I recommend this hotel. The room was very CLEAN and the location was great!!! The beach is across the street and the beach chairs were complimentary...no charge! The Tavern (hotel resturant) not so great. For dinner I ordered a chicken dish, the chicken was not prepared well, therefore, I could not eat it and I still got charged for it. For breakfast I ordered French Toast, I make better French toast, and the coffee was weak. Bottom line, the room and location was great, food not so great but there's a lot of eating establishments around so don't let the food stop you from staying at this hotel. read more

IF YOU WEAR MAKE-UP DON'T STAY HERE!!!! While staying at the hotel my experience was average. Nothing too spectacular which was fine because I was barely in the room. I mean it is South Beach! Literally was only in my room to change clothes or sleep. My biggest problem with the hotel is CUSTOMER SERVICE. Super Rude!!! After checking out of the hotel I noticed that there was an additional $94.00 charge, so I called the hotel to see where that came from. The initial front desk representative looks up the reservation and can only tell me that it was for room damages. I was outraged because I knew I left the hotel room in tip top shape. I ask t to speak with a manger who wasn't there at the moment, but the guy took my name & number and swore they would call me back shortly. 8 HOURS LATER I called the hotel back and spoke with a rude lady by the name of TONYA who huffed her breath multiple times when I asked her to explain what damages where left. She explained to me because there was MAKE UP on the SHEETS & TOWELS they could not use them again and I was charged for replacement. Seriously MAKE-UP!!! I have stayed in many hotels and have never heard of anything so ridiculous. I asked Tonya were the sheets washed and she told me she knew from looking at them that they could not be saved. Like really the hotel NEVER even tried to wash the sheets and towels before charging me for replacement. I also mention to her a stain is not a damage and if they do not allow make up on sheets and towels it should be specified in their policy. Had I known that I would have NEVER STAYED HERE. Tonya rushed me off the phone stating that I already signed the damage policy so it didn't matter what I said. Don't waste your time staying here, ladies! read more

We booked a room there a couple of weeks ago, when we checked in, in the early morning hours, the room had an unbelievable moist, mold and mildew smell, the most horrible air quality that I can ever remember experiencing. I wasn't able to sleep, and I and my daughter got red eyes, coughing and a terrible headache. I wouldn't recommend this hotel even for free. read more

horrible experience! I stayed last month at this hotel for one night I found a blood spot on our linen and the pillow cases were dirty. I complained to the front desk guy and his response was I'm sorry but this happens. I DONT recommend anyone staying there I really don't think they change linen. read more

Loved our stay at the Croydon. Great location across the street from beach and not too far far from South Beach scene. Hotel was just starting to serve breakfast and there were a few service issues, but the food was excellent. read more

This was the best experience I have ever had at a hotel. The service was impeccable from arrival to departure. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone traveling to the Miami Beach area. The restaurant, The Tavern, had the freshest dishes and the service was the best I've seen in awhile. We decided to dine outdoors every day and we were surrounded by the beautiful greenery and great service. Every morning we were greeted by each staff member working with a smile, and even some hugs. They all made us feel like we were their top priority. I will never forget my stay and I want to give a special thank you to all that took care of us. Thank you Trakenya, Allen, Linda, Lazaro, Thomas, Gaby, Zach, and Israel. I am already planning a trip for next year with my entire family and we will definitely be staying at the Hotel Croydon. read more

A block from the Beach board walk. Food in their restaurant was great. I had a Philly Cheese steak that was well above average. The room was nice from beds to fixtures. One thing they are lacking is the time the Valet takes to bring your car around. They Need to walk/run 7 or 8 blocks to get it so call the front desk 15 minutes before you need your car, regardless, Santiago with the Valet provided extraordinary service today. My rental car wheels lug nuts were not tightened down at all, Santiago recognized this, pulled out the tire iron and tightened them for me on the spot. You rock Santiago!! read more

A very relaxing place to eat for breakfast, lunch and dinner. They have a waiting area with great literature to choose from. Claudia, the bartender/barista was exceptionally nice and happy to serve. It's not everywhere in Miami that you find such great customer service. Thank you! read more

But hotel was very clean they let us to do early check in since our flight landed at 6 am for a additional fee. This stay was absolutely horrible. We arrived after booking through Expedia and when we arrived they told us we had to request specifically two beds if we wanted that and had to pay 40 extra per night. The worst part was the lack of a functional air conditioning system. The thermostat was set to 80 degrees Fahrenheit in the room and was centrally controlled by the hotel. When we called to ask them to turn the temperature down they said okay and never did. We called about 4 times before becoming so hot and frustrated we decided to leave and check-out a day early because it was unbearable. This is Miami, you cannot set the temp to 80!!! Unacceptable. And then the woman at the front desk was rude when we told her the situation. I would never come back to this hotel again. read more

