Impeccable service. Every staff member went above and beyond in every way possible. What's even more impressive is that all that came off natural, organic, and effortless. Kudos for creating such welcoming and truly comfortable environment. Perfect balance between receiving attention and getting enough space to enjoy our experience. We never felt rushed for a minute, even as we closed the restaurant on a weekday night. Indoor and outdoor seating available. You might be lucky without reservations if you walk in on a weeknight, like we did. For busy times, make reservations, as the restaurant is definitely the nicest on in the touristy area of Pompano Beach. Dress up and enjoy the chic, elevated ambiance that makes you feel like royalty on vacation. All the cocktails were refreshing and strong. Very delicious: we tried all the most popular ones, and definitely enjoyed the craftsmanship that went into them. All the food was amazing and I definitely want to return to try more. Portions were massive, so come hungry! Half a Chicken in apricot glaze with tabouleh was divine, tender, and flavorful. Not your ol' rotisserie chicken. Such healthy dish too--you can enjoy without guilt. BBQ ribs were tasty too: fall off the bone, solid option. Thin fries were so light and non greasy, which I really appreciated. The coleslaw was a delicious crunchy treat. Would gladly return to try more on the menu and enjoy the atmosphere during the day!

An overall terrific experience. The staff is attentive and the food is terrific. I wish I knew when the artichoke season was happening because I was looking forward to that appetizer! The shrimp cocktail was terrific, the salads were perfectly seasoned and crunchy. My only slight annoyance was that the old fashioned came with a handful of crushed ice instead of a large I it's possibly the first steakhouse I've ever been to that does not have a larger ice cube. If anyone from Houston's is reading this, work on that! Complimentary valet, nice bathrooms, beautiful ambiance... Overall top notch place.

I just flew back to S. Florida and the first stop after dropping off the luggage was Houston's in Pompano Beach. Again, day or night, this restaurant is excellent. Alex was my server and she was "Houston's perfect". I can't say enough about the laid back yet upscale vibe they've created here. It's never pretentious but it's always elevated. That is the same description I would give the food, too. I had the fish sandwich again and it's just phenomenal. The fish is light and yet crispy. The house made bun is fluffy and delicious and their coleslaw is the best - creamy, crunchy and divine.

Houston's is a must whenever you can find one! The dark mahogany wood interior and beamed ceilings make for an amazing dining room. Then to order... Ribs and Salads are the reason folks come here, topped with great customer service, unique and amazing drinks from the bar and fabulous desserts It's clearly a "10" in all aspects and we frequently visit this location several times when we're in the area Do yourself a favor and make reservations and go... You will be glad you did!! Bon Appetite!!

It has been years, more than 9, since I ate at this Houston's, and they did not disappoint. I am used to eating at their Boca Raton location, about 10 minutes from our home. Returning home from an appointment in Ft. Lauderdale, we decided to stop here for an early lunch - 11:30 -- and to dine on their terrace, adjacent to the intracoastal. By 12:30, every table outside was occupied, and it was great to not have to wait for a table. Our server was Brooke, and she was outstanding. While formal in her demeanor, she was able to and did smile on many occasions. We received our Perriers icy cold and cappuccino very hot, as requested, and the food runners were efficient. My husband had the crispy chicken sandwich with well done fries, and it was humongous, and equally as tasty. Could only eat one half, and took the rest home. I had the veggie burger, and honestly, cannot recall the last time I had eaten one. To my surprise, it was delicious, and also huge. We started with their jumbo shrimp cocktail with home made sauces. The plate, with 5 very large shrimp, was delicious. Just cold enough, looking as fresh as one would want, and at $25, was well priced. The only problem for a serving of 5 shrimp between two people - - who gets the 5th one? Well, couples who share stay together longer, so that 5th shrimp was divided between us. It was served on top of butter lettuce, and I ate every piece, dipping in the sauces. Valet parking, no charge, as well as self parking. While many people include in their reviews that this is part of a chain, I don't see that as a negative. They give you a consistently well prepared meal, with ingredients fresh and prepared well. Servers are well trained, clean-looking (no one sweating into your food), so what's the big deal that this is a chain establishment. Will I return? Of course.

