Stumbled upon this place one night when we were looking for something different to eat in Kihei. If you've never had poutine, it's basically cheese fries with gravy. Yep...yum. They've turned this Canadian classic into a local style favorite with their Loco Moco Poutine. The homemade hamburger patty was seasoned and cooked perfectly. The egg was runny and delightful. The gravy was flavorful and not overly salty. Let's just say it was totally delicious and no fry was left behind. We also got a great goat cheese and pear salad that I no longer see on the menu, but it was light, refreshing and a great accompaniment to the heavy fries. My daughter ordered a kids Fish and Fries which only came with ketchup. She enjoyed it, as the big pieces of fish were battered nicely, but she did say she wished there was some sort of tartar or dipping sauce. WOW! Went for the fish & chips and as I was ordering, I saw the Sushicado... so I had to get both. Both were fried in an AMAZINGLY crispy beer batter. Fish was flaky & came with both fries & fried pickles. The fries were the best at the table (other family members went to different food trucks but they all kept stealing my fries). The Sushicado was heavenly... my 2 favorite things in one (deep fried avocado stuffed with sushi & covered in spicy mayo). The staff was so sweet & appreciative of the business. Fries, cheese and gravy - YES PLEASE !!! I've heard of poutine fries but never had them before until yesterday. Since this was our first time at this food truck, my husband and I decided to try their classic poutine fries, sliders and lemonade and all I have to say is YUM! We got the lemonade when we placed our order and it was sooo good and refreshing while we waited for our food. Everything is made to order so our food came out piping hot - just how we like it. We are definitely coming back to try their other poutine fries and "handhelds" - maybe as early as next week lol! Service was awesome (I didn't realize the owner took our order) too! read more

Stopped by Maui South Gardens today and we tried out the new Howzit Eh truck- wow! So good! Excellent service from a great staff, yummy fresh menu, and a delicious meal! I decided to try their dumplings and the sushicado and these dishes did not disappoint. The sushicado was so flavorful with their sauces, cilantro and jalpeño. It was my personal favorite! Just tried this gem for the first time! Delicious!!! Had the classic poutine and sliders. The fries were just the right amount of crispy. The gravy you can taste it is homemade, it gives you the warm fuzzies of family nostalgia. And the cheese curds were soft and tasty. Well let me tell yah How it waz at Howziteh! I haven't had poutine since I was about 18 catching a ferry to Vancouver Island. This was a delightful treat of layered flavors and textures. I'm absolutely hooked! I got the "eh brahhh" poutine. The jalapeños were fiery spicy deliciousness. The cheese curds were dense and mouthwatering and the beef gravy was divine! The kimchee cabbage had the right blend of flavors and didn't taste overly vinegary. The Maui Cattle Sliders with the maple bacon bits was too good! Love how the bacon is cut into small pieces and flavored so well. The beef was cooked to perfection and the size of the sliders makes it a nice handheld meal that's not only fun to eat but bursting with flavor. Doug the owner is an absolute delight with a cheerful smile and zest for life. The staff at this truck has done a great job with the menu. I definitely want to try the blackened fresh catch sandwich and Turkey wrap next! This truck is located at the Kihei Food Oasis at the South Maui gardens... check it out next time you're in Kihei! The gardens have a great zen vibe that makes the whole experience of eating so chill and delectable. On every second Saturday there is live music too!! read more

Poutine crossed with Hawaiian food?! I got the loco moco poutine and my boyfriend got the sliders. Both of us felt that the burger patties were way oversalted. Bf ate one slider before he was over it. I ended up keeping my leftovers and the flavor was a little more balanced the next day. Was tasty enough but....20+ minutes on a not so busy night and the food was luke warm which was surprising since I was sitting right there the whole time. Felt like it had sat for 5 minutes or so. We've been here several times. Spencer, the sous chef rocks it. We've had the sliders, we've had the fish and chips and we've had that Poutain. All of the food is delicious. If you're here in Maui on the Kihei side, definitely stop at this food truck. However, just keep in mind. They are closed on Sundays. Spencer makes this place. read more

My wife and I stumbled upon this and were blown away - in fact, I made a yelp account so I could review this place because THEY DESERVE IT. 1) Food - First and foremost, the food is delicious. We ordered the Kalua pork poutine and Sushicado. We're from Minnesota and couldn't resist trying a hawaiian twist on the Canadian classic pontine, and it didn't disappoint. The sushicado was one of the most fun twists on sushi that we had on the island. We wanted to try 2) Value - Maui is known to be expensive, but we found Howzit Eh (any several other foodtrucks) to be some of the best value eats on the island. The owner told us their goal is to create amazing value and dining experiences for their customers - he definitely nailed it! This food truck is located in a newly developed area with several other food trucks, so there's lots of choices if you want to adventure beyond the "Canada meets Hawaii" cuisine. 3) Friendliness - This was the the most surprising part of our visit and the part we'll remember for a long time. It was on/off raining the evening we visited and sure enough, as soon as we were about to eat, it started to pour again. The owner (who had taken our order) was prepared and instantly invited us into the truck to eat. He and the chef were amazing hosts - it was like sitting at an impromptu 'Chef's Table'. I ordered fish tacos which had some unidentifiable fish that was very tiny(it was mostly cabbage), but it had good flavor overall, and the fried avocado (sushicado)which was good but some of the avocado was pretty brown. My husband said the bahn mi sandwich was just ok, it lacked some flavor but was fresh.Overall it was a good option. read more
