Both were really jolly which makes our dine-in experience better. Food is always yummy and made really well here. Yaki beef is there new protein option, savory version of the original beef (Guyon ?) comes with spicy oil (add on fee 0.50). Highly recommend if you like more seasonings on your protein. The food was prepared with something like bacteria in it, because I had diarrhea and stomach issues the whole night afterwards. The service was ok. But definitely, they are not preparing the food right here. This has happened and is very disgusting for a shop to be serving bad food and I'm getting sick the entire night. I don't know what else to say, other than I'm scared to go back to Yoshinoya Rosemead, so I go to other Yoshinoya shops nearby and have no problems. COVID-19: Social distancing is not enforced at this establishment. Some of the staff wears a mask. All customers are not expected to wear a mask. It's optional now. Some of the staff also wears gloves. There are some hand sanitizers available for customers to use. This place is available for take outs and has some indoor seating available with no limited capacity. They are not sanitizing in between customers. COVID-19 Vaccination Proof: This establishment currently does not require proof of vaccination. While I was grabbing my food from this establishment several days ago, I asked if they had any special offers and they weren't offering any at the moment. They currently don't have happy hour. They also do not allow pets in their establishment UNLESS it's a service animal. Parking: The parking lot for this establishment is decent. The lot doesn't get full easily. No problems with finding a spot. Food: I ordered a beef bowl. Yoshinoya's Beef Bowl features thin slices of USDA choice beef simmered with fresh onions in a special sauce of herbs and spices over a bed of plump steamed white rice. From my experience, the beef and onions is usually slow-simmered in a mirin (sweet rice vinegar) and soy sauce based broth as well as some bonito (fish) flakes or dashi (seaweed based) giving it a distinctive taste that I only associated with Japanese beef bowls. Yoshinoya makes as good a beef bowl as any other Japanese restaurants that I've been to that actually serve it (not many do). The beef has a good slightly vinegary, soy flavor and is fairly tender and quite thin, add the tendon and there's quite a bit of texture to the beef. Staff: The staff here are very friendly, fast, and welcoming. They accept both cash and credit cards. There is no credit card minimum. read more

The service here is very slow even when not a lot of customers in store. The food is made rushed, my order was wrong. The cashier was extremely rude to me, I believed her name was Janet, she snatched the coupon almost from my hand, when she gave me my order I asked for more ginger (she only gave me 2 for 3 bigger plates) she denied and said if I wanted more I had to pay for it. I didn't know buying packets of ginger was a thing, I only wanted a few more. When I asked her for chilli powder she gave me attitude and only put one on my bag. I reached out to customer service left voicemail but never received a call back. I will never be going back to this Yoshinoya location and hope that as a company you guys retrain Janet , she needs some basic professional customer service training. What's up: It's dinner time and someone had a craving for Yoshinoya. It's been so long since I've had this! I always liked their beef and chicken bowls. Yum! Parking: This place shares its parking with the nearby businesses. Just look for the giant sign for Big Saver Foods and you'll be in the right place. Parking was easy to find when I went around 5:40pm. Environment: Masks are required to enter. They are currently closed for indoor dining, so it's all to go orders. I placed an online order with their Yoshinoya app before arriving. Note: they charge a 50¢ "digital service fee" if you order with their app (boo!). What was ordered: - 2 combo bowls: Teriyaki Chicken/Original Beef, Original Beef/Grilled Steak (you can't go wrong with the Teriyaki Chicken and Original Beef. The Grilled Steak was an extra $1.50 and I wasn't a fan since it was dry) - Spring Rolls (not much veggie filling on the inside, outside was nice and crisp) - Cheesecake (a lot smaller than I expected, sweet) Yay/Nay/Meh: Meh. This Yoshinoya is skimpy as hell. When I asked for extra beef broth on the side, the person taking my order was OK with it. However, I was told after that it would be $.75 each so I declined. I was in the worst part. The worst part is how skimpy they are on the beef. I think I legit only had four strands of beef for one of my bowl. The beef was dry and chewy. It's Yoshinoya, not the best nor trash. We all wish it was like the Japanese ones with over 10 combinations and an available egg yolk option, but this place will do if you're craving watered down gyudon and 