My boyfriend and I recently dined here and were blown away. I have been hearing of Houston's / Hillstone for so long and needed to know if it was worth the hype. We had a Friday night reservation. There is complementary valet. When we arrived we just had to wait a few minutes to be seated. The place was packed! I highly recommend making a reservation. The space is large, but dimly lit which created a nice vibe. To start, we obviously started with the spinach and artichoke dip, which truly lived up to the hype. We doubted the amount of chips at first but it ended up being the perfect amount. Our server even offered extra chips but we declined. My boyfriend and I both chose the same entree which was the Hawaiian ribeye. The steak was cooked perfectly medium. It was buttery, delicious melt in your mouth perfection. The fries served with were light and crispy. For drinks, we got the jackrabbit, made with reposado tequila, Campari, grapefruit juice & mint, which we both really enjoyed. The service was fantastic & appropriately attentive. Overall 10/10 will return for sure!!

Delicious! Houston's is always a great spot! We sat outside with a nice view of the water. Our waitress was extremely attentive, gave great recommendations and made sure our drinks were never empty. The food is always delicious and never fails. The shrimp cocktail came with huge shrimp and were very fresh. Drinks were cold and refreshing. Overall great experience and always love visiting Houston's when in the area

We had a lunch reservation at Houston's and arrived with our family, including our 5-month-old baby. We were shocked to be told that they "do not allow strollers" anywhere inside or outside the restaurant. Our baby cannot sit on his own yet, so a stroller is absolutely necessary. We even tried to compromise and asked if we could sit in the bar area instead, but they still declined to accommodate us. As a result, we were completely turned away despite having a reservation. This restaurant is clearly not kid-friendly, and the lack of flexibility or empathy from the staff was extremely disappointing. Customer service like this is unacceptable, especially for families with infants. We won't be returning.

If you want fresh salads, great food and the epitome of service go to Houston's ... and a lovely view. We had chicken caesar and grilled chicken salads....amazing! If you haven't tried this restaurant, you owe it to yourself.

Ever since we moved to Pompano, we go to Houston's to celebrate our anniversary or birthday. We love coming here and sitting by the water at night, it's a very peaceful ambience. The food is great & the service is excellent. We always order the spinach/artichoke dip, it's our go-to starter & occasionally the oysters. For meals, we juggle between the sashimi tuna salad, cheese burger, jumbo lump crab cakes, salmon or the prime filet. All great - but we usually tend to get full with appetizers alone and always take food to go. So becareful when ordering too much. The creamed corn is also a favorite side we usually gravitate towards to. But most importantly for desert - always go for the hot fudge Sunday! It's a 10/10 all by itself! Overall, it's a nice dining experience. We also have a reservation just incase, it can fill up pretty quickly!

    Naomi S.

We had an excellent dinner. My husband had the Sashimi Tuna Salad and I had The Hawaiian. Had I paid attention to how much it cost, I probably wouldn't have ordered it but I will say that the steak was very tender and flavorful. You can sit inside or outside and watch the boats go by. We chose to sit inside because it was a little chilly on the night we went. Service was phenomenal and our meal was delicious! The waitstaff were constantly walking by and would refill our beverages. I loved that they did that!

This place is awesome! We sat at the outside bar on the ICW for lunch. The views of the River and boats going by make sitting outside a must. I mean why would you sit inside here unless the weather was horrible? I had the shaved rib eye French dip and it was excellent. Plenty of shaved meat and delicious soft bread with a side of fries. The au jus was not the least bit salty and there was plenty of horse radish dip lip, fry sauce and ketchup included. No need to even ask for it. Love that. The service at the bar was spot on. My ice tea was backed up by a full glass before I ever hit the bottom. Lindsey, the bar keep, was attentive and engaging. I never once had to ask for anything. Her anticipation and attentiveness was completely on task. Price wise this place is expensive as one should expect with the water front location. Parking is easy and there is valet available but the walk from the lot is a breeze. Great place, great views, great service and my lunch was a 10. Definitely recommend

Houston's Restaurant Reviews in Other Languages

Ask the Community - Houston's Restaurant

    Is There a Houston's in Houston,Tx?

