I personally had an AMAZING time at this hotel. Honestly based on the reviews my friends and I were indecisive about staying here. However, from the minute we called to get more information about the hotel until the end of our stay the service was GREAT. One of the evening managers on duty did an amazing job walking us through the amenities and all the other services they offered. Happy hours were awesome and FREE!, Mario the bartender took great care of us as well. Also Joey -one of the staff members, took the time to give us a list of some of the clubs/bars to visit during our stay, which was extremely handy. Joel one of the bellmen was so nice always making sure he opened the door for my friends and I. Overall I would recommend this hotel to anyone! Great hotel for a great price, staff was super nice, the only odd person was our waiter at the restaurant. My friend ordered a plate that had sunny side up eggs mentioned on the menu, she asked if they could make it over easy and he said no, that its all mixed together and it is how it comes. He said he would see if they could cook it a little more, so not only were they not made over easy, they were two fully cooked/burned eggs, like almost inedible. So... if they could burn the egg, why was it not possible to make them over easy? Not to mention they were not mixed together at all. When the bill came we asked him just to split it in half, he said he would split it according to what we ordered, and I said no, its fine, just split it in half, call me crazy, but I am pretty sure that is not an uncommon request at a restaurant. BUT he decided to do it his own way and he charged the cards for what we ordered, which still would have been tolerable if he actually charged us for the correct items. It was so bizarre to me. Small rooms, housekeeping never came over a 2 day stay, $40 parking per night, $21 "resort fee" per day adds an unadvertised 40% cost to any nights stay. The outdoor pool is actually heated. A heated freakier pool in the middle of a tropical sauna? insane. Overall, you can get much bette value and a much better experience staying almost anywhere else on Miami Beach. My wife and I stayed at this hotel this past weekend. We have stayed there several times before, being loyal and respectful guests. During this recent stay, we encountered an incredibly rude and incompetent General Manager. My wife and I were resting in our room, with a "Do Not Disturb" sign on our door. Despite this, the GM banged on our door, and when I asked him what he was doing, he said he was checking to see if guests were in the room. I told him to leave us alone and respect the sign on the door and our privacy. He didn't even think to call our room if he absolutely needed to be sure guests were in it. After I complained to the front desk about his improper conduct and to him, he concocted a lie, saying someone reported loud language from our room, which he never said before. He also said our door was open, which it was not, compounding his lies, attempting to cover himself. I have been in hotels all over the world and never experienced anything life this behavior from a GM. As a result, the hotel lost loyal and respectful guests. We will never return to this property after this disgraceful behavior. read more

The hotel was beautiful inside, food was really good, and the people were sweet everything was going good. I unfortunately left my wallet at the hotel luckily someone called to tell me that I had left it and they would hold it till I was able to come get it in three days. When it was time to pick it up everything went wrong. I called to inform them that I was on the way to pick up my wallet and they acted like they had no idea what I was talking about and had no idea where it was. They then caught an attitude with my mother when she asked if a manager could possible know where the wallet was. When I finally got the wallet back $40 was missing out my wallet ! Then multiple charges where made on my credit card which means they went out of their way to look at my address for my zip code on my ID. Chargers were made after the wallet was picked up which means y'all took pictures of my card. To whoever it was who took the money out my wallet and is making charges on my card you are extremely wrong, do you not know the eighth commandment !!! THOU SHALL NOT STEAL!!!! read more

