I can't stop coming to their patio for happy hour for a cheap treat dinner! My favorite things to get are the Sriracha Ranch Tots, Salad (add cheese, no chickpeas,) and the Matrix Burger. For the second time they gave me the Atomic Burger when I ordered the Matrix Burger but luckily I recognized it by sight and caught it before killing my mouth with jalapeños and hot sauce. I explained this to the cook and he quickly swapped my order for the right one. When they omitted the chickpeas from the salad it also omitted the peppers that I do like so I might not order it this way again. The ranch that comes with the salad tastes scratch made, with fresh dill. This time I skipped getting a shake because I should try to be a little healthier and it has lost its novelty. I like that they're playing 00s alt rock (and even a little emo) tonight. I'm making the most of the end of patio weather and just enjoying this big dinner and taking in the ambience. I'll miss doing this once it gets cold!

puppers waiting for their sweet potato treats!

I came here also because I had a deal from the AACHI fundraiser they are doing this month. Ordered the Spicy Salmon toast and the Egg, Bacon, and Sausage toast. Both were amazing and had tons of flavor. The bread is soft and fluffy. I also got a plate with Chicken Kara-age. Not too bad, I personally would stick to the Katsu. The Chicken Kara-age was not as crispy as I would like it. Also got royal milk tea, which was lightly sweetened. This place does get packed, so if you like to try this place, avoid the right before noon crowd or go early morning or later in the afternoon. The restaurant itself is small, but they do have some outdoor tables as well. The hard part about sitting outside is if you order drinks, I don't know if you can hear your name being yelled out while you are outside, so I would suggest having someone inside to grab your drink if you order any or check inside after a while to see if your drinks are ready.

Fabulous! My friend…read moreTiffany told me about Anthem on Rainy Street. Neither of us had been, and also it's been years since we've been on Rainy Street. So we thought we would make a whole night of it. Tiffany did make reservations for us for 7pm and even though this is a bar hopping neighborhood, even at 7pm it was pretty busy. Streets were full of people. Anthem had a vibe. I felt the energy as soon as I waked in. The cozy booths with the U shaped seating with plush green velvet fabric. Wait staff wore Hawaiian shirts. Sitting up behind me on a ledge was the Easter Island statue. Insert (Night At The Museum) here, dumb dumb give me gum gum. Anthem was our first stop tonight. Just drinks and a dinner. I ordered the Peach Fuzzy drink. Not too sweet, refreshing, peachy, and beautiful garnish of a flower. I ordered the Yummy Fries which looked like a salad. Gorgeous presentation. Fries were actually waffle sweet potatoes. Pickled ginger, sesame seeds, furikake, aïoli and a few other wonderful ingredients. Could not get over how beautiful everything looked. Presentation outstanding. Service delightful. Had a wonderful time at Anthem. We both did use the ladies rooms before leaving. Inside the bathroom there is a sign about safety and if you need assistants. I did take a picture of it. On our way out, Brian the manager, said good night to us and waved. We later saw Brian at another place. And I'll write about that in my review for that place as well. Brian, you're Doll, thank you for your hospitality.

During SXSW, there was a pop-up show from Adventure Club and it led me to come checking out the Dainty Dillo for the first time. This space is so laid back and has indoor and outdoor seating. I really loved how they had Electric Jellyfish on tap. There was a food window available and it really helped people to continue to rally and not have to depart for a bite. Parking was a bit limited so I would recommend rideshare (unless I missed an adjacent parking spot). We snagged a low table with foldable chairs and it really felt like we were hanging out at someone's house. I appreciated how there was a mini stage for a dj or small band. Bathrooms were super clean and the space altogether was very well kept. I will definitely be back whenever I'm in town.

Very friendly and I mean genuinely friendly staff from bartenders to door guys. It's like hanging out at a picnic or barbecue with family and friends. Happy hour here is crazy good. I had a mocktail and a cocktail and my tab was a little under twenty bucks. Great selection of cocktails on draft, frozen cocktails, beers, and more. Yee-haw, y'all.

All the food is very good. On our last visit, we had Little Stinker, a delicious mushroom pizza with kale and several cheeses. We also had the beet salad. It was all very good and a lot of food. We brought a couple of slices home. The service was very good. Our waiter was really busy, serving tables inside and outside. He was always attentive and friendly. We also had food brought out by other staff so we were never waiting long. All in all, a very good pizza place. It will be our go-to dinner before shows in the area.

To begin, parking around here can be very difficult if you don't know where to look as there are multiple lots to choose from, although the seemingly nearest is always taken up by cars. There was no wait on a Saturday afternoon. Once you're in, Bambino's is a calm and friendly environment to grab a bite at, featuring simple (and different) slices and sandwiches. You feel pretty welcome and at home in a nice layout with many tables and a bar top right across. The menu is diverse but one thing that sticks out right off the bat is the price. $4.50 for a plain slice? $22 for a footlong sub? Not to mention they tack on an automatic 20% service charge to every bill, which to their credit was mentioned about 3-4 times by the waitress. By the end of eating a $5 pepperoni slice we somehow paid nearly $7. Was it worth it? No. The pizza is decent, nowhere near worth the cost though. The dough is a bit too doughy and the cheese and sauce are alright. The slice is bigger than an average one so we can appreciate that. The best part was the pepperoni mixing in some nice little zip into the mix. For what it's worth, Bambino's is not bad, by any means of that word. However, for what they charge out of a slice in Austin, Texas of all places, you'd expect it to pack a lot more of a punch. Maybe the other food justifies the price, but after spending damn near $7 for one, we think it'll be a while before we give it another shot.

The sound and TVs were all pretty great for watching the game, and they had a ton of space. It was nice having the fake grass and picnic tables in the outdoor areas because it really added to the vibe while still being well shaded throughout. The food was good. During the game we shared the Fried Pickles, which were crispy and well breaded with good pickle chips, as well as their Green Chili Queso, which was also excellent. The chips had good seasoning and the queso was thick. For a main entrée, I ordered the patty melt. It was melty with good flavor, but I would have preferred chopped onions over sliced onions. The Sriracha mayo was great and added a kick I was not expecting. The drinks were decently priced for East 6th all things considered. I was not drinking that night and ordered a mocktail variation of their Lavender Haze using zero proof Empress gin instead of the regular Empress gin. They still charged the same price, which felt a little unfair, but it is what it is. Overall, it was a great experience and a solid bar for games. I could see myself coming back for another event since they handled a large crowd well. Aesthetically, the spot is really nice too, which adds to the positives. Not bad for a last minute decision.