Lol, I have no idea, but I think not...50 50 chance I'm right, like weather forecast. Lol

What is the dress code to eat there, specifically if wanting to eat outside?

I would suggest smart casual as the best route. From their website. "Attire Standards: We consider hats, tank tops, flip flops, and team athletic attire too casual for our restaurant." They do have further guidelines posted as well.

Do you need to have a reservation to eat outside?

    No.

Do they allow service dogs? I can't eat without my hound dog

I've seen dogs on the outside seating area. I'm sure a service dog would be ok.

    No highchairs here?

Hi D L., we do not provide highchairs, but you are welcome to bring your own booster seat to the restaurant.

Why did they stop allowing boats to pull up to the dock?

Too many people were entering the restaurant in bathing suits and dock attire which isn't what that Houston's restaurant was looking for. It is more upscale attire than what most people wear while relaxing on a boat all day.

Our waitress was pleasant, attentive, and made us feel right at home, which always enhances the dining experience. Although we weren't extremely hungry, the menu had so many appealing options that we decided to sample a few items. We started with the Caribbean Tea shots, which were unique, refreshing, and surprisingly enjoyable. For drinks, we ordered a Malbec and a Peanut Butter Old Fashioned. Our first entrée was the Churrasco Frites, featuring marinated skirt steak topped with chimichurri and served with twister fries. The steak was cooked perfectly, tender and flavorful, but those fries were the true star of the dish. Still wanting more, we ordered the Garlic Parmesan Twice Cooked Wings. They were nicely prepared and satisfying, though I would have enjoyed a stronger garlic flavor. Not quite finished, we moved on to the Oaxaca Burger, an 8 ounce burger stacked with onion rings, bacon jam, house BBQ sauce, and Oaxaca cheese. This was one of the best burgers I've ever had, and possibly the best. The bun was toasted yet soft, the burger was seasoned perfectly, and it was cooked to a juicy medium temperature. I would definitely recommend this restaurant and look forward to returning.

The restaurant is located in Pompano Beach with both street parking and several nearby parking lots, which made parking fairly easy. That said, the surrounding area felt a little sketchy, and as a woman, I personally wouldn't feel comfortable walking around alone at night. The restaurant itself is cute, casual, and inviting, with both indoor and outdoor seating. The event was held outside, where DJs kept the crowd entertained with a great mix of hip-hop, R&B, and old-school classics. The music was definitely one of the highlights of the night. Because the humidity was unbearable, even after the sun went down, I chose to sit inside for dinner before heading out to enjoy the event. Unfortunately, the service wasn't great. I understand they were likely busier than usual because of the event, but our waiter wasn't very attentive. He told us to flag him down if we needed anything, which isn't exactly what you expect when dining out. Our drinks took about 20 minutes to arrive, and although we were told the bar was backed up, they ended up tasting mostly like juice with very little alcohol. For appetizers, we ordered the crab beignets. They were just okay, but the mustard dipping sauce was actually really delicious and probably my favorite part of the dish. My friend ordered the fried chicken sandwich, and I had the shrimp Caesar salad. The salad came with much more dressing than I prefer, making it a bit overwhelming. My friend thought her sandwich was decent, but unfortunately it didn't sit well with her stomach the following day. After dinner, we headed outside to enjoy the party. The outdoor deck is built around a beautiful tree and offers plenty of seating, along with a separate outdoor bar, which created a fun atmosphere. One thing that stood out, though, was how slippery the deck was. At first I thought it might have been my shoes, but after hearing several other people mention the same thing, it seemed like I wasn't the only one who noticed. Overall, the entertainment and outdoor atmosphere were enjoyable, but I wouldn't return for dinner. The menu is fairly limited, and with fewer options, I expected each dish to really stand out. Unfortunately, the food and service just didn't live up to those expectations. If you're looking for good music and a fun Saturday night vibe, the event is worth checking out, but I wouldn't go for the dining experience alone.