This was my first time in miami and we chose this resort because it was a little more low key than the hotels closer to south beach. It has a heated pool and a roof deck which was great for tanning or hanging out at night. The price was reasonable being that you are a block or so away from the beach. The rooms were small but cozy and the beds are comfortable. The tavern which is the hotel restaurant was much better than I anticipated. We had a great waiter named sunny several times and she was the best. Not only did she steer us in the right direction with our food but she also told us about all the hotspots around Miami. This is my long awaited review. This is THE BEST hands down boutique hotel on the beach. It was my 4th time staying at this hotel. Every time I stay here the experience is phenomenal. I had booked my reservation online and once I booked it I had called the hotel to speak to the GM Mr. Roberto Hermosilla. He was busy so I left a message with his front office manager Amanda Gonzalez. Amanda was very fast in getting back to me. I had told her it was my anniversary and I would like to get a room facing the pool on a higher up floor. She said she would try her best to accommodate me. When I got there on the Friday I checked in and spoke with Amanda. She had us booked in a single king bed room on a high floor with no extra charge. She really took care of me because I originally had a room with 2 queen size beds. When we got to our door we walked in and they had a bottle of champagne chilled on ice waiting for us. We stayed there for 3 days and we ate at the hotels restaurant the whole time we stayed there. This is my favorite spot to stay at when I drive down from Orlando. Its not far from ocean drive has FREE drinks at their bar from 7-8 pm for their guest. Its got a beautiful roof top deck with amazing water views and nice gym. The inside decor is really nice and a classic place to stay. Upon our check out I cant forget how Ms. Gonzalez spoke to me and asked me how the stay was. She had on this nice bluish dress with a gold zipper up the back really classy dress couldn't forget that. As me and my fiance were leaving I had just happened to see the GM ROBERTO HERMOSILLA leaving in his car. He had saw us getting in our car and he stopped his car in the middle of the street and got out and shook my hand and asked me if my stay was and if there was anything I didn't like. I had nothing but good things to say about my stay. Just like I said he STOPPED HIS CAR in the middle of the street to say good bye and check how my stay was. This is why I stay here no other GM would do. That and this is why I will continue to stay here and tell people how much of a good hotel and hidden gem this is to stay at. I hope ROBERTO and AMANDA see this and know how much of a good job they are doing running this place. Thanks again and ill be back to stay soon. read more

I was actually hung up on by the GM when I called to express my concern over the layer upon layer of additional non disclosed fees. Thanks Roberto - this adds nothing to assist in the complete lack of respect which your hotel showed to myself and my friend at check in. I work in the business of customer service and the number one rule is that a business should do what it can to assist a customer. If you and your desk manager were so disempowered that you were unable to assist then that is a sad statement about your company. The hotel had a very nice European/Mediterranean feel to it, which was really pleasing to me. The Valet and the Receptionist were great, and very pleasant which made checking in that much nicer. The room was very spacious, and very well put together. There is a very decent restaurant in the hotel (The Tavern) of which the Bartender was tops. The location from the beach was optimal as well. Now for the negative, absolutely zero reliable parking available; you either have to valet or run the gambit of a few parking spots on the street. While the room was nice, Direct TV sucked, as the channels kept "sticking", which made cuddle and movie time very frustrating. Also, there were only like 6 channels, and 2 were all Spanish speaking stations. The restaurant attendants were really distant and uninterested; of which I would find out that gratuity is added in the price, so it's not like they have to work for it. There was a young man there whom was very intuitive, and want him to get props. Lastly, the pool shown in the picture is a fraud! It's more of a wading foot tub that with the use of camera tricks, which makes it look much bigger than it is. While we enjoyed the stay, we won't be going back to this hotel. read more

This hotel was very nice but the hotel service crew was hot and cold. Lazaro the front desk attendant made sure all if out needs were met. He was awesome. Jose was amazing and also was nice enough to serve coffee and help us when needed. But there was this one girl specifically. Yazita. She was horrible and rude. She made us not want to continue our stay at the hotel. She tried charging us 300 for the room when hotels.com had it for 100. Hotels are suppose to honor those prices so they can make full profit. Otherwise they lose a percentage. But this lady was like no. 300. Haaaa no. I'll go online. Then there were a few other rude people at the hotel that were just rude. It was weird. Some people were extremely nice where others where rude. I didn't like that at all. The breakfast was free from 8-10. Very very simple. Basivally Bread and coffee. They bitched at my for bringing coffee upstairs ?! Weird. And if you have leftover food from going out then Forget about it unless you like it cold. They don't have a microwave anywhere. After all I did enough the room, the view, walking distance from beach and beach chairs. The pool was nice and there's an upper deck. They allow dogs and the hotel was nice overal. So that's about it. I would recommend it. DO NOT BOOK THROUGH THEM. GO TO HOTELS.com or somewhere and you'll get it for 1/3 price. Also look for coupon codes on those websites. It's a lot cheaper. I read some of the other reviews on this page before visiting this hotel and can say none of them do this hotel justice. This is a little hidden gem on Collins ave. Our room was clean and not as small as I expected. Housekeeping not only cleaned but organized the mess myself and my two girlfriends left. They also were quick to bring up additional towels when asked. The food at this hotel was honestly the best we experienced in Miami. After wandering around the neighborhood trying different places for breakfast lunch and dinner, we made a group decision to only eat at our hotel. The waiter staff and bartenders were attentive, talkative and professional. The complimentary happy hour had a great atmosphere and by night two the bartender remember us and our drinks. The rooftop lounge area is immaculate with amazing views of Miami beach. The pool is clean and inviting with attractive pool furniture not just the usual plastic lounge chairs. The clean beach is steps away with attentive chair people. You can take beach towels from the front desk and you get two chairs per room at the beach. The door was held open for us each time we walked in by the friendly bell boys who wouldn't even let us carry our suitcases up the stairs. I noticed they had a valet station right out front in case you needed your car. The front desk staff was quiet but sweet always offering a friendly hello, and answering our many questions. Overall the best decision we made with our trip to Miami was staying in this hotel. I highly recommend it and if I return to Miami I will definitely be staying here. read more