'teriyaki' chicken. Most people get vegetables but a lesser-known trick is that you can get potatoes (like the ones from Taco Bell) as a replacement! It's actually tasty and good if you want more carbs. They do give an okay amount but sometimes that beats sad boiled vegetables (shit at least flavor it, there's already a lack of beef and chicken seasoning). This location gives good portions :) I never open a large box and see scattered beef belly fat and rice. It's always a good pile of meat covering ~80-90% of the rice! Sadly Yoshinoya's beef simmer juice/sauce is always lacking in true Japanese flavors (even tho this is a real Japanese brand :/ The teriyaki chicken portion is standard like most Yoshinoya but it's not overly sauced here (which ruins it in my opinion...too sweet, makes the rice nasty). I'm not a fan of their teriyaki sauce obviously. I do wish they grill their chicken a bit more to give it more flavor and texture, but this is still fast food...you can't expect too much or you'll always be disappointed. Clam chowder sucks. Don't ever get it; it taste like rehydrated MRE. It's grainy and flavorless. Where are the clams? Campbell's tastes better even though it just barely pass as 'clam chowder'. Cheesecake that small for $3? Lol...go Jack in the Box. A really clean store makes it nice to sit down a seat even though you wanted it togo in the first place. If I could leave a zeor star, I will. This location service is very bad. There are two Asian guys, I believe they are owner or co-owner, the older one is OK, but the younger one is very bad. I have been to this location many times before. Every time I just wanted use my American Express gold card, because I earn 4 points per dollar for restruant purchase. All other cashiers in this merchant took American Express credit card without any problem, but when the younger Asian guy as the cashier, he refused to take my American Express credit card every time, told me that they didn't take American Express at all. He is a bad liar. On 10/31/23, at 7:01pm, I placed a Uber Eats order with this location, at their parking lot, and I walked in to wait my order to be ready. I have waited at least 15 minutes, and nothing happened. The younger Asian guy told me there was no Uber Eats order in their system, and asked me why not just pay at the counter. I contacted Uber customer service right away, I have been told that Uber saw my order was placed but not accepted by this merchant. Uber suggested me cancelled this order, and I placed my Uber order again, but with Yoshinoya Alhambra location, 10 minutes later, my order was ready and I picked up. So based on my past experiences with this merchant, I strongly believe that this merchant intentionally did not accept my Uber order, and hoping me just pay them directly at the counter. Then this merchant may save some platform fees, just like they wanted to save American Express credit card processing fee by telling customer that they do not take American Express, but in fact, their system takes American Express payment but only this younger Asian guy. This merchant wasted my valuable time by not accept my Uber order, wasted my time to contact Uber customer service, wasted my time to place my Uber order with other Yoshinoya location. I've been meaning to write about this place since I've been coming here for my lunch break once every of couple of weeks. The parking during the afternoon is usually full in the front so I go in the back which tends to have a space or two. There is usually one cashier to take an order but the wait isn't long. I tend to order the Combo Feast which consists 2 Combo Bowls(beef and chicken), 4 Spring Rolls, and 4pc Wings. With a coupon it's $13.99 which is a pretty good deal for 3 guys. I have to say the Wings taste really good and I could eat a bucket of them. Believe it or not they make a decent Clam Chowder too which I didn't realize until a few weeks ago. It's good and filling and not greasy like your typical fast food. Plus it's pretty affordable so you can't go wrong. read more

Rude. Laughable customer service. Didn't get my order right. To start off, was ignored when I was the only person in line. Not busy at all. I don't mind a restaurant being offline/too busy status when they're unavailable to take orders via Postmates, but being online still and letting you submit an order to cancel within 1 min of me placing an order not 1, not 2 but 3 times, that is frustrating. Save your restaurant time from cancelling orders but also save customers from wasting time to order by changing your status accordingly. The restaurant closes at 9pm, I've ordered those times between 8-8:10pm. Here's a solution, stop taking Postmates orders by 8pm instead of 8:30pm (as it states on your Postmates page). read more

