Free easy parking lot Drive thru My fam has eaten here for 30 years approx The foods not award winning but it's not nasty I recently ordered a cheeseburger for myself & a bacon cheeseburger for my mom & also chili cheese fries. My sis swears by their steak sandwich. They gave a lot of yellow chilis my last visit. Affordable. Yummy food, charred meat, lots of lettuce, cheesy fries, satisfying ! It does its job I'll return & recommend

They claim their open but don't put up a sign saying it's closed. No one answers the calls and is always crawling with homeless people there. It always smells like urine and feces. I wouldn't recommend coming to eat here.

I can easily say this is the most underwhelming burger I've had all year. Got a cheeseburger combo and was expecting some really flavorful burger and fries. The burger was tasteless, and the amount of lettuce that they put inside the burger... it's like eating a salad. The burger lettuce ratio is way off. Set your expectations low for this joint otherwise you'd be disappointed for sure. McDonald's literally eye view up the block and walkable distance so you know I had to go there instead to get some nuggets. That usually never disappoints! I like how the drive thru was easy to get through. The inside of the place looks like a run down old school diner. We got our food quick. Parking is available in their lot.

Parking: They have a small parking lot but there is plenty of street parking. They also have a drive through window! Ordered: We had the double cheeseburger with added pastrami and onion rings. 5/5 The burger was massive which made it a bit hard to eat neatly, but it was delicious! Would definitely order again 3/5 The onion rings were okay. I wish the batter didn't fall off the onions and that they were crispier. Service/Interior: The staff is very friendly and the place definitely feels like a mom/pop shop. The interior has been the same for 20 years which brought back tons of memories for my boyfriend who use to come all the time back in high school. Watch your step when heading to the seating area as there is a steep slope up! Conclusion: Would definitely come back for their burgers!

    Pollo Loco Plate $15

We live somewhat close by to Jim's and we pass by it everyday. We knew it was only a matter of time before we tried it. It seems like there's a steady flow of customers coming in and out everyday. That must be a testament to Jim's Burgers having good food. I always ask staff for recommendations when I go to different spots in order to order the best food. I was told that the Pollo Loco Plate and Cheeseburgers were popular. What we ordered: -Cheeseburger & Fries & Drink $14.6 -Pollo Loco Plate $15 The Pollo Loco Plate is 1/2 chicken marinated in our famous juice served over fries with a salad and a dinner roll. This is a healthy portion of food. It's nice having fries with the salad as usually you must pick one or the other. The chicken is grilled and has some nice spice and flavors to it. It was mostly cooked well. My only complaint is that it was a bit too burnt at times. I like how their grilled the dinner roll. The Cheeseburger Combo came with a 1/4 hamburger topped with melted cheese, fries and a medium drink. Believe it or not! This was a solid burger. I like how there was a nice crunch to the burger with the iceberg lettuce. The burger was cooked to perfection. The fries were perfectly seasoned as well and complimented the cheeseburger. This is a nice neighborhood spot to enjoy in Rosemead. I love signs and I'm real sucker for any kind of googie sign. Jim's sign is really cool! The service was very good. All the staff were very helpful and friendly. It's nice to go to a no frills place where tipping is not expected and you still get good service on top of a good meal.

    Breakfast Burrito

Fresh, quality breakfast burrito. The Jim's Burgers looks shabby, but it's got a drive thru and the people working there are very friendly. The breakfast burrito there is large and tasty. It's a standard American style breakfast burrito and it just needs a better salsa pairing (the mild tomato chunks don't cut it). It's a no frills, big cheap breakfast burrito.

Don't really come here for anything else except their pollo loco plate, or just for some classic seasoned fries. Old school and charming, but also can feel sketch at night LOL especially with my last visit dining in and we got shirtless dudes in a old Honda with no license plates blazing it outside and then a cop coming after my meal to question them is the peak experience of this joint anyways, their pollo loco plate is truly a go to craving. Chicken is charred and juicy. Their tangy salsa which is unique and one of a kind (I think they throw in pepperonichis or banana peppers in it), but it's ADDICTING. I personally will eat it like crack with my chicken. I would like the recipe one day for sureee Also, don't expect great service. The same dude's been working here tho since I've tried it in HS so it's an institution at this point.

