    Fried Chicken Hashbrown Casserole
    Shakira R.

We stumbled into Huddle House while running errands. We both ordered in hash brown casseroles - my hubby ordered the sausage bacon, and I ordered the southern fried chicken. The southern fried chicken casserole included the Huddle House's seasoned signature cheesy Hashbrown Casserole, topped with crispy fried chicken, farm-fresh scrambled eggs (no Applewood smoked bacon), and country gravy. I also added green peppers because they needed a bit more flavor - I was right. It was so good. To my surprise, my hubby ordered a waffle - he's not a waffle guy; he is a pancake and French toast guy. The huddle house reminded me of Waffle House - golden, fluffy, with a bunch of nooks to store butter and syrup.

Very good service! I heard this place was hit or miss and it was a hit! I had the homestyle bowl and it was amazing! I didn't like the hash browns though. It's a cozy place for breakfast and was a bit busy. Would come back again!

On a rainy Saturday morning, I decided to stop in the Huddle House for breakfast. If you've never been to one, it's a cousin of a Waffle House with a short order grill but minus the counter seating and attitude. If Waffle House is the Walmart of short order grills, because you never know what customers are staff are going to do, Huddle House is more like the Target. You know what to expect every time you come through the door. The pace is more relaxed. It feels warmer and more inviting due to the combination of low-hanging incandescent lights along with the regular ceiling lights keep it well lit bt warm. Yellow and brown colors plus walls with fun little slogans Iike "I never met a potato I didn't like." Friendly waitstaff and cooks - you can strike up a conversation with either. They serve full breakfast and lunch menu all day. Today, I chose blueberry bites, hash browns, and a hash brown casserole. Admittedly, I had other options than the extra hash brown like fruit, biscuit, grits, Etc but I was just in the mood for some crispy hash browns. Hash browns were crispy and buttery. Just like Waffle House. I could have got things added on to the top of it but just went straight with the basics. Hash brown casserole was good with bacon sausage and eggs just like you'd expect. I do prefer the gravy over Waffle House gravy because it's less greasy. You're definitely tasting the distinct flavor of the gravy and the sausage with each bite. Stop being said I do wish that they did a spicier or more flavorful sausage. Its like Hardees sausage from the 80s before they stepped up their game. Of course my wife prefers it because were opposite on the savory spectrum Blueberry bites are fun. They're just blueberry donut holes with a sprinkling of powdered sugar. They come with a cream cheese dipping sauce, which I tried and was too sugary for me, but I'm sure my wife would have loved them. For fresh made donut holes, they are as great as you would expect.

Two words I have for this place: average but worth a second try for the French toast. When I walked into the restaurant, it seemed like a very simple and causal place that served breakfast food. The staff are nice, but they are kind of all over the place despite it not being busy or packed. A section of the store is still closed off. My server got me some refills of water, but she did not check on me. The wait was also really long, given they were not that busy. For the food item I got, I chose the Bacon, Sausage, and Sausage gravy stuffed hash browns. It is honestly very average because there was a lot of gravy on it. The gravy took away most of the taste from the other ingredients, and it was very bland. Pros - Very casual environment. - The staff is nice. - The food on their menu looks really interesting. Cons - Staff seems like they are all over the place. - The wait for my food took quite a while despite it being slow. - The bacon, sausage, and sausage gravy was very average and bland. This restaurant is not a bad place because a lot of its other dishes look interesting to try. Right now, I would recommend this place if you're just trying to grab a quick bite of breakfast food. I will likely revise this once I try some more food here.

Free waffles on wednsday with purchase!!! Beef tip with vegetables, Breakfast Bowl with Bacon, appetizer sampler, grits and coffee.

It's hard to fine food that is seasoned just right. Since the whole menu is available all day the selection is unlimited. Amber is the waitress who took care of us and she did above and beyond what most do. She was kind, patient, helpful and knowledgeable. The restaurant was open and cozy. Nice meeting place and family place.. Try Huddle house, I believe you will be pleasantly surprised.

Over the Summer my son was a super regular eating here close to once a week after swim for breakfast. I joined him, but did not always eat. When I did I was usually satisfied, nothing crazy, but good. The location is across the street from Landstown Commons off Princess Anne. Parking issues are much improved after CHKD completed their new building and large parking area that they allow to be shared. The lot usually has debris. A drain that runs directly in front of the business spews out disgusting green water. Is it sewage, I doubt it but yuck! Huddle Houses offers a model similar to IHOP with breakfast, lunch and dinner served at the table. More often than not we were greeted by a waitress working the floor, or kitchen. Seating is seat yourself unlike IHOP. Let's start with food, then I will move to service. My son typically gets the same thing as do I. So chocolate chip pancakes with side of scrambled eggs and bacon. He likes it and the meals have been delivered hot. The bacon seems to have been improved as evidenced today. The eggs seems to be more whites, it's inconsistent. My breakfast a waffle combo with eggs over easy and sausage. The waffle is the best thing, very similar to Waffle House. Eggs fine and sausage ok. Most meals I would get coffee which I consider above average. A pet peeve is their syrup bottle which is cheaply made, drips and annoying. The service has been average, to at times below with slow refills. This morning my cup was completely empty and refilled in a small gap in time. The timing of the food is above average coming out of the kitchen and the processing of bill good. Where service fell apart this morning in my opinion was an issue pointed out at the end when I realized it. A hair was found under the second piece of sausage. The waffle is always plated separately. The eggs and sausage plated together. Everything had been eaten except the sausage where a hair was discovered. The waitress alerted and in her words "you should have told me sooner". She went onto say I would have had your meal remade. I informed her it was only realized at the end. She came back with the check and no deduction of any kind on my meal. In my opinion the entire meal should have been comped, or at minimum reduced. Since this same waitress waited in us many times and remembered me I guess my expectation was to high. I don't see myself returning. 2.5, rounding down.