Before leaving this review, I see that I'm not alone in my main points of this review. Janet helped me, I see her name already mentioned here. Stingy on condiments and refused to scan for rewards are the other points already mentioned here. So it's a thing with this location. I order Yoshinoya weekly for my employees at my business, but at a different location. Safe to say that this Garvey/Jackson location operates their location significantly different. And different bad. I hardly go to this location and after this visit, I was reminded WHY I hardly go to this location. Right off the bat when I walk in, I see Janet (that's the name on my receipt) speaking Cantonese to another customer who just ordered. Sometimes I can't tell if people speaking Cantonese are yelling at each other or not because of the way the language is commonly spoken. But she was complaining to the customer that he was using the card wrong, and not being patient with her, etc. And he also spoke loudly yelling over to better not make his food dry. Anyway, as confirmed with other reviews, she refused to scan my rewards QR because I'm using a coupon. She says you can't "double dip." I said I just did it at another location a few days ago. She says "company policy just changed this weekend." I thought it was BS at the time but had no proof. Instead I told her "but my app has coupons on it and if I use that the system AUTOMATICALLY applies my order to my rewards. Isn't that 'double dipping'"? She just shrugs with no reply saying that's the app, not their location... no rewards scan. I ordered 2 combos and a combo XL, essentially 3 combos. When getting the food I ask for ginger, pepper, soy sauce, chili sauce. She gives only 2 ginger packs. I immediately ask her for more, she only gives 2 more and walks away to take someone's order. I see someone else walk out front from the back and I ask her can I have 2 more gingers (2 ginger packs per plate). Janet hears this and walks away from her customer back to me saying she already gave me enough ginger. I said I have 3 plates here and have only 4 packs after I already asked her for more. She says normally it's 2 ginger packs PER ORDER, and I made one order. So I said you really want me to make 3 separate orders of one plate individually with you so I'll get 2 packs per plate?? She gets upset and says "okay here". I didn't find out until I opened the bag, she only gave me ONE MORE ginger in that episode. So a total of 5 gingers, not 6. I also see that she only gave me 2 soy sauces, one pepper pack, and ZERO chili sauces. I totally should have double checked everything before I left. I'll definitely remember to never go back there. It almost never fails. A restaurant has a really good thing going. They're successful, they've got a great product. People flock to it........then they can't help but @$$_#@ it up in order to eek out every last penny of profit. A&W did it with their root beer, Bob's did it with their "big boy" double decker burger and now Yoshinoya is doing it. They used to have a great clam chowder. Not a lot of clam in it, but what place ever does put enough clam meat in it?! But it had a great flavor. A real hidden gem of an item on their menu. But now they've screwed that up. It used to be a milk based chowder, really tasty. But I just went there tonight and they've changed it to a water based chowder and it sucks! I'll still go back occasionally for their chicken and veggies, but not nearly as often as I used to. Good luck with that!!!! read more

Yesterday, 8/1/23, was my 1st time at this particular Yoshinoya. The order was promptly taken but they were very, very slow at serving. It wasn't very busy but I waited a long time to be served my food. I noticed that people behind the counter were rushing back and forth but weren't getting much accomplished (like a chicken w/out a head). I thought that maybe they were new, so I patiently waited.....and waited some more. Had to sit down cuz I got tired of standing - yes, that's how long it took. When my order was finally ready, I approached the front counter, looked in the bag to make sure order was correct, and condiments were provided. I noticed that they were pretty skimpy on ginger so I asked if I could get more ginger. Lady at the front desk responded that they "are only allowed to provide 3 pkgs of ginger" and that I'd have to pay for extra. I was like, WHAT???? Really??? Honestly, I've never had to pay extra for ginger at any other Yoshi. I'm not one to be rude so I just responded, "that's ridiculous" and turned and walked away. I shudda asked for manager but I had a feeling she was the manager or probably the franchise owner. Anyway, I sat down to eat, an there were plenty of ants at the table/wall. Besides the wait, no extra ginger, and ant problem, I do have to say that the food was nicely prepared. I ordered a chicken bowl, no skin, w/rice, veggies and extra sauce, which I paid extra for (other locations charge as well, so i had no problem), spring rolls, which were nice browned to perfection and were nice hot and crispy.
