The best of the bunch was the dahi batata puri, but it still didn't quite hit the spot. It was definitely on the sweeter side and I felt like the dahi/yogurt wasn't as creamy as I prefer. The chinese bhel was okay, but didn't have much flavor. Lastly the ragda pattice had so much potential. The flavor was there, but it was insanely spicy- even as someone with a med/high spice tolerance. You could feel the burn traveling down to your stomach. All of us found it unbearable and worse of all felt the affects for a day after. Perhaps we ordered the wrong dishes but after the all the discomfort of the meal- I don't feel inclined to return.

Yesterday, I ordered a Vada Pav, Shalimar Egg Mughlai (on their recommendation from their list of egg dishes), and a Veg Frankie -- and honestly, none of it lived up to the hype(5 stars currently) or price point. Vada Pav: It was okay. The "mirchi" served alongside was literally a raw Thai green chili. Really? At least pan-fry it with some salt and oil to enhance the flavor. For over $10 with taxes, this was already pricier than better Vada Pavs you can get at places like Elco Drive, and yet it offered nothing exceptional. Frankie: This one made me genuinely angry. It was a soggy maida roll stuffed with the same aloo masala from the Vada Pav, plus a few sad shreds of cabbage. That's it. And they had the audacity to charge $12 for it. ($1.50 for cheese, lol I am glad we didn't add)This isn't a Frankie -- it's a lazy repackaged Vada Pav with no flavor or creativity. They threw in some pickled jalapeños on the side, which only added confusion. If you're running a fusion menu(well partially), at least mention it upfront instead of misleading customers. Egg Shalimar Mughlai: At $13, it was passable but still not impressive. The bun on the side was not toasted or anything. Better than the Frankie, but nothing I'd recommend or return for. I was so excited for trying this place but, overall, this place is overpriced, underwhelming, and frankly disappointing. If your Vada Pav and Frankie are practically identical, maybe inform customers before they order both. I wouldn't recommend Maya Kitchen -- save your time, appetite and money and go somewhere else. Thank me later.

A true hidden South Bay gem. This taco truck is just outside my neighborhood and a major temptation…read moreevery time I'm driving back from work. Let's start with what the tacos have in common. The tortillas taste fresh and have a distinct corn flavor; not as much as some of the more yellow tortillas certain spots have, but more than most places. They have 4 salsas available at the self-serve bar on the side of the truck. From least to most hot, there's a tomatillo salsa which is a little thin, an avocado salsa with a fresh jalapeños flavor, a slightly creamy chipotle salsa, and a smokey red salsa. In addition, you can grab radishes, cucumbers, and more pickled onions. All of their tacos plates come with a generous portion of grilled onions. Whenever I go to a new taco spot, I always try the same three meats: al pastor, asada, and carnitas. The asada was solid, with decent seasoning and no weirdly textured pieces of meat. The Al pastor was even better, with a tender texture with some crispy bits, meat-forward flavor, and just enough adobo and pineapple flavor to balance it out. Still, my favorite was the carnitas, which were crisp, well-seasoned, and paired the best with their salsas and the other accompaniments. In whatever case, you can't go wrong with whatever your meat choice is. Basically their whole menu is worth ordering. I often get a regular burrito and ask for them to add both their red and green salsas. I'm someone who tends to drown my Mexican food in salsa and between the two of those I hardly have to add any more. I've also had their flour and their corn quesadillas; the corn quesadillas are especially interesting because they're about as large as their flour tortillas but pressed fresh by hand with masa. If you've ever had a pupusa but been disappointed by the dough to filling ratio, you should absolutely give a corn quesadilla a shot. Carnitas are an excellent stand on for chicharrón.

The first bite of my burrito was a great first impression. The lengua taco was also good! I would definitely come back! The ambiance felt chill and safe.

In $18, we got: - chicken momo - 4/5 - $11 for 8 pcs seemed expensive compared to everest momo but taste was decent so i would still recommend it. Made fresh and served with 2 sauces. Both paired well! - freshly squeezed lemonade with mint - 2/5 - definitely not freshly squeezed and too expensive for a food truck lemonade. Skip this item. Overly sweet for my taste. Deducting 1 star for being too expensive and slow for a food truck quick bite.

They were okay, but not really my style. The dumplings were filled with ground chicken, which isn't my favorite, and I'm not sure if that's the standard preparation or just the option I got. The flavor was mild, and while the dipping sauce helped, it wasn't anything particularly exciting. Service was fast and efficient, and the food came out hot. It's a food truck, so expect a casual setup--no seating and limited space to stand around. Parking was a little difficult, but that's pretty standard for street food spots. Overall, I wouldn't say it was bad, but it didn't stand out either. If you love ground chicken momos, you might enjoy it more than I did.
