I love this place! I am a very picky eater and I actually like very many things on the menu here! A little expensive but not terrible! I am also in love with their flavored long island iced teas! Excellent service at the bar. Went during happy hour...had appetizers which were very well prepared...hot and well seasoned spicy shrimp and margarita flat bread! Bar tenders let us sample a new brew we wanted to try. Very attentive. This place is always busy and it is easy to see why. read more

This is one of the busiest Houlihan's, in part due to tourists. The food is consistently good, and the drink selection is decent. Service has been hit or miss, although sometimes this is due to how busy they are. read more

Busy time for dining out. Went to Houlihan's for drinks and appetizers with friends for an after holiday get together. It's a nice, large place that's very popular in the area. Prices are a little high for a small town but it's a chain. The food is OK and service is passable. Too noisy for me to enjoy conversation with my friends. read more

Probably the worst service I've received in a long time. Our waitress didn't bother to address our table for at least ten minutes, and when she finally did acknowledge us, she runs past and yells out 'be with you when I get time!' Clearly, the customer is not a priority here. Waitress was not personable at all when she finally did get to our table, when I tried to order my drink, she tells me that she goes in a clockwise order and she'll get to me eventually. Rude. Our appetizer plates were filthy and when we asked for new plates, we were given an eye roll and the explanation that 'they always look like this.' So it's normal to have food particular stuck on the plate apparently. The food was okay, our waitress did not check on us for at least twenty minutes after getting our food. My boyfriend orders a strawberry daiquiri and when he finally gets it ten minutes later due to only having one blender, there was a lime on the glass and nobody else's daiquiri had a lime. I'm a former server and it was obvious the lime was to mark the glass as N/A. When the waitress finally returned to the table, I informed her there was no liquor in his six dollar drink so she snatches the drink and tells us she'll be right back. Nothing but attitude. We never asked for a second drink to wait on, we wanted it taken off the bill so we could leave but we had to wait for the waitress to come back. Also, I had to ask for the check at least twice. When she came back, I told her I wanted the drink off the bill because we didn't ask for another one, and my boyfriend was too annoyed at that point, so he didn't drink the second daiquiri. She tells me that it's actually impossible for it to have no liquor because it's all a mix that is premixed with liquor then poured into a blender. Which is DISGUSTING and should never be told to a paying customer. So not only did she tell me I was lying about no liquor in the drink, she told me everything is premixed and the bartender didn't make my boyfriends drink up to standard. Overall, it was a pathetic attempt at customer service and my family was very disappointed with the unprofessional and downright bitchy attitude the waitress had from the beginning. I went to this steakhouse tonight. They advertised a barrel cut black angus filet that ended up being a well cut sirloin! Come on people, I know the difference. I spend whatever it cost for a great steak & do not mind paying for it but give me what you advertise. Not only was the steak a false advertisement but even the baked potato was old. I would expect this type of food at a biker bar but not a place that shines the facade of a great restaurant. read more

They say the measure of a restaurant's cleanliness is their restroom: I went into the ladies' room and found it GROSS. There was something sticky splashed on the floor, there was no toilet paper in one of the stalls and the trash was overflowing. I told the hostess and she rolled her eyes and huffed at me. Twenty minutes later someone else from my party found the facilities in the same condition and told the manager. The manager was pleasant but didn't fix it. It was still uncleaned when we left. On our next trip, they managed to screw up a salad three times. We ate in shifts because they either couldn't manage to coordinate our service. I asked for soup as an appetizer and had to sit there while the others had their appetizer, then my soup was served all of two minutes before our entree (which got cold while I was eating my soup). The Ahi Tuna Salad was served with some ingredients missing and the greens were wilted until we could barely find them on the plate. When we sent it back, they came back with a Ceasar Salad with Tuna. Upon informing the waitress that the salad was still wrong, she ARGUED with us! We had to call a manager to get our salad taken back to the kitchen for the second time. Finally, they presented us with a check for the full price. When we complained about that, they took off the salad but gave us no compensation for the rest of the ruined meal. The manager is full of excuses but very low on solutions. The manager did not follow up with us and did not instruct the waitress, either. Bottom line: incompetent kitchen, floor staff has attitude, lazy management. Their prices are way too high to have to fight and struggle for every bite in that way. My money is as good as everyone else's... and I will be spending it elsewhere from now on. read more

