I have been to this place at least 6 times and I've got to say it one of my favourite places to eat. The food comes out fresh and has all kinds of flavor.The environment is equally as good as the food. The staff is so nice and able to be counted on. If you are also a sports fan they have TV's with sports channels on so you don't miss the game. Do not come here for breakfast! I typically only bother to leave a review when I really feel like somewhere is good but this was one of the most disappointing meals I've had in years. My first clue should have been the fact the restaurant was nearly empty at 10:30 am, so that's my bad. However, from the minute we ordered it started to go downhill. From confusion over what came with our meals, to no silverware, or napkins, to when we actually got our food. First, we ordered our drinks, they came with no issue. However, I realized we had no napkins. We continued on with ordering. We were ordering based on what the menu said but our server kept telling us we were incorrect. Fine. Our food came out, at which time our server told us we were correct in our understanding of the menu but didn't offer to correct our order. We had to ask for silverware, and napkins. I then realized they didn't bring butter out for my pancakes or a knife. So we had to ask. Then the food itself. Genuinely, terrible. Everything was bland, tasted like cheap frozen food - pancake, french toast, sausage, bacon, hash browns, country fried chicken....The pancake had the texture of foam. For two people it was nearly $50! The server was friendly enough and the service itself was fairly quick. I've been here for lunch and it was decent, so we thought we'd try somewhere different for breakfast. I'll stick to Tim's Kitchen or Black Bear. read more

This was our first time here, and let me tell you we were NOT disappointed. EVERYTHING was soooo good! The food, the energy, the staff, everything was perfect! They heard it was our first time and gave us some complimentary hops and drops chips with a side of garlic ranch, and let me tell you, crispy and cooked to perfection. I ordered the BLTA and the ciabatta roll was so fresh and good! My bf ordered the Big Tony's BBQ Mac and he was in pure heaven. He said he's never been so humbled by a Mac and cheese! He was so into it, it's like he forgot I was here. We both also ordered garlic fries, and let me tell you, I've never been somewhere we they aren't afraid to put garlic on things. The homemade garlic ranch is to die for. I'm ready to set up camp and move in to this place as my new home. I just want to eat everything! The staff are so welcoming and polite! Even the bosses checked on us! Everyone works together and is so helpful checking on each other or each others tables. Our waiter Aaron, top tier employee. He made sure we had everything we needed and checked on us and gave us recommendations. Will be coming back to ask to sit in his section again! Very polite and professional! I was so impressed I had to write this before I even finished my meal. Hands down one of the best places I've been. And no I was not paid to say this. As Washington reopens this was a great place near home to check out for the first time. We came for happy hour and we were not disappointed. We sat at the bar, let me say that again, we sat at the bar! Our bartender Nhadlyn was phenomenal. Quick service, smiles and great attitude. We noticed lots of workers, good customer service. Drinks were fun and tasty. Happy hour bites were yummy! We had the mozzarella sticks, crunchy and not greasy. The queso dip was a nice filling surprise with meat added. We also had the BBQ Flatbread, this was our least favorite as the crust was like a cracker, too thin, and undercooked. Flavor was good. Well, I tried this for a third time, and it's time to review. Our order patty melt garlic tots with a real fruit long island ice tea, chicken avocado salad, and kids cheese burger with fries. First, let's talk about the price. Surprisingly, i expected them to charge an arm and leg after covid. Most meals ranged between $15-18 for dinner. Not bad. Now the good, the onions on the patty melt were perfect. The fries and the tots were great. The garlic tots were a little extra oily but over good. The service was pretty good. Our waitress was attentive friendly, the manager even ran the food when it was ready because she was a little busy. The food came out quickly. Where to start with the rest. I am posting a picture of my "Real Fruit Long Island," which was the only picture I got. The description was deceiving. I got the huckleberry raspberry one. The only fruit was the lemon on the side. There was little substance to it, mostly syrup. This cost 12.95. It's not worth it at all. The patty melt was, in whole, unsatisfying. The 9 grain bread cooked well, but the sandwhich had no flavor. This was the same issue with the meat on the kids' cheese burger. The meat was not seasoned by ground beef pressed into a patty. They gave me their version of campfire sauce...this was their words.... this was no way close to campfire sauce, closer to 1000 island, but with too much mayo base and not enough of the other ingredients. The salad dressing my wife got was avacado ranch. Just like the "campfire sauce," it had no flavor just mayo with a slight green tint. The salad came with 3 little slices of avocado, maybe a 1/8th of a full avacado. Like the meat on the burgers, the chicken was unseasoned. The only time this salad had flavor was when my wife asked for salt and pepper and seasoned it herself. Like I said previously, this is our 3rd time trying hop and drops. It will be our last. Maybe it is me, but I wish the restaurant would focus on satisfying and putting out a good product rather than the turnover. This is the issue with chains. Happy hours are the best times to go, especially for the great deals! Service is not always spot on, but that's probably because the servers know we're being frugal about our menu selections. The one thing they don't know though, is that we used to work in F&B and we are generous with tips if they just engaged a little with us and refilled our water more often. Our go to's are zucchini fries, garlic fries and burgers are pretty good and filling here. Highly recommend the Hops n Drops fries with their fry sauce, beef nachos, fish tacos, and burgers! Love their giant refillable strawberry lemonades too. Portions are always more than enough so be conscious if you don't want to leave bursting at the seams! We've been here 3 times so far & every time the service somehow gets better & quicker! The food here is usually pretty good, which means it's a consistently issue. What I notice is it has a lot has to do with the staff, they get a little sloppy when they get really busy ... which is often. For instance, during one of my visits, it was really busy and my burger came out blue rare (cold rare center). That's fine if you're ordering a steak, but not for ground meat. To their credit, they were quick to rectify it. This issue is really apparent I use to do take outs ... yes, I don't do take out with them anymore. I've had incomplete orders, undercooked food, order is lost, etc. Again, I notice this happens mostly when they are really busy. Next, their prices are reasonable when everything is going well. Again, when they are really busy, the ambiance (mostly the noise level) and the service (can get slow) then I'm not willing to spend my money here. I was there the other day... Looks to me like they've completely change the staff since my last visit. I sat at the bar and I don't know what the problem was, but it seemed like she was disorganized and distracted. I ordered the smoky rib tips and they came out barely warm. Plus they were flavorless... No wonder they have to give you a side of barbecue sauce. My wife and I used to visit this place often, but it is sure gone to pot. I've seen Hops N Drops around in my travels around the Seattle metro area but never went to one until this new one in Frederick opened. I didn't have a huge interest on going to one until I heard that their mini doughnuts were really something to try. So Steve and I took a short trip and made our way here. Indeed the doughnuts were very good! Like most things it's good to eat them hot and fresh, in other words right away! Hops N Drops also has a lot of local beer on tap and after looking at their tap list I got a beer from a local brewery but not one I have been to for years. So it was nice enjoying a familiar beer again. Hops N Drops also has lots of wine and what looked like an extensive food menu but we already had lunch prior to coming here so perhaps another time we will explore those options more. read more

