    Fried cheese curds 2.5/5
    Noah B.

$$ 3.5 stars * Fish tacos 4/5 * Fried cheese curds 2.5/5 - Fish tacos i really enjoyed. Crispy fish and no fishy taste of smell. Expensive for two little tacos but definitely tasty - Fried cheese curds i wish i skipped. Its not that they weren't edible but with all the good food around it was a waste of stomach space.

Really great poutine. Absolutely delicious. I got their special chicken sandwich because it sounded divine but it was really mediocre and it said it came with jalapenos on it and it had none on it. My dad got their fish tacos but had them grill it instead of fried fish and they were delish!

    Kalua pork poutine

We stopped by here to get a poutine to share. There are so many options aside from poutine including burgers and drinks but I highly recommend trying one of their poutine varieties. We went with the kalua pork poutine with bacon gravy and it was amazing. You get a great portion of super crispy fries with a ton of tasty thick gravy, kalua pork, squeaky cheese curds and some cilantro to add a little green. It was a delicious and very memorable dish. The fries are perfectly seasoned and perfectly crispy while the kalua pork is nice and tender so it makes a good contrast. The gravy here is well done and I can really taste the bacon. I would definitely come back to try more items. Poutine is best eaten as soon as it's made so I recommend finding a seat at the many picnic tables available at this food truck park and digging in right away. I'll be back soon!

Fried cheese curds, kalua pig poutine, strawberry mint lemonade

This restaurant is located among other food trucks, and it made me feel as if I was in Portland, OR eating at the foodcarts. Great place for everyone to hangout and didn't have to wait for a table to eat at. Fried cheese curds were hot and crispy when served and had an extra flavor of a sweet and spicy sauce that tasted amazing. Poutine was comparable to those I had in Vancouver. I got the Kalua Pig Pountine, but I think next time I would just go for the classic instead because it was a little mushy. For all you local people, don't forget to ask for kamaaina discount! Lastly, there is a great photo-op of a Tim Hortons sign, and it was great for tricking my friends into thinking we were in Canada. Overall great experience, and I hope to try the sushicado next!

    Key lime pie-let and sushicado

A week in Maui eating at all the hot spots, and my favorite and most memorable dish of the entire trip was the sushicado from Howzit Eh. Imagine: an avocado filled with poke, then deep fried and decorated in four different sauces. It was a parade of temperatures (searing hot to warm to cold), of textures (creamy, soft, chewy, crunchy) and flavors (spicy, mayo-y, teriyaki-ish, fried, avocado, sweet, savory, fish-umami). It was incredibly rich - might be better shared! - but I shared a couple of bites and then refused to share any more. It was that good. Family had the lemonade (yum) and the fish and chips (I didn't get to try these because they disappeared so quickly.) Passionfruit key lime pie went to the delighted key lime pie person who enjoyed the tart-sweet-creamy-crunchy combo. If you are in Maui, it is an extraordinarily worthwhile expedition to go to this location on Alahele Place and enjoy a meal. The evening we showed up, there were twelve food trucks in the immediate vicinity, eight in one plex, two down the street on Alahele Place, and then at least two (if not more) in the South Maui Gardens area one block down on Auhana Rd. Everyone got something different and everyone was quite happy! The adventure to all the food trucks was one of my favorite nights out on the island. Parking and seating might be challenging, but the myriad of excellent food options was outstanding.

Howzit Eh is in a great location within the Kihei food oasis. There were so many options to choose from but once some of my other options weren't serving anymore (toward closing time) I decided to try Howzit Eh. I ordered kalua pork poutine to go. It was really tasty but it was very salty and the fries got soggy fast. They had a ton of other options on the menu that I wish I had more time to try. The food oasis had a great atmosphere in the evening. It was full of people, dogs, food trucks, music and twinkle lights!

    Sushicado and lemonade
    Megan M.

