After an hour had passed -- and after checking in three separate times -- we were told our table had been given away on three different occasions. We were by Disneyland one afternoon and decided to try this place. First off, our server was super sweet and very attentive. I'm sorry but I completely forgot her name. Our food came out a little late but they were packed. It was a Saturday so it was expected. I ordered the chicken and waffles, the chicken had a great flavor and not dry but the waffle was not very good, it tasted like it was a frozen waffle, as you can see from my picture I covered it with butter to give it a better flavor. My husband had the Dixieland steak melt, he said it was good but needed a bit more flavor. We'll give it another try, they have a huge menu so it's worth another trip. read more

Nola in the OC! With a desire for breakfast did a quick yelp search and found Huckleberry's and made the quick walk to the Anaheim Gardenwalk event center, headed to the top floor and walked into a mini New Orleans bayou. Walking up the the restaurant you saw large and small groups all exiting with to go containers so you already knew the portions were extensive. The wait time was only mins at 10am on Saturday AM which I was expecting 30 or more so that was another plus. The menu has many classics turned up a notch with that Southern twist. I opted for the breakfast burrito with andouille sausage topped with Huckleberry's chili! The burrito was massive and with the topping you had to use a fork to consume but no worries it was delicious either way add some Cajun hot sauce for that extra vinegary spicy twang and bam! A breakfast burrito, the recommended chicken friend stake and a kids meal with pancakes, I emphasized that I would pay extra for blueberries since my son likes it that way. Parking is not an issue, parking structure, go straight the P4 if your there to eat, all the restaurants are located on that floor. I tried Huckleberry's with a group of friends while in town visiting the convention center. It was one of the few places in the area we could find that wasn't a national chain restaurant. It is located in the Garden Walk area, which is an outdoor mall of sorts catered towards tourists. Huckleberry's itself is a brunch restaurant with more breakfast options than lunch. I ordered 'Huck's breakfast burrito', which is a behemoth of a burrito stuffed with choice of protein (sausage, bacon, ham, andouille sausage), scrambled eggs, peppers, onions, cheese and potatoes topped with Creole sauce (cajun salsa). The food came out very fast. The burrito was good, but nothing to write home about. It probably tasted better after a long day of travel than it would have otherwise. I also got an iced tea which costed almost $5, so I felt like I got nearly robbed. Overall, my experience at Huckleberry's was pretty average, hence 3 stars. read more

REALLY REALLY REALLY wanted to like this place more. I was there on a Saturday morning around 7am and the service was reallllllly slow. The perks! The restaurant itself is so adorable. I love the theme and the facility is clean/well kept. The restaurant is also quite large! The cons. The food was okay. The flavor was fine, but the food was overall really dry. We tried the huckleberry muffin and the breakfast burrito with andouille sausage. For the burrito, the andouille sausage was terrific! But everything overall fell a bit flat for me. The creole sauce felt a bit disappointing because it tasted just like jarred salsa, although it had a good kick/spice. This burrito definitely needed some more moisture. The huckleberry muffin was unique and had a good flavor! The huckleberry came through and the batter itself was also good. The muffin again was pretty dry for me. With some more moisture, this muffin could've been solid! The service was particularly lacking on this morning. Everything, except for getting seated, took really long from greeting us to bringing out our drinks/food to offering to-go boxes and even paying. We were even without silverware for a while. Overall, a disappointing experience, but I'm thinking we just came at a tough time. Had the strawberry mimosas and loved it plus the price was just right! We were walking to Disneyland after checking in at our hotel when we came across Huckleberry's in the Anaheim GardenWalk. It was almost noon and we wanted to get to the park, but decided it might be easier to eat outside the of the Magic Kingdom, perhaps at a random chain restaurant at an Orange County mall. There was, to our surprise, a short wait for a table, but the mall was a nice enough place to wait, with plenty of space for our three-year-old to roam around without getting into trouble. The staff was nice, and they had a table ready for us by the time I'd read through the menu and figured out what to order. The restaurant was casual and kid-friendly, fully decorated for Halloween. We sat in a roomy booth, where I was able to trap our older son, who seemed ready to walk out and explore the premises. We got a high chair for the baby and ordered as fast as we could. Service was friendly and blessedly efficient. I got a Bayou Bloody Mary, which cost $7 and came with a slice of bacon. It was a little watery but quite satisfying, and not something I could have gotten at Disneyland. The food was solid. There was a big Southern-themed menu (Huckleberry's is almost exclusively a California chain), and I went for the gold medal chicken and waffles, which was enough food to feed me and our two boys. It came with a Belgian waffle, chicken tenders, and two eggs, which I ordered soft scrambled. None of this was amazing, but none of it was half bad, either. The baby sampled everything and seemed to enjoy every bite. The three-year-old picked at my waffle and his father's, which came with powdered sugar and berries. We were in and out in under an hour, with both boys more or less fed and ready for a long day at Disneyland. Huckleberry's worked out well for our purposes, and I'd recommend it if you're looking for an easy place to eat with kids. read more