I thought I'd give them a second try. And glad I did! I decided to order the French dip. In all honesty, I was blown away with how delicious this actually was. The dish came with a lot of delicious meat served on a crunchy/toasted garlic butter coated roll. I was given on the side horseradish which had just the right amount of pep for this dish. The au jus was delicious, but I enjoyed the sandwich with it without . I also ordered a side of French fries which I do regret. I'm just not a fan of the type. Let's talk about the food. ..... the street tacos were far from street tacos other than they were on a small tortilla and they were cold and the cheese hadn't even begin to melt... flat bread pizza was ok but was cold even the chicken still had cold spots in it... I had been watching this place go up for a few months and was really eager to check it out. One afternoon last week, we were able to stop for drinks and lunch. The hostess seated us and gave us food and drink menus and our server came over quickly to take drink orders. Everyone was very friendly and customer service oriented, they were off to a good start! The beer menu is kind of lame for a place called Hops n Drops. I really expected a lot more beers on draft. They had about three IPAs, Reds, and a couple of Porters. Plus your usual yucky domestics. The food was much better and we settled on the Triple Threat Chicken Sandwich and the Tomato Basil Grilled Cheese. Both sandwiches are good but the Triple Threat really wasn't spicy at all and it was supposed to be real spicy based on the description. The grilled cheese was good, but a little light on the cheese. The prices on food are a little too high. We are talking about $13 grilled cheese and $10 appetizer queso. I don't mind paying for a good meal, but I just didn't feel like the food met the price point. The fries were excellent though! I almost forgot to mention them. They were the weak MVP! Overall, it was a positive experience and I'll be back to try a burger in the future! read more

Beautiful restaurant! We've been waiting to try this restaurant for some time now. So this review is based solely on the weekend breakfast menu. I ordered the Rise n Shine Grilled Cheese with a side of a pancake. I was surprised when they said I could choose from a pancake as my side since it wasn't listed. The sandwich was everything I had hoped for and more. I ordered it with no mayo and it was delectable! The pancake was good too! Service was good and fast but I am knocking off a star. Why you ask? Coffee was not good. I understand this place isn't a breakfast joint but please invest in some higher quality coffee. Also this is just a personal thing but we didn't like that we were required to write in the tip amount with the waitress standing there - talk about pressure! We don't give bad tips but it just felt uncomfortable. Our waitress was great of course, but I know myself along with a few others really don't like it when they stay there while the tip is being written down. Lastly, my husband ordered the breakfast tacos with a side of hash browns and wasn't amazed. The hash browns weren't very crispy - could have used an extra 5 min on the grill and the tacos were good but nothing special. Overall - I would give this place a shot! I'm torn on a rating. the food and beer are great... The Fredrickson location management is eh depending on the manager. we have eaten there several times with our dog on the patio. he is well behaved, loves people, listens, etc. we went one day a few weeks ago and were told dogs are allowed outside ONLY if they stay on the other side of the fence. the manager informed me this was a new company wide policy, and was not very polite about it. I called another location was told this isn't true. fast forward to today. we were there and there were two dogs INSIDE SITTING IN THE BOOTH!!! not on the floor and neither one had a service dog vest. they were climbing all over the booth, one even had its front paws on the table. How is this ok?! I'm going to call corporate and talk to them about the policy and also that they allow dogs inside sitting at the booth and pretty much on the table. Again, neither one had a service dog vest on and service dogs don't help themselves to the table. read more

Went for our almost monthly Lovely Ladies Lunch. I had the Guacamole Bacon Burger Protein Style but promptly ruined my good intentions by eating their amazing French fries. Protein Style means a lettuce bun which they were excellent on. The lettuce was crunchy and the layers were thick. I've had lettuce buns that were laughable.