My wife and I stayed there back in September for one night. When I entered the hotel the man running the front desk took my name and reservation then left and took forever to come back. When he finally came back I asked him where to park and he said they had a valet parking service for $40 a day and if we didn't want the service then we had to go find a parking spot ourselves. We went and parked and came back then we were let known that we had to pay a $100 deposit for our room and it had to be in cash or credit card no debit card. I went to the atm took the cash out and payed the deposit fee. In the morning we went to check out and we were expecting to be returned the deposit fee. The new person running the front desk acted like he had no idea about it and then looked it up in the computer and saw where we had made the $100 deposit and told us they would send us a check in the next few weeks. It's been 2 months now and we haven't received a penny! read more

We will definitely be coming back to stay at this hotel, and you should too. read more

Probably the worst hotel experience I have ever had. I saw a few bad reviews on different sites but i figured you can't always please everyone. Now I see why they have bad reviews. When we first checked in they said we had to request two beds, which I did when I emailed them and they never emailed back. The girl at the front desk was so rude, wouldn't even look us in the eyes when talking to us and felt so bothered. She gave us our room key and as we went to our room and opened our door, there were people in our room! When I went down again she questioned me and asked if I was sure? Of course I was sure I saw two people laying in the bed. Then she said oh I put you in the wrong room, well what makes you so sure you won't do it again? We were worried that we were not going to be in our room and someone can come in and take our stuff. Then the next day we leave around 10 and return at 430 to a completely dirty room, no house keeping has come, but the light in our room was turned on so it was obvious someone was in there. When we called and asked they said they are not sure why it happened, but it is usually done before 3. They told us to call them tomorrow morning when we leave so they can come do the room. So come the following morning, we are leaving and call at 10, let them know we are leaving, and they tell us they will send someone right away. Fast forward to 4:30 a we return to our room and nothing was done yet again. We call the desk and they send housekeeping to our room. My friend explained the situation to them as I was showering. when I got out my friend said that housekeeping is leaving at 5:30, which means we have to be rushed out of our room within the next hour, while he still had to shower. We called the front desk and told them what happened, they said they will call us back. Two minutes later we receive the call that housekeeping won't budge and they can only give us fresh towels. I told him to send them at 5 and I will be in the room as they clean. I don't understand what I paid for here? To clean everything myself? To swim in a dirty pool? Or to be rushed out of my room. Horrible service and I don't understand how no one has reached out to us from management. Everyone beware it looks like a cute hotel on the website but it is not worth it!!!!! Our company does a yearly business meeting in Miami and this will not be my recommendation. read more

The staff were both friendly and beautiful. They joked around with us in a professional manner, and assisted us with the few questions that we had. The rooms were clean, beautifully furnished, and ours had a great view of the ocean. My brother and I were only in town for a night, but I plan on coming back to stay at this hotel for a longer period of time. The bar seemed like a great place to grab some pre-dinner cocktails, or early breakfast. The prices were very reasonable, and the atmosphere was fun. They call themselves a boutique hotel, and they stand by this. So much better than a commercialized, trashy, chain hotel, and MUCH cheaper too. read more

Immaculate boutique hotel, the cleanest hotel I've ever stayed at. The waitress Wendy at the Tavern was awesome, she greeted us with a smile every morning. Joel Rosario & Jesus Reyes both bellmen were super helpful also. We heard that Miami was voted the 2nd rudest cities in the U.S. Well this hotel obviously doesn't hire those folks. The only complaint I have is that their electric shuttle car was always dead. I heard they have 3, but only 1 was working. Oh it's also very quiet there, we had heard that Miami Beach is loud, not at the Croyden. See you again soon... read more

Great place to stay at Miami beach! I spent two nights there and had a super fantastic experience! When I arrived, their valet parking was full. The very nice bellman Miguel Gonzalez heard this, he gave me his own parking spot! This made me feel so warm and thankful! Thank you Miguel! read more

The hotel overall was very clean! Much appreciated compared to other hotels in the area. Room was small and we expected a king bed but received two queens. The bell staff and valet were extremely friendly and helpful! We did not get in until about 9 pm but they all had suggestions of things to do and places to go in the hotel (roof top deck). Upon check out Joel came to our room and helped us load our bags. He was amazing! Very attentive and waited patiently while I brushed my teeth. He stored our bags for us while we ate breakfast and handed over our ticket to the valet. He was great! Would return to hotel for a short stay! read more

