The absolute worst "Korean BBQ" I've ever had. I frequently eat Korean BBQ in Korea Town in LA, and if this place was there, no one would ever take it seriously as a KBBQ spot. I can't speak to the Hot Pots they serve here, but if you're looking for KBBQ this isn't it. The servers come by only every 15 mins, and our server couldn't remember to bring our drinks to save his life. They're supposed to have proper ventilation in places like this, and I didn't see one vent. It was overly smoky and hot and disgusting. As far as the meat goes, they are mere slabs that are mostly fat--stuff you might feed a stray dog with that no one wanted to eat. We ordered 6 meats to start and about 2/3rds of it was inedible. They all taste the exact same. Most KBBQ spots have servers coming around to help you keep up with cooking as an accommodation. Here you are lucky to even lock eyes with another server, let alone your own. After 20 mins of waiting for our server, we decided it wasn't even worth asking for more food-as it was gross to begin with-and left. Korean BBQ and Hot Pot/Ramen was what my daughter really wanted and she asked everyday for a month, so when she got honor roll it was officially necessary. This location is newer and was beautiful and big on the inside. We were greeted immediately and seated at booth near the salad bar. Our server was really nice and answered our many questions with a smile. My hubs and I did just the BBQ and my daughter did the combo of ramen and BBQ. I ordered the beef and chicken bulgolgi, the garlic shrimp and the steak. My favorite was the shrimp although it all was good. My hubs had the lamb, steak, pork belly (basically bacon), chicken and shrimp. Our server also brought out a plate of onions and straw mushrooms, which were awesome off the grill. My daughter had the beef tongue! Too adventurous for me! She said it was good. They had all kinds of sauces and seasonings on the bar, too. My friend and I went there yesterday and the guys that delivered food to our table made some very questionable choices. We ordered tofu, one piece fell into the hand of the person delivering the food, he then placed it back on my friends plate with food she was getting ready to eat after he put his hands all over it. Then a different person came to drop off meat on our table, came back to pick up the meat and attempt to put it on someone else's table. At this point, If this is what they are doing in front of clients, I can only imagine what they do when we can't see them. Disgusted. read more

They take reservations to have you come in at your reservation time and tell you with no care or remorse that you'll still wait 45 min to an hour. So not only did we drive 30 minutes to get there, we would've had to wait an hour to eat, pretty poor business practices in my opinion. Just tried this place for the first time last weekend and had a nice experience. The menu has options for everyone's needs ie vegetarians like my wife. It was fun to add additional sauces and spices into the hotpot from the sauce bar. When it comes to the grill you really need to use your best judgment to make sure your meat and seafood are fully cooked so you don't get sick. As I had seen others reviewers say they got sick which is totally on them for not fully cooking everything. Stopped by to see what it was about, ended up staying for lunch and it was amazing. My wife had the hot pot with all kinds of meat/veggies and I had the barbecue with meat and veggies and it all unlimited. They also have a sauce bar as well as a salad bar (unlimited) I left satisfied and stuffed. It was fun cooking my own food and I highly recommend this for a couple or family. We often go to Virginia Beach location. Even they are the same owner but we like the Virginia Beach location better. The portion of an order is small. For example, an order of green lettuce to eat with BBQ is only 2 leaves. We have to place 2 more orders of it. Same thing with bean curds, mushrooms, watercress to eat with hot pot. The hot pot broth is more flavored than in VB place. Next time, we will go back to the VB location. read more

Hot pot in Chesapeake finally! Came here with a large group and the waitstaff was very accommodating. The food is great, and you are constantly getting checked on so you can order more. The hot pot was good. Plenty of authentic ingredients and broths to choose from. Now I have lived in Korea. The Korean BBQ was not even remotely close to what Korean BBQ is. Bulgogi is one of the simplest marinades....taste was way off. The cuts were questionable as to what you were actually getting. The meats were overly fatty and gristly. Sauces were mix yourself (good luck with that). I personally didn't it was worth the money but if your want to indulge in a lot of low quality meat and soup, this is your place. read more

Took my family here as a treat. Service was friendly and good. As it was our first time we had to learn how to order and cook the hot pot and Korean bbq but we figured it out. The food mostly doesn't have much flavoring seasoning so it is flavored by whatever broth (hot pot) or sauce (Korean bbq) you chose. They have recipes posted to create most of the sauces, so you mix like 6 ingredients from their sauce bar to create your sauce(s). Cooking goes fast so doing hotpot and Korean bbq simultaneously keeps you quite busy! After we got the hang of it we enjoyed (and stuffed) ourselves. We enjoyed the food. The wait can be quite long. The system for ordering is confusing if it is your first time. You either choose a "hotpot" (also known as broth), Korean BBQ, or both. ($35 all you can eat and NO SHARING). The broth comes with meats and vegetables. The Korean comes with better meats and only rice. Word of warning: if you put the wrong vegetables in your broth.....your broth is ruined. The goal of the whole ordeal is to cook your food in the broth or grill it on the burner. That's right! You okay $35 for subpar food, cook it your self, and smell like it for ever. If it's your thing, great....it's not mine. I would recommend a Japanese Steak house, Ramen Jonny, or good ole cooking food at your house. Save your money. On a good note, the customer service was helpful and frequented to see if we needed more food or burner change outs. read more

Really great experience! Happy to have a K-BBQ and Hot Pot in Chesapeake. We went into the location requesting a table for 5 and were told the wait would be 20 minutes. After sitting for 40 minutes and watching groups larger and smaller walking in, we asked how long.
