Cleaning supplies in the hallway? Great storage idea .

WTAF? We had a room with no working phone, no power to charge our devices, and no working TV. We had to use our (almost) dead devices to call the front desk (because the phone in the room was completely DEAD) only to be told there was nothing they could do to help us and no manager onsite until the next afternoon. No working phone....no way to charge our devices...safety issue? Umm yes. And also just a terrible experience. Thanks a lot Lester, and managers Eric and Cindy, who could either NOT help us at all, or were not at work to do their jobs. We are frequent visitors of the Lincoln Park area with many more plans to come here, and will definitely find a different place to stay. Hotel Lincoln can suck it!

Hotel Lincoln was a great stay. The staff was nice and welcoming from the moment we checked in. The room was clean and comfortable, with everything we needed for a relaxing visit. The location is one of the best parts. You are right next to the zoo and Lincoln Park, which makes morning walks really peaceful and easy. It is also close to plenty of places to eat and explore, so you can get around without much effort. Overall, it is a solid hotel in a great area with friendly service. I would stay here again.

This review is for the rooftop restaurant "JDV by Hyatt" NOT the hotel itself. I came her for brunch in the summer, which was lovely, and had excellent views of the city, but the food was mid/sub-par at best. You could tell that it was cheap inexpensive quality, and wasn;t prepared with care. As soon as I saw it, I knew what I was in for. And sure enough when I started eating it, I realized that I couldve made something better at home. The layout felt like a cluttered pooldeck. No warmth, no welcoming feel - just a bit weird. Overall Disappointing and insanely overpriced! The server was super friendly and nice, but was a little clueless and not attentive. It was only made nice by the bottomless mimosas and company we had, but I will not be returning here.

This place is really gone downhill over the past few years. The room was in miserable condition... The furniture looked old and tattered, the television didn't work and the shades were inoperable. They really need to start sinking some money into this place... My wife and I've stayed there many times but that's in the past as will be seeking other accommodations going forward...

Front door after lights out...it's like a nightlight, but only much brighter...

Was in town for a weekend graduation. Town was fully booked so took a shot here. Staff is great, facilities are mid, and the building/rooms are tired. Stayed on the 12th floor, A/C was inop and literally duct taped into its hole, front door has MAJOR gaps around 3 sides (note to light sleepers), shower was scalding or ice bath temp, elevators were on & off for 3 days. If not for the staff, we would have moved, but they helped make our stay doable. Coffee shop folks were dope (especially the singing barista!!), valet folks, Americano staff & all. Understand it's a piece of Chicago history, but needs a revamp n a serious manner.

The Elevators- Ridiculous, let me explain. 4 elevators in a building with 27 floors. 5 or 6 are open to public, or used for events. 1 elevator was broke. Keycards are required to get to room floors (loved this) but catching one that's not full to get on depends upon time of day. it's is after 9pm they close one elevator for the 27th floor night bar and it goes 1 & 27 that's it. That left two elevators running for all guests. Normally took a lot of waiting. When leaving the wedding it took MULTIPLE(8+) time waiting for an elevator to be able to leave the 3rd floor to get to 15 because we had wedding stuff with us and was trying to be respectful of others space finally had one come by with less than 6 ppl in it! Give yourself 30 mins to struggle with the elevator if you're going for a special event, or a booked reservation anywhere.

We could not have been happier with our decision to have our wedding reception at theWit Chicago,…read moreand so much of that experience was thanks to Daphne Kirby, their Senior Catering Manager. From our very first interactions with Daphne, she gave us this immediate feeling of, "We've got you covered." Wedding planning comes with so many details and so many things to worry about, but we always felt like we were in incredibly capable hands. Daphne was responsive, reassuring, and genuinely invested in making sure everything came together the way we envisioned it. The hotel itself was exactly what we were looking for. It has a beautiful contemporary feel, and the rooftop was an absolutely stunning setting for both our cocktail hour and afterparty. Having those different spaces within the same venue made the entire evening flow incredibly well while still giving each part of the celebration its own atmosphere. The tasting was another highlight of the planning process. We were able to each bring two guests with us to help develop the menu, and everyone walked away incredibly impressed with the quality and variety of the food. That carried through to the wedding itself--the food was excellent, the service was spectacular, and everything was executed beautifully. One of the things that surprised us most was the value. For the quality of the food, level of service, beautiful spaces, and a prime downtown Chicago location, we honestly felt we received tremendous value for what we spent. And that doesn't even include how impressive the rooms were for our bridal and groom suites. Most importantly, the level of attention didn't disappear once the planning was over. Throughout our wedding day and even into the next day, Daphne was just a text message away whenever we needed anything. That kind of accessibility and personal attention made a huge difference and allowed us to simply enjoy the experience rather than worry about the details. Our wedding reception was everything we hoped it would be, and theWit and Daphne were a huge part of making that happen. We would recommend them without hesitation to anyone looking for a beautiful downtown Chicago wedding venue with outstanding food, service, and a team that truly makes you feel taken care of from beginning to end.