Pleasantly surprise!! We had to book this hotel at the last minute because our reservations at another hotel were cancelled. We got the room at a great price. Staff is extremely nice and helpful and the roof top deck is awesome. The room was very modern and sleek, I could've laid in that bed all day. The only downside I can say is that there is a lot of construction going on in the area but that won't last forever and they don't offer room service (yet) but the restaurant is just downstairs in the lobby. Pros - concierge had a very positive attitude and good eye contact. - room was cleaned everyday. - was able to borrow a mini fridge. - bathroom was always clean. - good selection of tv channels. - great views. - great piña coladas! - it's in a great location. (Despite the beach being near, there is also a Walgreens, Dunkin Donuts, BOA, Chase and a good pizza place called Pizza Dude on 41st Street over the bridge.) - iced spice chai teas are delicious at the Havana Cafe in the lobby. Cons - no iron boards to iron clothes. - REALLY NOISY, you can literally hear someone having a conversation outside of your door. - rooms were very small. - the restaurant downstairs (The Tavern) was so confusing, there was no host to sit one down. - heated pool when it's literally 90 degrees outside. read more

Worst hotel I have ever stayed at. Booked it thru Priceline.com $100+ a night but not the end of my debit card and their machine meeting. There is no free parking on site or anywhere around. Juan Carlos tells you 'Your on Miami Beach you can't work anywhere, you have to use our valet service for $42 dollars a day'. Okay no big deal. I can understand that. I week before my stay I called them to confirm my booking, they transfer me to their south beach hotel call center and I talk to some jose Luis douchebag that doesn't want to do his job. All I needed was to check if I have a room with 2 queens or not. He stated yes. Juan Carlos gave me a room with 1 king. I go back down to him to change it and he says it's another $40 a night. I'm baffled. Wth are you serious? I'm okay with paying the price for what I want as long as you are upfront. General manager was a complete (no word can describe him that comes to mind yet). Supposedly their hotel is sold out every night. Lies, there where like 2 cars in the lot. And four people at the pool. This was the worst worst worst hotel experience ever. I'd definitely chose a motel 6 over this place. I'm surprised they haven't put a counter on the toilet and charge per flush. Take a vacation from this hotel, the ridiculous extra charges are never going to take a vacation from your bank. read more

Do not go here! They lack basic amenities for the room as well as sneaky doors. We stayed here from the 27th through the 31st and almost every night when we would come back to our room our door was open. On the last day I noticed I was missing a $100 bill that was there previously before I stepped out for about 20 minutes. I bring it to the hotel's attention and ask for the footage, the manager comes down and tells me if I didn't put it in the safe then legally they're covered. No type of urgency and automatically I felt attacked, he said he's been with his staff for six years and knows for certain that they would never take valuable items from a guest's room. Absolutely terrible I will never come back here nor will I ever allow someone I know to come to this establishment. read more

Comfy beds is the only good thing about this hotel but the walls are paper thin and the rooms are small. Absolutely terrible service!! The staff doesn't seem to care at all about their guests. Receptionist doesn't answer phone, it takes 2 hours just to get clean towels, valet rapes you $40 a day and still makes you wait hours before you receive your vehicle. You're better off parking it somewhere down the road yourself, not just to save a lot of money but just so you can have freedom over your own vehicle. I can't imagine what I would do if I had to check out and catch a flight and wait hours to get my car that they say takes time because they park all their cars 7 blocks away and only have 1 person staffed for all vehicles. No one seems to know what they are doing, the hotel is very inefficiently ran, and no one takes responsibility for the crappy service. Never again read more

