Ok, I was here before and I didn't do an update. I'll make sure that never happens again, even if I did check in. Friday night visit and they were reasonably busy, maybe 10 minute wait. She had the 3/4 Fried Catfish entree and I went for the Spiced Salmon entree. Both were just awesome! Service was awesome as always too. Parking can get tight, but they do have some unpaved parking area a short walk away. Look forward to our next visit! read more

This place has probably the best fried catfish I've ever had! Fried perfectly, tender and delicious. The staff is very friendly and accommodating as well. And the whole place is exceptionally clean. Before you read this review know I have eaten a lot of catfish in my life! So this restaurant offers. " Mississippi Style " catfish. If you want it crispy you have to say "burn it" which we did . We got the 3/4 lb catfish and 2 baked potatoes. The fish was cooked really well but tasted just okay. It was pretty bland tasting unfortunately. The baked potatoes only came with butter and sour cream. This was one meal and we shared it. The bill was 18.89. I feel like it just could be better for one meal however, it's the only decent restaurant in town! read more

I haven't had catfish this good since I was a kid! They have several options for your catfish from regular cook to "burnt" but trust me. It is far from burnt! It is a slightly more crispy version of their standard cook. They have pickled tomatoes also that are just the perfect size and consistency. Their sides are fantastic and there is a portion size for every size stomach. I can't wait until I have the time to stop in again. It's a little hard to find but worth the effort! read more

We came up from Waco heading to BSA Camp James Ray in Pottsboro. We needed to eat before we arrived at camp so I pulled up Yelp. I saw the great reviews for Huck's and we figured we would give it a whirl. We pulled in at 4:35 on a Friday and the parking lot was packed and people were waiting for tables. We knew we had struck gold! We got seated after about a 6-7 minute wait. Our waitress was prompt and attentive. The fish was the BEST I've ever had. I got the two piece plate with fries and coleslaw. My husband got the two piece with green beans and fried squash. The squash was incredible. Everything was homemade and full of flavor. The hushpuppies were hot and the butter made them incredible. We had an incredible meal and had leftovers to boot. If we come back this way we will be back. My super picky husband has posted to FB to tell everyone how great it was before we were even out of the parking lot. Five stars for sure. read more

Normally, I would post a review with pictures to compliment my stance, but the plate didn't stand a chance. Huck's is a hidden gem if you aren't a local. I've visited a few times, and have always enjoyed my experience. In all honesty, Huck's has the fried catfish in Texas IMO. The Mississippi style fry is cooked to perfection. My In-laws like it "burnt" for a little extra crunch to the bite. Besides the catfish, they have plenty of great southern sides to choose from. I have never tried any of the other main dishes bc I love the catfish so much. I'll have to follow up on this review next time I visit town! Expect a wait. The catfish was BOMB! I recommend getting it "burnt", it's not at all, that's just what they call it! Service was awesome, our waitress was perfectly attentive. The tomato relish was a perfect flavor and recipe to accompany the fish. We loved the ham and potato salad, okra and the jalapeño poppers were great too. WOW! What can I say! My husband and I were away for a quick little weekend get-a-way, staying in a little cabin, looking for something good to eat. We found Huck's via yelp, it had great reviews so took the drive! So glad we did!!! When we pulled in to the parking lot it was full, I said to my husband I think we made a good choice! You know it's good when it's packed! The food was amazingly delicious!!! EVERYTHING from the fried catfish, hush puppies, black eyed peas, fried okra, and tea!!!!! Our waitress Sadie was amazing and quick and attentive to all our needs! If you are in the area you MUST try Huck's!!!! You are missing out if you don't!!! When I do a yelp review on a restaurant in a small town, I usually give some allowances because in general it's just harder to find good food options in small towns( like the Jalepeno Tree would probably get a 2 if I ate in DFW but in Pottsboro I would give it a 3-4...I'm still pondering that review) . This is a legit 5 star rating. Someone in our group of 10 had a hankering for catfish so I scoured yelp in hopes of finding some good catfish and helpers did not disappoint. The fry their catfish it "Mississippi style but if you like your fish a little drier, you can ask them to "burn it" and thy will cook it a little more. I almost asked for this because I was worried they wouldn't cook the fish all the way otherwise, but since almost all the tellers gave 5 star reviews on the catfish, I just rolled with it. The fish that was served was perfection. Crispy on the outside, cook s but still juicy on the inside. 9 of us ordered the catfish with my son ordering chicken tenders and we all felt that this was 5 star dining It was super busy, they quoted us an hour wait but it was more like 35 min for a party of 10. The hush puppies were very good. That's the best thing I can say about this restaurant. Given the 4-1/2 stars, I was very surprised how disappointing this restaurant was. The chicken tenders and chicken fried steak were frozen, the kind served at a school cafeteria. The catfish (I have serious doubts this was actually catfish too) was dried out and more like fish jerky. Do not recommend this restaurant. Too top it off, everything was very dirty. Outstanding! I'm not a huge fan of catfish, but I will try it now and then while I'm traveling. Some places are good, some not. Huck's was excellent. I ordered the 3 piece along with onion rings and garlic bacon slaw. The fish was nice and crispy, but still moist in the center and tasted very good. The garlic bacon slaw was interesting and really garlicky. That's never a bad thing. Wait staff was super friendly and attentive, and the restaurant was really clean.
