HostWell routinely cleans the house I live in, which is also an AirBnB, and they manage the listings. The Tenant of Record for the AirBnB, informed HostWell that I'm allergic to their cleaning supplies, and that I'll be severely disabled, have my life threatened, lose 3 or more days of work ($1500+) and incur $300-600 in medical recovery cost, *each time* they fill the house with fumes... about once per week. So did they swap those out for green materials? Lol, No. Instead, when I got increasingly annoyed with the ToR about being disabled out of work weekly, the owner of HostWell, Keith, got mad that the AirBnB guests were leaving bad reviews hearing me complain! After 6 months of *blaming me* for the problem, he came over to suggest purposely causing me a heart attack to "resolve" the situation. So, heads-up, make sure you have all your personal insurance policies up to date and a lawyer on speed dial, if you have the misfortune of accidentally staying in a HostWell-managed AirBnB. read more

Absolutely horrible. A member of the cleaning crew stole my $5,000 camera and lenses. Nothing was done about it even after filing a police report because I couldn't prove it. The only my people who has access to my apartment was HostWell with 2 separate keys!!! How convenient that they stole my camera on the last scheduled cleaning day. They show up whenever they want and let themselves in. One at 10pm and another time when I was in the shower. read more

I'm a big fan of HostWell and am so thankful to have found them. I am an Airbnb Superhost for over 4 years in a row and take my hosting very seriously. Before I found HostWell, I went through four different cleaning services, and they were all terrible. They either didn't follow instructions, or completely flaked altogether, and guests would arrive to a completely messy apartment! Keith and his team have completely solved this pain point. HostWell follows instructions, does an immaculate job cleaning, and, most importantly, are always there...even on same-day, last-minute requests! HostWell's linens are wonderful. When I travel, Keith is my emergency onsite contact and does full property management services. Finally, there is nobody more knowledgeable than Keith about short term rentals in general and San Francisco legislation specifically. His advice has been priceless. If I could give Hostwell 10 stars I would. I have had many other house cleaning services before but NEVER one as excellent as Hostwel I have been using Hostwell for a little over one year as the cleaning service for my Airbnb unit. A big part of the reason I am an Airbnb Superhost is because of the excellent service they provide. All my Airbnb guests rave about the cleanliness of the place. Plus for me, I love that they provide hotel quality towels and linens in addition to cleaning the unit. It would have been impossible for me to rent out the place as often as I do if had some else clean who did NOT also provide the linen service. Plus since Hostwell is integrated within the Airbnb system. I don't have to call them to schedule a clean. They get an update on their calendar when I have a booking and they schedule accordingly. Only once, when I had a last minute booking, did I have to call to schedule them. And they were able to service my needs at the last minute. They are professional, consistent and trustworthy. The few times that we have minor blips (which is normal given how often I use them) they always made it up to me. One time when they were short staffed and I had a last minute booking, the owner himself came and did the clean! It helps that the owner is also an Airbnb host, so he knows how important a reliable cleaning service is in order to be a good host. read more

HostWell has made renting out the spare room in my house seamless. They're professional, trustworthy and thorough. I've used them over a year for regular cleaning, linen services, and whole management when I was out of the area. Recently, while staying at an airbnb in a different large city, I was able to compare how awesome HostWell is. The apartment we rented was generally good but there was trash and laundry all over when we arrived, despite the house keeper having already come through. My friend and I ended up being the ones to clean and put stuff away. Things like a crumby toaster, dust on top of the fridge (and everywhere), and general small debris highlighted how thoroughly and detailed HostWell cleans every time (seriously, they clean the toaster every visit). Huge thank you to them! They make it possible for me to put a spare room to good use as I know both my place will be well taken care of and that guests will have a 5 star experience. read more