Paper thin sausage, overcooked eggs, bland cold hashbrowns.

Just look at the state of this photo. Says it all. Cold, soggy, overcooked eggs. First and last time. I should have paid more attention to the bad reviews but I always like to give the benefit of the doubt since I've ordered from places with bad reviews and have had great experiences. Not this time. I cannot even believe they sent this out!! Those sausages are paper thin and dry too.

Ask the Community - Huddle House

Does anyone know if this location is going to reopen, what happened?

Huddle House at Landstown Place has reopened. It is being run by new management, and the food is good, hot, served fast. The old management wasn't working out, too many issues with staff, and with the covid issues, closed for a while.

Although we sat outside (because we were dining with a dog), we never had to wait too long for the waitress to check on us. Every 5-10 minutes, she dropped by to make sure things were going well and to refill our coffee. Since The Egg Bistro has a HUGE breakfast menu, I'm sure everyone should be able to find something that they will/might enjoy. For my dining pleasure, I tried something new and went with the Bennie & the Grits. This dish piqued my interest because I never heard of grits cakes in the four decades of living on this planet. For about 20 bucks, the dish included three fried grit cakes with ground sausage, grilled shrimp, more sausage, two poached eggs and a side. Although the serving size was HUGE, I was not a bit fan of the dish. Note, I didn't think the dish was prepared badly, I just didn't get the concept of the fried grits (this from a grits lover); however, everything else with the dish was pretty good. If you are a Bloody Mary lover, you might some interesting varieties of Bloody Marys here. Additionally, I really appreciated that The Egg Bistro ranks the Bloody Marys based on spice level. Overall, I definitely would not mind visiting this location during a future trip to Va Beach. The only (very) minor issue that I had was that the outdoor seating is right next to the parking lot so you might experience some exhaust fumes/smoke while eating if you chose to dine outside. Again, this would not have been a (very) minor issue if we were not dining with a dog.

When we entered we were greeted right away by the friendly staff. There weren't many people inside so we got a table right away. The menu was pretty simple and right to the point. The soup was actually very tasty! I'd get it again. The chips weren't appealing to either of us, they were pretty soggy or maybe a little stale. I just ate them in the soup. My friend refused to eat them. Lol. She's a picky eater, me not so much!! Our waiter Noah was very informative, friendly, and upbeat! I have had a few visits here now, and the most recent visit was on January 12, 2026. At the beginning of each new year, I like to try a place that I have never been to before, so January 1, 2026, was the first time I had come here. My mom was with me. Depending on when you come in general, parking can be limited at times with all the other businesses in this shopping center. Upon first look at the place from the outside, you can see the name and logo pretty easily. It looks similar to other places that happen to be in this same shopping center. We got here around 8 am on that first visit. When we came inside, it wasn't too busy yet, likely due to others probably still sleeping after being up past midnight for the new year. The inside of the place has a modern diner type of vibe, which fits the restaurant well. We were greeted and seated immediately. Our server Brooke came over pretty quickly and asked us what we would like to drink. I just do my usual of water with lemon, and my mom had gotten coffee. It would take us a little while to choose since there lots of good items to choose from. When she came back to check again, we were ready this time. I figured I'd get something I don't normally do, so I went for the French Toast Combo with scrambled eggs, bacon, and baked apples. My mom decided to go with the Ultimate Skillet with rye toast. The food would come out pretty quick. It was around ten minutes or so. Both breakfast entrees looked really good and they were hot. It felt like an indulgence when I started on the French toast since it has been a long time since having it. The baked apples were great too, and something else I don't normally have. I will note that I didn't get a blood sugar spike after this meal either that day. My mom enjoyed the Ultimate Skillet as much as I did with the French Toast Combo. After the experience from that first visit, we came back to try the lunch/dinner menu options for dinner that day. This visit was on January 12, 2026. After being seated initially, we moved over to a table since the booths were a bit tight. Kellie was our server on this visit. She asked us what we wanted to have to drink, and I went with water with lemon and my mom went with a coke. After taking some time to look over the menu, we were ready to order. My mom decided not to have too much, so she just went with the Loaded Baked Potato side item. I decided to try the Chipotle Chicken Ciabatta Sandwich with the homemade chips as the side. Just like the last time, it took about ten minutes or so for the food to come out. The sandwich I had was really good, and so were the homemade chips. This time, this meal did spike my blood sugar levels, but it was so good. My mom told me afterwards that the loaded baked potato she had come out cold. It was then that we let the server know, and she asked if she wanted to get it redone. She said no but wanted to take it home instead. The server did take off the cost of that item. It was likely due to it sitting before my sandwich was ready to bring them out together. Mom did get a box to bring it home and had it later that evening, and she said it was good when it was heated up at home too. Overall, we have had a few very good experiences here. The food and service were good, and the issue for my mom was handled well too. That shows they truly care about the experience of the visitors here. Both menus may be just two sides, but there is quite a bit to choose from. I think anyone would find something they would like here. There is one thing I want to note when it comes to paying. There is a 3% surcharge added to the total including taxes if you use a credit card instead of cash. In the end, if you are looking for a diner type of place, this one is worth checking out.

Bagels alone wasn't great quality..it was edible enough, but extremely chewy and stiff, especially after taking so long to prepare the orders and with two people working in a place that is seemingly popular with the Yelp Community, the amount of time it took this order to be ready was a little ridiculous. I ordered the same thing back home the following day and it took less time to make here in NJ than it did here on a non-busy day with just my husband and friend as their sole customer at the time.