While searching hilton.com for a hotel to stay at on the day of my birthday, Hampton Inn Majestic…read moreChicago Theatre District was the first to pop-up within Chicago. I want to say that I have had my eye on this hotel for a while now after looking for Hilton hotel locations with a peloton bike, which this one has. Other than that, I loved that the location of this hotel sits in the heart of Chicago, surrounding a plethora of activities which made it the perfect choice for hotel stay to celebrate. Okay, it was an experience going up to the lobby area to check in at this hotel, a blonde moment as I am known for if you follow my reviews. The lobby is located on the 4th floor, so be sure to choose "L" for the lobby because there is no 4th floor button listed in the elevator. Me and two other hotel guests had an adventure going up to the lobby area after trying to figure out where the 4th floor button was. My experience with the receptionist working behind the desk was nothing less than professional. Since my room was already booked through Hilton Honors, the only thing check-in consisted of was a verification of my information, a briefing on what is offered, and the receptionist giving me my room key. For your information, check-in starts at 4:00 PM and check-out ends at 12:00 PM! If you have the Hilton honors application, there is the opportunity to check in with the application, choosing your room, and receiving a digital key, which will allow you to go to your room contactless without seeing a receptionist upon your arrival. I have not used this method, but if you are interested in no contact whatsoever then you can use it with the Hilton Honors application. After locating and entering my room, I thought to myself this is fancy once I took notice of the design and interior color which appeared so elegant! There was a variation of vibrant colors in the room from its curtains to the headboard of the king-size bed, the carpet, and a gold chair that looked like something out of your grandmother's house. Out of all, I just could not take my eyes off the curtains which reminded me of cherry blossoms because of the colors. Inside the bathroom there were liquid products by Gilchrist & Soames Zero% attached to the wall. Throughout my travels, I have noticed that hotels have completely dealt away with the mini shampoo, bath soap, and conditioner products that made great travel hygiene additions. Along with those notable things inside of the room, it met my cleanliness standards. I had no issues whatsoever getting comfortable in the king-sized bed during my stay as my head was engulfed in between the comfortable pillows. While utilizing the shower, I really enjoyed the water pressure; its soothing pressure made me feel very cleansed during each usage. It was wonderful toggling with the spray patterns, with the addictive feel of the pressure hitting my face and body. Other things the room came with that I noticed were a comforter, an iron, ironing board, blow dryer, safe, comforter, a coffee maker (Hamilton Beach), a mini refrigerator, microwave, and USB and AC plugins attached to either the headboard of the bed, lamps, or the television cabinet, which added a nice touch to the room. And the Wi-Fi internet was easy to connect to and not once did I have any connectivity issues with it during my stay. Hampton Inn Majestic, as expected, had an exceptionally beautiful inner interior! As a fitness enthusiast, it was great having a fitness center onsite because it allowed me to keep up with my fitness routines during my stay. I must say that I was pleased to see several dumbbell weights, medicine balls, kettlebells, a decent selection of workout machines, and two peloton fitness bikes which charmed me out of my panties once I spotted them. And oh, honey did I enjoy it on my birthday with the lovely Hannah Frankson as my peloton instructor, who put my legs through torture during her low impact workout. Having the complimentary breakfast was a relief because I did not have to worry about finding a restaurant for breakfast in the morning. And I was highly satisfied with the quality of what was presented. It is served daily from 6:00 AM - 10:00 AM. For you all visiting the city of Chicago, there are plentiful sights, activities, and restaurants within a radius of Hampton Inn Majestic. As a resident, a few that I adore are Willis Tower, Millennium Park, and the Art Institute of Chicago! Next door is the CIBC Theatre, which I noticed upon my initial arrival at the hotel. And if you are looking to explore the city or outer part of the city, the Chicago Union Station, and CTA Train Station are very accessible to-and-from. I would surely book Hampton Inn Majestic Chicago Theatre District again due to my experience with it because the hotel met my comfort needs, and I loved that its location is within an accessible distance of things of interest in downtown Chicago. ~ Live every moment ~ Thomas G

