Horrible customer service. Management is rude. I asked if they price match to their website and the girl told me that she would go check with the manager. She came back and said that they do. I waited in line, went to a different girl checking people out and when I told her about the price match the girl said I don't want to do math and went and got the manager and then the manager said they don't price match. SLOWWWWWWWWW!!! This Hot Topic is so slow. The cashiers take forever with all customers. They are trying to push sales. I know that comes from management, but they have the customer at the register and then tell them "if you spend $5 more you will get this (whatever it is)... " then the customer leaves and starts shopping around the store to spend that much more. They don't take more customers. A lot of the time these are kids. They don't understand what you're saying. These one kids kept thinking she was telling them to pick a shirt for free. Huge line is forming and they are still waiting for these customers to come back to the register. It's ridiculous. Thank goodness one kid who was waiting for her friends to come back told the cashier to take the next person in line while she waited. Which was us. This is what they should do all of the time. When I got up there, of course she was trying to do the same thing to me. She asked, I automatically said no. She kept asking. I kept saying no. She was like, if you spend this you can get a $15 coupon or some amount. I said, no. Wouldn't you know it, once I paid and was leaving she said "oh I forgot to give you this", same coupon and I didn't spend anything extra. It's slow, this store is always slow. I understand telling people about the promotion, but each customer takes like 10 mins if not more. They need to figure out a better way to do this. read more

I have only had great experiences with the people who work here. As busy at it gets, they always manage to stay friendly and assist us as soon as they possibly can. Christian is such a wonderful young man. He's always busy doing something but always willing to help us out. I've gone to many Hot Topics but this one is our favorite. I went in today to look for a new band tee, and as I was looking , Celeste (i hope i spelled it right) was wonderful , she went out of her way to try to find a certain color shirt in bands I like. I didn't get to give good feedback to the cashier because I had forgotten but she was really sweet. And the line went fast even though it was pretty packed. 10/10 visit read more

The store was well kept, and there was a decent amount of merchandise to look at. What I did not like was that I was in the store for about 20-25 minutes, and not one employee went out of their way to ask me if I needed help or even say hello. The store was not busy. There was only one customer checking out, with two employees helping them. I needed help getting something out of the case, and I stood there for almost the entire 25 minutes waiting for someone to help me. Needless to say I purchased nothing. This is NOT the case with the store in the Brea Mall. They are friendly and willing to help the second you walk in the door. I will not be returning to this location again. & yes the employees both saw me standing there. read more

I will forever love hot topic- even if I no longer can fit into their sizes. They have such cute things!! You can pretty much walk in there and find t-shirts and other parapenilia from your favorite movies and television shows. How awesome is that?! I used to be able to wear their sizes, and I have a ton of True blood, Big Bang Theory, and Walking Dead shirts, bracelets, hoodies etc. They had Breaking Bad and Supernatural stuff too, yay! I just wish they had plus sizes so I could start shopping here again. read more

This rating is for Hot Topic in general. It's always a fun store to walk through to see what's trending. I like looking at the superhero merch and the cat shirts. There's always something new. There's a lot of stuff, enough to make you claustrophobic. It's like you're at a concert, but in the pit. Everything else is fine. The crew is always greeting their guest and saying bye. Ahhhh... Hot Topic. A mecca for everything goth/emo/rock/pop-culture related. We've all strolled by these shops in the mall. Maybe even peeked in from time to time to see what the place is about. Without fail, there's usually some kind of hard rock or techno/EDM music spilling out to draw attention, usually successfully. So for those of you who have not been brave enough to venture in, Hot Topic is a chain of stores that sells all kinds of things music/tv show/pop-culture related. They specialize in t-shirts and other clothes. See those teens wearing Pierce The Veil, Misfits or Ramone's t-shirts? They probably got them from a local Hot Topic. All things merchandise-able are found here. They tend to have a decent selection of Disney/Anime/Sci Fri related merchandise. I've found a couple choice Dr. Who items. This Hot Topic is the one I usually visit the most, since the wife and I frequent the Tyler Galleria pretty often. I usually duck in here while she's next door at Bath and Body works. For the most par, Hot Topic tend to be similar in offerings and layouts - with this location being a prime example. The employees here, usually tattooed semi goth/Rockabilly girls are usually helpful and friendly and pretty "easy on the eyes" so to speak. They are pretty good at pointing you in the right direction if your looking for something or are older like me and want to find a fun gift for a niece or nephew. My main issues with this location are the same ones with most all of them. Their music is usually pumped up way too high - so that you have to almost yell to the person in front of you to be heard. Also, its kind of hard to navigate in here when there are more than a few people in the shop. The aisles tend to be cramped and the merchandise displays in the middle of the store are plenty. It makes for challenging browsing. All in all its a cool enough place to take yourself or a teen relative to even if you might come out a tad deaf and claustrophobic. read more

Hot Topics are about the same. They have the current alternative pop culture merchandise and it is usually overpriced. I do like shopping here though because the people are friendly, the lines are fast, and the store is well organized. I love coming to a store where I can get Lion King gear that is made for adults, Star Wars merchandise that is made for women, or any cool gifts for friends. read more

I called this location before driving all the way down there to see if they still had any swim tops in stock since summer fashion season items are pretty slim in July. The sales associate told me that yes they did have some. Just to be a bit more specific I asked "Are there a-lot of tops left orrrr just a few". And her words, verbatim, were, "Well im not going to go count how many we have in stock, but theres a whole rack" and then she hung up... I thought that was pretty rude, considering I didn't ask her to count anything. I simply wanted to know if there was a good variety or selection available before I drove down there. Thankfully I was able to find what I needed and the employees were a lot more courteous in person. Other than that minor hiccup in customer service/communication on that particular sales associates part, they usually have great service and can help me find what I need. read more

Typical HT. Its pretty big though and they have A LOT of shirts. Staff is cool and friendly and theyll help you find whatever you need.

Kyley was super helpful...I was trying to use my Hot Topic CC their and it kept asking for a code... But I didn't know what the hell the code was...lol..so she tried calling for me but to no avail... The people from the bank were really rude...Kyley was very sweet and went above and beyond...I was so embarrassed thinking I wouldn't be able to get my merchandise... Went in to exchange a Christmas gift for my niece. The item i wanted was not in stock so they offered to order it for me. Great! I had 2 options; have it shipped home for a fee or ship it to the store for free. Okay ship it to the store. This was on 1/3/17. It is now the 24th. I call customer service and they tell me the item has been at the store since 1/11. I call the store. Speak to the store manager, Jay. He proceeds to tell me they are not required to call me but their system automatically sends me an email and perhaps the email went to my spam box. After i tell him i never got an email, not even in my spam box, he says " Well you can come in and return it if you'd like"...... No "im very sorry", no "im not sure what happened but i will check into it", NOTHING! It was obvious this manager could care less. I will pick up my item and contact corporate. read more
