SO AMAZING! Must try! The ambience is beautiful and it's very spacious! I wanted a photoshoot inside the restaurant! The service was great, we rented a room out for about 30 people and we were attended to quickly and efficiently. The hot pot and kbbq was very good!

This was our first time here and not sure if we'll be back. It was expensive for what it is, diy soup. I think if you could take your leftovers, it would be worth it. They bring out so much that it goes to waste.

I took my sister here for lunch to get a hearty meal in before she headed out to military boot camp the next day. I had previously tried the location in Newport News and had a positive experience. Unfortunately, this location did not provide a good experience. We quickly realized that the grill only heated up to 360 degrees and that the meat was cooking extremely slowly. I used to live in Korea and went to BBQ often. The meat NEVER cooked slow in Korea. At Hotpot 757, it took around 30 minutes to cook a single type of meat that should've cooked in minutes as it's thin cut. The waiter tried to explain to me that the they offer the hotpot because the grill cooks so slow. To make matters worse, we were harassed by two women who kept coming around and insisting that we change the grill top repeatedly to slow down the cooking process. In Korea, they don't change the grill top during your service. I ended up pouring my hotpot into my sister's pot so that we could actually cook some meat on the convection top to speed things up. I would not recommend coming here as the staff is obviously more focused on saving money by slowing the cooking on the all you can eat bbq than on having a positive customer experience. Save yourself some trouble and find somewhere else to eat.

I have been a loyal customer of this restaurant for over two years, bringing my family here more than 20 times, but after my most recent experience, I am absolutely heartbroken and outraged by how we were treated. While enjoying a meal with my sister and three nephews, my 2-year-old nephew was sitting next to my sister when her keys fell to the ground. As he tried to pick them up, we quickly noticed that he was soaked with bleach his hands and legs were covered in it, and there were visible puddles of bleach on the floor where he had walked. We realized the he ingested the chemicals. My immediate concern was for my nephew's safety. We rushed to clean him up, give him water, and assess the situation. When we spoke to the manager about the hazardous situation, his response was defensive and deeply troubling. Rather than showing any empathy or concern for the child who had just been exposed to bleach, he immediately became confrontational. He dismissed our concerns and said, "We're not used to babies walking around," as if that was somehow an explanation for why there were hazardous chemicals left on the floor. His response was cold and inconsiderate; he told my sister to just take the baby to the bathroom to clean him up and refused to take any responsibility for the bleach being on the floor. He even went so far as to assume we were trying to get a free meal, which could not have been further from our intent. (We paid for our meals and gave our server a large tip) We were simply trying to ensure our baby was okay and that this incident was addressed. Our server, thankfully, was kind and tried to help, but the manager's attitude was dismissive. He walked away without any real apology or solution, just saying, "Have a good day," which was completely unacceptable. By the time we left, my nephew began vomiting in the car in the parking lot, and we were forced to contact poison control and the police to ensure his safety. We were terrified and shaken by the entire ordeal, and while we are grateful that he is okay, we are still deeply concerned about how this situation was handled. The manager's complete lack of accountability and compassion for a child who had just been exposed to a dangerous substance was appalling. To be treated with such indifference after being loyal customers for so long is simply unforgivable. I am devastated that a restaurant I've trusted for so long would treat my family with such disregard, especially when it comes to the safety and well-being of a child. I can only hope they take this seriously and ensure that no other family has to endure such a terrifying experience. Sad to say, but we will never be returning!

Great price for the hotpot, we got the hotpot and BBQ combo only $5 extra, I would highly recommend having the lunch menu plus BBQ. Which is cheaper than dinner price with less meat for hotpot but get a lot of meat from BBQ menu. I think their lunch is the best deal, have some buffet style appetizers and fruits, also free icecream. The lunch menu hotpot doenst come with some premium meat. But if you are the BBQ you will get a lot of meat. All the meat seems pretty fresh. The service is great, very fast and all the portion are small so you don't over order and waste the food. But you can order more if you like the dish you ordered

I ended up here because of the social media hype of the hot pot experience. For me, this was not it. We had never been here before so we were completely confused on how this worked and how you ordered. We asked the waitress and was still a little confused. But anyway... we figured it out and it was still just blah... the meat actually tasted a little funny and i wasn't feeling it. We went for lunch but their menu selection seemed to look like it offered a better variety of items. It was an experience and it was one and done for me. It just wasn't that good.