Hampton Inn majestic will let you relive the Chicago fire!!!…read more Was not a fan of their elevators since they kept jumping from levels 6 and 7 and would randomly stop without being called. The last Hampton inn I got stuck in the elavator and had an off experience with getting help, so I chose to use the stairs. Upon using the stairs we were met with SEVERAL linen boxes blocking our only exit. They were all in different directions and could not be easily rolled out, especially when we were blocked behind them. Instead we had to parkour over it to escape. There was a valet driver sitting at the front and ignored us after I asked for help and continued to say she's just valet she can't do anything. These bins were there for well over an acceptable time, blocking the only stairs and fire safety exit but also for people that didn't enjoy their sketchy elevators. And again, pallets were there days later also blocking the ONLY emergency exit and stairwell exit. Completely unacceptable in a normal city let alone one with history of building fires. Exits should not be blocked and it's clear the building uses this space for "storage" often. Before the fire situation even happened, their breakfast situation was insane. Our first morning was on a Monday. Their service is until 10 am and around 9am we headed down for some fuel. By that time, the dining room was packed, the tiny buffet room was empty of food but packed with people who were waiting for tables, chairs and all of the food to be restocked. One woman was trying to run the whole operation while two men just stood behind the concierge desk and watched the shit show of breakfast service happen in front of them. Someone should have helped her get breakfast together. Even if it wasn't their job, in hospitality, their job as hotel manger or anyone who works in the hotel is to make sure the guest have a pleasant stay, not to look pretty sitting in front of the Hampton inn welcome to Chicago sign. Overall unorganized and not something nice to look at when you first walk into a hotel lobby, chaos. You would think the grievances would stop there. However we were then denied the benefits that we get as gold Hilton members. Previously at hiltons and Hilton branches we have been offered two bottles of water per room per day. Most of the time they would be offered upon check in (which they did not) and given daily throughout our stay. This time the concierge allowed my mom just to go grab them out of the fridge. The next day we did the same and the concierge Robyn gave me immediate backlash even after I said we were previously allowed to take them. She repeatedly said I was wrong and gave no hospitality to hear my side of the story. I didn't want to cause a scene and returned my water. She then slammed them onto our table as I was eating breakfast with my family. Definitely could have been better ways for her to deal with the problem and I did not appreciate the hostility coming from the concierge at 9 am. We were already all crammed at a small table because there are no seating arrangements easily accessible for families or even enough seats in the dining room. One star because housekeeping did great and my room was clean and refreshed when necessary (and because zero is not an option) Otherwise I would hope I never have to stay here again.

The staff were somewhat friendly until different things started to come up... 1st issue: Friday night the elevators completely stopped working. Big problem due to having a small infant and needing to get the stroller down. We were staying on the 10th floor. But an even bigger problem was that we started to notice floods of people come on our floor and notify us that there was not an exit even via the stairs!!!! My husband got on the phone with the front desk and the reply was "you are just going to have to wait for the elevator." This was completely unacceptable and UNSAFE- what if there was a fire? What if something dangerous was happening and we couldn't get out of the building? This itself would have landed this hotel at a 1-2 rating. The elevator issue didn't fill resolve itself for our whole stay- only 2/3 were in service and they took 5-10 minutes to show up each time. Seriously inconvenient. 2nd issue: they put one of our rooms (we had 3 groups) literally next to the pool. Kids were screaming their heads off beginning at 6:30am and it would carry on until 10pm. When SIL called down to the front desk she was told "sorry that's just how it is and it should quiet down soon." Again, completely unacceptable. We had young children and infants who needed to nap and go to bed early. 3rd issue: we asked for a late check out since our flight was later and we needed to get our baby to take a nap- after all of these issues they said they would extend it to 1:00, which was nice. We did then ask if it could be extended another hour and we were told it would cost $25. Fine... what was not fine was when there was banging on our door and someone walked in at 1:25pm to clean the room. It woke up our baby and completely defeated the purpose of us extending our late check out and paying the extra $25. 4th issue: apparently they don't clean the rooms unless you are staying for 3 or more nights? We didn't know about this and assumed we would get new towels since there is a sign in the bathroom saying "hang towels to reuse" or "if you would like new ones, place them on the floor". We needed new towels so we followed what it said and then were told our rooms wouldn't be cleaned or even checked to see if we needed new towels. Good things I will say: - very convenient area - provided a pack n play - Starbucks in the hotel - hotel room was clean Would have love for this stay to have been better since the Marriott is well known and usually a great place to stay.... but the lack of customer service makes it hard to want to book another room at a Marriott hotel.

