Location isn't ideal but that makes the place kind of a rough gem in a gas station plaza. I say rough gem as they could use a bit of polish. Sadly, the day my family of 3 went. We had to wait about 5-10 minutes for 3 different tables to be cleared. After that we had to wait at least another 10 minutes for someone to grab our drink order. All in all, we were there about 25 minutes before we ordered our food. Within that time additional staff came to assist. We were there roughly at 9:30am on a Sunday. Food was good and great portions. No complaints there, if we try it again, hopefully we won't have the same wait considering tables were available. At the end of the day, it's an american grill breakfast. Good portions, decent service, and good prices. Couldn't ask for much more. read more

I would give it a 3.5 to be honest. I felt like the portion sizes were large and the prices were very affordable. The pancakes were okay, eggs were okay and the hash browns were toasted just right. The wait staff was very fast and the restaurant was very clean. read more

This will be my go-to place when I'm in this area! Small little cafe nestled in a strip center behind a gas station. It is table service but pay at the register. Quick service. Came for breakfast and it didn't disappoint. I wasn't here for cage-free eggs benedict and brioche french toast, and that's not what I got. I came for a quick and simple breakfast at a fair price, and they've got that nailed. Must be why this place is well-attended by the locals, and I don't mean the thrill-seeking foodies, I mean the police officers and contractors. I had two eggs over medium, which any other place would have called over-easy (maybe don't order over easy unless you are one of those thrill-seeking foodies). Two sausage patties were perfectly flavorful and grilled. One large fresh-baked biscuit with strawberry and grape jam, and two good-sized fluffy pancakes with butter and syrup. Add bottomless coffee (not bad either) and my total bill was $7. Yeah, try and beat that. read more

Discovered this place by accident a few weeks ago and we decided to give it a try today. Very unassuming from the outside as it's in a mini strip mall with a 7-11 and a Subway. Don't let the exterior fool you. Inside is nice and bright (and clean!) to begin with. An extremely friendly, warm and fun staff await you. The prices are incredibly good and the menu is a good size. Lots of choices. We both ordered the Hot Pancake Platter. Comes with 2 pancakes, 2 eggs cooked in any way you'd like, bacon, 2 sausage patties AND ham. I wasn't sure what size to expect but I was greatly surprised when they were brought out. Considering the price ($6.95) I was expecting a small portion of each. I was wrong. This is what you'd call a Farmer's Breakfast. Generous portions all around. And the pancakes were a nice size as well. Food was cooked perfectly and wasn't greasy like in so many places. And incredibly tasty. Do they serve micro greens or items that you've never heard of that are trendy? Heck no! This is good, old fashioned breakfast fare! Highly recommend and we will be back again for breakfast and also to try their lunch menu! read more

Alright Yelpers! Again? I find myself reviewing the reviewers and not the restaurant! This is NOT a 5 Star or even a 4 star restaurant! Not even close! Barely a 3 star - meaning average. Price is not a factor in reviewing whether a restaurant is good or not. Just a plus when everything else is good. Nothing here that couldn't be made better at home. I mean, orange juice in the plastic bottle? A pancake house with cheap ass artificial syrup? Place is clean, good service, and inexpensive. So what? Nothing even McDonald's can't do better. Yelpers - you let us down again! Ridiculous lousy ratings for a so-so place. read more

The definition of hole in the wall. It's not fancy, it's located beside a gas station. The food though, knocks this place out of the ball park. I especially like to come here with my family for an early morning breakfast before we all head off to school and work. For 5 bucks you've got yourself eggs, bacon, toast, hash browns and coffee. Ordered the Chorizo Scramble: eggs, chorizo, onions, bell peppers and crispy potatoes mixed together and served with fresh warm tortillas and salsa. Damn that was delicious. Also ordered a side of pancakes: I enjoyed them too. Staff are friendly and attentive. read more

Totally worth the price! It looks a little sketchy on the outside because it's right next to a gas station but you shouldn't let that stop you! I ordered the chicken and waffles and my friend ordered the build your own combo of French toast, pancakes, hash-browns, and fruit. Total price plus tip came out to be only $15 for both of us! This place was right across the George Bush tollway from my hotel. Don't be fooled by the location next door to 7-Eleven. Very good quality breakfast cooked to order at insanely low prices. Choose 3 items and a drink for $4.95. I had eggs, bacon and pancakes for 4.95. Delicious!! Good selection on menu including chicken and waffles, chicken fried steak and eggs, chorizo and eggs, etc. Try it, you won't be disappointed. read more

Want to get simple American breakfast without going to Ihop or Denny's? Here is the place for it. Chicken fried steak is a must. It comes with hash browns, eggs and pancakes. Want Tex-Mex breakfast? Decided to try this place at random. I did have to go get my own menu around 5 minutes after I sat down at my table because the servers hadn't noticed me at all. But they were sweet and quick once I came up and asked for a menu. Since I wasn't in a rush, I did not mind that I didn't immediately get acknowledged. But with how impatient most people are now, if you do have a problem with slow service, don't come here. Again, I really don't mind. I just came here to try a new place. I got the lumberjack breakfast with two eggs, sausage, ham, bacon, hash browns, and pancakes. It was great! The hash browns were really great and there was A LOT of food for the low price. Definitely worth the 5 stars! I haven't had the perfect hash brown since 1995 at a Waffle House in Atlanta, GA. I have now found a new favorite place for breakfast! Good food and low prices. Small. Tables close together. Good service. Best price and fastest service in the area. But a bit cramped Well, sadly I must update my review. I meet friends there once a week. Over the last few months there has been a noticeable decline in quality, service, and customer count. The wait staff appear to be bothered by questions, requests, or special orders such as "soft scrambled" or "well done". The quality of the food has diminished. Scrambled eggs are scalded, and have a overdone taste. The coffee is acidic. The wait staff does not set your plate onto the table. They stand there with an arm outstretched with the plate aimed at your face. Any order sent back, in the most respectful way seems to be an offense to the waitress, and then complaining can be heard from the cook. No wonder there are only 6-7 of us there during peak breakfast hours. We are now having our weekly breakfast meeting at a nearby Whataburger. They seem to value good food, cooked right, with great customer service at Whataburger. read more