Food: 4 stars Drinks: 5 stars Ambiance: 4 stars Service: 5 stars Value: 4 stars Howzit Eh has some of the best lemonade at the carts, and I'm a sucker for lemonade, so I'll always come back as long as the strawberry mint lemonade is on offer! I also love the sushicado - I just get it as my entree and can never finish the whole thing alone. I will say that I prefer their old preparation over the new - sometimes the avocado seems a little hard these days. But, it's still a genius way to serve spicy tuna and I still love it. I'm not a huge poutine fan because I dislike gravy, but my friends confirm that the poutine is tasty. Everyone has loved their items from here, but strangely the poutine isn't most people's favorite. Mine would be the sushicado or fish tacos and my friends would be the sliders or banh mi. Definitely come here for the awesome intersection of Canadian and Hawaiian food, get the lemonade, and enjoy the great (and quick) service. There is a discount for locals.

Poutine and Sushicado. Strange, delicious bedfellows...

I was on Maui for 48 hours and stopped by Howzit Eh for an afternoon snack after hearing about it from a friend. Canadian-Hawaii fusion? Sounded weird, but the food was terrific. I went for a classic poutine, just fries, cheese curds and brown gravy. Wow! It was a delicious combination. Next time I will try one of the fancier versions. The Sushicado was also amazing. A ripe avocado filled with poke and then tempura fried. Crispy, creamy, salty, and wonderful! It's a food truck lot, so not fancy. But the food is really good and prices are reasonable. The staff are all very friendly, and the food is made to order. What's not to love?

We love poutine and search for it wherever we are. Needless to say, we never expected to find it in Maui! It was amazing!! We liked it better than the poutines we have had in Canada. Our favorite was the Kalua Pork Poutine, but Makin' Bacon Poutine was also delicious. Then there was the Sushicado that was so delicious and not like anything that I had tasted before. The pineapple lemonade was perfectly tart and sweet!! The owner and staff were very kind and helpful!! Will definitely return!!

    Loco moco poutine

Loco moco poutine. Literally two of my favorite comfort foods of all time. I can't believe I didn't think of this. Besides the amazing concept, excellent execution. Runny eggs, mushroom gravy, slider patties over crispy fries. And only $17.

Our family was on vacation to Maui in late April 2023. This was the second night we ate here because we enjoyed the atmosphere and the vibe the food truck oasis exudes! This evening we chose to eat at Howzit Eh because of the wide variety of foods and tastes it offered. We were greeted by a young man who was cheerful and pleasant. He took our order and gave us pagers for our separate orders. Fish Tacos, Maui Cattle Sliders, and a Bahn Mi Sandwich was the order for three of us. The Maui cattle Sliders were super delicious according to my granddaughter! My son in law raved about his Fish Tacos. And I had a really delicious Bahn Mi sandwich. Super delicious with a nice crunch and very flavorful meat! I'd encourage everyone to try this food truck! Great selection of different types of foods and by any indication all of it well worth the money!!

    Vegan tofu poutine
    Aline T.

Thank you for the delicious vegan poutine! Brah! Smoked tofu cubes! Delicious savory vegan gravy! Fries fried right! Excited to come back and ask for the cheese with vegan gravy! Great people working here! Google maps took me to a side entrance not through Maui Gardens, so I was confused. If you go that way, there's no parking lot but there's angled "stalls" and neighborhood parking. I would just plug in Kitoko Maui instead so you'll be taken to the Maui Gardens parking lot and then walking through the grounds to the right towards the food trucks.

Fish Tacos, Makin Bacon Poutine, Maui Cattle Co Sliders
    Momi C.

Howzit Eh is awesome! Best grinds, super fun atmosphere and great service! The Sushicado is an absolute MUST! I already want to go back for more. The fish tacos were super fresh and delicious. We also had the Makin Bacon Poutine and sliders, both so amazing. Then we topped it all off with their fresh key lime lilikoi pie. Everything here was such good quality and so ono. Another great thing about Howzit Eh is their location in the South Maui Gardens. Beautiful atmosphere and plenty of seating. Great for families and kids. We enjoyed live music with our meal which was a real treat. We will definitely be going back!!