A family crisis occurred and I couldn't go on the trips. Hilton didn't give a fig about my situation, they foreclosed my time share and refused to grant me the trips I had purchased. Hilton are scammers with business suits and a glitzy facade. How can you foreclose what I had totally paid for, and refused to grant my trips I guess I was supposed to leave my sick disabled mother and go take vacations. They didn't try to work with me. After a presentation by mannequin looking sales representatives with plastic smiles for 2 boring hours. We were led basically to what was a bull pen and sent sales representatives out who practically hunted you down and said please just listen to our package deals. I tried to say no, and when I asked for the way out they hedged and started the pitch with me standing there subjected to high-pressure, long sales pitches that they do not take "no" for an answer. My instinct told me not sign the contract but I am like hey maybe I can use a couple of vacation. I was harassed and flat out hustled me. They have all these hidden restrictions, if you call them they bounce you around like a basketball. I was trying to communicate the situation about my mother's illness and they just avoided me. Unfortunately, I found out customer service and experience that you receive at Hilton won't be the same as HGV promotional presentations. HGV's goal is to sell you on the timeshare package and use ANY excuse to renege despite. I used to love Hilton hotels but after this experience I will NEVER PATRONIZE the hotels again, and I advise no one else do so either unless you love your money stolen, and strategic ploys to undermine you and keep your money, they use high maintenance fees and another situation. They keep calling me telling me if I pay 199.00 I could rent my timeshares out for 17,000 to 25,000 because companies were willing to pay. If I don't have a time share why are they constantly call me to rent mine out. Also, why do I have to pay to rent out my timeshare??? IT IS ALL A SCAM to get your hard earned money to benefit thugs in suits getting rich off your money So I kept calling, they only answered when I complained about them to BBB. And I was told rather coldly, I couldn't get my money back nor go on any trips. So just took 2,000 dollars from me because of a situation that was totally unavailable and show no compassion, nor did they try to commit to the "excellent service" they provide. These promotional vacation packages have strict, rules that are not clear and when you try to get an understanding, they shut you down. and just a bunch of malarkey. I also found out Hilton Grand Vacations (HGV) and Hilton hotels are affiliated. They use that HGV program to find more idiots for them to get richer. I don't care if these are two "separate " entities. Hilton allows them to use their name to lure people in. You can not tell me Hilton and HGV are cohorts in crime. If you let scammers use your name it's simple math both entities are scammers. I advise you to avoid both like I said unless you have free money to give away.

The hallways are huge and felt like a maze to navigate but it also added to feeling of privacy. -there were so many high end details that made it extra special (the cozy Frette bath robes, welcome drinks, treat box in the room upon arrival, and the accent lighting in the room). -the location. It's just across the river from the heart of Michigan ave on the north end of a residential development. You don't feel like you are in the middle of the chaos of the city but the park, lake front and river are footsteps away. Negatives: -view was underwhelming ( fourth floor river view . Might choose the park view next time. I'd also recommend not facing the river as there was lots of honking/noise. -the room layout was awkward. They have this huge desk between the bed and tv. The full length mirror is a down a long hallway from bathroom/ where you would be getting dressed. -the room service comes on these huge heavy trays. The staff seemed like they were straining under the weight of it/ it was awkward. -I'd probably skip the spa/massage -$90/ day parking. Was able to do a spothero for about $40 next door.

Strongly recommend staying away from this hotel. Staff is…read moreincredibly rude and tried to get a reservation at the restaurant to which we are currently staying at the St. Regis and they couldn't care less even with our ambassador elite status.