So while vacationing in Anaheim we needed breakfast in our last day and stopped in this location. Parking is in a garage and the restaurant will validate. Drive up to P4 for The closest parking. Restrooms. The women's had 2 regular stalls and 1 handicap I believe. Only the handicap had seat covers. This was 10 am. Why wasn't it stocked? You can order breakfast or lunch items which is great. We had some of both and two kids with us ordered off kids menus. The waitress took our drink order first. 3 coffees and 2 kids choc milk. She returned with two coffees and we looked surprised. Did I forget something. Yes his coffee! They don't have any half and half and said we had to use those tiny pods of creamer stuff. Oatmeal. Don't order this. It is clearly microwaved when you request it from a small packet and is still crunchy. Not the good kind simmered in the stove that I expected from a country restaurant. I tried two bites and told staff it's not acceptable Double Hamburger and fries were good. Kids meals good. French toast was good. Blueberry Muffin was not moist like it should have been. My adult daughter gave it a thumbs down. Decor is cute and we had a growling alligator over our table. The kids liked it. read more

I'm a big breakfast/brunch person and my husband is not. He asked me to find a brunch spot in Anaheim and I recommended this place based on the review. He did not particularly find it good. Food was ok but not outstanding. He really likes eggs Benedict but he said it was missing in flavor. Ambiance was good and kids friendly but in general, the garden walk mall, it is crowded on weekend and was not very convenient. He stayed for over 2 hours and no one kicked them out. We did not have to wait for a seat on Friday morning but we had to wait about 15 mins on Saturday morning. It's more busy on the weekends. We ordered our food and received it pretty quickly. Food: On the first day, we ordered the Stuffed French Toast with Huckleberries and the Tom's Scrambled. The second day, we got the Huck's Swamp Iced Tea, Iced Caramel Macchiato, Crab Cake Benedict and 1/2lb Chicken Fried Steak with scrambled eggs and toast. Stuffed French Toast: This dish was delicious! I loved the sweet vanilla cream in the middle. The huckleberry topping was the perfect choice to go on the french toast. It was't too sweet or sour. Loved it! Tom's Scrambled: My boyfriend ordered this dish because he loves chicken fried steak. I am not a fan of chicken fried steak but I thought it was delicious! It was crispy, and it tasted pretty good with the gravy, eggs and biscuit! Huck's Swamp Iced Tea: This drink is a must try! It comes in a large mason jar! It tastes refreshing! Loved the huckleberries once again lol Iced Caramel Macchiato: I recommend this drink if you like caramel macchiatos! It's absolutely delicious! Crab Cake Benedict: One of my favorite dishes to order for breakfast/brunch is crab cake benedict. I had to try this dish when I came here. It was highly recommended by the staff. I quite liked this dish! The eggs were cooked perfectly. The crab cake was nice and crispy. Although I thought it needed a little bit more seasoning. I loved the potatoes that came with the dish. 1/2lb Chicken Fried Steak: My boyfriend ordered Chicken Fried Steak again but this time, an even bigger portion of chicken fried steak cause he loved it so much. It had the perfect texture and taste. It went well with scrambled eggs and potatoes. We chose the toast and the staff forgot about it but they eventually brought it out to us. Price: Very affordable. It could've been five stars if we did not get such a crappy service in the end. The server who got our order was good, but the one who brought our check was the problem. When we asked for a check, she didn't even stop to tell us to wait (we already waited for the check for about 8 minutes), she kept walking and saying "wait" WITHOUT any dishes in her hands. We were just assuming she was busy until then. However when she brought the check, she almost threw the reciept paper on the table without the receipt holder (which we saw bunch at counter), and told us to go to the counter to pay. I asked to the counter lady if it's always like this to pay at front, and she couldn't answer clearly; and we saw other, A LOT other customers paying at their tables. This is my second time coming for breakfast here. The ambience is so fun with Cajun music. The mimosas are not to be missed. Huckleberry?! So good and kicks. And the breakfast is really solid. Eggs cooked perfectly! Hash browns that are the right balance of crispy and soft. And ham steak that is just like in Texas. The beignets were pretty good (although we ended up liking the Disneyland beignets better!). The crabcake eggs benedict was good (I got it over a biscuit instead of the English muffin, but it might have been better with the harder bread as is standard just for holding up). The fruit crepes were also good. The lone downgrade was probably the red potatoes. Not as good as a "country potato" kind of thing that often comes with breakfasts. There was also a 0.75 charge to order "the reds" - which I didn't realize from the menu. I think this is a solid 3 star place. Some may love it, some may hate it, and some will just think it's okay. Service is okay. Like friendly at times, but also forgetful at times. They do seem a bit disorganized overall, like they don't keep track of who ordered which items. Vegan and vegetarian options are pretty limited. They do have oatmilk for lattes, but you can't get it for hot drinks since a machine makes the drinks with cow milk only. You can get oatmilk in cold drinks, but they don't have decaf. So if you had your heart set on a decaf hot latte, you will be disappointed. And if you order a cold drink with oatmilk, they apparently still put whipped cream on it instead of asking it you want dairy added to your non-dairy drink. Then when you order another one (without whipped cream), they'll make it with cow milk instead of oatmilk. I hope this isn't a normal thing, but it shows a lack of care at best and intentionally providing ingredients that could cause health reactions at worse. They have hot sauce at the table which is helpful since some of the food is on the bland side. Overall, I'm unlikely to return, but I can see the appeal for travelers in the area who don't want to venture further than walking distance for some quality food. read more