What a great diner find in Richardson! And maybe this is just me having lived in Uptown too long, but their prices though!! $4.99 for Design Your Own Breakfast? Count this gal in. They have a great assortment of breakfast options and you get 3 of them. I did bacon (you get 3 pieces), hash browns, and biscuit with cream gravy on the side, portion sizes were great and I left full and satisfied. Will definitely be coming back here again to try some of their other menu items. read more

What can I say about hot pancakes, this is my quick and easy go to. I'm here so often that the staff even knows my name. The three item breakfast for 495 is awesome nicely priced for fresh food. The pancakes are absolutely amazing. Often sub my pancakes with blueberries it gives them a nice fresh taste to the complete a beautiful breakfast. read more

My dad is a frequent customer at this place and I can see why! The prices are incredible and the employees make you feel like it's home. On a Monday morning, there was an ample amount of people. Hot Pancakes was great! I came in with a coworker to get a quick breakfast before work and was not disappointed. We walked in, ordered quickly and were served within 5 min. For breakfast they have a deal for 3 items and a drink for $4.50. I got 2 eggs, hash browns and 2 pancakes which were good but nothing special for a diner style breakfast. This is one of those restaurants you wish could remain a little secret because as the word continues to spread about its popularity you KNOW that the days of walking in and grabbing a quick bite are soon to be ancient history. There's not a negative thing I could say about this place. Quickly seated for Monday morning brunch around 11:00 am. The coffee was hot and fresh, the server was prompt and courteous, and the dining room was clean and tidy. I ordered the chicken fried steak with cream gravy that was served with 2 eggs any style (over medium for me), 2 pancakes, and hash browns. I wanted to substitute grits for the hash browns, but the menu clearly states that substitutions are extra. So I ordered a side of grits. The chicken fried steak was one of the best I've had in years... YEARS people. The eggs were prepared just as I requested and the grits were the bomb (I added a little butter, a dash of salt, and some pepper). The kids devoured their chocolate chip pancakes and a side of pan sausage. My girlfriend could only eat 1/2 of her cheeseburger (which looked incredible). I couldn't finish my breakfast as the portion size of the chicken fried steak was more than plenty so I gave the kids my pancakes. We were completely satisfied when we paid the bill .... $22 and some change for 4 plates! It seemed like I had stepped back in time to another generation when good food didn't always mean $40-$50 tabs. I'll be making this place a regular stop while in North Dallas. read more

Man was I surprised. From the outside it doesn't look like it's going to be as good as it is. I ordered the bacon cheese burger with fries. It WAS GOOOOOOD. Highly recommend mayo and mustard. I dislike both even you but with this burger it enhanced the flavor. The only thing that I wasn't a fan of was the fries but even then, they weren't bad. They just weren't my style of fries. I like thinner and softer fries. These fries were normal diner style fries so I can't hold that against them. Overall a great meal with friendly staff. read more

So I dragged my friend here and she wasn't too impressed at first. But we walked in and it was clean. The bathrooms are clean and the unsweetened tea wasn't bitter, which means they keep their tea urns clean. I had pancakes, French toast and sausage (don't judge me lol) it it was great. Sausage was a little salty for my taste but still yummy. Did I mention it was $4.95 and my tea was free?! Definitely will be back! Great service too! read more

Tonight I went and took my boyfriend for the first time and the girl behind the counter had the worst attitude ever. When asking questions about the menu she was very dry in her reply as if we were bothering her. There was a group that was already seated prior to us coming in. We had about 6 groups come in after and 3 others stayed as we did too. We ordered our food despite the attitude and sat down. Seating is tight but we didn't mind. We paid 3 something for our tea. While filling it up it ran out. When asked if there was more a snarky remark was no I'm not making anymore and proceeded to try and charge 3.60 something for one of the juices to refill. When asked for bbq it was $.50 and ranch was $1.25 for a 2oz cup. The attitude from the lady that is the face when we walk in wasn't needed and I don't think no matter how good the food was that I will be returning nor recommending anymore

We stopped in and were warmly greeted right away, honestly the service here was outstanding. We ordered and found a spot to site. There are a good amount of tables here despite the space being smaller. The burgers came out quickly and looked great! The burgers are incredibly tasty and well prepared with plenty of veggies. The Fries were also hot, fresh, and well seasoned. It was a great experience overall and I look forward to coming back.

Hunt, the Royale with Cheese, and the cheese fries (No Surprise). I had the Blue Goat (no onions). It was good overall, though I wish the blue cheese flavor was a bit stronger. My husband got the H.L. Hunt and really enjoyed the candied bacon. Our son had the Royale with Cheese and it filled him up so much that he didn't even touch fries--and he loves fries, so that says a lot. Speaking of fries, the order was HUGE--easily enough for 5-6 people. If we come back, I'd definitely dig into those first while the cheese is still warm and gooey. By the time we got to them after our burgers, everything had kind of stuck together. Overall, a fun, casual spot with solid burgers and massive portions--just plan for a slower-paced experience.
