Checking in to my all time favorite Yoshinoya!
    Janet T.

I just had to STOP BY my all time childhood favorite food joint YOSHINOYA!! I was so sad and heart broken when they closed down one of the locations the YOSHINOYA in SAN DIEGO because that was one of the closest location to Temecula... SONG of the DAY to play along to this YELP REVIEW: Officially Missing You by TAMIA... I thought that from this heartache I could escape But I fronted long enough to know There ain't no way And today I'm officially missing YOSHINOYA... Oh, can't nobody cook it like you Said every little thing you do Hey, Yoshinoya say it stays on my mind And I (and I), I'm officially craving you... 2 LARGE CHICKEN & BEEF BOWLS: 10/10 I got the special 2 large bowls for 15.99 half udon and half rice for an extra $1 per bowl. I love and enjoy the classic bowls. It's always consistently delicious and I am in nostalgia... CLAM CHOWDER: 9/10 I love the thickness and creaminess of the soup made here but, I took off one point because the potatoes were slightly undercooked. SERVICE: A++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ There was a very sweet Asian mat at the cashier and she would welcome you with her nice smile and friendly ways like "Sure honey" and "your food is ready honey" She was very patient with my order and did not rush me. Very professional!! PARKING: Plenty but busy!!!!! ROCK ON YOSHINOYA GARVEY & JACKSON!!!!!!

COVID-19: Social distancing is not enforced at this establishment. Some of the staff wears a mask. All customers are not expected to wear a mask. It's optional now. Some of the staff also wears gloves. There are some hand sanitizers available for customers to use. This place is available for take outs and has some indoor seating available with no limited capacity. They are not sanitizing in between customers. COVID-19 Vaccination Proof: This establishment currently does not require proof of vaccination. While I was grabbing my food from this establishment several days ago, I asked if they had any special offers and they weren't offering any at the moment. They currently don't have happy hour. They also do not allow pets in their establishment UNLESS it's a service animal. Parking: The parking lot for this establishment is decent. The lot doesn't get full easily. No problems with finding a spot. Food: I ordered a beef bowl. Yoshinoya's Beef Bowl features thin slices of USDA choice beef simmered with fresh onions in a special sauce of herbs and spices over a bed of plump steamed white rice. From my experience, the beef and onions is usually slow-simmered in a mirin (sweet rice vinegar) and soy sauce based broth as well as some bonito (fish) flakes or dashi (seaweed based) giving it a distinctive taste that I only associated with Japanese beef bowls. Yoshinoya makes as good a beef bowl as any other Japanese restaurants that I've been to that actually serve it (not many do). The beef has a good slightly vinegary, soy flavor and is fairly tender and quite thin, add the tendon and there's quite a bit of texture to the beef. Staff: The staff here are very friendly, fast, and welcoming. They accept both cash and credit cards. There is no credit card minimum.

What's up: It's dinner time and someone had a craving for Yoshinoya. It's been so long since I've had this! I always liked their beef and chicken bowls. Yum! Parking: This place shares its parking with the nearby businesses. Just look for the giant sign for Big Saver Foods and you'll be in the right place. Parking was easy to find when I went around 5:40pm. Environment: Masks are required to enter. They are currently closed for indoor dining, so it's all to go orders. I placed an online order with their Yoshinoya app before arriving. Note: they charge a 50¢ "digital service fee" if you order with their app (boo!). What was ordered: - 2 combo bowls: Teriyaki Chicken/Original Beef, Original Beef/Grilled Steak (you can't go wrong with the Teriyaki Chicken and Original Beef. The Grilled Steak was an extra $1.50 and I wasn't a fan since it was dry) - Spring Rolls (not much veggie filling on the inside, outside was nice and crisp) - Cheesecake (a lot smaller than I expected, sweet) Yay/Nay/Meh: Meh. Overall, the food was ok. Next time, I'll definitely go back to the fan favorites of Teriyaki Chicken and Original Beef. The Grilled Steak was not worth it. Pickup at the counter was easy. Credit cards are accepted.

Literally all the beef I had after one bite...

This Yoshinoya is skimpy as hell. When I asked for extra beef broth on the side, the person taking my order was OK with it. However, I was told after that it would be $.75 each so I declined. I was in the worst part. The worst part is how skimpy they are on the beef. I think I legit only had four strands of beef for one of my bowl. The beef was dry and chewy. On top of that, the onion don't look like it's truly cooked and the beef broth.

I don't do lots of review..but this place is the worst I have seen. The cashier Joselyn is obvious not happy. Sue said only allow give 1 pack of ginger. Another more will be a charge. WTH!! The food is sub par. Very saucey and salty

This place went downhill I ordered the Yakiniku ribeye bowl with udon which charged $1.50 but instead of udon they give me rice what a ripped off never coming back again

The Yoshinoya not accept my Uber order but Alhambra location did.

