This little gem is a breakfast livers must try! The food is real- buttermilk, eggs, cheese -no American slices or carton eggs here. The portions are more than fair, especially for the price and the taste is delicious. A great place for cheap but delicious American breakfast. They have a variety of options including chicken fried steak, migas, burgers, and omelets. They have a breakfast deal (3 items + a drink) for about $5, and it's definitely worth. They give a generous amount of food. I got the migas and hashbrowns and really enjoyed it. The hashbrowns were crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside- my only complaint is that some of mine were burnt. Ok now the place is not fancy yall! It's in a strip mall..... do not let that stop you from trying this place. I was super skeptical when I was referred here. It's a classic diner! You can normally walk right in and seat yourself AND your food will be out literally in minutes after you order. Great coffee and they keep checking to see if you need anything. We decided to try something other than the breakfast and that was great too. The catfish was delicious and the batter was light and crispy. It was served with seasoned fries and cole slaw. I am a chicken and waffle's kind of girl and I've had some good ones and this is added to the list of good ones. Less than $5? Are you serious? For $4.95, you get three breskfast items of your choice and a beverage. I pay that for a coffee at *bucks! One of the items is French toast which had a slight crisp on the outside, just perfect. They know how to poach eggs too...again, just right. I tacked on some grits because...well they're grits! If I had to base this review on the food alone I would probably give it 3 stars. Not bad, nothing all that surprising just...normal. I bumped it up to 4 stars because the service was good and got me in and out pretty quickly for this type of place. This was a great choice on a cold and rainy day for either a hearty late breakfast or a filling lunch. My wife got some breakfast items (eggs, hash browns, french toast and sausage) and she seemed to enjoy it. I got a patty melt and fries (looking back I should have just gotten the cheeseburger and fries). The patty melt was really good, but a cheeseburger would have been $2.50 cheaper and it would have probably been just as a good to me. This place is a little far for us, so we probably wouldn't go out of our way to come here again, but if we are near the area we'd certainly stop by again. read more

This was not my favorite breakfast place by a far mile. I came here with high expectations though based on reviews. I am never one to dis on my fellow Yelpers, MY experience though was NOT a 4 star one. In fact in some ways 2 stars might be generous. The low down: The Food: I ordered Bacon, Eggs, Hashbrowns and Pancakes. The bacon tasted as if it had been cooked by dropping in the deep fat fryer, which steals the flavor and makes for a weirdly greasy and hard to chew consistency. The Eggs were cooked perfectly to an over-easy state, which would have been fine except that I ordered them over-medium. The Hashbrowns were ok. The pancakes were just ok, but by far not near even the top 10 that I have had, which disappointed me given this places name. The Service: Ever go to a place where you feel like by walking in your are disturbing someone's conversations? That is EXACTLY how we felt here. The waitpersons were huddled in conversation in front of the kitchen the ENTIRE time we were there and if you needed anything it was like you were disturbing them. Additionally, them or someone else should have been bussing tables. My wife, who has the patience of a saint, literally made the statement to me that this place seemed like a place that had lost its way. Being our first visit here (and will be our ONLY visit here), we have no proof other than the previous Yelp reviews, that this place ever had their way. The Price: The price was reasonable, right around 15.00 for the two of us. The Overall: Perhaps we just caught them on an off day, but my only indication of that is that others seem to have enjoyed their experience much more than we did. Very minimalistic condiments, half and half, sweet & low, syrup runny, butter packets, etc. As a ate my meal and watched TV (it's on the wall), I couldn't quite pin point what my dish reminded me of... then it hit me, McDonalds! Yep i just ordered the flap jack plate + coffee for $5.53 plus tip. Those same fluffy flavorless pancakes and very yellow eggs and syrup that's there, but not there was good ole Mickey D's! Well, it's certainly cheap, so you can't expect too much. Think, CiCi's for the breakfast crowd. Don't expect subtlety like eggs over easy. You're going to get eggs over medium. We went at 130 in the afternoon and the bacon was over cooked and tasted like it'd been under the heat lamp awhile and the corned beef hash was okay. The hash browns were great! The stuffed French toast was okay....it would have been better without the strawberry syrup. The coffee was not very good, but they had real half/half and real butter. So, it's a mixed bag.