I decided to check out Hotpot 757 with some friends when I recently visited the Hampton roads area. I was shopping with some friends if we wanted to try something new. One of my friends suggested we try a Korean barbecue place. We searched the local area and found Hot Pot 757. I discovered that you can set a reservation using Yelp. To avoid the dinner rush, we decided to eat around 4 PM. When we got to the location, we were greeted by some very friendly hostesses. The lobby of the place was decorated with Christmas trees and various Asian decor. The time we went wasn't too busy so we were able to be seated almost immediately. This was our first time ever trying Korean barbecue so we were a little lost. The waitress came by to take our drink orders, but she was also incredibly patient and explained the entire process to us. This location offered hot pots as well as Korean barbecue options. She further explained that you could do a combination of hot pot and Korean barbecue. All you can eat. My friends and I decided to go towards the Korean barbecue route, since we did not want to get too full. The meat options were plentiful and there was lots to choose from. They had different beef, pork, chicken, and seafood options. They also had options for different vegetables that they could bring for you to prepare on the grill. The waitress took our order and told us to explore the sauce bar, which was a place where you can get a combination of various sauces from sweet and spicy to traditional Asian to steak sauce, and everything in between. There was a recipe board in the middle of the sauce that allows you to be able to mix and match different types of seasonings for you to create a dish that suited your pallet most efficiently. When they started bringing out the meat, everything came out raw and ready to hit the grill. We the waitress gave us the suggestion that we not crowd the grill because it would take a very long time for anything to cook properly. So we cooked in phases. It was fun to see how you could take your favorite dish and cook it on the grill. I would say make sure that you are patient in this process because if you're hungry, it seems to take a while for the food to be finished but that was just our stomach talking. As we sat in the location, it filled up with happy guests coming in and out families enjoying the food and the drinks. I would recommend taking time to check out hot pot 757 with your friends and family.

HIGHLY RECOMMEND - The food here is really what you make it. You order individual items from the menu which you want to eat (ie. calamari, black mussels, and rice). You have the option to go to the sauce bar to create your own sauce and pick up some side options. By the time you come back to your seat, what you have ordered will be sitting on the table for you. the you cook it up however you feel. Also you are able to get ass much of what you want from the menu for one flat price. Everyone sitting at a table together must get the same dining option (ie. BBQ, HOTPOT, or both). To keep flow of the restaurant you are given a 2 hours time slot to chow down. The feel of the restaurant is very inviting. All of the staff are very helpful and kind. They are happy to explain how everything works.

When you come to hot pot for the first time, there is a bit of a learning curve. But after your first time, you should know what you like, and how to order. There are hot pots, which is basically make your own pho, then there's barbecue that you grill yourself right at your table. Which ever you order, it's all you can eat, and they'll bring you whatever you want to make in your hot pot or on the grill. All of the ingredients are super fresh, and they have a very wide variety. I found all of the seafood to be good, but I found all of the beef to be gristly and chewy. I wouldn't get the beef again, but I would definitely get any seafood and chicken. I don't think we tried any pork other than the pork dumplings, which were good. The meats were seasoned and marinated exceptionally well. Lots and lots of great, delicious flavor. The bar is basically all sauces and a few fruits. I don't think I would ever come here again for the hot pot (because of the price), but I would definitely come again for the barbecue now that I know what I'm doing. That is, when I feel like cooking myself. Very much a novelty kind of experience that you bring friends from out of town to.

Pretty large hot pot AND grill restaurant - interesting grill design and use of small hot pot for the classic experience. Selection of side dishes seemed a bit small, but the menu had a good variety of meat and sides to pick from as well. The portions are pretty small, but I suppose that is more to prevent food waste. Order generously if you know you have room in your stomach. Decent amount of parking, and the service was okay. Definitely a reliable pick whether you're craving hot pot, KBBQ, or both.

