I really like this place for Breakfast. While they don't have a huge menu, everything they have is really good. We just moved to town and been to this place a handful of times and it is by far the best breakfast spot in town. We haven't had a chance to have lunch because they serve only breakfast on the weekends and close early weekdays. This place is definitely busy on the weekends but the wait is never too long and there is lovely seating outdoors, shaded and all. The wait staff are very friendly and give great service. So far we've tried their omelette, French toast, banana bread French toast, and pancakes. Everything was delicious and they have my absolute favorite pancakes on earth. Warning to vegetarians and all those whose religion prevents them from eating pork: Your hash browns/potatoes are cooked in bacon grease. My companion was very upset when she took a bite and tasted meat. Part of her omelet was up against these potatoes, and her toast was laying on top of it. The waitress had a nice demeanor but was perplexed as to why we were upset. She didn't offer to remake the dish. Instead, she watched as we cut part of the omelet away and awkwardly transferred the uncontaminated portion to a side dish. We asked for a new order of toast, which was rushed and not at all browned. She did not check on us again till we were at the end of our meal, which means we sat there wanting to order orange juice, more coffee, and more napkins, but, no dice. Even though the café was totally dead and there was no reason to be ignored by our waitress, I will try it again in the near future and hope for a better experience. read more

After an unplanned stay in ASbury Park as well as an unplanned morning Yoga session, my friends suggested we try here for breakfast. Upon arriving we were told that it was about a half hour wait - I should mention now, I had NOT had a chance to have coffee yet, and the fact that 30 minutes was standing in the way of my caffeine had me internally freaking out for a minute. The menu sounds like a healthnut wrote is, and they might have, but it was a health nut with taste buds. The food is really good. I was actually disappointed I did not get the food bowl, which looked amazing! It wasn't a tiny cup of sad fruit, but a huge bowl of brightly happy looking fruit... with a little topping to go with it. I can never turn down unlimited coffee - which was way better then your typical diner coffee - and the prices are pretty cheap as well. They told us to come back in half hour. We came back at 11:30. They had given away our table again. They wouldn't give us the open table right in front of us. They lied.. they said i got there at 11:15 when I met the rest of my party in the parking lot after they got turned away the first time and never went up to the restaurant. My friend took me here one morning. We both have one year olds. They accommodated us with high hairs which were clean and in working condition. The place is on the smaller side, and can get crowded on the weekend. The pancakes, pancakes, pancakes! I swear they are such an easy item to screw up and The Hudson Cafe really does a great job. Hudson Cafe is my go to place to stop by for a hot coffee, cold brew coffee, breakfast, or lunch. On every single one of those, they do an absolutely phenomenal job. The entire staff at the Cafe is incredibly friendly and does a great job at delivering a great experience! This is the best breakfast in town, hands down! Close your eyes and point and the menu and you just can't go wrong. Personally, I'm a huge fan of the french toast. They roast their own beans for the coffee and it's my favorite spot in town to nab a cup. Great to be able to walk over and grab a bag of beans here for those times later in the day when they aren't open, too! Obviously, this means I wind up leaving with a bag of beans, a cup of coffee, and something from the case of pastries.... Those vanilla bean scones are greatness! And the donuts! I have lunch here multiple times a week and they always deliver something great! From salads to burgers, they always make it tasty. The Impossible Burger has been a great addition, the grilled chicken special is always off the charts, the classic club... Ah, that turkey burger! I really love a place wherein the dishes are named after the folks who work there. This place has a friendly, hippie vibe to it. The kind of vibe you get at Jersey Roasters or some beachside bar in the Carribean (except, uh, no beach).
