VINNY SAVES THE DAY WITH GREAT SERVICE!!!! My family and I celebrated my mothers birthday yesterday, March 14th. We had a large group of 15. The waitress, Kate, did all that she could to help us, but was a bit overwhelmed and my aunt was totally rude to her. Additionally, I think Kate was having a bad day already. It was turning into a bad and uncomfortable situation. Luckily, a manager named Vinny Solazzo, stepped in and saved the day. He took charge and was extremely patient and accommodating . Solid chain with a good variety of food (less with covid) and lots of calorie goodness: 4 usually, 3.5 this time I've been coming here for years. Recently, while the menu has decreased on options with the pandemic and staff seem to have to do a lot, it is still a good option. We came here on a holiday weekday for a late lunch. The fish and chips and fish tacos were good though I wished the fish wasn't so fried and was coated a little more delicately. The server was fine except seemed a little distracted at times and we had to catch her attention a few times because she was all over the floor. There was a small item wrong with my order but they brought out the correct side after being told. They have a pretty good deal for $20.99 for three courses especially since the main dish will run you at least $15-17. Other chains seem to have bigger issues with staffing shortages which results in longer waits and cleanliness issues but houlihans seems to handle it a little better...or we got a little lucky! read more

We visited restaurant for lunch. There is a good variety of appetizers, salads and entrees so finding a dish to eat is quite easy. I had Chicken Tortilla soup as my starter. This is one of my favorite soups to order at the restaurants, but I'm also very particular about it - I prefer the clear broth based soup, not the creamy one. This was a clear broth, and it was perfectly seasoned so I almost ended up licking the cup - delicious. My main dish was "big salad" with pecan-encrusted chicken. Stopped in for dinner and we always enjoy this location. It has plenty of parking, adjacent to Rt. 17, and the interior is well kept. If your seated at or near the bar, you will be able to view various programs on their wall mounted televisions. We ordered both the alcoholic and non-alcoholic Margaritas and they were both VERY GOOD. Dining during Happy Hour also helps and they have a good selection of items during those hours. Our baby back rib appetizer was tasty. The orange rub went well with the flavoring. Our entrees were palatable, as always, and very much enjoyed. The only thing that I noticed is, that the Tuscany Lemon Chicken's is a smaller portion. Before, it was served in an oblong plate, that took up half of the table, and large enough to satisfy half of Ramsey. Now, well..... the picture will show the difference. Had a group of 10, all former colleagues, made a reservation and upon arrival was given a private room (Tues Eve)! Our group loved having space all to ourselves. Our waitress was very attentive, even though she had other tables. The food was good, some entrees were a shrimp salad special, pot roast, lemon chicken, scallops and Caesar salad. Everyone seemed to enjoy their dinner. The drinks were also nice. We will definitely come back, especially for the private room space. First, the server Maria is awesome. We do not frequent this restaurant often (last time was a month ago) and she remember us! She also remembered what we ordered! The firecracker cauliflower app is insane. Even if I wind up on the toilet the next day, it is so worth it! The pretzel is pretty good, was slightly overcooked. My wife and I split the French Dip sandwich...which we did last time. It's the perfect portion (for two, considering the appetizers). We will continue to go back, and consistently look to have Maria as a server. She is great! Overall, the food is consistent and service is excellent. Tonight were two firsts for me.... I love when chain restaurant are inventive, since I know the dish is being shared with their other chains, after its gone thru rigorous testing. A totally different story tonight. I decided to try the Crispy Chicken Thai Noodle Bowl - However, what enticed me was the vegetarian version made with Crispy Cauliflower! Who ever said 'yes' to going ahead and adding that to the menu? The cauliflower was covered in sesame seeds and was not crispy at all. In fact, it felt much like I was eating gritty/mushy sand encrusted Cauliflower! Where was the taste of the Cauliflower ?? Additionally, the dish had lots of mushrooms... I wish it was part of the description on their menu, as I would have asked for it to be omitted. The carrots in the dish, were also under cooked - oh, now that I am thinking about it - THAT was the 'CRISPY' in the dish - not the cauliflower! The waitress never came over to see if everything was okay after entrees were served... However,The floor manager came around asking if everything was okay, my reply..."ehhhh"... then walked away! My dish wasn't great and had a strange after taste. Needless to say, it was not finished. My guest ordered onion soup as an appetizer, the cheese was on the bottom of the dish instead of on top. The cheese should have been put on top then placed under the broiler to get a crispy brown topping on the cheese. No dessert, but when the bill arrived, the price was for the soup was incorrect. It took a while to get the server to correct it What also also always gets me upset is restaurants depending not on wait staff firing a table, but automatic timing. My guest was still eating his soup when the entrees came out... Trying to turn the table?? I have come here for the late night happy hour but this was the first time eating here. We were seated right away, but next time I will definitely avoid this table because it's right next to the kitchen and they use this obnoxious microphone system to call out orders in the kitchen. Our server was really nice and worked quickly. We ordered the prime rib as well as the spinach dip. The spinach dip was ok, but not hot enough for my husband. After we got the dip our server came back and told us that they had run out of rib. We were considering going elsewhere but then my husband ended up getting a steak and I ordered French dip. My husband said his steak was surprisingly good as well as the sides and you can't go wrong with a French dip. One of the managers stopped by our table to apologize about the prime rib which I thought was nice. He also recommended calling ahead if we wanted prime rib so that they would save us a portion. Like all places that have been around a while this Houlihan's location has had its ups and downs. Recently it has been all ups. Servers have been on top of everything which I find to be the biggest issue with any place. The food has been great too. No more chintzy bacon and dried out cheese on my loaded fries. The chicken tenders are not odd shaped scrawny arthritic looking phalanges. The specials, while they could change them up more for frequent fliers as myself, are always a delight to try. Not all winners, but never true losers like a thin crust cracker at domino. Today we had the best server, Emily,as well as great pot roast. She was attentive and not overbearing like a mother in law watching you make pop tarts for your kids. Emily was fun to chat with and was more like visiting your friend's house than being at her place of work. The best thing about this Houlihan's over all the others is you never have to sit on top of other people you are spaced enough apart you do not feel uncomfortable talking or having food on your face. They did have one great host the rest seemed overwhelmed with the take out. But they will still get you to a seat so you can really enjoy the rest of the night. read more

We live a mile away and on Monday's when Eilene is the BAR waitress, we enjoy having dinner there. She is the ideal waitress at the bar, great personality and makes sure your order comes out hot and exactly what your wanted.
