Our waitress was attentive and quick, but that's not every time we go. The food this night was okay ... Beware that the prices of meals in Houlihan"s has gone up ... After eating at Houlihan's in Ramsey, and having such awful food, I will never go back. It use to be good and now it's poor quality food at high prices. I had the chicken Caesar salad, which was disgusting because the chicken tasted like it was cooked weeks ago as it was all dried up and not even warm. The romaine lettuce was fresh, but who cares when you're eating horrible chicken on it. My friend had a cheeseburger which was a frozen patty and was mediocre at best, especially when there are so many good burger, places around . Looking around at what other people were eating pretty much turned us off as nothing looked appetizing, except for a woman eating a steak with a baked potato . The surroundings were dark, tired and dirty looking and I believe it it'll only be a matter of time before this place closes. I was surprised it wasn't more busy on a Saturday night. We couldn't say more about how happy we were with the food, atmosphere and especially, the service provided by the manager, Sebastian, our server Lisa. Dining out with small children is often challenging for both parents and wait staff, but Lisa could not have made it easier. Last Saturday I ordered the Ahi Tuna appetizer and I had a server Emily, and she was kind at first and then once I requested another drink she got nasty wi the me and then I overheard her make a comment to the other server that she wanted to spit in my food. I got my food and afterwards didn't even up eating it because it looked like my food was manipulated. I wanted to try this restaurant so bad and was told awful things about the one particular server I got but decided to check it out anyway to give the place the benefit of the doubt. Guy offered us ginger ale and then we go in and the staff says they don't even carry ginger ale. Had a great time at Houlihan'a with very friendly service from Andrew and Sophie. We ordered the nachos as an appetizer which were so delicious. Then ordered a couple sandwiches. The buffalo chicken sandwich tasted amazing but is not for small hands lol. Took all the fries and the turkey sandwich home for leftovers. I'm sure they'll be great! My boyfriend and I love Houlihan's Ramsey. We always sit in the bar area - high top tables. The ambiance is very welcoming. The servers are warm and friendly. We have become friendly with a couple of them, namely, Tania and Trish. Both ladies take very good care of us, we feel right at home. I love the heartland grilled chicken salad. My boyfriend varies with his orders, and never seems to be disappointed. We look forward to many more meals at Houlihan's Ramsey. read more

I'm not one to write bad reviews or complain but this was a first. I came to the Ramsey Houlihan location on a Wednesday with my girlfriend as it's a local go-to spot that we've been to dozens of times. My girlfriend and I ordered one drink and we were asked for our IDs. No problem with that; I used to work at a liquor store, I get it. Except for the fact the waitress walked away with our IDs which was uncomfortable for people to have our IDs with our info in this day and age. After 10 minutes, the newly hired waitress came back and accused me of giving a fake ID when I'm actually over 10+ years of the legal drinking age. I'm sorry but don't restaurants have technology or knowledge to check for a fake ID? I had to provide a second form of ID with my birth date after being told they won't serve me and "won't confiscate my ID". We asked to speak with the manager. The manager came over, looked at me, and said "you're good"; without apologizing. We were dumbfounded. Nothing against the waitress however. I've never been accused of having a "fake looking ID" in all my years of going out to bars in NYC or Hoboken, but Houlihan's is the place that's going to accuse a man in his 30s that he's underage providing a fake ID. Anyway, 2 stars for the good drink and okay food. Likely won't return to this location, unfortunately. read more

We enjoy coming here for family dinners. The food is consistently very good. But the best part is our food server, ARMANDO(Mandy). In fact, we like Mandy so much that I call the restaurant ahead of time to make sure he is there. He is friendly & attentive. He anticipates our needs. Variety of great food options was important to a large diverse group of people. Dedicated room provided a great environment for our festivities.... Throughout those years, Vicki provided great service, managing everybody's orders flawlessly, and diligently ensured that all food & beverage needs were fulfilled. This used to be a favorite place but as I just ordered my birthday meal to go I am very disappointed. We've ordered fish and chips many times here in the past. The birthday deal was a buy one entree get one free but this looked like they just split one entree on two plates. Very disappointing. Our sever was attentive and friendly and so was the young man who seated us. the food was excellent. I remember it being just bar food quality but it was really good restaurant quality food.