My wife and I visited on a Wednesday 6 p.m. day. Although there were many empty tables with nobody waiting, we were told it would be a 20 minute wait. Noticing 2 openings at the bar, we immediately sat down after learning we could order the same meal as in the dining area. The service was very attentive and we alerted that it was Happy Hour. Are drinks were very good and the appetizer's-especially the chicken and spinach egg rolls-really made the trip worthwhile. We also enjoyed speaking with others at the bar and we reccomend that if you've never eaten at this bar-give it a try. read more

Stumbled upon this place after a long day of driving around Pennsylvania in the Hershey Press Building. It's a normal chain restaurant with cool table coasters and really great soups. My boyfriend ordered French Onion and I had the Loaded Baked Potato Soup and we both really enjoyed our meals. I would definitely come back ! This was my first time at Houlihans. I've heard many great reviews from family and friends about the place so I decided to give it a try. We came on a Tuesday evening for my fiances birthday. Despite having trouble finding somewhere to park, the place was fairly empty and we didn't have to wait to be seated. Waitress was rude and short and cold. Seemed like she didn't want to be there. She spent her time (when she wasn't waiting on the two tables she was responsible for) chit chatting with the bartenders. Since the bar was right next to our table every time we called her over she rolled her eyes. Like it was SO rude of me to disrupt her conversation with the bartender while she was supposed to be working. Food was pretty good, except the description in the menu isn't very detailed. Ordered a side of rice with my entree. Details of the rice on the menu included brown rice with pineapples. When it was served to me, there were thinly sliced carrots, chunks of onions and something else that was green. I wish they would of included that these extras are included in the rice recipe, because I am allergic to onions. I asked the waitress to bring me a different side, since the rice included onions. I explained my food allergy to her. She seemed annoyed and looked at me like I had 3 heads when I asked for a different side. Showed no remorse and wasn't apologetic when I told her of my food allergy. Took about 10 minutes to bring me another side dish, by that time I was almost finished my meal. The side she brought out was freezing cold. Since she had made it seem like I already asked too much of her I wasn't going to tell her of my cold food. Atmosphere is nice. And other than the second side dish issue, the food was brought to us quickly. Portions in my opinion weren't necessarily "small" but definitely could have been a little but bigger. All in all, I wasn't pleased with this visit. But I'm willing to give Houlihans another chance. read more

Don't eat here unless you want wood in your salad. My family and I had lunch there today and as I was enjoying my salad i almost chocked on a piece of wood. I was eating my salad and felt something hard as I was chewing, tried to swallow it and then eventually since it could not be broken apart I spit it out. Come to discover it was a piece of wood. I showed my family and then called over the waitress, she felt it and confirmed that it was wood. She rushed to get he manager. The manager came over and said " I was told to come to your table" I explained to her what happened and all she could say was "oh I'm sorry it must have gotten mixed with the nuts that go on your salad." Um do you not clean the nuts before you put them on anything? Or even more why would there be a piece of wood in the nuts? I didn't bother asking any more questions because she clearly didn't care and I was shaking because I had just swallowed wood. This is outrages. Maybe the Department of Agriculture should check this place out, who knows what else is happening in the kitchen. read more

Ordinarily Houlihan's is top notch. Sunday 10/26 we went for a special birthay celebration. 10 minutes after being seated a server dropped a stack of plates she was cleaning from another table, spraying salsa over our whole table of ten. It coated my wife, our table and was in our hair, drinks, clothes, etc. The server grabbed some towels, briefly apologized and disappeared leaving us and our server to clean the table. Our server Kent was outstanding, and went above and beyond. The manager howevery did not come until Kent specifilly called the incident to her attention. She looked at us from the kitchen and rolled her eyes. She then put on a big smile and came over after everything was cleaned and said, "Do we have everyone cleaned up?" I said yes and thanked her. Then asked why Kent our server was having to clean everything? Why was he the only one to make sure we were ok? She said, "I don't know where she (the server who had the accident) is, perhaps she is embarrassed . But sometimes you have to take one for the team." I said, "I understand teamwork, but I was a server before and if we made a mess we owned it with the customer and made sure it was cleaned." (Not to mention made sure the manager was available to them - and mine was not a "high end" restaurant) The manager said she would talk with her and then never came back, in fact she avoided us. Kent continued to be outstanding and brought spinach dip as a peace offering. We were not disgruntled, but gratefully accepted the offer. What was most disappointing was the clear gap in leadership, and only our server cared about our experience. We also had the poorest quality food we ever had in this experience - one hour until our food arrived, then burnt vegetables, under done roast beef, missed parts of orders....and still no manager. Sadly our worst experience at a usually top notch place. Kent however is a rock star. read more