I'm very grateful to have found Hostwell--what a contrast to the previous experience with another company, Pillow. Hostwell has managed our downstairs short-term rental for almost two years now and I'm very satisfied. They do high-quality cleanings and stock the unit with high-quality supplies. Keith, the owner, is responsive to me by text and very easy to communicate with. He is resourceful and practical and has good advice both about the details of the space and about city regulations and taxes. Together, we have established Super Host status (within the Airbnb guidelines), and maintained Super Host status for each of my 2 listings within the Airbnb platform since then. Another update. Airbnb was unable to fix the issue and neither is HostWell. We now continue to get charged each time we have a guest. Payment goes directly to HostWell. Unfortunately the algorithm that HostWell uses will charge you for every guest you have on the books when you add HostWell as a Co host. Even though we terminated our relationship with HostWell, our cleaning fees are still being diverted to them for every stay that was on the books during our brief relationship. I highly warm anyone who might sign on with HostWell. Only do so if you intend to get full service listing management. I have contacted them and they have since refunded me $420 but money continues to be diverted and I must continue email them and hope they refund me the money. Another update. 8/8/18 Hostwell has fixed their system so it no longer diverts money from my paying guests to their account but they still owe me money and now they are no longer responding to my emails. I have used HostWell's Cleaning and Linen Services for almost 2 months. During this time, my guests have enjoyed the luxury of top grade linen, including comforter covers and high grade towels, while I have been allowed the luxury of extra time to attend personal matters. I no longer worry about my towels showing sign of aging nor my washing machine and dryer failing. Scheduling and invoicing via email has worked well and my requested scheduling times have been addressed accordingly. Over and Above the Dependable Quality Service, I especially appreciate that the Cleaning Service Staff is pleased with working environment created by HostWell's proprietor Keith. Horrible service. I booked a property two months out and paid the deposit. As expected, they send the 2nd payment notice 1 month out. Only then, did I get the reply that the host no longer works with them and that Hostwell had refunded the payment. At no point in the intervening month did they notify my and instead actually sent a bill. Now, I need to scramble to find another place at short notice Really sub par service. read more

My family stayed at an Airbnb manaaged by HOSTWELL. Our 5 night stay at this residence was unfortunately the worst experience we've had with Airbnb or any of the other vacation rental services we've used. Considering the issues we experienced (listed below), the home was obviously grossly misrepresented on Airbnb - maybe worth half of the price we paid. HOSTWELL's response was that they were unaware of these issues. But that is the core of the problem. HOSTWELL completely failed to prepare this home. Airbnb customers obviously expect and deserve their booked (and paid for) home to be prepared by the time they arrive. We were offered a very small refund, which we refused. Sadly, I'm guessing that most accept it and do not post a review. Issues: * The heating system was broken, resulting in a very cold first night. The system ran constantly, but it took multiple hours just to move the temperature from 60 to 64 degrees. * The heating control system was locked out - couldn't set the temperature higher than 72 degrees. I've never stayed anywhere where I wasn't allowed to set the temperature to a level I felt to be comfortable. This wasn't resolved until late into the 2nd night. * The heating system would shut itself off when nobody was in the home, resulting in (again) waiting multiple hours for the home to get warm after arriving in the evening (which continued to occur throughout our entire stay, even after we were assured the auto-shutoff was disabled) * Significant rat trace under the kitchen sink * Not very clean (especially the bathrooms), despite the high cleaning fee charged ($372 for our stay, and we were instructed to clean our dishes before leaving?) * Continuously leaking seal in the bath faucet In HOSTWELL's response, they said we should have asked to leave, "in which case we'd have honored a full refund of any unused nights." Telling a family that, since the home that you paid for is not functional or prepared, they can pack up again and try to find someplace else to stay if they want a refund, and during Berkeley graduation weekend when there is nothing else available... suffice to say we did not expect that response. Another HOSTWELL response that included a very sad and insulting accusation: "In addition, the listing lists 4 twin beds, but you saw fit to use 5 of them. We haven't gone through the video footage to see how many people entered the house..." What HOSTWELL saw was the result of my family removing the covers from the beds not being used to help us stay warm. Their video surveillance proves that. read more

Keith runs a tight ship. Everything is super professional and all cleanings, emergency situations, personal check-ins, maintenance is really top notch. The guys really know their stuff and are also up to date with all the current policies, regulations, and need to know in order to operate and run your place. There are many companies out there that will help you manage but I believe Hostwell is the best and certainly treats each customer as a customer and does not take a cookie-cutter approach to managing vacation rentals which are VERY common with the bigger companies out there. HostWell has consistently showed up on time, and never missed or canceled a scheduled cleaning. This consistency provided me with a level of trust I still have today, knowing I can always count on Taylor and Keith to not only clean my house quickly and efficiently, but also to ensure that the house is perfectly ready for new guests to check in.
