Damn, This Place is really FIRE. I went for the Lobster Burrito, and my girl went for the Pepperdine Burrito. I also bought me one of those fruit cocktail drinks, since she would be driving us back home lol. She does not drink very much. Place has a nice outdoor beach setting. Lobster burrito is freshly made with lobster from the sea. Lots of different flavors and sauces. Portions are huge here too. Awesome menu options. People that work here are awesome. I love stopping here after a morning hike in Malibu. Convenient location with good parking but I think there's valet starting at a certain time. The breakfast burrito is what I've eaten twice there already. I love the salsa that it comes with. We were on the way to the beach and stopped by this plaza to charge our car. We originally wanted to go to Broad Street Oyster Company but the wait was too crazy and decided to stop by Howdy's instead. Judging by the name and logo, I thought it would be more of an I-hop style place but it's actually Mexican-Californian seafood-Asian fusion. Items on the menu included sushi burritos, breakfast items, poke bowls, and salads. Here's what we got: Spicy tuna burrito: 5/5. Everything about this was good. The wrapper was a rice wrapper that had specks of seaweed in it (instead of a traditional nori sheet), and inside included a perfectly seasoned spicy tuna, well balanced imitation crab salad, FRESH lettuce, cucumbers and avocado. Everything was seasoned well, everything was super fresh (I mean EVERYTHING!), and two sauces came with it. One was a well balanced spicy Mayo and one was a soy ponzu like sauce that was not too salty (which was a nice surprise). Next time I'm back I'm trying the lobster burrito because I am SOLD! Shrimp and bacon salad: 5/5. Awesome proportions for each and every ingredient in the salad. All components were super fresh, and it was well seasoned. Most of all, it was perfectly balanced between the tanginess of the vinaigrette dressing, the freshness of the veggies, and the umami from the shrimp and bacon. It wasn't too heavy or too light - it was perfect. Substantial and yet feeling light after eating. Service: 4/5. the people who work here are awesome-from the people taking our order to the cooks and the servers, they were all so warm and friendly. The only thing that was slightly off to me was the fact that one of the workers (might be the owner?) was walking to each of the other 4 tables around us asking how they were doing, but he never stopped by asking us the entire time. We were the only table he didn't visit. It could be that all the other 4 parties are regulars, but it just didn't feel good to be excluded. Overall, the freshness and awesome flavors of the food will get me to come back, along with the awesome people employed there. read more

We stopped here yesterday after a great REI backpacking skills class in Malibu State Park (highly recommended)! I digress - I had the famous sushi burrito, and while I wasn't too excited to pay $19, it was pretty good! I ordered the spicy salmon; fresh flavor, soft and smooth texture, not too powerful taste. The amount of spicy sauce was just right - people tend to overdo it, so it was appreciated. I'd say it's worth it if you're in the area and wanna check out the hype for yourself. The front person gave us a free key lime pie slice, and I thought it was a cute way of flirting after he asked for my number. This was an awesome experience. First we got there close to closing but they kept the grill open for us while they cleaned. I had the lobster burrito which was amazing. It was light because of the rice tortilla instead of flour and jam packed with meat. The girls got the poke bowl and beef tacos which were probably the best I have ever had. Located at the other end of the same plaza as Whole Foods, this is a fast-casual joint that has a nice outdoor patio. During the covid pandemic, it gives people a chance to eat out and support local business. You first order at the counter and your food is delivered to your table. The outdoor patio is clean and nicely lined with succulents to add a nice ambiance. I got a breakfast burrito and I thought it was decent. It wasn't the best breakfast burrito I've ever had but it got the job done in terms of satisfying my hunger. If there was one thing I would have wished for, it would be to add more avocado but overall, the burrito was decent. read more

Well well well... what do we have here?! This place has amazing food and has us going back to try other items on the menu. Originally came to get a sushi burrito but ended up with the sushi bowl. Fresh salmon, yellowtail, and seared ahi. The quality of fish I would expect at a sushi restaurant. The salmon is mouth watering. We also tried the salmon poke bowl (of course), Pepperdine burrito (organic chicken), and the steak tacos. All delicious and recommend for whatever you're in the mood for. Oh and did I mention the yummy chips and salsa?? We ordered salsa to go for the weekend. The salsa would compliment any omelette or breakfast burrito at home. I had been wanting to try this place for a long time, especially the sushi burritos. I'm a sushi lover and a burrito lover so I figured it would be the best of both worlds. We got lobster burritos. They were fresh and tasty, but very overpriced! The burrito and a Diet Coke cost me $40. They also opened up Malibu sushi which is part of Howdy's right next door and their menu was super overpriced too. Especially since it's a fast food kind of setting, not a restaurant setting. Came here out on a whim as we were hungry and in the area. We got the Sushi burrito with spicy tuna and the lobster burrito. Both were excellent and had great flavor. I did like the lobster more though so I recommend trying this one. The food came out fast and you can tell it was good quality. This is an order and sit down type of place, no waiters going around. But, they do come up and take the trash when you're done. The restaurant itself is clean. The prices are a little high though for what it is so keep that in mind. Howdy's food is always so fresh and delicious. Today I was able to experience their new Chinese menu. Thumbs up to the warm tasty orange chicken with jasmine rice. We are locals and we were coming here sometimes (as it is wicked expensive) but the past two times we've come they've closed before closing time so we drive there and arrive for them to tell us that they are closed , and this lady does it in a rude and confusing way each time. Three other groups of people arrived when we did to be told they were closed. Updated review! We have been coming here for a few years and I guess I won't be eating there anymore. The customer service is absolutely awful. The lady who answers the phone is extremely rude, I don't understand how people are employed in customer service with an attitude like that. Their opening hours are constantly changing and they don't pick up the phone for orders anymore. I just got a hold of them after months of trying to eat there, only to be told they no longer serve their breakfast burritos all day, which was the main reason we chose to eat here so often. 1. Update your hours to reflect when you are actually open - the lady I just spoke to said you close at 7pm and it's listed as 8pm. 2. Remove your menu photos that literally state breakfast is 'served all day' and please state when it is served till. Disappointed. Won't be returning. LOVE IT! Didn't expect much at first but wow this place is awesome! I got the Spicy Tuna Burrito ($15.95) and the fish was fresh as heck! Not to mention, fairly filling even though the burrito appears small. They also give you some soy sauce and a spicy sauce on the side. My friend went all in and got their Lobster Burrito ($18.95) and it was quite meaty so I'll definitely give that a try next time. I ordered online via their website and it took about 15 minutes.