If I could leave a zeor star, I will. This location service is very bad. There are two Asian guys, I believe they are owner or co-owner, the older one is OK, but the younger one is very bad. I have been to this location many times before. Every time I just wanted use my American Express gold card, because I earn 4 points per dollar for restruant purchase. All other cashiers in this merchant took American Express credit card without any problem, but when the younger Asian guy as the cashier, he refused to take my American Express credit card every time, told me that they didn't take American Express at all. He is a bad liar. On 10/31/23, at 7:01pm, I placed a Uber Eats order with this location, at their parking lot, and I walked in to wait my order to be ready. I have waited at least 15 minutes, and nothing happened. The younger Asian guy told me there was no Uber Eats order in their system, and asked me why not just pay at the counter. I contacted Uber customer service right away, I have been told that Uber saw my order was placed but not accepted by this merchant. Uber suggested me cancelled this order, and I placed my Uber order again, but with Yoshinoya Alhambra location, 10 minutes later, my order was ready and I picked up. So based on my past experiences with this merchant, I strongly believe that this merchant intentionally did not accept my Uber order, and hoping me just pay them directly at the counter. Then this merchant may save some platform fees, just like they wanted to save American Express credit card processing fee by telling customer that they do not take American Express, but in fact, their system takes American Express payment but only this younger Asian guy. This merchant wasted my valuable time by not accept my Uber order, wasted my time to contact Uber customer service, wasted my time to place my Uber order with other Yoshinoya location. I will never go to this merchant again.

I don't care what anyone says, I love yoshinoya. I'm a huge fan of the thinly sliced beef. It's a little bland at first. But you gotta add the soy sauce, chili powder & the pickled red ginger to make it taste amazing. I can't comment too much on service since my family & I usually just do pick up when passing by LA. Meaning...my husband will go down & order pick up for us. Lol. My husband recently was near the area & did a pick up. He noticed that they were doing the covid precautions. Masks, gloves & a plastic shield between customers & the cash register. No dine in yet of course. Just pick up. He had a 2 hour drive to get to us & it was still so good.

With that said, there are always room for improvement but tonight, I'm giving a 5 star rating specifically because the Food was perfectly prepared, and one employee in particular impressed me. When we arrived around 10pm Friday night, half the restaurant was full. The available tables were slightly dirty, so looks like staff hadn't gotten to cleaning the tables yet. Seats were a bit greasy but tolerable. This is the area of improvement I would love to see. If employees are not readily available to clean the tables, just leave the wipes around so we can wipe down the tables ourselves. I'd be totally fine cleaning my table myself. While we were eating, I got the opportunity to observe several employees in action. One employee stood out. While most employees just speedily wipe down the tables and sweep the debris onto the floors. Edgar not only cleaned the tops of the tables, but also the back rests and seats, and even the tops of the trashcans!!! That level of attention to detail I greatly appreciated. I thought he was the shift manager given how much he was doing!! Not only that, he was the only employee I heard acknowledging and greeting guests. Edgar deserves all the praise! I come here maybe 2-3x a month, Food here has really been on point!! Fresh HOT crispy and juicy chicken tenders! My favorite Cane's location hands down!

I ordered The Box Combo (3 chicken fingers) with lemonade no ice. Chicken fingers were of good size and very tender & delicious as they usually are. Love their Cane's sauce! Toasted bread was soft and tasty. Crinkle fries were good, but they could have been a bit crispier. My Mom ate the coleslaw as I'm not a big fan of their coleslaw because it's too watery IMHO. So glad they are in close vicinity to the bowling alley. I'll be back. Thanks Raising Cane's!

I always ask for the vegetables on the side if I'm not eating it right away so the bread doesn't get soggy. Speaking of the bread, that's one of the reasons I keep coming back. They took my order and the whole thing took about 10 minutes. The man behind the counter was friendly and gave me a two minute heads up before it was done. He packed it quickly thereafter and I was back on my way home. I saw a few of the negative reviews so I didn't have hopes up. I only wanted to have fried chicken, any would do. So imagine my surprise when I tore into my chicken and found it DRIPPING with juices. Hear me out, I've had Korean fried chicken, Japanese fried chicken (not katsu), Chinese fried chicken and NONE were as juicy as this one. I bought the squid ink battered fried whole chicken. A banger. Juicy, crispy, the kind of bite that makes you briefly forget student loans. The batter? Chef's kiss. The wings? Eh -- they're okay. Edible. Not writing home about them, but not writing a complaint either. Solidly meh with a side of 'I've had worse.' Now, let's talk about the elephant in the room -- or rather, the absence of the elephant. Because when my combo arrived, the fries were MIA. Just a sandwich, two wings, and a can of Coke staring at me like a sad diet plate. I had to ask for them. Like a beggar. Like fries were some secret menu item you need a password for. The storekeeper's excuse? 'Fries are not on the order.' Sir. Ma'am. Human being. The description literally says fries. The picture on the menu shows fries. I'm holding a combo that includes a drink -- you think the Coke just volunteered to show up? Is this your first day, or are you testing my patience as a side hustle? To their credit -- they did bring the fries later. Warm, salty, forgiven. But only after I played detective with my own order. So is it good? Yeah, it's good. Is it drive-10-miles-out-of-your-way good? Absolutely not. Unless those 10 miles are downhill. With a tailwind. And someone else is paying for gas. And the grand finale? Almost $20 for this plate. For that price, the fries should've been delivered by a tiny bicycle and handed to me with a bow. Great sandwich. Decent fries (eventually). Mid wings. A cash register that clearly thinks I'm funding a small nation. And a 10-mile radius that I will not be expanding for this again. Monday, indeed.