Avocado cheeseburger with chili cheese fries
    Jennifer N.

I stopped by for a quick bite and ended up getting the avocado cheeseburger with chili cheese fries. We were looking for a burger with that mom and pop feel. The avocado burger was okay. Take a look at the picture and you'll see that the majority of it was veggies. It definitely overpowered the thin burger patty. However, I loved the chili cheese fries. They put cheese crumbs so it easily melted and the chili didn't taste too salty as I've noticed with other chilis. I like how they allow you to upgrade your fries from the combo to chili cheese fries. Parking was plentiful when we went and the cashier was friendly. I'd go again, but not sure I'd go out of my way for it.

This place exceeded my expectations for how dirty a place could be. Tables were visibly soiled. No restrooms for customers. Hopefully there's a sink for staff to wash their hands? Chili cheese fries looked more like gravy and not chili. Chili cheese burger bun was stale and hard. Fish taco was not bad but because the tables were so dirty, it left me questioning how fresh the ingredients are and how they prepared the food. Service was friendly. They initially ran out of limes for the fish taco but later found some. Prices were surprisingly high for how rundown the place is. To be honest I don't understand how they stay in business. Maybe the thing to get is onion rings and zucchini fries? I won't be able to tell you because we don't plan on returning. I'd rather get the taco truck or Yoshinoya which is in walking distance.

TWO WORDS - zucchini fries. Zucchini fries are deserving of five stars alone. I haven't eaten here in over a decade, but I recently had their zucchini fries and onion rings. It was just as amazing as I remembered. :') so worth the cheat meal.

    Chicken salad

They ripped me off filling up my salad half the plate. They also messed up on my order by not giving me my drink when I ordered a cheese burger special. I have always ordered a chicken salad and they have always filled up the plate. Not to mention the salad was almost $13. Ive been coming here for almost 30 years. It's overpriced wont be coming here anymore.

    Pastrami sandwich
    Sandy T.

I have been coming to Jim's for a while. Food quality hasn't changed, still super bomb. We come mainly for their pastrami sandwich which I think is better than the pastrami sandwich at The Hat. Prices have gone up though but that's how it is everywhere. We got 2 pastrami sandwiches with a horchata and the total came out to almost $35.

HIGHLY recommend the pollo loco special. Ask for well done fries to ensure you get the fresh batch and ask for the seasoning on the fries. Will not disappoint. Quick service if you call in the order ahead of time.

I was so excited to eat this again I forgot to take pictures both times I went back (back-to-back)…read more I want to update my review to 4.6/5! Genuinely so yummy!! Still not in love with the parking situation but I got the food for takeout both times. It's easier to park at the top during non peak hours (weekdays) or after 8 pm in the plaza. Th first time I went back, I got the combo for 2 (2 sandwiches, 2 chicken gizzard skewers, 6 wings, 2 sodas, and fries), a taiwanese sausage, and an extra chicken sandwich for 3 people. This was so much food and all of it was so good. I will say the Taiwanese sausage was a little small but it was sweet and decent. I probably won't get it again though because I expected it to be a little bigger for the price and it was a little hard. The chicken sandwiches were delicious and super big. The patties themselves were well seasoned (both spicy and non spicy) and huge (sticking out the bun)! The wings were also nice and crunchy. The skewers were also pretty yummy to eat as well. I will say I still don't love the fries as they aren't that seasoned. I even order extra cumin ($.75) and for them to add it to the fries, but they were still pretty plain. I wish they made shake fries or seasoned them better. The second time I went it was already 11 pm and I was happy to see they were opened so late. It's nice to see something opened after 9pm in the SGV. I ordered popcorn chicken, fries, and a sandwich that came out fairly quickly. The popcorn chicken was yummy per usually and my sibling enjoyed the sandwich. I also got regular fries with my free points and although they had pepper seasoning, it was still plain. The fries also weren't that crunchy so I won't order fries from here again. I think they're just not that good here but the chicken is still a go to. Overall, I usually have pleasant experiences at Macho burger and I'm slowly becoming a regular!