This Hotel was amazing. My wife and I stayed here last week during our spring break and had a blast. The rooms were clean, hallways were quiet, and the service was top of the line! The front counter was beneficial with giving us towels and quality assistance. The restaurant on the ground floor (The Tavern) was also amazing. The breakfast and dinner was awesome and the happy hour free drinks from 7-8 was a major key! It walking distance from the beach. Literally like a minute away, its just across the street. I recommend this place, it's away from all the loud spring break partiers so it make perfect for seclusion and family enjoyment. read more

Stayed here 2 years ago and it was great but this trip it seemed like it wasn't kept up as well. The walls are definitely thin and unfortunately we were right by the elevator. The cleaning service came by at night to clean the room, we asked for them to come back in a few when we went to dinner and they just never came back the rest of the time we were there. The pool does get shaded early in the day from the building but just a quick walk to the beach! read more

After I booked I saw all of the bad reviews on Yelp, the Google reviews were really good. I was expecting the worse. This hotel is Great! I stayed from April 21st-24th. The location is a block from the beach, had a nice pool, great breakfast, lunch and dinner options nothing I saw over $29, free happy hour for hotel guest for an hour drinks, free shuttle to and from airport, around restaurants and local shopping and on the street of free trolley and free wifi. Almost everything was great at the hotel. Hotwire messed up our room and gave me and cousin one queen bed instead of double. I called the hotel while waiting for the shuttle at airport and was upgraded to a king size bed. We were advised that it would be facing a wall which was fine. The restaurant food was reasonably priced for Miami and the location was up the street from the beach. The free drinks for hotel guests are from 7 to 8 p.m. House liquor vodka, tequila, gin and whiskey all drinks were good not to strong or watered down, just right. You do have to bring back the same glass when doing the happy hour. The breakfast and dinner was delicious, way better than I expected. It was filling for items between $12 and $15, which is all I spent each meal. Gratuities were included, which we were informed everytime we ate in the restaurant. We needed extra blankets and they were brought without any issue to the room, two days in a row when requested. We ask for extra towels and we were given. I will say the shower did leak I'm not sure if there are some issues with sealing on the shower base but, the towels did help. The beds were comfortable, housekeeping came daily she was very nice, if we asked her to return later she did. The hotel staff were friendly and knowledgeable. I would stay at this hotel again if I go back to Miami, I really enjoyed it. I guess maybe it's under new management but, I did enjoy it and I would recommend them to others. read more

If I could give it zero I would. Where to begin. When I booked I was specifically looking for a hotel with free airport shuttle , that was centrally located near the beach was reasonably priced, offered 2 beds for me and my sister and on more of the upscale side as it's the last night of our vacation . The website had beautiful pictures and amazing reviews. The website said at the top under amenities that it had free airport shuttle. When I received my confirmation it stated the options were queen or two full beds. It did showed that I had requested two double beds but that my request would not be guaranteed When we arrived at the hotel I was told that if I wanted to double beds it would cost more, not that they didn't have any available they did, but it would cost more I try to explain that on the website after I booked it said I had the option of either, it did not say that there was additional fee. He would not budge, and I felt like $184 was enough so needless to say my sister and I are sleeping snuggled up. Then I explained that we need to go ahead and book the airport shuttle for the next morning. I was then told that the airport shuttle does not arrive until seven or 730, which would not get us to the airport in time for our flight. I feel defeated and so we head up to our room. Ok a few good things.. we were able to check in early at 1pm (we arrived from our cruise around 11am and we were able to hang out on the roof deck).. the room looked nice and clean. So after going out to lunch we return to rest b4 dinner.. the walls/doors are paper thin, we hear the dozens of people loudly going to and fro and we hear what sounds like ladders , drills (this ended up being the hair dryer from next door ), in room mini bar is possessed and loud , oh and no hand soap or Kleenex but tons of shampoo and conditioner..1 roll of TP, good thing my husband wasn't here. Then we decided we were too tired to go out so we will try the restaurant downstairs for dinner and happy hour. Good- free drinks from 7-8 ( after my sister got her first drink they conveniently ran out of vodka ) after we order dinner I decided , prompted by my sister ,that I would go speak with the manager . The manager ended up being the woman that I talked with when we checked in about the free shuttle or lack there of. When I was told it was her I needed to speak with , I walked over and sat down and she had such a look of disdain and disgust on her face I literally said "it doesn't really look like you want to hear what I have to say."Zero I repeat zero customer service skills! She proceeded to school me and what I should've done when I looked online as far as searching for the Asterix at the very bottom of the page (after clicking SEE MORE) noting that there are special times and then advising me that I should've called The hotel. I didn't even get into the double bed versus single bed issue because I knew it was a lost battle. There was no real apology, So I gave up and went back to my seat with my sister. By the time I got back our meals had arrived mine was pathetic at best my sisters wasn't even the right meal. I had a veggie Panini which is supposed to have a Portabella mushroom and literally the sliver of portobello didn't even cover half of the bread and was basically one bite it was so so sad and disappointing. Then the manager finally shows up at the table and proceeds to tell me that they're offering a 25% discount on our meal which basically after the already added 18% gratuity , was like a couple dollars. Oh and upon checking in , not only do they take your card for incidentals they also put a $100 hold on your account that will be returned to you within 7 to 30 days !! If I hadn't already paid for this room (and by the way I used my free night credit I earned on this place!! Eeerrgghh!!!) we would've left running !!!!!! Good - The restaurant manager Gabby was the only one that seem to have any kind of customer service skills whatsoever !! I will never ever stay here or any of these hotels again nor will I promote them to anyone . Hotels.com should remove them from their website. read more

