No kids allowed. If you have them, leave them elsewhere, because the bartender is a jerk and will immediately single you out. My companion and I were sharing an elevator with a couple and their children. You have to take the elevator to get to this bar as it's a rooftop bar. We got out first and the bartender immediately scolded us over "our children." When I point blank told them that they weren't ours, he didn't even apologize and just kept giving dirty looks to the couple as if throwing them out. Yes, I get this isn't a place for kids, but there was no need to be so rude. To put it bluntly, this soured the rest of my time there. I would've left immediately and told the bartender that he lacked any social graces, but my companion insisted on seeing the view. He ordered a beer, we went outside, and it was cramped and noisy, and I just had resting you-know-what face. I would never in a million years recommend this place. I wish I had gotten the name of the jerk to complain to his manager, but oh well. If you see a guy with a buzz cut who is short with no facial hair, that's your jerk. Oh, and a suggestion to management - if you don't want kids coming up, put a sign in the front with big block lettering. I love lounges and especially ones on a rooftop. This was a cute, cozy spot. Keep in mind the elevator doesn't go all the way to the rooftop and you have to walk up a couple of flights of stairs. Hot Tin is a swanky rooftop bar located inside the Ponchartrain hotel and has roaring 20's vibes. It's a great place to go to just hang out and relax. The best part is getting one of the best views of the New Orleans skyline! Or if you'd rather hang out on the inside, it's really nice and cozy on the inside too.