** Classic Vacation Spot! Great Drinks & Killer Blackened Chicken**…read more First official lunch stop of our Florida trip is in the books, and **Legends** absolutely delivered! We managed to slide in just in time for happy hour, so the wife kicked things off right with a great cocktail. To keep the kids happy while we looked over the menu, we started with the mozzarella sticks and corn dog poppers. Both were total crowd-pleasers--crispy, melty, and didn't last long on the table. For the mains, the family spread was a massive success. The kids went with the classics: a juicy cheeseburger with golden fries, and crispy chicken tenders with perfectly fried tater tots. Both got total nods of approval. The wife and I went the salad route, ordering the Cobb salad and the Caesar salad, both topped with blackened chicken. Let me tell you, that blackened seasoning is the real deal here! It gave both salads a smoky, savory punch that elevated the whole meal. At the end of the day, Legends serves up **classic bar food done absolutely right**. The vibe is fun, the food is unpretentious and delicious, and the service was on point. It's a fantastic, reliable spot that I'd highly recommend to anyone in the area. We will definitely be back on future visits!

BELIEVE THE HYPE! The food is absolutely wonderful. The service is great and the restaurant is…read moresmall but cute. Our favorites were the catch of the day shrimp, Cajun fries, Korean barbecue meatballs and Philly cheesesteak. The garlic parm fries were decent and we didn't care for the steak pieces. 10/10 would recommend overall.

Well, we really wanted to try this place. Photos and review didn't live up to the hype for us. We…read moreare not vegan, but we wanted to give it a go for a break in our routine! So we went at 7pm on a Wednesday. What's playing on TV was not available, was told to use QR code, so easy peasy. So the counter staff was pleasantly, we ordered: rabbit hole salad and the patty melt to go. Maybe should be eaten there, right away. Didn't stand up to a quick ride home. BOTH meals looked sad and not worth $50, as was $20 each, gave $3 tip for to go. Probably won't return! It's probably great for vegans who don't require quality or taste, just gut it out to remain vegan. Salad had no flavor really, it was " overdressed", just kale dressed in an underwhelming sauce. Tons of it where it was soggy. Chips of fake chicken I guess, that was flavorless. Partners patty melt was just so so. I'm sad! You ever wanted to really like something, so you force it. We love going to local spots to support folks but we demand excellence. I wasn't expecting Coopers HAWK, but wanted some flavor. It's like not even as good as Whole Foods, which is pricey like this but good. Patty melt was average, and not worth $20. The onions saved it, but too expensive for us. Fries were limp, not well made. Now I will say, we do go to dives, so we didn't need Sonness (by the way Sonness is beyond fab!). So, we can do " dive vegan" but we cant do expensive average. It survives because often the beach crowds are too tipsy or high to care, or average is OK due to being snowbirds. Im sure these reviews aren't fake, so will chop this up to a bad night for the cooks! Stop by if you are vegan, committed to this lifestyle, then its good enough. We are in good shape medically, have more allegiance to our wallet than a movement. My partner makes great, fresh salads, so I can stay home for below average greens. But if you are committed and need to just get out, try it. I think a vegan frozen meal, Amy's is better. The salad wasn't horrible, just not worth the price. $20 for soggy, no flavor. Nope! I need flavor, price, freshness mix. Also they could do better with the ambiance. When you walk up, it seemed sad. It was empty, but zero personality. They need some music, it was quiet, somewhat moodless! Even dives have a little music. Rabbits have music LOL! Wish them luck! They have been around a while, so maybe they had better days! Why show stuff on TV that's not offered, pretty photos but disappointing for us. Good news, they are surrounded by great things, Italian to the right, Max to the left, pizza to the left. And Foundry at the end of other side! Partner ate half burger, trashed it. I ate 1/4 salad, trash. $50 in the garbage. I gotta laugh as we sat in our couch, we walked in and after 10 min, the energy felt off to me. We read the menu first. I said to my mate, "let's go elsewhere" after staff said, don't have this or that. My mate said, lets see. I went along. Intuition is never wrong! Trust yout gut, give it a try! Maybe tonight was just an off night! Go try it! Maybe it will be better for you! Im sure those reviews are real but maybe that real cook was off, amd we ended up with the no talent crew!