The price is on par with the cheaper franchises like Subway or Jersey Mike's. While walking away, it feels like a much more healthy and pleasant experience. I've been trying every one of their sandwiches each time I go and they are all pretty great. Fast service, cheap prices (for Maui), and concoctions make this a place I visit regularly.

They had 2 vats of browning romaine lettuce that should have been changed out entirely. The arugula was completely stale, old and yellowed and I had to pick out every leaf. The kale was bitter, bone dry and too large to eat without hand cutting every leaf. I received about 2 tablespoons of chicken for my protein and all other toppings were equally minuscule. My husband had an ahi melt that was sub par but edible. Honestly, it must have been 90+degrees inside the shop and the 2 girls working there seemed absolutely miserable. And of course extremely disinterested in preparing our food. There are so many good restaurants in Kihei, this one was a hard pass for us.

On one side they have the ordering area with a beverage cooler, a display case, and hats for sale with their logo. The other side has seating and can probably fit around 30 to 40 people. For lunch on this day I went with the chicken pesto panini while my father went with a hot dog with mustard and sauerkraut. The menu described my sandwich as chicken breast, sun dried tomato, toasted pine nuts, provolone, and pesto spread, and my father's simply as sauerkraut and mustard. It was busy when we were there, so it took about 10 minutes to order and another 15 minutes for the food to come out. Since we ordered separately, my food came out first and even though I planned to wait, I had enough time to eat it while waiting for my dad's. The chicken pesto panini ended up being quite good. The chicken was moist and flavorful and there was more than enough cheese. The sun dried tomatoes added a nice pop of flavor, although I wish there had been more. My favorite part was the pesto spread and pine nuts, especially the garlicky flavor from the pesto. My dad also thought his hot dog was good. The bottom line for me is that I would head back here again in the future. I enjoyed my sandwich and my dad enjoyed his hot dog, so I would be interested in trying more of the menu.

We had the smoked maminha tri-tip steak, Okinawa purple sweet potato, grilled maui onion and broccolini. Beautifully plated on real plates and silverware. No comparison to the so many common $21 food truck entrees and cost just a little more. The owner also is very sociable and enjoys talking about this food in a variety of languages with passers by and customers. On the far end from main entrance to the Kihei Food Oasis, or right at the other entrance, depending on how you enter. I wish we had found it earlier or we would have eaten there more than once!

lilikoi meringue tart ($10) - perfect tart to me actually…read more - usually sour flavors like these tend to be too sweet as the baker attempts to compensate the sourness, but that highkey backfires because when the dessert is too sweet and sour i end up hating it - this one however was just right; not too sweet and it's got just enough crust to pair with the lilikoi braised beef loco moco - an elevated take on loco moco that made me realize a simple dish can actually be impressive - the immaculate presentation was one thing but the flavor and texture exceeded my expectations for how a loco moco can taste - the crispy rice was nicely charred; not too burnt; usually charred items taste overdone and burnt but this had a nice note to it; wish it was crispier though but it might be because we were waiting for ages for the rest of the dish - braised beef was extremely tender - sauce was great but i wish it was a bit thicker and less liquidy - the pickled veggies were pretty well made too; they were lacking some kick and brightening flavor but the quality is there shrimp kauai - the shrimp was so juicy and the sauce well done; so fresh it was naturally sweet - the head was golden too, filled with natural sweetness -flavor on point; i had nothing else to say about this dish other than it was near perfect - same comment on the pickled veggies here as above rating: 4.5/5 - every dish was well done; not perfect and can improve but i was already well satisfied - the flavor, texture, and portion made the meal so worth... probably the most affordable food we've had on this island given the quality and care they put into each dish - it operates as a food truck within this zen buddha looking garden - very cute at night with fairy lights, plants, and other decor - highly recommend - service was kind and friendly but it took a long while for the food to be ready; makes sense though given how elaborate their dishes looked!