Best Bang for your $$$!!! My recent stay at Hotel Croydon was AMAZING!!! Lazaro and all of the Hotel Croydon staff were very attentive and hospitable at all times. My room was spacious and superbly clean. The Tavern restaurant within the hotel served delicious food and drinks. The pool was refreshing and relaxing, along with the rooftop deck that gives nothing but miles of remarkable views of Southbeach Miami. Any extra request were completed in a quick, timely manner and you are always greeted with a beautiful, friendly smile. So happy we found this spot to stay! I almost don't want to leave a review because I don't want anyone to find this hidden gem. For the price to stay here you truly can't beat it. It is only a 1 minute walk to the beach and there is a parking garage just 2 blocks away if you need it. The front desk staff are so friendly and the bar/restaurant staff are awesome. You may even meet some fabulous and interesting people at the bar! The happy hour is also a steal for the price to stay here. Only feedback would be the internet was unstable and the outlets were loose in our room, so if you're looking for somewhere to stay on business this may not be the spot. But, if you're looking to disconnect this is the place for you! They also accidentally double booked our room due to a computer glitch, but we understood technology happens. It was a little shocking to see a man trying to get into our room, but the manager and staff immediately came up, apologized, and explained the situation. Don't forget to check out the rooftop deck for great pictures and views. Can't wait to stay here again, especially if they can upgrade the Wi-Fi read more

High point of this property is it's location - one block from the beach worked out well. The rooms are very small, and not sound proofed AT ALL. You can hear everything from inside your guest room. Housekeeping staff was rude when we were not ready for the room to be cleaned when they knocked on the door - and they did not shut our room door all the way. Beware! Our room door was left propped open for hours, luckily nothing was taken. Complimentary happy hour was just okay - well drinks only. This is the 1st time for me staying at this hotel. When I checked in and was assigned to my room of 218 I noticed a lot of bugs in the bathroom... I didn't think anything of it. I kilt a few and just went on with my stay. The next morning I went to take a shower which there was as NO BUGS in the bathroom. I stepped out to get a few of my belongings and noticed bugs on the ceiling as well as in the shower and on the wall. I called down to the front desk and explained my problem they said they would switch my room as soon as I got back from running my errands. After running my errands I stopped by the front desk to exchange my key for my new accommodated room, I was then told that the hotel was BOOKED and they couldn't do anything for me. I stated I spoke with the manager this morning who promised they would change my room. They then proceed to change my room to 204. Like any hotel I stay in I check for bed bugs, before I can get to checking the bed I noticed the sheets had quite a few stains on them. I called to the front desk to state my complaint. They sent the cleaning crew up to check the bed. They also noticed the same stains and offer to change the lining on the bed for me. They spoke in Spanish the whole time stating that the cleaning crew was horrible and that she should of seen the stains and not put the lining on the bed. My sister & I went there for 3 days to celebrate her birthday and we had the best time ever. Our waitress, Tatiana, was so awesome we tried to sit in her section each night. She always made sure that we were taken care of, even if she wasn't our waitress. Aleks, the bartender also did a terrific job of making sure we were always taken care of at the bar. If neither of those 2 were around, then Jose or Denis took care of us. The all made us feel like special guests of the hotel and I don't think our stay would have been as awesome as it was if not for those 4 wonderful people. Thanks for making our vacation so special! Having stayed at many different Miami Beach hotels throughout the years, this was one of the worst! SMALL, NYC size rooms and the bathroom was so small with absolutely no counter space. Ladies, getting ready was a challenge. The room had no tissues, no luggage rack and we could hear our neighbors loud and clear. The lobby area was super small, unlike many other Miami Beach boutique hotels that I've stayed at. The worst thing was that I was sick the night we stayed there and the smoke detector starting chirping at 2:30 am. We called the front desk to let them know we needed batteries for the detector and waited 5 or 6 minutes. My husband climbed up and jiggled the detector and the chirping stopped. Mind you, no one from the front desk came up during that time. My husband called to let them know he thought he fixed it. At 3:15 am the chirping started again....I called the front desk and asked them to bring up batteries immediately. The front desk attendant came up to our room and said they didn't have batteries...that maintenance handles the smoke detectors. So we had to pull down the smoke detector so that we could get some sleep. While they did offer to move us to a different room, had we done that I would have been awake all night. Luckily there was no fire that night otherwise we wouldn't have been alerted. Overnight employees should be trained to handle something simple like putting in new batteries in a smoke detector or even giving batteries to guests to do it themselves. The next morning I went to the front desk and asked the woman that due to our lost sleep, could we please be comped breakfast. She said no immediately and said that she could offer us a late checkout. I asked again about breakfast as it was a huge inconvenience and she said No, sorry. Not, "Oh, let me check with my manager." I suspect this happens a lot. This has NEVER happened at a hotel before that I've stayed at and I travel a lot. Needless to stay, we won't ever stay here again. read more