Decided to finally check out 757 hot pot to see what all the hype was about. Pulling into the parking lot I noticed broken glass everywhere. Nearly every space had broken glass in it. Just be careful when parking. We were quoted a 30 minute wait as we showed up in the middle of the dinner rush but it went by pretty fast. I've never done hot pot before and would've loved a little tutorial on best tips and tricks but our waiter was in a hurry. He came to the table and starting pressing us to order. We randomly choose a few things to start with and he quickly jotted off to get our initial order placed. They have a cold bar with salads, herbs, fruits and sauces. You can add whatever items from the cold bar you want to enhance your bbq and/ or hot pot experience. The staff does a great job at keeping the cold bar stocked and cleaned. The only utensil we were given to eat with was the hot pot ladle. We tried asking for a spoon and our waiter was like nope we don't have those. After looking at other tables we saw they had chop sticks and were finally able to get a few sets of those from our waiter. Overall I liked hot pot but I would caution hot pot newbies to do a little research on your own before coming here because they aren't going to go out of there way to get you up to speed on things.

This is really a 2.5 star place. Here's why: Food quality is meh...the best items were the veggies and the bonchon (sides from the bar). My husband likens it to his time in the military where they would have packaging marked 'grade D but edible.' The meat was sinewy and tough and to be honest, flavorless. The broths (Thai Tom Yum and sichuan broth) were okay. The Tom yum had a weird chemical flavor. We did one round of meats and veg and were done. It was a waste of money for us. The cucumbers and kimchi were good, seaweed salad good and the different options for sauces was nice. Our server was attentive and super friendly. For us it's a once and done...we did it, experienced it and won't be back. It is probably a great place for people who want to stuff themselves, going for volume vs quality. It's not for me but I appreciate the experience.

This place is consistent and clean, the staff is friendly, and the food is dangerously good. As many have said, you have to know what you're doing in order to make the most of this experience, and it IS an experience. You'll choose a soup base (all of them are good) which the waiters will bring and heat on your table. Then you'll hit the buffet and grab anything you want to add to your soup (they have all sorts of noodles, veggies, seafood and more). You'll also grab any meats you want to cook on your table's little grill. What I especially love is that the KBBQ and hot pot are all one flat rate, you don't have to order anything but your soup base and any drinks. I recommend getting a big plate for all of your soup add ons, and a small plate for your raw meats. They'll give you tongs to cook the meat and a giant pair of scissors to cut everything (wait to cut the meat until it's cooked). Apologies for the novel above, but maybe it will help someone. Yes it can be overwhelming if you're not used to the cuisine, but it is WORTH trying that something new. Qpot also has a full Chinese buffet, great for kids who are scared of the grill and the soup. We are truly in love with this restaurant. Thanks for always showing us a good time!

In the order instructions, I asked for the Chinese mustard and duck sauce for the eggrolls, and that was not included in the order. The wonton soup was greasy. The hot spicy pork ribs were tasty and tender. I would only wonder why it has to have so much of the seasoning spices on them to bury it. We were disappointed with the brisket dish. Walking in, it was completely empty, no customers. By the time I left, several tables were sat and they had a steady stream of carry-out/delivery pickups. The service was very spotty, as they only had two people working the dining room and so many people went without someone checking them in, I waited about 15 mins for my check and those delivery drivers formed a line waiting for their pickups. I tried their spicy cucumber salad and their three pepper beef, but I sub'd out the beef for chicken instead. The cucumbers were decent, they had a nice spice to them and the vegetable itself was fresh. The three pepper chicken came out on a sizzling platter (a fajita platter with aluminum foil on it) and looked pretty good. My first few bites had the great flavor of wok hei, which I love! But I quickly noticed there was no other flavor other than some sort of pickled pepper flavor, which is very odd in Chinese food. The chicken texture was great, but the entire dish was swimming in vegetal oil, it wasn't dry spiced and wok'd. Overall, this visit was only slightly better than the first, only because they were open this time. But I most definitely wouldn't return. I absolutely love and seek out authentic Chinese foods (Szechuan, Hunan, etc) when I travel and those this place offers many authentic style dishes, they seem a little too "Americanized."

Nothing can replace pure, authentic flavor. Well, Fat Dragon in Virginia absolutely blew me away. From the second we walked in, the experience was seamless. We had a party of eight with no reservation, and they sat us immediately. The ambiance was great, the portions were incredibly generous, and the staff was friendly, attentive, and completely on top of their game. Drinks arrived fast, and the entire meal flowed beautifully without a single hitch. But let's get to the real highlight of the night: the Tsingtao beer-battered mushrooms. Oh my goodness, they were out of this world! Perfectly fried and crispy on the outside, incredibly juicy on the inside, and dusted with a spicy Sichuan cloud that made them completely irresistible. They were so good that even my father--who isn't a mushroom lover at all--couldn't stop eating them! For my main course, I had the Fei Lone steak, and it was absolutely sublime. Tender, perfectly prepared, and packed with flavor. If you appreciate amazing service, a great vibe, and food that actually delivers on taste, do yourself a favor and check out Fat Dragon. I'll definitely be thinking about those mushrooms for a long time!