I've been here a grand total of twice…read more My first experience was problem free. Kudos. The second visit "could've been better" (which Yelp suggests that a 2 star rating would be appropriate to indicate): we placed quite a simple order - 2x Strawberry Sundaes. We took our number placard (#52) and sat at a table to await our order. After patiently waiting what I would estimate to be approximately 15-20 minutes and seeing quite a few other people served their orders, I did find it odd that it was taking so long to prepare 2x sundaes, so I located the young man who took our order and politely inquired about it. He looked a bit confused, exchanged some unintelligible words one of the guys on the grill, and then looked back at me and said it was not our turn yet (or something to that effect). Okay, fair enough. Maybe there were many orders ahead of us. I took it in good stride and went back to my table. After waiting approximately another 15-20 minutes and seeing that *Order #70* was being given their food, I realized that there was a problem and went back up to the ordering counter. I ended up talking with an old man (who I presume is the owner/manager). I explained the situation, and he inquired who had taken our order. I looked around, and the young man appeared to be nowhere in sight, but I did mention it was he who had had taken our order. The old man apologized and assured us he would take care of our order right away. Sure enough, I saw him beeline to the ice cream machine to start our sundaes, and he delivered them to us within 2-3 minutes. He apologized a second time, stating that it was the young man's 2nd day on the job, and that he otherwise would not have forgiven the transgression. In my experience, the resolution to the absurd wait could have been handled worse (in theory, the old man could certainly have told us to pound sand rather than apologizing and immediately attempting to correct the problem and quickly getting our desserts after being made aware of his employee's failure), but also could have been handled better (comping us for the trivial cost of the sundaes as a remedy/cure would have more effectively salved our irritation from the unnecessary waste of 30+ minutes of our life, and would have been in-line with remedial efforts I have experienced at other eateries, including similar fast food/burger joints). All that said, the sundaes were quite good. They would undoubtedly have tasted better had they been served in a time frame reasonable enough to not spoil the mood. I get that this is not a fine dining restaurant of any sort, but I still expect staff competence to be no worse than that of a McDonald's baseline level. I also get that humans make mistakes, but ... how did a simple order of 2x sundaes get botched this badly, particularly after a good faith attempt to bring the matter to staff's attention??

When I walked last night 15 minutes before close, no one was trying to rush me out and still asked if I wanted to eat there. This was delightful because usually people are completely poops about it. I wish I knew the young man's name who was the cashier he was so kind, outgoing, and just overall super bubbly and friendly. My had a small baby and I went in first to order and then went outside to trade with my husband so he could use the restroom as we waited for our to-go order. Without me sharing any thoughts with my husband the first thing he said when he got back is how supremely friendly the young man was and how he swears his attitude was contagious because he came out with a smile on his face. The food itself as mentioned was great. We took advantage on the specials for the double cheeseburger and the chicken sandwich. I know people will debate it, but I enjoyed the well seasoned and tasty breaded sandwich much more than In-n-out. Parking: Street parking was super easy on a Sunday afternoon, I was able to pull up right in front and park on the street. There is a Super A across the street and ample parking around for free. Ambiance & Food: This reminds me of an old school burger stand. Those were the best burgers and this one did not stop that trend. As I walked up, we were warmly greeted and given a quick rundown of what which burger. They did have specials (I will get to that in a second) which we were intrigued, but for the sake of perspective, I ordered the Goldburger and both regular fries and curly fries with a bottle coke. The Goldburger is naturally a double, but my gymrat protein brain added that extra patty. They use a 70% to 30% mixture for their burger which makes the burger oh so decadent. The picture I took doesn't do it justice. The moment you bite into the burger the combination of burger juice, aioli, burnt skirt, all come together in such a harmonious fashion. It was remarkable. Though fries are not one of my strong points, both fries were crispy and I haven't had any other experience with Curly fries other than Jack in the Box, but these were so much better. I went ahead and dipped the fries in some homemade Aioli and dang, what a combo! Back to those specials, the current special is CHILI, I was intrigued so they gave me a small container of it to try. Man, if I wasn't watching my caloric intake, that would have been the move. It was rich and chunky and not to soggy which some always comes. Give it a try as they said it will be around for sometime. Other than burgers, they do have hot dogs as well. So worth trying both next time. To be perfectly honest, this brought back so much nostalgia for me, I used to go to school in the area and this brought a lot of those memories back.