"Eek! Methinks not." - lol this is what yelp puts when you do 1 star! I had no idea because I have never posted a 1 star review before! This Hotel is a NIGHTMARE! Someone kept knocking on my door at 7am, then 8am, then 9am "housekeeping, housekeeping, housekeeping" WHY IN THE WORLD DO I HAVE A "DO NOT DISTURB" SIGN IF YOU ARE GOING TO KEEP KNOCKING!!! If that were the only problem I probably would have given a higher review but it wasn't, the staff was very ill-informed and quite frankly rude. No one seemed to understand the valet parking situation, I was sent in and out and in and out, "oh you have to checkin first" "no you need to give the car to the valet" "do you have your room number?" "why didn't you just give the keys to the valet?" - Well how about because you do not seem to know the order of operations in your own hotel, and if you do not know them than how should I ???? WHAT IN THE WORLD IS THAT? Continuing on, The sheets in the room were almost hard, does that make sense? They were scratchy and not comfortable to sleep on at all. I also found sand in the bathroom, which I can understand because this hotel is right next to the beach, but the housekeeping staff which is apparently so eager to do their jobs while you are sleeping in the morning defiantly needs to pay more attention when they actually do have access to the room for cleaning! Another negative, not necessarily the hotels fault, the traffic on this island is INSANE, I spent 1 hour trying to cross a bridge, there are only 2 bridges on this island. if you are trying to even move from one side of the island to the other after 3pm, you are looking at an hour plus of traffic, if you HAVE to stay here rent a bike or moped otherwise you're STRANDED! Finally, I was in the lobby and overheard the manager yelling at a customer, that was probably the breaking point for me. I am sorry but in any situation, a manager should never yell at a customer. And if you must yell, maybe you should go into your office or something, not handle discrepancies right out in the open lobby like that. I will not be returning to this hotel. For the price i paid for a "boutique" hotel experience, I could have booked at a larger more luxurious hotel for $50 more and had access to all the amenities. Lesson Learned! read more

The location is excellent and restaurant was decent. The rooms were basic and during covid they provided no services (and were proud of it). It took 10 hours for them to fix a bell that went off every 15 minutes and could be heard in my room and on the roof deck (which was nice and near my room). The sheets on the bed had holes in them. I asked them to change the bed and they dropped off some flat sheets in the hallway for me to fix it myself. I had to call them to come pick up trash or provide new glassware. Their application of the covid rules seemed to be more about cost savings than the protection for their staff. The next hotel (as I changed hotels immediately after) provided limited services, but upon request would clean room (make bed or change sheets if necessary) and collect trash (provided I wasn't present). The staff was rude at Hotel Croydon and when I needed help cleaning up a spill, they ignored me and decided to charge me on exit, which is fine if they weren't rude about it. read more

Had such an amazing stay in this hotel. It's small and quiet and the staff were all very friendly. Patrick at the front desk was there for two of our days and he made walking in and out of the hotel a pleasure. The rooms were nice size and very clean. I was nervous staying at this hotel because of the reviews I saw, but I'm glad we did! It's in a nice, quiet area of Miami Beach. The only reason this review isn't five stars is because of parking. They offer valet for $40 a day and then there is on street parking that can be rather pricey. We stayed three days and ended up playing $70 for on street parking with one day being spent in land. Really nice and clean boutique style hotel. The price was great, our room was exactly as pictured on the website. We would definitely stay there again when we come back. the only thing but wasn't major, I wish they offered King size beds. My husband and I have king at home and kind of use to the room. Other than that now complaints. read more