The entryway is interesting and provides some shelter from the rain, allowing you to manage your umbrella before entering. We were seated within seconds, and our server, Liza, came by very promptly with some water for our table. I felt slightly anxious at first, being that we were in a cozy two-top amongst the fray, but it subsided quickly because everyone was respectful and reasonably quiet. We ordered the veggie spring rolls to start, and I had the Chinatown Ramen, and my partner had the Chicken Fried Noodles. The appetizer was hot, savory, and spicy with the duck sauce and hot mustard mixture. If you like milder sauce, do not mix it. The entrees came out within five or so minutes of the appetizers, which seemed quick for a busy night. The ramen was spicy, hot, and filling. I was only able to finish about half. We will be enjoying those leftovers tonight. My partner said that her noodles and chicken were well-seasoned and delicious, too. Looking around the restaurant, it is clear that they support the local LGBTQ+ community, and it is even labeled as a Safe Space on the beautifully manicured, makeshift chalkboard/menu/posting board. The clientele and staff alike seemed warm and kind, based solely on limited interactions and observation on my part. If you are looking for a traditional American-Chinese food restaurant (think buffet-style items), this is likely not the place for you. There were no mishaps or snafus with our orders. Liza performed her duties well, and I can surely recommend this restaurant to anyone who doesn't mind a mix of Japanese and Chinese cuisine.

The restaurant serves Chinese food but I think it is an American version of Chinese food. It was a busy evening on that Friday, 20 June 2025. DECOR - a beautiful restaurant with white and red covered shaded lamps plus a big red dragon hanging on the ceiling. FOOD -- I ordered the Guandong Fried Rice ($10.50) which comes with peas, carrots, and egg. I added shrimp ($5.50) as my protein. A glass of water was also brought out for me. My friend ordered the basil chicken ($18.50) with a Maine Root Beer drink ($4.50). She loved her order. I enjoyed the Guandong Fried Rice with added shrimp. It wasn't overly rich in flavour. The mixture of the peas, carrots, and egg was a simple yet appetizing combination. There was a lot of food on my plate and I may have taken a to-go box home because I remember not being able to finish my dinner. Parking is street parking. If I ever visit Richmond, VA again, then I will definitely come back to Beijing on Grove. **** GOAL of 250 reviews in 2026 - 123/250 total reviews in 2026 - 964 total Yelp reviews - Reviewed on 7 June 2026

Updating my review!…read more I went back with my same friends and we've gone back a few times since our bad experience the first time! We love going random week nights because they tend to have some pretty good deals. we usually like sitting at a table but it's also super nice sitting at the bar! our past few times we have gone, we've had fantastic servers! Highly recommend. We usually get the cheese and chocolate. We like to get the Wisconsin cheese I think it's called and the turtle chocolate! so good!!

We ended up ordering the 4 course big night out meal which consisted of a salad, cheese fondue, a large shared entree with a broth to cook it in and chocolate fondue all served with multiple dippers. We went the weekend before Valentines day weekend which resulted in a busy evening. Our cheese fondue was a bit cold and separated upon arrival but we were able to heat it up more at our table. Our wait between courses was very long with us waiting 40 minutes between our cheese fondue and entree with no one checking on us or communicating. I did speak to a manager who spoke with our server and once we received our entree the wait time did decrease for our desert which was nice but I wish there was more communication about what was occurring as my partner and I genuinely thought that our servers shift may have ended and we were going to receive a new server due to the wait time and then having a food runner deliver us the broth with no food for another 10 minutes. For our desert we decided on the smores chocolate fondue which consists of chocolate fondue topped with graham crackers and flambèed. The lighter used left a smoky lighter fluid taste at the end of our fondue. So I woupd recommend skipping the flames on it but overall the food was good and the variety was very nice. The food at the melting pot is delicious and I do think they offer a great value per person in regards to food and experience of fondue. I would keep in mind that even the week before a holiday appears to be busy and that could affect service and impact your experience, with the cost of the melting pot I would have attended on a weekday to ensure I was able to enjoy it completely. It may be best to attend on a less busy day to have a full experience.