The hotel was very beautiful with a great rooftop! However, every little noise was audible from inside the rooms. The doors were definitely not sound-proof. The airport shuttle was very unreliable/not anywhere near on-time, nor did the hotel staff seem to know the schedule of the shuttle. Therefore, I was stuck with a $35 cab fee to the airport. Overall, this hotel should not be considered 4 stars. It is a solid 3 star hotel at best. read more

Visited the restaurant today as I am staying in a hotel near. I was pleasantly surprised with the quality of the food, nice taste and cooked with love. I stayed at this property a week ago. The hotel room was awesome, however the bartender was rude and disgusting. Special recognition for the excellent services of these staff members: Alex Salavar, Bellperson; Lazaro Castillo, Front Desk; Jesus, Bellperson and Barbie from the Havana Coffee Shop in the lobby. Kudos to these wonderful people that were so incredibly helpful, friendly and professional. MY ONLY COMPLAINT: The elevators were very slow and the lack of parking. The restaurant was very good but you better not be in a hurry because the service was incredibly slow, we waited almost 45 minutes after we placed our orders on a couple of occasions. The room was very clean and comfortable, the rooftop deck was wonderful and the view of the ocean and city was incredible. The pool was heated and very clean. Booked and stayed here for 2 nights. Room was pretty nice and very clean. Thought it was a great choice until I open a bag of chip that had been expired for 53 weeks! The next day as we were leaving the room we saw and let housekeeping know we were going out and she could clean the room. Short while later we realized one of our keys didn't work. We thought nothing of it. later that evening when I was heading upstairs I stopped and waited in line behind a few people to have the key reprogrammed. Then when I got upstairs my key didn't work either and neither did the new one he just reprogramed. So I headed back downstairs to wait in line again and then when I got up to the desk he demanded to know if somebody else was staying with me in the room. I informed him that there was, but he was standing upstairs next to me also trying to get in the room. Then he wanted to know if there were any lights that came on when I swiped my card and I told him the red lights came on and he insisted that meant that somebody inside the room had locked me out. Told him the only way that could be is if they had rented the room to another guest. One of the maintenance guys following us up and messed around with it for a good 10 minutes and then another maintenance guy came to no avail. eventually they left and came back with a physical key and let us in and then told us if we wanted to leave we could just get someone at the front desk to come walk with us upstairs and manually let us into our room. Each time. By this time I was irritated, plus the maid hadn't gotten into our room to clean it. when I call down to the front desk to verify that nobody was able to give us a key to our room he confirmed it and then said if we wanted, we could leave the room and just leave the door ajar to get back in! What?! Are you freaking kidding me? Clearly he inherited a stupid gene. What woman would leave her door ajar for a few hours and then come back and just hope and pray that someone hadn't robbed them or wasn't lying in wait for them? Just asinine and completely unacceptable. For the price we paid, I don't think a room key or housekeeping is too much to ask. the worst part is they were just so dismissive about it. entirely too many hotels there to have to settle for that. Will never stay there again. stayed at circa 29 for the next two nights beautiful and super clean, service was so much better and we got working keys. no issues at all. read more

The hotel itself is actually really nice but I had a pretty bad sleeping experience. The bed was uncomfortable and the room was musty when we first got there. Wanted to turn on the A.C. but you can't do that from the room! Anytime you need to turn on the AC or change the thermostat you have to call the front desk. It is really frustrating, especially when you wake up at 4 am completely freezing and have to call the front desk to get it changed, and then wait for them to actually do it. Also, you can hear absolutely everything from the hallway. Wasnt a terrible experience, but i wouldn't stay here again. read more
