens scattered around the place and facing different directions). The large, rectangular bar in the middle of this restaurant is 1/2 inside and 1/2 outdoors; On cooler nights they open up the sliding glass panels that separate the 2 halves of the bar so the entire place is basically an open air restaurant - On warmer nights, they can close off those sliding partitions so the inside is air conditioned, while the patio and outdoor section of the bar is open air. They also have clear plastic screens they can lower on rainy days to keep the rains from blowing in and soaking customers seated on the patio area. Other than those few points, this is a fairly standard Hooters with the regular Hooters menu, drinks and Hooters girls in the familiar white tank tops and orange shorty shorts. Late on a Friday night Miller Lite drafts were $4.25 each, Sam Adams drafts were $5.50 each, and 10 wings with bleu cheese dressing and celery sticks were $11. read more

This review is kind of difficult to make. The reason is that for me, Hooters is about two things and two things only, chicken wings and waitresses with big boobs, so I will evaluate this place based on these two criteria. Chicken Wings: They are great, with a big variety of sauces, from mild to the crazy 3 mile island, you can pick drums only, and select if they come battered or not. If you don't like chicken wings, go elsewhere as this is the only thing worth eating here. Hooters Girls: Forget what you see on TV, on calendars, or anywhere else. Hooters has lost its magic, girls just don't look good anymore, they don't even have decent boobs, and to make things worse, they are clumsy and tend to get your orders wrong. They do get greasy when they sit so, I ate them rather quckly. I ordered the original wings with mild sauce (the pieces without the drumstick) and fries with cheese sauce. I ordered the pickles first but it took them a long time to come out. The wings came out good while later with no sauce and with the drumsticks.
