They by far have the best catfish in the texoma area. If you are looking for good catfish with good service this is the place to eat!!!

I almost never give a five! Maybe one or two over many years of yelping. This place gets it just for the fish. Perfect. I know farm raised catfish, Tass, Tass. But, they have found a way to distinguish themselves from the typical small, thin, cornmeal crusted standard at 99% of restaurants. Their filets are large and fat and have a great batter that lets the beautiful perfectly cooked and served hot fish shine through. Service is friendly, atmosphere comfortable. Got here right before the crowd came in. I ordered the $16.99 which has 2 sides and 2 steamed and 2 fried catfish with onion petals. Onion petals is the bomb but too spicy for me..lol..was disappointed with the steam catfish but the fried catfish was good. Took us 1 hr to get here. Came back again today after a few days camping at Eisenhower and once again left full and happy. It was packed today, Father's Day, but it moved thru fairly quickly. The owner was seating folks and shaking hands, great hospitality! We sat, put in our orders, and enjoyed the Trivial Pursuit question cards while our mouths watered. After a starter of tangy, cheesy stuffed jalapeños it was time to dive into what I came here for...fried catfish. 3 filets golden brown (if you want some extra crunch say burn it) and 2 sides. Fish was excellent once again as well as the bacon/garlic slaw (very garlicky) and pinto beans. Hush puppies were good too. This is a nice find for us and we like to come by after we camp in Eisenhower State Park. Kind people and good food! read more

Great service, wonderful food. First time here so let's see, Parking lot was packed... Good sign! As you go to get seated, people assume you've been there so shuttling you off to your seat is quick and not personal. Drink orders were quick. Tried the famous catfish. I had a Cajun grilled and a Cajun fried with garlic-bacon slaw and Philly spinach. The hubs had the regular fried catfish with pinto beans and the garlic bacon slaw. The bacon slaw sounded SOOOO good but do not get it. Both of us didn't like it...way too much of some sort of seasoning. It overpowered the potential of a really great slaw. Uber disappointed in that one. The pinto beans were a hit with the hubs and the Philly spinach truly made up for the slaw. If you love spinach artichoke dip, get the Philly spinach! Yummmm All the catfish were ordered was delectable! Will def. return.... Hope the owner takes notice in a possible recipe gone awry. (Karla is the best... Always a pleasure. I have known the manager for 25 years, and she never hesitates to say hello. The food though, that where the magic is, John's recipe for his catfish batter is unparalleled in my own opinion and to this day(37 years), I've never eaten catfish anywhere else. I don't mind giving this place 5 stars, in the context that it's a casual catfish place. As far as farm raised catfish goes (and they are proud to claim "farm raised") you can't get much better. The fried fish is light and crisp, and the portions are generous. You can pick your portion size of 1/4, 1/2, 3/4, or 1 pound of catfish. (One fillet is 1/4 pound.) I had the fried catfish. I was passing through, so I don't expect to have an opportunity to try other offerings. Sides are good. Nothing extraordinary, except for the cornbread hush puppies. Those are very tasty. Not greasy at all. Rich flavor. Fried okra was also fried very well. I don't know how they do it, but none of the fried foods were at all greasy. They got the fryer set perfectly, I guess. Mid afternoon Saturday. Crowded, but we got served quickly. The food came out in a timely fashion. Servers were very friendly. No complaints, at all. read more

I've been to Huck's at least 5 times now for lunch on my way to Durant. Food is fast, consistent and taste great! Everyone is always friendly and the owner has spoken to us on many occasions. Very solid fried catfish (crisp, very lightly breaded, moist, very mild flavor, not in the least greasy) spectacular potato salad, good pinto beans and hush puppies. The healthier options were definitely less well executed; the salad was iceberg lettuce and tomato only, the fruit was canned pears with grapes and a touch of cinnamon ( it worked, but more for home than a restaurant) and the shrimp cocktail was very lackluster, with smallish, very limp shrimp. The owner shook my hand when I paid and thanked me for coming out, they definitely care about the business. I would say definitely come here expecting to eat unhealthy and you can't go wrong. Prices are very reasonable and I appreciate that the fried catfish platters can be ordered with between one and four filets, for all levels of appetite. In sum, a great choice if you are nearby and not counting calories. read more

Favorite for my family for many years, going back to Pottsboro location. Ample menu of several entrees, but the catfish is definitely the star. Not an all you can eat place, but you order 1,2,3, or 4 pieces of catfish, along with your sides. Service is good and efficient an you can expect a wait on weekends. Best catfish around. I don't recommend the stuffed crab very small and seem to be a lot of breading. I also don't like the coleslaw but my husband does. Can't beat the catfish though and if you get 4 pieces and double baked potato, you can get several meals out of one dinner. read more

In the interesting of honesty and integrity I must admit the sides here are getting hard to take. This is one of our top favorites and the fish is always excellent, as is the service but the carry out options for sides that keep some freshness are very limited and tired. If you order Fries, they were excellent when they were hot, same with a baked potato. The Potato Salad has Ham and really is very good. So there's always that option. I'm loyal to this great place, I just think it's time for a couple of great new sides. The fish is and always has been fabulous, as has the owner and his team. This was my second time to do lunch at Huck's. I had read the reviews and knew it would be good. After all they are too close to Lake Texhoma not to have good catfish. The first time we went I was not aware of how different the Mississippi style catfish was. I really did not care for this style that was served on my first visit. Not really fried and kind of mushy like. Went back and read the reviews again and it was recommended if you want Texas style ask for them to burn It. The waitress reassured me it would be fine and it was. This is addressed in the menu but I just didn't notice it before. I was a happy camper when served the burnt style. Everything is good here. My only complaint would be the tarter sauce is a little runny. May ask them for a different version next time. Enjoy - Huck's is as good as the crowd indicates. read more

Great Catfish and the bacon garlic claw slaw was fresh and delicious. The place is clean and well kept up so don't let the outside appearance stop you from trying this place. It needs so updating outside but if the food is always this good, I can over look anything outside. Thanks Hucks read more

I am giving this place one of my prized 5 stars for 2017! The catfish is off the hook good! Why would you order anything else? It comes to the table hot and fresh. The service is very very good. Our server was Brittany and she has as much to do with my rating as the food. She took excellent care of us! They serve the fish with a green Tomato relish and onions. The onions where too strong for my liking but the green relish was killer! I had never had it before and it was a perfect match for the fish. Wife ordered shrimp. It was good but the catfish was better. The cocktail sauce wasn't very tasty. It seemed like a bottled chilli sauce but had no horse radish in it. Did I say to order the catfish? read more

Come hungry! Bcuz the food just got real. First the atmosphere is great. They grab you with their very welcoming smile then engulf your eyes with memorabilia and neat decor. Service was nothing short of prompt friendly and courteous. Now the food....catfish! Served in qty of 1, 2, 3, or 4 large portions. Fried crispy and to perfection. Tasted excellent. Or you can get it grilled or blackened. The hush puppies make you want to hush your mouth they are so hot and good. And let's not forget the sides...black eyed peas and fried okra of course but I did try the squash and it was a winner too. We stopped at this restaurant for lunch on our way to Choctaw Casino because it had good reviews. We were not disappointed at all. The service was excellent and the food delicious.
